Laying on top of the clock tower in a strange town that always seemed to have a perpetual twilight Xander's armor glistened as the rays of a fading sun hit it. A small trail of smoke could be traced back to the cigarette in his mouth. It had been only a few days since the darkness took over his world and he awoke here in a town where no one seemed to know a thing about the creatures he had seen that day. With no leads and nothing that looked like a way out of this town Xander was becoming extremely impatient with the townsfolk and the laid back attitude they seemed to all have about living. Yet at the same time he couldn't help but notice that there wasn't an aura of fear and terror that his world had. The entire time he was here he didn't feel that there was someone trying to catch him off guard to kill him and steal his armor. Turning to look at the sun set while he inhaled the last of his cigarette he gathered his thoughts. This place is so different, yet it seems so warm and welcoming. Could this place be the afterlife? Could I have died that day and my soul whisked away to this place? If this really is where I am to spend the rest of eternity then I'm leaving.
Standing up from laying down Xander tossed the butt of his cigarette down off of the clock tower and smiled as he jumped off the tower. He allowed gravity to take over for a few seconds before he flapped the wings his armor gave him allowing him to land on the ground safely. What really struck him odd was how accepting the people of this town were about his armor and the fact that he could fly. Xander bent over to pick up a rock as he did it slowly gained a crimson hue as it was changed from stone into a pure crystal. “This should be able to buy me dinner here and maybe have some cash leftover for a ride on that train out of this town.”

The town that was forever stuck between sunrise and sunset. Never did it ever grow dark in such a world. Saleth had escaped to this world on her own from the prison world she had been stuck on. Having been stuck there for many years, abused just because she was a dragon, Saleth was very cynical of people. So far, she managed to stay out of sight. The townspeople had seen her now and then but those that saw her never seemed to really bother with her. That was a good thing. Saleth didn't want to be bothered.
Still, it wasn't certain what Saleth was. It was clear she was what appeared to be a young woman with a pair of leathery wings sticking out at the shoulder blades and a long, scaly tail from the tailbone region. For the most part, she held a human appearance. None of them knew that she was a type of dragon that had evolved this form to better communicate with and have a peaceful life amongst humans. After all, her kind had almost been wiped out many many years ago.
For the moment, she was walking in the midst of a small, side street. No one bothered her as she went. Probably a good thing considering she wasn't exactly the friendliest of people. If others left her alone, she left them alone.

Pulling out another cigarette and lighting it Xander set off to find a shop to pawn off his crystallized rock. He had luck in selling it to a strange looking creature that appeared to be a living doll. What was more odd about it is when he asked the inhabitants of this town what was the deal with the doll they just shrugged it off and say that it was just a moogle. As he walked down from the plaza and took the back alley he saw a few kids playing with a ball and a bat hitting it up and trying to keep it in the air as long as possible. It was a just a child's game one of the few things that was denied to him in his own childhood. As he walked passed the kids one of them accidentally hit the ball towards him. Without missing a beat using one of hit armored wings he tapped it back at the kids keeping their game going.
Turning into a side street he saw a woman who was vastly different from everyone in this town. It wasn't her brilliant wine red hair nor her lilac colored eyes while she was beautiful for those features what drew Xander to her was the fact that she had wings. Compared to everyone else in this place she was different as if she didn't belong to this world. Having no leads to what was going on she presented him an unexpected opportunity to learn more about what happened. Crystallizing the stones he stepped on as he towards he, he was getting prepared for the worst. He had no idea of who this woman was or if she even spoke the same language as he did, but one thing he did know was that she didn't fit in with the rest of this world meaning she must of come here by some means of travel. Xander continued to walk towards her as soon as they were about to pass one another he opened up his left armored wing right in front of her face and let out a puff of smoke from his mouth before speaking. “You aren't from this world are you? I have some questions for you.” Xander stood there waiting to see what she would do or say. If possible he would rather avoid a fight, but if they had to he was in a prime location to use his powers. The buildings offered plenty of materials for him to change.

Saleth, as she walked, sensed another's presence. Then again, she noticed anyone that came within miles of herself given the fact that she was a dragon. Her sense of awareness was much greater than a typical human's. For the time being, she didn't act suspicious as she simply glanced around the given area. Sure enough, she spotted someone adorned in armor with wings. Like her, he stood out like a sore thumb but he did more than she did. After all, it wasn't hard to miss shiny armor in a crowd. He was walking her way.
Of course, Saleth didn't care to get into a conversation with the man. Instead, she simply chose to pretend that she hadn't really noticed him. If he tried to engage her in conversation, the way he'd go about it would depend on her reaction. Honestly, she'd rather not speak to this man if she could help it but unfortunately, social things sometimes took place regardless of how unapproachable she tried to make herself seem.
Suddenly, when they were just about to pass one another, the other had extended one of his armored wings. If her wings and tail were what made her stand out, the way her pupils slit a bit when she narrowed her eyes as she looked over at the person who had stopped her was just as strange. "No, I've been a local for years!" Saleth growled over at him sarcastically, rolling her eyes. With a brief furrow of her brows, as she looked upon him, it was clear that Saleth wasn't the friendliest of beings.
"What do you want?" Saleth questioned him gruffly.
"You've some nerve stopping me, human!" In close proximity, it was clear that she had a lot of scarring but oddly enough, none of it had made it to her face. No doubt, she had been through a lot for her to be so aggressive. However, for the time being, Xander didn't yet risk a fight with her but his words had to be careful lest she take insult. After all, she was a dragon. Dragons could get angered easily.

Xander took a long drag from his cigarette then he pulled the cigarette away from his mouth and held it between his fingers. This girl if she even was a girl was a fighter he could sense it in her tone. One wrong word and she could explode and this would turn into a fight. “You can drop the tone I have no reason to harm you, yet.” Xander lowered his wing from in front of her face and turned to face her while taking a step back to give distance between him and this girl. All the time continuing to crystallizing the stones under his feet just as a precaution. “I would rather get the information I hope you can supply me with then be on my way without fighting.”
Xander could see the scaring around the girl's body a weak spot or an exploitable event that I can bring up if we should fight. Xander then noticed her tail it was reptilian in nature that he could see based off of the scales from a first glance. What ever this girl was there was no doubt that she wasn't human at least not fully. “A blind man could see that both of us don't exactly fit in with this town. So I ask you what do you know of traveling to other worlds.” A single shadow heartless appeared up from the shadows and launched itself at Xander.
Xander moved the cigarette back to his mouth so he could free his hand as he quickly grabbed the lone shadow heartless. Keeping a tight grip on the heartless he slowly began to turn it into a crystal. Looking back at the girl he keep a straight face even as the shadow tried to scratch his arm. “Sorry about that ever since I arrived here these things have been attacking me relentlessly. Now then would you be so kind as to answer my question?” Xander could only hope that what he said wouldn't provoke her to attack him or leave. Unknown to the both of them was the large spiraling darkness that was slowly growing in front of the clock tower.

Saleth remained the way she was, her arms folded as she watched Xander like a hawk would its prey. She was a dragon and just because someone told her that she could drop the tone and meant her no harm didn't mean that she would believe him. Only a fool would believe a total stranger. "Then hurry up, I haven't got all day!" she growled. If Xander believed this was the only form she would be in, in a battle, he'd be quite surprised to know that she could change into her true dragon form to fight. Hopefully, it won't go there.
It wasn't long before the other finally pointed out the fact that they stood out like sore thumbs in this world. Saleth simply rolled her eyes at that, lightly shaking her head. "Alright, Captain obvious." As he questioned her about world travel, Saleth gave a sigh. Was he that new to world traveling? Or did he think she had some sort of special talent that enabled her to travel? Before she could answer though, a Shadow Heartless sprung at the stranger. Not really reacting except for grabbing onto it as if the thing were vermin, Saleth listened as he informed her the things had been attacking him since he came here.
"Those things you speak of are called Heartless, smart one. The come in different sizes and types. The one you have there is known as Shadow Heartless, the weakest type. As for world traveling, it varies. Some teleport to other worlds, some rip open a portal and travel that way and others...like myself...use a Gummi Ship to get to and from." Saleth seemed to be cooperating, if only for a little bit. She didn't feel like getting into a fight but if she was annoyed enough, she just might.

As this girl continued to speak Xander listened to her words only hopping that she was telling him the truth. She had no reason to trust him so he knew that she also had no reason to tell him the truth. As she spoke the heartless slowly stopped moving it's arms as it turned into crystal. As she finished speaking he dropped the now pure crystal heartless onto the floor. “Thank you for answering my questions. You called these creatures heartless right? What exactly do these things want? They don't seem to bright at least not the ones I have fought. Although they seem to rotate between being black in color and having a white color scheme.”
Taking one last drag from his cigarette Xander sighed heavly before taking it out of his mouth and crystallizing it. “Would it be to much to ask of you to take me off of this world and to another place where I could acquire my own gummy ship as you call it? I would find some way to compassionate you for help. I'm sure someone as beautiful as you could always use a helping hand.” Xander had no intention behind his complement to the girl he was only stating the obvious that she was attractive and if not for her tail and wings that most men would be head over heels for her. Xander didn't have time for love though epically with someone from another world his mission was to get back to his own world and remove the darkness that consumed it so he may continue fighting for glory and honor for his family.
The dark mass slowly grew out of the darkness and roared out loud as it saw twilight town with it's own eyes. Soon enough people started running in panic away from the beast as numerous shadows started after people trying to drag them into the still open dark portal. One man ran passed both Xander and the girl screaming that a giant black beast was taking people away. “Well it seems like this town is doomed now then if we are going to leave then we might want to do it now.”

Saleth had no reason to lie about what she was telling this human. She was a dragon, after all. She might be more aggressive than she normally should be but she had her reasons. Saleth, being a dragon, valued honor and would not lie of such things. As she was speaking, she could see that the Heartless was becoming encased with what appeared to be some sort of crystalline substance. Before long, the Heartless was completely submerged in it and went still. As she finished speaking, she watched as the human dropped the creature on the cobble stone ground. When he began to speak to her again, she lifted her lilac eyes back onto him as she listened.
"They're after this!" Saleth had pointed directly at Xander where his heart was likely underneath his flesh. "Maybe not the actual one that pumps the blood through your veins but certainly the other one. The one that makes you whole and drives you. They consume the heart, turning you into one of them. A being consumed by hatred and fear with the unrelenting hunger for those whose hearts are tainted with darkness."
Saleth tilted her head to the side a bit as Xander went on to mention how the Heartless didn't seem very bright. "Then wait until you see the stronger ones...you will think otherwise when you've reached one that retains the shape of a whole being that can walk and talk like one too. The color scheme you speak of...the purebreds have no white, the ones with white are ones created from an experiment gone awry years ago."
There was a moment of silence, Saleth presuming their conversation was probably over. Not like she minded, the sooner the conversation was done and over with, the better. Just as she was about to turn to leave, the human began speaking to her again. Sighing silently in exasperation, Saleth turned her head to peer over at him as he spoke. He was requesting for her to take him off of this world and helping him obtain a Gummi Ship. In return, he'd compensate her with help. Although, in the fashion he had said it, made Saleth narrow her eyes at him.
"Flattery doesn't work on me and I am nothing like your pathetically weak human females that always need saving." Shaking her head and rolling her eyes, Saleth placed a hand on her hip. "I'll help you find a ship but as soon as you do, see ya!" Saleth stated. She never trusted a human on their word anyway. Only a fool would. If he proved to be faulty, she could easily try to tear him apart in her dragon form in which she hadn't shown yet.
Then, commotion broke out in the form of screams. Blinking, Saleth turned to see a girl running past screaming about a creature taking people away. A giant one at that. "Hmph, well what do you know? Some entertainment!" Saleth stated, dismissing what Xander said it seemed. "Leave? BAH! I'm a dragon, I've been looking for something to rip apart!" Waving a hand at him as if to shoo him away, Saleth stepped forward a few paces in the direction the people had been running away from. A light erupted around her for a good moment before dispersing. When it did, a large silver dragon stood in her place and stretched. Flexing its claws and wings, the dragon appeared to have a grin on its face. This was Saleth's dragon form. Saleth prowled toward the area like a cat almost.

Xander was pleased with the way things were turning out. This girl was answering all of his questions although a few things she said did make him wonder more about what these so called heartless creatures really were. If they just wanted his heart wouldn't it of been easier to just kill him and take his heart or soul from his dead body. Could it be that they need the heart or rather soul as it should be called in a living body so they can turn it into another one of them. When the girl mentioned that some heartless were more like humans then anything else Xander's eyes fixated on her face to see if he could tell if she was just lying or tying to pull a fast one on him. From what he saw he couldn't see any signs of a liar.
Everything was running smoothly until he said he wanted to leave and ignore the howl of the large heartless. The girl before him stated that this was a fight worthy of a dragon and then something happened that showed him that each world has their own rules about what lives there. She gave off a bright light and soon she vanished and was replaced by a dragon that was rapidity crawling towards the source of the cry. “Well that sure is interesting........” Xander knew that at this point he might as well help stop the heartless threat so that he could get off of this world. Still he couldn't help wonder what was the point of having such a large form. It seemed much more of a disability in a close range fight than anything else.
Xander's wings extend fully and flapped down propelling him up into the air above the buildings. From this height he saw the monstrosity that was a giant heartless and the girl who became a dragon rapidly moving towards it at the base of the clock tower. In the air he wasted no time as he dove right towards the center of the heartless. Keeping his right arm extended in front of him as he made contact with the heartless. With the force of him diving at the heartless it caused it to tower over and fall against the clock tower. Walking away from the dust cloud that risen up from the falling heartless Xander smiled knowing that this battle was over. If the beast stood up he had done the damage needed to eventually win. The punch had dealt some damage, but his real goal was to make contact with the beast so that his power would eventually turn the monster into nothing more than a giant crystal.
As he stepped away he saw that dragon running up. He smiled knowing that the fight was already over. “Looks like that giant form just slows you down.” As he finished speaking an arm from the dust cloud slapped Xander into the wall nearby. He was slammed into the wall creating an indent of his body in the bricks. Soon the heartless rose up from the ground and roared out as it charged after Saleth swinging it's arms at her like a mindless beast.

Saleth weaved her way through the streets to where she could hear the commotion taking place and where she could sense the dark presence. As her dragon form, her senses were much more heightened compared to a human's. As she went, she sensed something aerial above that wasn't a Heartless. It was that human from before with the wings. The presence she had recognized from earlier. He was speeding away to where she knew the Heartless would be. Wanting to savor the moment for when she'd meet with the Heartless, Saleth wondered what that human was about to do. Had he decided to join the fight or watch? Whatever the case, she could care less. Most humans avoided her once they figured out that she could turn into a large dragon that could easily tear them to pieces if provoked enough.
As she reached where the Heartless was, Saleth skidded to a stop kicking up dust behind her as she did so. Even though her form was large, she moved surprisingly fast. She blinked at the tiny form of the human whom looked rather triumphant about what he had done to the Heartless. Even now, she found it interesting how humans could be surprisingly strong in such tiny forms. Regardless though, she was annoyed with the fact that he had just ruined her fun. Saleth narrowed her eyes a bit, opening her mouth to respond only for the human to suddenly get smacked aside after lecturing her about her large form being slow.
"Hmph, maybe next time you'll be less arrogant, human, and focus more on your surroundings before lecturing in the midst of a battle. Rule number one, always check to make sure your foe is dead before letting your guard down."
It sort of amused her to see the human get slapped aside after he had lectured her. It were as if something were trying to teach him to not be so mocking. The Heartless was now back on its feet roaring. Saleth let out a roar in response to challenge the creature back as it came for her. As expected, it flailed its arms at her mindlessly. Where one would not expect her form to be suitable for a close range fight, Saleth proved that it were possible. Pushing off the ground with her two front legs and jumping, Saleth performed a flip and as she did so, kicked out at the Heartless. Before the thing could fall from her initial kick, Saleth wrapped her tail about its neck and then used the momentum of her flip to send it crashing hard into the ground underneath her creating a small crater.
"Hmph! Slow indeed!" Saleth scoffed over at the human whose name she realized she had not learned yet. Not that she cared to. If anything, she knew that she proved just how fast she was since when she performed all of that, it wasn't even a few seconds before the Heartless had been smashed into the ground. Leaping off, Saleth turned to face the creature again.
"I was just savoring the moment for when I fought this thing."

Bits of dust and rubble fell down on top of Xander from where he was imbedded into the wall. His fingertips touching the inside of the wall slowly crystallized the wall. With his head face down he slowly started to laugh. For some reason he felt excited and motivated to actually fight this heartless. As he slowly pulled himself from the wall he continued to laugh. With one quick and powerful push off of the wall he dashed towards the heartless, during the dash he quickly created ten crystal spears. Before the giant heartless could even get up from the onslaught that Saleth hand unleashed on it Xander launched his own attack. Two spears flew directly into the eyes of the heartless as Xander was ten feet away from the beast. The heartless stood up and cried out in pain as the spears pierced it's eyes there was no time for it to recover as five spears aimed at the neck of the heartless make contact with it's neck. Xander jumped right in front of the heartless and tossed a spear at the center of it's hands pinning the heartless's hands to the ground. With the last spear in his hands Xander changed it into a large claymore as he slashed it down across the heartless's head.
As he landed down on the ground all that remained of the heartless was just a black cloud rising up and vanishing and a large heart floating away. As the spears that were embedded in the massive heartless fell to the ground around Xander they slowly hovered up off the ground and circled around him once more. Swinging the large claymore around to clear the smoke Xander walked out with a grim across his face looking directly at Saleth. “Well that was more fun than I expected, by the way what's your name cutey?” Out of the corner of his eye Xander saw a someone in a black coat running away quickly. He didn't give it a second thought at the moment until he saw the man running into a dark portal.

It was a bit of a buzz kill when the human unleashed his own attack next. Having peeled himself from the wall he had been embedded into, Xander unleashed some sort of spear attack on the Heartless. She saw two spears appear and jab the Heartless in the eyeballs. It didn't take a genius to know what that meant. 'Well, so much for this fight,' she thought as she watched the remainder of the battle progress.
In her boredom, since the human went into overkill mode, Saleth transformed back and pretty much crossed her arms as she made her way over to the wall to the far side and simply watched. Giving a bit of a yawn, she watched the strangely armored human slaughter the Heartless pretty much. Whatever his spears were, they had been able to make mince meat out of the creature of darkness. Before long, it was destroyed. Saleth watched in slight annoyance as the thing became nothing more than dust that immediately blew away as if it had merely been made of vapors all along.
The heart of the Heartless rose into the sky and soon, disappeared. 'Well, there goes that bit of fun!' Saleth thought before the human brought her attention off of where the heart had gone before disappearing. The spears all fell before revolving around the human, whom seemed to be enshrouded still in the dust of the aftermath of the fight. Using his claymore to clear the dust, he finally stepped out with a grin on his face. What he said next though hadn't been the brightest thing to say to a dragon that didn't like humans.
"Hmph, after you hogged it all."
It wasn't the question about her name that bothered her, it was the word he used to refer her as. Eyes narrowing dangerously, her pupils slitting in a cat-like fashion, Saleth let out a low growl. She might be in human-like form but there were still dragon-like traits about her.
"You would do well to not call me that again!" Saleth growled in warning. She wasn't going to put up with such things from this one. Where she wouldn't kill him over it, Saleth was making it known that she wasn't one to bother. Honeyed words didn't get anyone anywhere with her.
"Hmph! If you must know, it's Saleth, human." Standing up again, Saleth's expression returned to a neutral one once more. Her cat-like slits were gone, the pupils now a normal human-like shape. "Alright, let's get out of here. My ship's not that far from this place." With that, she turned away from Xander and lead the way back to the center of Twilight Town.

Xander smiled as he picked up a medium sized rock that had came lose after Xander exploded out of the wall he was embedded in. He started to crystallize the rock as he walked over to her “the name is Xander by the way and your name is beautiful just like you Saleth.” As she started to walk off and towards her ship Xander grabbed Saleth by her waist and smiled as he started off towards another street other than the one that Saleth was going to walk down. “I don't think we should leave just yet there cutey I am rather hungry and I would love to spend some more time with someone as fascinating as you.” With that Xander gently pulled Saleth closer to him and towards a small outdoor cafe where he sat her down and then sat down in the seat across from her still holding onto the rock he had picked up before it was now completely crystallized. He turned it from being a dull and useless rock into a brilliant beautiful diamond.
Xander had the nine spears that were floating around him dig into the ground around both him and Saleth while he placed his claymore next to his seat. Seeing that the waitress was rather scared of what she had just seen he gently waved her over to come over trying to convince her that he and Saleth wasn't a threat to her. As the waitress came over Xander ordered a small club sandwich and an ice tea for himself and ordered a medium rare steak for Saleth along with some water. “I am sure you could use something to eat after that fight. So tell me about yourself Saleth.” Placing the newly created and rather large diamond on the table he started to mold it as he waited to hear what Saleth had to say.
On the outside of the abandoned house in the woods a man cloaked in black kept on taking notes in a strange electronic device. As a mass of shapeless darkness rose from the ground in front of the man he stepped back and watch as it slowly started to take shape and grow. The man remained silent as he opened the front gate of the abandoned house and stepped into the garden with the intent of finding something in the house that would lead to some more advance results. Both Xander and Saleth didn't know that their fight had been recorded and the data that it held would be used in further experiments.

Saleth did not expect what happened to happen. She guessed that she should've kept a better eye on the human. When she had introduced herself, albeit in her usual gruff manner so as to keep him at a distance, she had turned her back on him and started to walk away. As she was doing so, he spoke up introducing himself as Xander. He followed it up with complementing her name and then calling her beautiful. She turned her head to look over at him questioningly, her nose scrunched up with distaste and confusion. Most people tried to keep their distance after she growled at them in warning.
Before she could get a good head start though, he had come up from behind and wrapped his arm about her waist. The whole action had surprised her since she didn't expect him to be so forward or daring. In her moment of surprise, Xander took advantage of that and began to lead her down another street, clearly not the one that she had intended to go down. It seemed he had suddenly changed his mind about this world since when she first ran into him, he had wanted to leave almost immediately. As he steered her away, all she could do was splutter in protest.
"H-HEY! What do you think you're doing?!"
Xander didn't seem to hear her though as he lead her into a cafe of some sort. Saleth found herself forced into a seat as Xander took the seat opposite from her. Placing the rock he had earlier, it was now completely crystallized and had even changed shape. Was this his way of trying to intimidate her? No, for some reason that didn't seem to be the case.
'Did he get hit too hard on the head or something?' Saleth wondered in confusion. Really, she wasn't sure what to make of this Xander. He was a human adorned in strange armor and his mannerisms were odd compared to what she was accustomed to. He wasn't a typical human being, that much was true. In a sense, it made her wary of him for some reason even though he wasn't presenting himself as a threat. Instead, he simply had his spears stick in the ground around them before motioning for a waitress to come over to them. Saleth couldn't blame the woman for feeling frightened after what she had just witnessed. When the woman came over, Xander ordered himself something and then went on to order Saleth something as well. Once again, Saleth was left in confusion. Just what got this human to act so strangely? Wasn't he suppose to be afraid of her or hate her?
When he broke into conversation, Saleth couldn't help but blink back at him, still struck dumb. Why was he treating her so nicely? A feeling of suspicion overcame her then. Was he trying something funny? "Wha-? Did you hit your head?" Saleth had questioned him. "Why are you being so nice to me?" It was obvious by her voice that she was definitely puzzled by his sudden behavior. As she got over her initial confusion, inwardly wary of him, Saleth decided to answer. It seemed that she couldn't get rid of him sooner so she might as well humor him for the time being. They wouldn't know each other for much longer as soon as she got him to where the Gummi Ships can be bought. She didn't notice that he was changing the diamond before her just yet since she was focused on him and his odd behavior.
"Hmph, if you must know, I'm a dragon if that battle didn't clue you in on that fact earlier. Just passing through this world." Saleth was careful to not tell him that she had recently escaped a prison that was likely out searching for her whereabouts. It was best that he didn't know that she had been a prisoner although her skin, except for her face, was scarred to show she had been through something rough in her life. On her arm, she wore a wristband that covered the insulting and permanent marking they left on her arm. A tattoo that revealed her identity as their prisoner in which only the prison she was from would know. However, it was easy for others to see if it were in the open that she was a convict just by the way the numbers were put together. Admittedly, she was self conscious of that part of her life. She hated every moment of her life in the prison. It also didn't help that she thought and felt as if her family had abandoned her or forgotten about her since no one had come to help her.
"And as for you...you wound up here on accident, didn't you?" Saleth asked, sounding bored. It were almost as if she knew what his answer would be but of course, she could be wrong.

Xander smiled a bit as he continued to shape the diamond into a figure after hearing what Saleth had said about her and asking those rather awkward questions that most normal people would know the answer to. “Come now you should know why I am being so nice to you. After all you are the one who will get me off of this wretched place and to another world.... hopefully my world.” As Xander spoke those last words he stopped molding and looked down for a moment. The waitress brought over the drinks and placed them in front of both Saleth and Xander. Placing the jewel on the table to take a sip from his drink. Placing the drink back he slowly picked up the diamond and continued to work on it shaping it and molding it now having it look like there are two separate parts to the figure.
“I know there must be more to your story that you aren't telling me, but that's fine if I was in your situation I would do the same. Actually I would of left long ago and leave you to figure out your own way off this world, so I guess you are a better person than I am.” Xander places a cigarette in his mouth and lights it up taking in a deep breath and relaxing for a moment before he looks at Saleth in her eyes. He wondered about her scars all over her arms and legs. He could see them and he knew that someone didn't just get them from traveling around no he knew that those scars were inflicted via battle or something worse like a punishment. He knew it wasn't his place to ask her about them yet he still wondered what was the story behind them.
As the waitress brought over the food Xander smiled at the rather plain looking girl as she placed the food down on the table. He didn't mean anything by it, it was him just being kind to her because of the rapid delivery of the food. Xander slowly started to eat in silence for the first few bites before he spoke again. “As you said I did come here on accident, but that's just the recent past not who I am. I am a fighter, a warrior, a proud knight for my family, but most of all I am a killer. I have killed many people all for the right for my family to say that they are the strongest, yet we aren't. Each week I would fight another battle to prove the honor of my clan, I wouldn't win each fight, but I won more than my fair share to say that I have slaughtered over a thousand people. People who had no reason to be fighting and yet I can say I have no regret over killing any of them. My world is a living war zone so seeing this kind of place where people live in peace and quiet is both strange and at the same time refreshing. So maybe it is that I am enjoying the peace that is making me being so kind or maybe it's the fact that I enjoy your company. Take it how you want Saleth.”
Xander ate the rest of his food in silence as he waited to see if Saleth would say anything to him or if she would just eat and keep silent like he was. He had told her a bit about himself, but nothing that most people in his world didn't know already. After all he was a star in the battles and he was known for making sure his opponents wouldn't get a rematch. As ruthless and cold as he was in battle it seemed to attract many different women to him all wanting to be his. He ignored them all because none of them were worth his time. They were all leeches and parasites trying to latch onto him as he climbs up in the ranks and in fame. Yet for the first time he actually felt some attraction to this girl Saleth even more than his fiance. Xander took off the gauntlets of his armor showing that he did in fact have a wedding ring on his finger. Although the girl he was to marry was nothing more then a power play done by his father to help their family grow in power.

Saleth watched Xander with suspicion as he went on to answer her question. His being nice to her, he claimed, was because she was going to help him get off this world. Saleth wasn't sure if what Xander said was genuine. She wasn't accustomed to being treated this way. In fact, the way he spoke to her was puzzling. Saleth wasn't used to this kind of behavior. "I...see..." she said, trailing off. For now, she did not argue the matter despite his odd behavior.
Only then did she take note of what Xander was doing. The rock he had crystallized with his powers, he was now shaping it into something. Honestly, Saleth hadn't seen anything like that before. She did her best though not to look at what he was doing for too long lest it catch his attention, which she would rather not happen. Saleth looked up and over at him when he mentioned that he knew there must be more to her story than she was letting him know of. He was bluntly honest about the fact that he'd have done the same but would have also left her on this world if their roles were different. Only then did he go on to tell her that she was a better person than he was. After saying all of that, he lit a cigarette and looked at her for a moment. Saleth could sense there was something bothering him. Something that he wanted to figure out but didn't dare mention. If it were about her scars, she'd simply brush the subject off stating it was a fight. In reality, it was the scars she got as punishment in prison just because she was a dragon. Saleth wouldn't tell anyone that.
Their small conversation, if anyone could call it that, was interrupted when the waitress had returned with their drinks and food. Xander began to eat while Saleth looked down at her own plate. Now that she remembered, she hadn't actually eaten at all today. The fact he seemed to guess at what her kind ate was somewhat remarkable. Most tried to get her well done food and Saleth usually turned her nose up at those. However, this one smelled rare. Not rare, rare but something akin to what she would order.
While Xander wasn't looking, though she didn't care if he had been, Saleth uncertainly cut it open. It really was medium rare. Saleth's stomach was even more pleased to know this fact. For once, Saleth gave Xander a point in the human department if only slightly. This human knew how a dragon ate. After the first few bites, Xander finally spoke. She had been right in tat he had come to Twilight Town by accident. However, that wasn't who he was. Xander, for some reason, felt the need to tell her more about himself. Saleth couldn't understand why he wished to tell her his life story but she let him continue. She was a bit more lenient now that she liked what she was actually eating.
According to Xander, he was a warrior of sorts. By the sound of it, his world was like a warzone. Being pitted against others, he was a killer of a thousand people if only for his family to claim it was the strongest when they weren't. Xander had no regret in killing the people he did. This sort of place felt refreshing to him, if not strange. So, according to him, either it was the different environment or the fact he just simply enjoyed her company. Saleth mentally sighed. He wasn't suppose to be enjoying her company! She had tried to keep him at a distance for crying out loud!
'This is what I get for being nice!' Saleth thought with annoyance. Well, no use now. She did say she'd help him obtain a Gummi Ship. Being a dragon, she stuck to her word. After all, dragons valued someone's word. If they didn't stick to their word, dragons got angry and considered the dragon dishonorable and a disgrace. That was what also made it difficult for dragons and humans to get along. Humans weren't always creatures that stuck to their word. Dragons were always suspicious of them. That was another reason behind why Saleth wasn't so trusting of Xander right now.
"Better to be a fighter than a coward," was all that Saleth had to say to it. She at least acknowledged that he was a warrior with a slight incline of her head. Bravery was another thing dragons valued. Cowardice was something that dragons despised. Already, Xander had some of her respect but only some. Saleth wasn't one to befriend a human. After her treatment, she didn't trust humans and tended to keep them at a distance. Where Xander was an attractive human, Saleth did not intend on getting to know him. Besides, from the look of things, he seemed to be already married although she admittedly could not understand why he called her such names earlier. Was he unfaithful? Regardless, it wasn't any of her business. Saleth had no intention of being one of the affairs he had if that were the case. Saleth valued loyalty, if a dragon wasn't loyal they were not worth her time. It was the same with humans, back when she actually got along with humans. Saleth only gave those that were loyal and honorable her time and befriended them. Those that weren't always ended badly.

Xander smiled a bit and chuckled as he saw Saleth's eyes looking at his wedding ring. “Upset I am taken? I thought dragons didn't like humans like that Saleth.” Xander was teasing her about where her eyes wandered off to. He would tell her the truth about his wedding ring and how it was only a formality and that the marriage was an arranged one that he had no real interest in the girl while she was pretty was much older then he was by a good fifteen years and this would be her third marriage. She had killed the other two husbands on the day of her wedding because both men failed to beat her on the day of their wedding.”Well to put your mind at ease I am still on the market. This wedding ring is nothing more than a shackle placed on me by my father wanting to gain more power and prestige for our family. I have never even personally met with the woman I am suppose to marry all I know about her is from news and the records they have on her at the colosseum. So you could say that I am single and at the same time I am not.”
Xander took out a cigarette and lit it taking a deep drag from it and exhaling the smoke away from Saleth's face.“However I owe nothing to this woman and knowing her she will just kill me on our wedding day. That's how the house of ten are any weakness found in the family is killed no matter who it is. I have seen one of them kill their own child just because he lost one battle. I may be a killer but they are monsters. So while yes being brave is a good thing it has landed me in a position I am in no place to get away from.” Xander knew his father wasn't all to blame for this after all it was his fiancee who offered herself to Xander because she liked the way he looked. Xander smiled at Saleth as the waitress came back to pick up the plates. “Would you and your girl friend like anything else to eat?”
Xander not missing a beat and wanting to spare the poor waitress the embarrassment of being wrong he said “no we are fine just bring over the bill.” As the waitress quickly left before anyone else could say anything else Xander looked Saleth in the eyes and spoke in a soft yet coy tone to her. “That does have a nice ring to it though Saleth. Although I know that you would never go for a human male you would probably want to take on a dragon as a mate wouldn't you?”

Saleth regretted the fact that she had, unintentionally, looked at Xander's wedding ring a little longer than she had intended to. Her mind had just basically wandered and unfortunately, fell upon the ring and lingered upon it a little longer than she intended. Hearing Xander's retort to her stare made Saleth's face almost flare as red as her hair. "WHAT?! N-NO! I DO NOT!" Saleth instantly replied. It was obvious that she was embarrassed. What made him think that she was interested in him just by glancing at the ring? What he said next made her embarrassment worse since he had gone on to tell her that where he had that ring, it was just merely what one could call an engagement ring and that he was technically still available. He never even met the female he was suppose to wed.
"Your human customs are strange. If anyone forced me to marry someone I didn't know nor liked, I'd rip their heads off."
Saleth blinked back at Xander after he took a drag from his cigarette, blew it out away from her and went on to state that where he was considered a killer, his fiancee and her family were considered to be monsters. Apparently, their family was known to kill a mere child over losing a single battle. "Killing younglings...Hmph, monsters indeed." When Xander mentioned it left him in a position that he could not avoid, she simply rolled her eyes. "Only because you sit there and allow yourself to be pushed into something."
At that moment, Saleth went to take a drink of the drink that had been provided. She had finished eating that delicious medium rare steak and now needed to water it down. As she took the first couple of swallows, the waitress had returned. What the waitress had said, however, caused Saleth to cough up her drink in her surprise and attempt to protest when she had the drink in her mouth already. While she had been busy coughing and spluttering, Xander had simply dismissed the waitress stating that she should bring over the bill and that they were fine. Recovered from her coughing fit, Saleth narrowed her eyes as she looked over the table up at Xander. That damn human was making it seem like they were!
What came next certainly short circuited Saleth's brain for a moment. "That's none of your business!" Saleth growled back at him, her face nearly as red as her hair now. Her pupils, though once normal like a human's, had now become slitted like that of a reptile's or feline's. "How do you even know dragons can chose humans too?" Inadvertently, she had no idea that she had just revealed to Xander that dragons could also marry humans. Due to their evolution, they could.

Xander smiled as Saleth started coughing on her drink and as her face turned bright red. Her face was priceless to him, he let out a small chuckle at her current situation. When she said that human could mate with humans he raised his right eyebrow in intrigue as he did fancy the way she looks and her attitude. “I had no clue that dragons could be with humans in that way you just told me that Saleth.” The waitress came back and placed the bill on the table Xander took a piece of the diamond that he was molding and placed it over the bill. “I think that will be enough to cover the cost of the bill don't you?” It didn't take long before the waitress came back and took the bill back and was shocked to see what he was paying with. “Just take the rest as a tip I really don't care for change.” The waitress's face lit up and she smiled “t-t-t-thank you so much sir.” She looked at Saleth and smiled and giggled “you are so lucky to have such a generous boyfriend.”
The waitress left quickly after that Xander smiled as she left and looked directly at Saleth in her eyes noticing how beautiful they really were. Keeping that smile across his face as he finally finished the statue he slid it over to Saleth. She could obviously see that he had made it of her in both her human and dragon form. “Here you go think of this as my way of saying thank you for helping me find a gummi ship and I hope that this won't be the end of me seeing you Saleth. For some reason you are enchanting to me and I want to know more about you so how about we make that waitress's mistake the truth? What I am saying Saleth is will you go out with me?”

Saleth felt like the world had just suddenly fell from under her feet when Xander told her that he didn't know humans and dragons could marry. She had revealed it to him! Well, so much for her using the safeguard of claiming she could only marry a male dragon! 'Shit!' Saleth thought as she brought her hand's palm to slap it on her forehead. How could she be so stupid to fall for that little trick? It was one of the oldest tricks in the book to get someone to reveal something to them. Since she had been caught offguard, Saleth went and inadvertently told this human about dragons and humans.
It had been a lucky thing the waitress chose that moment to come over and put down the bill. It gave Xander a bit of a distraction for the time being. Saleth half considered running out of there but that would be the cowardly way out. Saleth was a dragon, not a coward. She faced her problems rather than running away from them. At least, she did for the most part. She was still running away from that accursed prison. The guards had to still be searching for her out there somewhere. She couldn't stay in any place for too long in case any came out this way. That was another reason why she didn't mind helping Xander find a Gummi Ship. She had to leave anyway.
When Saleth came out of her thoughts, she heard Xander speaking to her. Blinking, Saleth saw what he had put down to pay for the food and drink. He had placed a diamond as their way of payment. All she could do was just look back at Xander in amazement. Not because she was a dragon and liked anything worth something but because he had chosen to just give something like that out. Then again, the way he was acting, this had to be normal for him. He seemed to be able to make diamonds out of anything he touched if he wanted to. As the waitress saw what he had given her, she thanked him. In her excitement, much to Saleth's chagrin, the woman said that Saleth was lucky to have such a generous boyfriend. Saleth's jaw dropped in response, her face flaring up again. SHE DID IT AGAIN! ASSUMING THEY WERE A COUPLE!
Before Saleth could react, the waitress took off again swiftly. Saleth could do nothing but watch her go in shock and anger. Things got suddenly very awkward from there as Saleth recovered, closing her mouth only to find her eyes were now locked with Xander's. The fact he was looking directly into her eyes made her inwardly recoil at the sudden contact. Just what was he doing? Saleth frowned over at him a bit, trying to not show any weaknesses in case everything had been a trick. She didn't know why but there was something about his eyes. Not in the sense that he was up to anything fishy but that there was something entrancing about them. Of course, something she'd never admit and would flat out deny above all else. He was smiling. Then, Xander did something unexpected, once again. Xander had taken what he had been busy messing around with earlier and slid it over to her. Brows furrowing in confusion, Saleth slowly broke the eye contact to peer down at what he had slid over to her. It was a small statue of herself in both her human and dragon forms.
Confused, Saleth couldn't help but peer at it in amazement. However, despite herself, she tried her best to simply look puzzled as she lifted it and examined it. She feigned a look of uncertainty about the statue before bringing her gaze back onto Xander. Just why was he giving her this? Before she could even ask, Xander mentioned that it had been his way of thanking her once more for helping him find a Gummi Ship. He also added that it was his way of hoping that this wouldn't be the last time they saw each other. 'That's it, he hurt his head alright,' Saleth thought to herself before what he said to her next.
"Wh-WHAT?! G-Go with you where?!" Saleth exclaimed before shaking her head. Not shaking her head at Xander but shaking her head as if to clear her mind of her confusion and obvious embarrassment. Her face, not for the first time today, had flared up again in response. This human was driving her nuts! Her momentary confusion and embarrassment was soon replaced with venom as she stood up. "If you think I'm as easy as some of your kind's females, you've another thing coming, buddy!" she growled. If Xander payed close attention, he'd notice that she didn't say exactly no to him either. Of course, Saleth didn't realize this. She was just trying to put on a front to keep him at bay like she always did with others. The more aggressive she remained, the less likely someone would try to get close to her.
"Simple trinkets like these aren't going to make me love you in a fortnight!" Saleth went on, having lifted up the statue he had made. Turning away from him, she walked toward the trash bin. She had every intention to throw it in there to dash everything with this strange human male but when she forced her hand, her hand wouldn't let go of the little trinket. In fact, a large part of her wanted to keep it! 'Damn it, this human's getting to me!' she thought angrily. Since she had her back turned to him, it easily could seem as though she had thrown the statue away when she had hurriedly hid it away so he wouldn't know that she still had it. It would be a shame to just toss something like that. It had been beautifully crafted. She didn't think that such a thing would look so nice with her on it. After all, she thought all of her scarring had diminished her human appearance to others and would make her repulsive.
Regaining her self composure, Saleth folded her arms as she glared up at Xander when she turned around to face him. Honestly, she was wary of Xander. No one had shown her such interest before and it unsettled her because she wasn't used to this sort of attention. In fact, she wasn't even sure how to react toward him. Needless to say, the trip on the Gummi Ship was going to be extremely awkward for her, if not for the both of them. How was she going to even hide the damn thing now that he somehow got her to like it?
"If you're finished, let us go so we can get you that Gummi Ship."
(OOC: Feel free to control where they go to next if you want since I know you still had something you wanted to do on this world first before they went on the Gummi Ship.)
