Character Name: Theseus Amreal. Title: High Magus
Character Age: 15
Character Race: Human
Character Gender: Male
About the Character
Character Personality:
Theseus is a rather meek, nice guy. Although he holds a rather high position, he’s still unfailingly humble, labeling himself a simple student of magic rather than his title, which he believes is simply just another name for ‘devout learner of magic’. When talking to normal people, he often acts rather oddly. In short, he’s lacking in social manners, but what do you expect from someone who spends day after day studying or researching magic instead of hanging out with other people?
One of the biggest and most accurate aspects of Theseus is that he’s a bookworm. More often than not, he’s carrying a large book with him – a textbook that covers theories and researches on magic, and is either reading or researching it. Despite what many think, his books are not spellbooks – he’s studied spells so often and so much, he practically knows them by heart and therefore can use the spells without a problem – there’s a reason why he’s the High Magus after all.
Connecting to his bookworm nature is the fact that he’s very curious. He’s curious about different cultures and races, curious about different worlds, but of course, he’s most curious about different sorts of magics that exist in the universe. He’s become aware that he’s a relatively small fish in the big pond, whereas before, he was considered a big fish in a little pond (though he never had that mentality) and thus, keeps an open mind to whatever circumstance may occur or what might happen, and hopefully learn something new. After all, not everything can be learned from classes, books, or even information of just one world. He knows that, and as such, learns as much as he can from experience.
If things are bad, however, such as his home or his loved ones being threatened, Theseus becomes serious, and shows the reason why he has been named the High Magus. He quirks and social awkwardness, and becomes thoughtful and calculating, predicting where his enemies may move and counteract them to the best of his ability. He also becomes rather charismatic, speaking calmly and with authority, and even when the threat is bearing down on him, he doesn’t lose his cool. Rather, he simply casts spells tactically and rapidly until the threat has been neutralized. And by neutralized, that could range from burnt to ashes, frozen in an iceberg, blown to the sky, obliterated, or even as simple as being driven away. As soon as the threat’s gone, though, he’ll turn back to his bookish self who wants nothing more than a quiet place to study.
Character Appearance (Please include such things as height, hair color, eye color, body type, clothing, weight, etc. You need to actually write a description. You may include a picture for reference):
Theseus stands at about 5’ 7”, with a thin build that shows he doesn’t exactly exercise a lot. He has a head of somewhat messy red hair, and sapphire-blue eyes that shine with knowledge, curiosity, and when dealing with people, fear. His fingers twitch from time to time – a habit that he has, as it’s like a gunman’s trigger finger. He uses his hands and/or staff to cast spells, after all. There are also dark circles under his eyes almost all the time, something that has come from hours of late studying and researching into magics.
As for clothes, Theseus has thankfully made the fashion transition to more appropriate attire for those of other worlds at his age – otherwise, he’d be constantly wearing robes. He wears a long-sleeved navy-blue shirt, with a silver hoodie on top of that, as well as cargo pants and sneakers. He also wears circular glasses gives him the appearance of an owl. All in all, he doesn’t look that dangerous, and really, despite his control of magics, he really isn’t. But those that have made Theseus into their enemy underestimate him… at their peril.
Character Hobbies/Activities (Optional Field):
Studying and researching. Theseus is currently undecided on whether he wants to head back to his College of Magicks and become a researcher, or just find a secluded place and just spend the rest of his days experimenting, researching, and the like once he’s done with his adventures.
Battle Statistics
Character Position (Hero/Neutral/Villain):
Heroic Neutral – doesn’t actively seek evil or injustice, but will definitely fight against them if they show up.
Character Abilities (Maximum of 15 abilities allowed - please write your abilities in list form, starting with name & then description):
Blast – Theseus’s primary attack. As the name more or less outright states, he fires a blast of energy at his opponents - or an orb of energy. However you want to put it.. The blast is relatively small – about the size of a melon – but it moves fast. Once it hits something or someone or travels a ten meter length, it explodes in a one meter radius. One post cooldown.
Ironhide – With the advent of warriors finding ways to get past spells, spellcasters have had to find ways to defend themselves from attacks before they get chopped up to bits, turned into a pincushion by arrows or swiss cheese by guns. Theseus is no exception. He casts a spell that hardens his flesh until, as the name indicates, is like metal. Though, of course, he can still move and cast spells. Three post duration, three post cooldown.
Barrier – Another of Theseus’s defensive spells, Theseus can cast a barrier that prevents physical and magical harm alike. As for the power of the shield, that depends on how large he has to make it. If it’s a very large shield (like, say, surrounding a building), it’s rather weak and a concentrated assault by normal people can break it, rendering Theseus next to catatonic trying to maintain the spell. If it’s surrounding a group of people, it can defend against medium-level attacks. If it’s just around him, it can block powerful attacks without too much of a problem. One post duration, two post cooldown.
Teleport – Most mages are not exactly the most mobile creatures when they’re using spells. Theseus has figured out a way around that. While Theseus normally uses this spell for teleporting between planets, he also can teleport quickly to other areas within a short distance, whether to get a better vantage point, to take advantage of his terrain, or simply to get away from his opponent. Two post cooldown.
Blaze – One of the higher level fire spells that Theseus has mastered. Theseus shoots a large flamethrower that extends about ten meters. The fire is quite powerful and anyone unprotected would be severely burned, if not cooked. As it stands, a strong barrier works well. Getting out of the way also works too, but one has to be careful of the resulting high heat, which can affect people even if they stay out of the flames. Two post cooldown.
Flare – Another high-level fire spell Theseus has mastered. Theseus conjures a medium-sized concentrated fireball – about the size of a watermelon. He then casts it at his opponent, or whatever he’s attacking, and it explodes with a large amount of force that has both concussive impact and fire damage. It explodes if it hits something or once it travels twenty meters. The resulting explosion is about five meters in diameter and is quite strong. Again, a strong barrier or getting out of the blast radius (or out of the fireball itself) is recommended. Two post cooldown.
Hail – A high-level ice spell. Theseus causes large, sharp ice shards to plummet from the sky and bombard whatever is caught within an area of fifteen meter radius of where the target area is. The cold air that comes from the ice also makes it hard for any normal person to move. The attacks can be easily blocked if one has a strong barrier – after all, the ice is coming from above, or one can simply move out of the way… if they can cover the distance before they get hit by the ice, of course. Three post cooldown.
Freeze – This one is actually a low-level spell, but Theseus can use it to such a degree that it’s the same as his more high-level spells. Theseus casts an orb of ice at either his opponent or at their feet, causing a large amount of ice to erupt from whatever it hit. If his opponent was near or hit by the spell, they are encased in a block of ice, there they would soon freeze to death. However, those strong enough (i.e., player characters unless stated otherwise) can break out of the ice. Again, can be blocked or dodged. Two post cooldown.
Bolt – A medium-level spell that, again, Theseus has managed to make powerful. He shoots a bolt of lightning that can either do one of two things, depending on Theseus’s will. 1) It can either bounce off the first target to hit another target that’s nearby, or 2) Theseus can make the lightning bolt a continuous stream of electricity for a few seconds. Either way, the bolt of lightning is extremely powerful and the target will be fried by it unless it’s blocked or one moves out of the way. However, that requires extremely good reflexes as lightning is, of course, extremely fast… albeit, hard to control. Has a range of about fifteen meters. Three post cooldown.
Weaken – Theseus casts a spell that drains the strength from his target’s body. Although he can cast it well enough that it can affect a number of targets, against stronger targets (i.e., player characters), he needs to focus the power of the spell. The spell itself normally hits instantly, but when concentrated, it manifests as a fast red wisp of energy, so it can be dodged or blocked. Two post cooldown.
Heal – Theseus casts a spell that can recover the injuries over either himself or his ally. He can heal a major injury or two or a good deal of minor injuries in one heal. He has yet to study deeply into white magics so this is really the only healing spell he knows. Still, it has served him well. Two post cooldown.
Tsunami – A high-level water spell. Theseus creates a huge wall of water, about twenty feet high and thirty feet long, that rushes toward his opponent. It can travel about forty meters before it loses cohesion and splashes down. Whatever it hits, though, is like getting hit by a freight train, and it moves as fast. Blocking it is recommended, though one can dodge it if one can move out of the way fast enough. Three post cooldown.
Quake – Theseus causes the ground around him to rupture, breaking it apart and causing the earth to either rise or fall and well as shake. This works best to throw off-balance foes that have gotten close to him or, even better, to destroy buildings by undermining them. He often uses a smaller scale version that affects those in a five meter radius and shifts the ground to a rather noticeable effect (two post cooldown), though if he is given the time to channel the spell, the radius and results would be… much more dramatic (though this is a plot-related power).
Maelstrom – A very high-level wind spell. Theseus throws a ball of air at the ground, which instantly forms a tornado upon impact. The area of effect is relatively small – about five meters – but one can be sucked up into the tornado and be battered by the fierce winds of the storm. Getting away is the best idea. Blocking it is not possible because of the nature of the spell. Four post cooldown.
Ultima – The most powerful spell Theseus can cast. It requires a one post charge time, during which Theseus is channeling the magic needed to use the spell. Once ready, Theseus casts an orb of pure energy that is about the size of a man’s head. After traveling about 100 meters, or more likely once it hits something, the orb explodes in a powerful dome of energy, with a radius of about 25 meters. Again, one can get away from it if one can see it coming, but blocking it is absolutely foolhardy unless one has extraordinarily powerful barriers. Six post cooldown.

Character Weapons (Maximum of 5 weapons allowed – members must have 200 posts before their characters may wield a keyblade):
Staff of the High Magus – A lot of spellcasters use staves to focus their energy. Theseus doesn’t really need to use one unless he’s serious. The Staff of the High Magus is the symbol of his rank and title. It’s about five feet tall, with a black wood body and a metal holder crafted with many ornate symbols at the top. In the holder is an orb of what looks like black marble, but is really magically-enhanced orichalchum, an extremely rare mineral that had taken ages and ages to find and refine into such a shape and size (and it’s still rather small – about the size of a grapefruit). As such, the staff is beyond invaluable for both magic and material reasons. When Theseus uses the staff to cast a spell, the orb glows with an arcane light.
Moogle Shop Purchased Weapons (If you have purchased weapons from the moogle shop, please list them here):

Character Accessories (Maximum of 5 accessories – optional field):
Crystal Ball – Theseus uses it on occasion to scry far-off events, and to check how those he knows are doing. In case you’re wondering, no, he doesn’t use it for perverted means. He currently has no interest in such things.

Character Strengths (1 required):
Exceptionally good at magic, extremely intelligent and cunning.
Character Weaknesses (1 required):
Physically weak, lacking in social skills, a bit too obsessed with studying.
Character Summons (Optional field – no canon summons allowed – maximum of 2 allowed and maximum of 2 abilities each allowed):
Giant’s Armor – Theseus summons a large suit of animate armor that’s about ten feet tall. It is armed with a giant sword and shield. It doesn’t feel pain and its shield has been magically enchanted so it can block magic as well. It has also been enchanted by Theseus himself so it isn’t affected by his spells (to prevent friendly fire). Despite its large size, it’s rather fast. In gaming terms, Theseus uses the Giant’s Armor as a tank while he uses his spells. The metal is composed of is mithril, so while it's quite strong, anyone who is very powerful can still harm the armor, and it acts like a human, meaning if you lop off limbs, it can't reattach them or anything like that. And only its shield is magic-proof. Lasts for about five posts, two post cooldown.
Azrael – When things look really, REALLY bad, Theseus summons Azrael, the Chaos Dragon. It’s a gold and black dragon, with full sentience and is very intelligent. It allows itself to be summoned by Theseus as part of a mutual contract between the two, and because Azrael respects Theseus for his earnest pursuit for knowledge. It’s very large – approximately thirty meters in length – and powerful. Lasts for three posts, three post cooldown.
Character D-Links(Optional field - Can only be used if a Wayfinder is purchased from the Moogle Shop - maximum of three D-Links): Place D-Links you have made with other characters here and state the six abilities given to your character from the selected D-Link when the Wayfinder is activated. Remember to follow Wayfinder rules(stated in the shop).

Character Story
Character Home World (Optional Field): Athran
Character Relationships (Optional Field – Describe any relationships that your character may have regarding family, friends, etc.):
Just his fellow students and professors at the College of Magic.
Character History (Minimum of 10 sentences required – proper grammar & punctuation required):
Theseus had born as a poor farmer. His parents and he had a hard life, often farming just enough for them to survive, and occasionally sell a few surplus crops and earn a bit of money. Still, it was a peaceful life. It was routine, calm, and rather tranquil. However, like all things good, it didn’t last. Bandits came invading into the village one day, slaughtering the men, taking away the women, and leaving the kids to die. Theseus was no exception. He was nine when this happened, and his parents were killed in the ensuing chaos.
Alone, he wandered the wilds, subsisting only on what he could catch – be it bugs, the occasional rabbit,
And when times were really lean, even grass. He tried to make himself a bow, but his bows were miserable failures, often nearly ending up with him shooting himself in the eye more than anything else. Inevitably, he began slowly starving to death, unable to find enough game or food to subsist himself. He considered going to other villages, either living there or even stealing if it came down to it, but all the nearby villages had been ransacked by bandits too.
After months of wandering, and on death’s door, Theseus collapsed nearby the College of Magic. The mages who studied there took him in, and with their healing magic as well as their hospitality, soon brought him to full health. Theseus became enamoured in the magic arts, and wished to stay. The mages were delighted to have found themselves an eager student, for most shun the magician’s path for greater glory as a warrior, greater power as a politician, or greater wealth as a merchant, whereas a magician’s role is merely to study the workings of the world and manipulate them to their will after much study.
And so, Theseus threw himself wholeheartedly into his studies. Everything fascinated him – from manipulating elements to shapeshifting to healing magics. His studying became almost an obsession, and he was often found studying and researching what magics he could, practicing them as well. He was exceptionally talented, and learned swiftly. He went afield as well, since one could only study so far with books, and during one of his adventures, he met Azrael, the Chaos Dragon, who took notice of Theseus’s earnest ways, and decided to assist him in his quest for knowledge.
Of course, mages didn’t just study – they were also valuable military assets. At the time, Theseus’s country was in a war with a country of werewolves, and they were losing. There were few mages, and with each foray and skirmish, the number grew fewer and fewer. Soon, the mages were overextended, and there was a large force heading toward the capital. For a long time, the mages of the College of Magic did not send Theseus, as he was too busy studying with almost religious fervor, but this time, they did. Although reluctant to enter a battle, he accepted the job.
The enemy force laughed and jeered as they tore through the army with ease on their way to the capital. There was nothing to oppose them, for they were too strong, too fast. Even the most skillful warriors fell beneath the werewolves. At last, all that stood between them and victory was Theseus. The werewolves thought they had it easy. One little mage – in his teens at that – against an entire company of werewolves. What chance did he have?
Theseus, however, showed that his studying and research and practice had not been in vain. He cast spell after spell, incinerating and freezing werewolves, weakening them so much that they were trampled from behind by their rushing comrades, drowning and flinging away all that came close. When the hour was over, Theseus had utterly annihilated the opposing force. The king saw what had happened, and decided to try sending Theseus into more battles. Each battle Theseus participated in, the werewolves lost, mainly because Theseus had wrecked a majority of their forces with his powers. More and more were now applying to the College of Magic, hearing tales of Theseus’s deeds.
Eventually, the war was won, and the king named Theseus the High Magus – a title that had not been bestowed on anyone for the past century. He was granted the Staff of the Magus as a symbol of his office. But for Theseus, he had no interest in politics or power – merely knowledge and magic. And so, he retired to the College to continue his work. That is, until knowledge on how to visit other worlds came to him, and he decided to explore those worlds, and learn what kind of magic exists there. He left to do so with the king’s and his colleagues’ blessing.
During his wanderings, Theseus encountered the heartless and nobodies, and took a short break to enchant his world so that the heartless could not enter. And now, Theseus wanders the universe, learning what he can, everything he can.

- Chaos Dragon Flame – Azrael breathes out a powerful gold and black flame. Extremely powerful, only the strongest barriers can block it, so it’d be better to move out of the way. One post cooldown.
- Ancient Dragon’s Aura – All his vast years of living and experience have made Azrael extremely powerful, rendering him immune to all magic. Any magic that reaches him fizzles out. Although Theseus is wary of Azrael because of this, they remain on good terms. Passive Ability.
