Name: Rever Epeiste
Alias: Vier; The Azul Blade
Age: Twenty Years Old (20)

ABOUT THE CHARACTER
Personality:
At first, Vier seems very cold and distant. He mostly speaks when spoken to and when he needs to, else he is silent and doesn't make much of a sound. His mannerisms are much like that of a professional, sometimes so much that his cold persona seems even more so. Because of his outer personality, he is often not liked by many. Luckily these traits can allow him to slide into the background without being bothered by the crowd around him.
Despite his outward appearance however, Vier is a kindhearted person. When someone is in trouble, even if they are but a stranger to him, Vier will not hesitate to come to the rescue. Occasionally he will go as far as to rescue the villain from a life-threatening situation, but only if he sees any hope of turning them over to the side of light. If there is nothing that can save the enemy, then he will not hesitate to strike them down at all cost.
Vier's personality does have it's downsides though. While he might be able to keep his cool in most situations, if anyone were to harm his loved ones or friends, he can become enraged to the point that he is reckless and ignores the safety of others. Very view people have made him feel this way in the past though, and his confidence in his swordsmanship keeps him from fearing those kinds of situations.
He is also worried about what other might think of him, whether it be because of his androgynous appearance or his outlook on life. In order to hide from these facts and fears, Vier dawns a mask and ambiguous clothes, even training himself for a year to speak very ambiguously in order to avoid attention one way or the other. While some people have made friends with him and overlooked what he believes to be his "flaws," Vier still feels lonely and unaccepted from time to time. He does what he can to help others though, and that dulls the pains of his upbringings, unique traits, and his own inner darkness.
When it comes to goals, Vier has only one primary goal: Finding a way to rescue his childhood friend Colette. This goal doesn't stop him from helping others and enjoying a few activities on his breaks though. He often reads in order to keep up his intelligence since he isn't tending to his studies at the moment, and he enjoys grass-whistling to pass the time. Vier actually keeps a small bag of healthy grass in order to whistle when there isn't any grass nearby, as not only doesn't it help him stay calm, but it also reminds him that he has someone he is fighting for.
Appearance:
Vier stands at about 5'9". His physique is thin, but still quite muscular for his size. The androgynous appearance he has is due to the fact of him being neither male nor female, but in-between. Although, his shoulder-length, dark blue hair and his blue eyes often give him the appearance of a gentle male. While he bears no markings such as tattoos or birth marks, his eyes are strangely unique. His left eye is a darker shade of blue than his right eye for one, and when he casts magic or uses certain special abilities, his eyes glow a bright orange.
On top of his pale skin, Vier wears a tight, black bodysuit that covers his chest, most of his legs, and his arms. He also dawns a pair of dark blue fingerless gloves that have white cuffs about halfway up his forearms. On his feet, he wears a matching pair armored greaves that have a similar cuff-like material around his mid thigh. Vier's sleeveless shirt also matches his dark blue color scheme, being dark blue everywhere but the golden hems. Over top his shirt are various forms of small armor, including a pair of spaulders that match his dark blue and gold color scheme and a brown strap and belt that holsters his weapon when it is not in use.
In order to help mask his appearance, Vier also wears a black cape with read innings that wraps around his neck, pinned with a shield-like emblem from his homeworld. On his head is a golden headband and a mask, shaped similarly to a butterfly, that is dark blue with golden lining around the top and outer edges. Where Vier's eye's would be his several slits that hide his heterochromic-like eyes. The only times you can see his eyes through the slits is if you are close to his face or his orange magical eyes are glowing through them.
BATTLE STATISTICS
MAX MP: 100 Points
Alignment: Heroic Neutral
Abilities:
MP REGEN | One of Vier's most useful abilities. This skill allows him to regenerate his MP over a period of time. Despite it's simplicity, it only activates itself once Vier's MP reaches 0 and it during it's recharge period, Vier cannot use any magic. In terms of mechanics, it recharges 20MP ever post once active.
[Passive]
BLIZZAGA | An ice-based attack that can make enemies shiver. Vier uses this spell to create ice spikes of some sort, whether they be spiked pillars or large ice shards in the air. Despite being the highest tier of ice-based magic, Vier can only create spikes up to about six feet, and each single spike is considered a single cast, making it difficult to trap someone in ice without using up most of his MP. Other downsides are that ice spikes are the only thing Vier can create with this spell, if he creates spike pillars, a circle of icy light appears where the pillar will shoot out as it is cast, and creating spikes in the air requires him to create them within a few feet from himself and throw them at the enemy.
[Active | Cost 30 MP]
THUNDARA | A lightning based attack that can shock enemies dead in their tracks. While this spell is mostly self-explanatory, Vier has learned to manipulate it a bit. Normally, Thundara calls forth a lightning bolt from the sky or the highest point in the room if the sky isn't visible. While this is still done in Vier's case, he can also call forth the bolt from his own hands.
[Active | Cost 20 MP]
SENSE | A simple passive skill at Vier's disposal. This ability allows Vier to tell many things about his opponent without having to fight them. He can easily tell how close they are to defeat and certain strengths they might have. Because this is not a mastered ability yet, Vier cannot find weak points and can occasionally be left in the dark as to what abilities the opponent has at their disposal. This essentially means that Vier can tell an enemy's health and what resistances they might have, anything else is left unknown due to this ability not being mastered.
[Passive]
CURE | The most basic support spell out there. When Vier becomes injured in battle, he can use this spell in order to heal a portion of his injuries. Often this can only be used on a small area of the body, such as an area the size of the forearm or the thigh at most. Due to it's limited healing abilities, Vier often uses this if he manages to get away from the enemy long enough or saves this for outside of battle.
[Active | Cost 10 MP]
BLADE BEAM | A unique trick that can only be used by skilled swordsman. This ability allows Vier to swing his sword and unleash a beam of energy the length of his weapon's blade toward the target. While this can be a useful ranged attack, when used from too far away, the enemy can easily block, dodge, or merely cut through the blade. When used at closer distances though, it can pass through an enemy after hitting it in order to hit a second one.
[Active | Cost 20 MP]
BIG BANG DRIVER | One of Vier's signature moves. When using this ability, Vier endows his weapon with a non-elemental magical force. He then lunges forward with his blade pointing toward the enemy, sliding along the ground or even in the air. Upon impact with the enemy, the magical force wrapped around the sword explodes and sends the enemy flying back a bit. If Vier misses though, the move will have gone to waist as it is difficult to change the trajectory of this attack.
[Active | Cost 50 MP]
FIRA | Much like his Thundara, Vier has trained himself to utilize this ability in a different way than normal. Fira is typically used to shoot fireball projectiles from your hand or weapon toward the enemy. Vier, on the other hand, has managed to also use it to boost his jumps and speed when need be by firing the spell from the soles of his feet, and occasionally adding an additional boost by firing it from one of his hands as well.
[Active | Cost 30 MP]
FOUR GRAND EIDOLS | At the cost of all his MP, Vier can use this powerful attack. When using this ability, Vier raises his sword in the air as four sigils appear along the blade. With his blade endowed with all four grand elements (fire, water, wind, and earth), he prepares to strike. Lunging forward and swinging his blade, he slashes the enemy in one fell swoop, releasing all the stored up magic within the blade in order to create an elemental explosion upon impact. Due to the length of the attack, and the MP cost, it can be extremely risky to try this attack.
[Active | Cost 100 MP]
Weapon(s):
RED BARON | The Red Baron is Vier's Signature weapon. In fact, it's his only physical weapon other than his own two fists. The sword fashions a red handle, lined with gold at the butt and the hilt of the sword. The hilt curves round, wider than the blade of the sword, circling back to begin the blade. In the middle of the hilt is an empty, circular space. The blade is about 32"-35". Hidden withing the handle however, is an extension for the sword. This extension expands long enough to make the Red Baron become much like a lance or spear, allowing for extra reach if it is needed.
Strengths: Weapons Specialist; Intelligent; Innovative in the Field
Weaknesses: Over-confident; Reckless When Enraged; MP Quickly Consumed
BEHIND THE STORY
THE BEGINNING
Vier was born on the world of Vagrant Plains. His birth name was Rever Epeiste, and within several years of his life, his family had to move far away in order to make enough money to pay for the newborn baby. In the meantime, Vier would be raised by his grandmother. She was a kind woman, reading stories to her grandson and providing him with as much as she could. She even let him play with the kids from the village when it was light out. But word began to spread around of Vier's secret. The adults of the village had discovered that Vier was neither male nor female through rumors, and began telling their kids that he was a freak and not to be treated nicely.
All of the hatred toward Vier drove him to do nothing but sit in the plains, sulking at the fact that he was different from everyone. His sorrow grew so much that he even distanced himself from his grandmother. The darkness nearly took hold of him in his sadness and rage. Then, just before everything turned black for Vier, a young girl sat beside him in the plains. She didn't say anything at first, just pick up some grass. Vier began to feel that she was just like the others until she handed him a piece of the grass. He was confused, but he held onto it. The girl put a blade of grass up to her mouth and began to blow, and a unique whistle began to come out. The girl urged him to try it, and though he struggled, he eventually got the hang out it.
That girl was Colette, and she was Vier's very first friend.
GROWING UP
Over the years, Vier and Colette grew very close. The two managed to get by despite the local village treating them a bit poorly, and eventually, the village didn't do anything to them, good or bad. While they may have been outcasts, they loved their life and friendship together, and nothing could break them apart.
Once Vier became 17, he was drafted into the Kingdom's Military. While this was daunting news for Vier and Colette's friendship, Colette cheered him on, telling him that he can find happiness wherever he went. The two decided then that, whenever they were apart, they would whistle with a blade of grass like they did when they were younger. But Colette did now know what Vier's true happiness was. His smiles were from a girl he met in the village when he was young.
That girl was Colette, and she was Vier's very first smile.
TRAINING IN THE MILITIA
Vier traveled fast through the ranks, quickly becoming a Numbered Soldier, one of the most respected ranks. Of course, Vier had to be as careful as possible. If the other soldiers found out about his genetic secret, he might ridicule him, and remove him from his new found position. Whether he did or didn't become found out, he knew he enjoyed his experience. He not only learned how to fight with various weapons, but learned magic and managed to become known across the land as Vier the Azul Blade.
There came a time when he'd have to go to war though, and the time was soon. Due to the impending battle still being a distance away, the King sent many Knights back to their homes where they could be with their loved ones before the battle. Vier knew exactly who he loved and wanted to see.
That person was Colette, and she was Vier's very first love.
THE DARK CALAMITY
Upon arriving back in his home town, Vier and Colette quickly met and spent their time out in the fields where they used to always go. They sat in the vast fields watching the sunset in the horizon. It was clear to both of them that they loved each other, and neither wanted to let that go. As the day grew dark, the two decide to head back to the village.
Before they could head back though, dark creatures began appearing out of nowhere. Vier grabbed his blade to protect Colette, from the creatures before him, the creatures known as Heartless. In the midst of his battles, a Heartless managed to capture Colette and run off with her. Disappearing through the dark tunnels they travel in, the Heartless got away. Vier grew angered at these beasts and destroyed the remaining few in the fields. But before he could try to find a way to get Colette back, the world began collapsing, and Vier was sucked through the darkness destroying it.
A NEW WORLD
Vier woke up from a daze in Traverse Town. Not knowing where he had been sent, he asked around and found out that his world had been destroyed, and they it would be difficult to find Colette now. Despite his low chances, Vier checked out all the districts of Traverse Town, searching high and low for any sign that might lead him to Colette.
When Vier realized there was nothing there, his anger grew. His eyes began to glow a bright orange and darkness began to crowd around him. Without realizing what he was doing, he opened a portal similar to the ones the Heartless used. Once he snapped back into reality, he realized he had opened a path into another world. Before heading out, he went back to the First District and grabbed all the supplies he needed. He even grabbed a cape and a mask in order to conceal his identity from anyone who may already know his secret, as well as prevent others from finding out. With his gear all together, Vier opened another portal through his rage and walked through.
If anything, he was to find Colette.
THE SEARCH FOR COLETTE
The portal he created lead him to Radiant Garden. Here, while trying to find Colette, he learned more about his situation. He was told by one person that there are many other worlds out there. Another person told him that when on other worlds, he must try to keep a low profile, else he could ruin the connections the worlds have.
All this information was useful, but none of it brought Vier closer to finding Colette. Is only choice was to explore the barren parts of this world. He traveled over to the Great Maw area, a vast space of nothing but what appeared to be ice. When he noticed Heartless and Nobodies appearing around him, he used this opportunity to take out his anger and train his skills. Not only did this improve his fighting, but his planning was also improved as well.
After his training was done, he attempted to open another portal to another world. Realizing that he could not do so anymore, Vier began to head back to town. As he started heading back, he noticed a man in a black robe. The man didn’t say much, but Vier was able to learn that the darkness in him has been quelled, and the only other way to travel from world to world was by Gummi ship.
Back in town, Vier purchased the blocks he needed and created a small, fast Gummi ship that could take him from world to world without wasting much time. Ready to go, Vier traveled to a nearby world called Twilight Town, in hopes that it would bring him some clues.
WRITING SAMPLE
Twilight Town. A tranquil place with unique tournaments and a train station that stood so high, everyone could see the clock face. Vier's arrival in Twilight Town was not so tranquil though...
While he managed to avoid contact with locals upon his arrival, the swarm of Nobodies appeared to great him. Luckily they were weak and Vier was able to dispatch them quickly. He then traveled through the forest ahead of him, wanting to reach the town on the other side.
Where could Colette be? he thought to himself as he reached the city. Like it had with many other, the train station caught his eye as soon as he walked into town. Maybe she is there? Vier didn't hesitate to make his way to the top of the hill where the trains were, but once he made it to the top, he noticed that no one was nearby.
"Strange..." he said to himself. Despite the oddities that were piling before him, Vier entered the station. "No one is here either." While the station was empty the trains seemed to be awaiting passengers. Something still felt off though, as one of the trains not only seemed darker in color, but if felt drenched in darkness. Vier didn't let his curious mind stop though, and he stepped inside the train car.
Before he even had a chance to sit down, the doors of the car closed and the train began moving. Before him stood a strange hooded man, as if he appeared out of thin air once the doors closed. Vier felt something familiar out of this situation. Then it hit him, this was the man from Radiant Garden. Vier prepared himself for a battle, holding onto the handle of his sheathed sword. Before he made a move, he tried to question the cloaked person.
"Who are you?" he asked at first. Why are you helping me?" No matter what he asked, Vier was getting no response. Ready to unsheathe his blade, Vier began slowly pulling the blade out. As he did, he heard something from the man.
Do not step off this train. Return to the world from once you came...
What is that supposed to mean? Vier thought to himself as the man disappeared into the darkness behind him. Fully sheathing his sword, Vier question the mans words. In the end, he decided not to head this man's words and step off the train once it reached its destination.
Soon after, the train had come to a stop and the doors opened up. Vier to a step outside into what felt like a completely different world...
