It was just so…quiet, nothing but the sound of her red leather boots occasionally splashing through puddled streets. The citizens of the world had been told to stay inside and keep safe until all of the, what were they called…Yana, Yama? It didn’t really matter what they were called, everyone had been told to stay inside until these monsters had been exterminated. She wasn’t really too sure as to why the master had sent her on this mission above all else, it seemed a pretty meager job for her standing. All she could assume was that there was probably someone in the town he didn’t want compromised.
The sooner she could be done with this, the sooner she could be back at base. Taking a moment to pull on her hood so that it was in proper position and her face was concealed, Trish swung the doors to the second district open. Again, only silence greeted her. Strange, weren’t they supposed to be attracted to humans? She didn’t think the parasites would be smart enough for an ambush, but she kept her hand on the hilt of her swiss sabre just in case as she began to walk the perimeter of the district. It was only a matter of time before she found them, this was probably just the calm before the storm.

The silence was deafening as David emerged from his Corridor of Darkness into the eternal night of Traverse Town. He had been briefed about the situation, but the lack of people still unnerved him somewhat after the bustle of Radiant Garden. A small flick of his wrist severed the swirling portal as he quietly emerged from the alley and approached the fountain. These Youma seemed completely different from the Heartless and Nobodies he usually fought, especially since they infected and controlled humans. He was very glad his sister wasn't here. She never did well when it came to killing things. Truth be told, David didn't like killing any more than her, but he at least could recognize when it was necessary and act on it.
A quick glance showed that not even the usual Shadow Heartless were out tonight, most likely since everyone was holed up indoors. The only ones out tonight were David, the Youma, an an unknown aura in the outskirts of the district. Reasoning that the new aura must be another hunter, David started in that direction. Hopefully, the Youma would sense the two and reveal themselves. It would save a lot of trouble, and would prevent any more deaths. Still, he was a little concerned about fighting something he'd never seen before. If things want south, he might have to use that, and he hated cleaning up the mess later.

((If you want I’ll let you take control of the Youma since you know more about them and their mannerisms.))
Trish head shot up as she noted the first out of ordinary event of the night. An aura had suddenly appeared in the other end of the district…could it be? No, the aura wasn’t nearly ominous enough to be one of the parasites. What was a civilian doing out in the streets? Trish immediately ran for the edge of the tiered walkway to get a better feel on the man that was approaching the fountain.
”Sir!” Trish called out as she swung herself over the second level of the district and onto the ledge of the fountain. ”Get back to your place of residency, it’s not safe right now!” It would have never crossed her mind that another mercenary would be called out on this mission, so this man’s decision to be wandering the streets only seemed to irritate the hooded woman.
”Kupo!”
Was that a…moogle she just heard? Trish thought the parasite only infected humans, but the aura surrounding it wasn’t right as it began to make its way seemingly from the gear shop. Though the creature was still a good distance away she drew her swiss sabre and summoned a dark orb to her hand, she didn’t want to chance somehow being infected by it. She still wasn’t very familiar with how these things worked, so it was best to take precautionary measures. ”Go on, go.” She shooed the stranger once more, never averting her attention from the new threat.

((They're pretty much just cocky and sadistic, and if more than one shows up it will be difficult to post them all. How about we trade off control? Each time one of us posts, we ad the Youma's next action to the end. If there end up being several, then I'll post for the ones fighting Trish, and you can post for the ones fighting David. Sound fair?))
David glanced at the irritated huntress in confusion as she tried to scold him into hiding. Why would he want to go inside with all the normal people? Then his brain clicked into gear, triggering a smirk and a low chuckle as he took a step toward the misguided women. Right as he opened his mouth to explain though, a moogle appeared across the plaza.
At least it looked like a moogle.
That aura was nothing close to that of a normal moogle, instead being filled with bloodlust and malice. The smirk slid into a frown as David realized what he was staring at. "Huh. Apparently Youma can infect more than just humans. Looks like my job just got a bit harder." With that, he drew the amethyst blade from his back just as the orb appeared in his ally's hand. David looked at it oddly for just a moment, then muttered a bit as he unveiled his own aura, causing Light and Darkness to merge into Twilight within the crystal sword. "Never though I'd meet another Darkness user that didn't want to kill me... Guess I owe Jason that 20 munny."
Meanwhile, the Youma/moolge had stopped halfway between the gear shop and the two warriors. Moments later the diminutive creature twisted outward into the grotesque form of a true Youma. Standing over 7 feet tall, the monster's overall appearance was lanky and bestial, with dark brown skin and claws replacing the fingers. The Youma's yellow eyes, slit like a cat's, gleamed with a predatory intelligence as it gazed at its potential victims hungrily. Its pointed teeth briefly appeared as it licked its lips in anticipation.
"Well well well, look what we have here! A couple of humans looking to play hero huh?" The thing rasped out a laugh and pointed to the two fighters, clearly unable to sense their power. "You look tasty, especially the woman there. I'm going to enjoy this!"
With that, the Youma sprang forward toward them, right arm back for a raking blow on the chest of what it thought was the easier prey, the woman. Even if the armored male got an attack off, its regeneration would kick in as long as its head was fine.

((Sounds good to me ^.^ whenever you want another showing up I’ll go ahead and tae it over. Your call when it shows up.
Oh also as a not since you might be rp'ing with me for awhile. Whenever I use italics it means thoughts.))
Job? So this man had been hired for the same mission she had, he wasn’t a civilian after all. Trish took a moment to inspect him a little closer. She couldn’t make out whether the man was dark or light oriented like most people he was…like a mix of some sort. Odd. The strangers aura put the woman off a bit, she couldn’t get a good enough reading to tell whether she should trust him or not.
”What is that supposed to mean?” Trish was blatantly skeptical of her apparent ally as he made some sort of retort about the magic she wielded. ”Not all wielders of dark magic are bad you know”Not like you’re the best example of that. Hey, I’m not the bad guy here! Yes you are, you’re a terrible person. Shut up!Heads up.
Trish had been so distracted by the voice in her head that she hadn’t even realized the seemingly harmless Moogle transform into a much larger, much more menacing monster. Now that seemed to match its aura a bit better. She only caught the tail end of his presumptuous speech as he commented on how delicious of a treat she would be. Gross, not today.
Trish stood stock still as the monster lunged for her as if to defeat her in one simple blow. She moved at the last possible moment, smoothly side stepping the creatures claw as she swung her sabre upwards with enough force to slice through flesh and bone. While the creature’s momentum was still in the direction of the fountain’s wall the woman quickly reached down with her hand that still had the orb and grabbed a short dagger from her left boot. The moment she touched the poison tipped blade her dark energy fused with it. Before the creature had time to turn around she had flung it as hard as she could at close proximity into its back before leaping off of the ledge and towards her so called ally, listening to the sound of the monster’s hand splash in the fountain as she distanced herself. Now at a safer distance she could turn her attention to the man next to her. Hopefully he wouldn’t turn around and start attacking her as well.
”You’ve hunted these things before I’m guessing?” Trish pulled at her hood once more before summoning another dark orb to her free hand. She wasn’t used to having anyone with her on a mission before and it just didn’t feel right. Why did they have to hire more than one person? Surely this wasn’t that big of a job.
Trish didn’t know much about these Youma things so she was surprised by the amount of intelligence this parasite presented. She had expected some sort of shambling zombie like creature, not the fast paced sadistic monster that had presented itself. Maybe tonight was going to be a little more interesting than she had previously anticipated.

((I'll introduce another one at the end of this post, since these normal ones honestly aren't enough of a challenge for both characters if they team up.))
David leveled his blade toward the now wounded Youma as he verbally backpedaled, surprised that she had heard him. The LAST thing he needed was to piss off his only ally. "I didn't mean it like that! My best friend uses Darkness too! It's just that the only others I've found were a 1000 year old demon and a mad scientist, and they both tried to kill me." As he was finishing, the creature finally attacked, moving quite a bit faster than David expected.
Still, he had nothing to worry about as the woman easily executed a graceful dodge and counter. As she landed, he noticed something strange about her aura. It's almost as if there are two auras there... He shook the thought out of his head as she spoke to him again. "Nope, never even heard of them before yesterday. The client seemed to know a lot about them though. About all I know is that they infect and feed off of people, and..." He now pointed at the Youma, currently pulling the dagger from its back with its left hand. It's right hand was almost back to normal only a little over a minute after it was sliced off. "Apparently they can regenerate rather quickly."
The Youma tossed the bloody dagger into the fountain with a growl, flexing its new hand as it finished healing. It was now obvious that these two were stronger than it had thought. It showed its teeth in a feral grin as it taunted them. "Not bad, little woman. Too bad though, you can't kill me like that!"
The beast decided to change its tactics, and pointed its hand at the hooded girl. It's fingers stretched out like demonic tendrils toward her, intending to skewer her through the head and torso. It knew that it couldn't take on both warriors at once, but soon it wouldn't have to...
Another Youma, nearly identical to the first, jumped from a nearby rooftop, landing with a thud a little ways away.
