The world of Pylaeis. A glorious world. It was lush and peaceful, filled with denizens who had known few wars and blessed with prosperity. It was advanced enough in both technology and magic that it enjoyed much comforts that modern people had or would even be jealous of, yet they did not go to war with one another. Why would they, when resources and knowledge and talent were always freely exchanged? There was a turbulent time, though, when the forces of hell and heaven possessed the world and fought over it, but that period had passed. But the visitors did not leave - rather, they ingratiated themselves into the world.
For the longest time, Kenji, the ruler of both Heaven and Hell, had pondered where to set his headquarters. He could set it up neither in Heaven nor in Hell themselves - that would be showing favoritism towards one or the other. He chose one of the 'mortal' worlds, but it was hard finding which one. He had finally settled on Pylaeis. The peaceful denizens had no wish to fight and so Kenji had made sure none of his forces ransacked them or disturbed their peace any more than necessary, promising swift retribution to any who did. The residual magic, trade infrastructure, and remoteness of the world also made it perfect for economical and tactical reasons. All in all, it was the perfect world.
The capital city itself rested on a large piece of floating rock. It was splendid and intimidating - sky-high walls bordered the city, punctuated with towers that fluctuated with magical energies waiting to blast any intruders asunder, lined with soldiers, each of them well-trained. Some even had centuries of training. Within, people bustled about their business. Nobles met with fellow nobles to discuss politics or played their power games. Merchants did what they could do earn more coin. Trademen plied their trade and used it how they could. It was a prosperous place, a city fitting for the capital city of an empire that spanned a multitude of worlds.
However impressive the city was, though, it was eclipsed by the palace, which towered over all. Large and regal, yet foreboding. The towers reached the very skies and the walls stood as tall as the city walls themselves. This was the place of power for the empire, where the greatest lords and advisers maneuvered and manipulated, where the greatest warriors and fighters trained and stood ready for duty, where the greatest mages and scholars could immerse themselves in their pursuit of knowledge. It was no easy place to breach.
For this was the residing place of Kenji Chan, the Emperor of both Heaven and Hell, the ruler of the Empire of Eternity.
Kenji was currently not in his throne, but in his office, figuring out some battle reports. Beside that sat a stack of papers on current taxes, and beside THAT were invitations and requests of an audience from emissaries from god-knows-how-many worlds. Honestly, most of the work that consisted of being an Emperor was paperwork. This office saw far more use than his throne room ever did. And that wasn't including the various emergencies that Kenji was often called upon to deal with, giving him even more work. He sighed.
Although he was known as one of the greatest warriors, this work was still difficult, tedious, and mind-numbing. Well, complaining wasn't going to help. He kept working, reading through the reports and processing them.

Sora had ended up in a strange new world. Well the world was new to him at least. One thing he did notice about this world was that it was very peaceful. There wasn't a sign of nobody or heartless to be found. Not even a sign of a current war as far as he could tell. One thing he also noticed was how beautiful the world was.
Not being around anyone Sora started walking, trying to find a city of some sort. There had to be some type of people in this world right? After walking for some time he saw the capital city in the distance. He couldn't mame it out completely but he could tell it was a city. " So people do live in this world." He said. " Maybe they'll tell me what world this is."
As he got closer he could finally see that the city was on a floating rock. " Aw man, how am I gonna get up there?" He asked himself. He used his hand to cover his face from tne sun as he looked up at the floating city. From where he was he could make out the very high walls and towers. He could also make out a line of figures. Clearly they had to be people who let people into the city. That or everyone in this world could fly. " Hey! You up there!" Sora yelled. He wasn't sure if they would be able to hear him from up there.

Below the floating city was a settlement that had only recently been created. It was a trading center for the people on the ground, and to transport goods up to the capital. It was currently small, but it was rapidly developing, and it would soon be a sprawling metropolis for commerce, trade... and of course, war. Many things were already set in place, though, such as transportation up to the capital, as well as shops, businesses, homes, and such like. A patrolling guard who was at the outskirts saw Sora and heard him yell. "You there, adventurer!" he called out. "If you're looking for a way up, head into the city there! You'll find transportation!" With that, he continued on his way... and contacted the capital.
Kenji was still working away (he was signing a few forms for tax changes) when a few minutes later, one of his Paladins burst in. Kenji looked up and saw he looked a bit anxious. "What is the matter, Paladin Olorin," he asked, giving his subject his full attention. "It's keyblade master Sora, my lord. He has been spotted on the ground and may soon be coming up here," he replied. Kenji blinked in response. Well, he certainly hadn't expected that. "Has he done anything hostile or anything warranting worry?" Kenji asked. The Paladin shook his head. "So far, he just wants a way up," came the reply.
He sighed as he thought of what to do. "As long as he doesn't cause trouble for us, I see no reason why we should do so for him. Monitor him closely and let him roam as he will. I'll invite him later to speak to him." Olorin blinked. "My lord, are you sure that's wise? He might oppose your goals, and you would bringing him straight here, bypassing all our defenses - he would wreak absolute havoc before he could be stopped." Kenji raised a hand at his protests. "I understand your concern, Paladin Olorin," he replied calmly. "However, I know Sora's type. If we do not cause him any trouble, he shall not do so in return. I merely wish to speak to him, and though he is young and brash, he will be peaceful given the chance. It will be fine." Paladin Olorin hesitated, then bowed. "As you will, my lord," he said subserviently before leaving. Kenji sighed.
He wondered how this will go...?

Sora looked at the man who told him where to go. So Sora was right, there was a way into the city... another city. So far he had been to stranger worlds and did sillier things. He called out back to the man. " Ok, thanks!" He then looked ahead of him to the other city. It was smaller than the floating one, and looked fairly newer than it too.
Since the only way to go up there was through this city, Sora started walking wraping his hands behind his head. He really wanted to see what the floating city looked like from the inside. When he reached the city he saw all the different places that were already here. From what he saw this city was too different from the ones in other worlds he's been in. Aside from being below a floating one that is.
Now all that was left was to find a way up to the city above. The guard who told him how to get up never did tell him what type of transportation he had to use, which meant he wss on his own to find it. He started walking down the streets of the town, looking around. He finally stopped when he came to a shop. "Excuse me, but can you tell me how to get up to the city up there?" He asked.

Excuse me, but can you tell me how to get up to the city up there?
The shopkeeper, a squinty-eyed man, looked over and grinned. "Well, today's your lucky day, kiddo! You found just the right place!" He nodded towards a gummi ship he had in the back. "I take deliveries and cargo up to the city in the clouds! I make a lotta trips for both goods and people! It's pretty common, cuz you can't get in by yourself. You wanna ride, no prob! It's 100 munni for a one-way trip!" With that, he opened the hatch doors to the Gummi ship and motioned Sora to get in. Of course, he wouldn't actually fly without being paid first.
Of course, if Sora tried to get in, he would instantly draw the anti-air defenses that surrounded the city and would probably be obliterated before he could even blink if he tried to force his way in. In short, the only way in and out of the city were by official channels. Not even teleportation spells would work, as there were anti-teleportation wards dispersed all throughout the capital city - and the settlement below it, to prevent an enemy army simply popping into the city. The people and magicians who planned this city took great lengths to prevent such a thing.
Meanwhile, there were a few people tailing Sora. They were expertly trained to not be found, but they had strict orders: Watch, but do not interfere. And so they kept a silent but constant vigil on him, watching his every move.

( And I thought airport security was tight! Jesus tap dancing christ)
It seemed Sora came to the right place. This guy had a gummi ship that he used to get up there for delivering goods and people. There was one problem, it was one hundred munni. " What? You mean it's not free? Uh ok." Sora thought it would be free to get up there. He never had to pay to get somewhere before. But this wasn't a problem for Sora, he had plenty of munni. For some reason heartless, nobodies, and dreameaters dropped it when they were killed. It was weird but he never complained. It came in handy for times like these.
Sora looked through his pockets, trying to find mummy. He finally found some in his right pocket. He gave the man the one hundred munni. Then Sora thought about something. He never saw a floating city before. He didn't see anything that was keeping it afloat. " I was wondering..... how does that city stay up there? Aren't the people up there worried about it falling?"

OOC: Really sorry for the long wait. Been busy. And what'd you expect the capital city of a ridiculously powerful empire? XD
IC:
The man smiled as Sora handed him the munni. Indeed, there were plenty of services around that transported people up and down from the city - either from this settlement or from the other cities around the world. Of course, these WERE businesses, and people had to make their coin somehow. This stranger seemed to be wealthy enough at any rate to be able to get up there. As they boarded and began making preparations, the boy then asked him a question.
I was wondering..... how does that city stay up there? Aren't the people up there worried about it falling?
He blinked, then looked up to ponder. After a while, he shrugged. "Oh, some sort of magic, I guess. Things like that are far beyond me. I'm just a guy just trying to make a living, you know," he replied. A random stranger who probably knew very little, if anything, about magic was probably not the best to ask. But at any rate, the doors closed and they flew up. They had to fly from underneath the rock first, but once they did, they quickly gained altitude - and Sora would soon see they were not alone in the air. There were dozens of flying creatures, gummi ships, and the like flying back and forth in and out of the city in streams and routes. It was quite clear that it was the center of commerce, trade, and politics. "Welcome to the capital, kiddo!" he said cheerily as he began directing his gummi ship into one of the streams.
As they approached city walls, they noticed a lone gummi ship began flying towards the city without joining any of the streams. It seemed to be heading straight for something, though neither of them were sure what. As the ship crossed the threshold of the walls, an arc of lightning flashed from one of the towers lining the wall and obliterated the ship. The man winced. "Oi, when will idiots learn you can't get in without proper ID? I mean, sheesh!" he grumbled. He himself had flown past the walls with one of the streams... and seemed to be perfectly fine. Angling towards a port, he landed his ship on one of the empty spaces.
"Here's your stop. Welcome to the capital, kiddo!" he said cheerily. As the doors opened and Sora stepped out, he would see heaven-knows-how-many people of all different sorts of races. It was mainly people with white feathered wings or people with red or yellow eyes, but there were many creatures and people of all shapes and sizes. They all seemed to be somewhat civil - at least, as much as any semblance of normality would allow. The way in and out seemed to be a very large and long metal corridor. It was not a mere aesthetic placement - the walls were lined primarily with sensor magic, designed to get one's magical signature, detect weapons, and such like. The information is then funneled through to magical artifacts that archives and records the data. If it detected something amiss, the person was immediately stopped by a personal force field and someone would be there to speak with them - security, no doubt.
For someone like Sora, this security measure was guaranteed to stop him... if he wasn't already cleared by the order of the Emperor. But he was, so he could go in with impunity.

( don't worry about it, stuff happens)
The shopkeeper seemed to not know what kept the city up there. He guessed it was magic of some sorts. That was all Sora was probably going to get for an answer until he got up there, he seemed to just be a common man trying to earn his worth. There was probably little to no magic about him. At anyrate it had to be something, cities just don't float without something keeping them afloat.
When the gummi ship took off things seemed to go by slowly. That was until they got from under the city, that's when they really started flying. As they come closer to the city Sora looked out the window. The air was busier than Sora thought. There were countless things flying from gummi ships all the way to creatures. There seemed to all be following routes when flying. Clearly thisnplace was organized even when it come to how people fly.
When they got closer to the city Sora watched as a gummi ship was blasted to bits but lightning that came from one of the towers. It was then the shopkeeper said no one could get in without the right ID. Sora didn't remember showing any ID, or ever having one for that matter. It was a good thing he met the shopkeeper and didn't try to get in the city by himself, that could have been a disaster.
Soon after they landed in a port and parked in a empty spot. After the doors ooened and Sora stepped off Sora tur ed to the shopkeeper before he left. " Thanks again," he said. As Sora bagan walking he noticed something. All the people here were, very different. There were people with wings and even red and yellow eyes. Sora stopped for a moment. He knew a few people with yellow eyes. They were, not so nice to say the very least. But these people were different from them, in fact everyone here seemed civl.
As he started walking again he noticed evryone was going in and out of a strange metal corridor. They didn't seem very different from the dark corridors some people used, only these had some sort of sensor on them. It must be some sort of detector of some kind. What they were detecting Sora had no idea, but he was sure he could get throught them no problem. He did get into the city without being bkasted right out of the sky after all. Sora wasn't good with technology anyway, he couldn't even work a computer. It wasn't his fault, there wasn't that much technology on destiny islands.
He then remembered why he wanted to get up here in the first place. He wanted to see the beautiful city and make sure there weren't any heartless lurking around. So far this place seemed pretty peaceful, plus he doubted a heartless would get past the high security in this place. He was sure none of them had the right ID.He thought nothing more of the corridors and walked into one of them, not knowing what woukd happen next.

OOC: I meant that they were actual corridors, but whatever. XD
IC:
Thanks to Sora being given clearance ahead of time by the Emperor, he had no trouble through heading to the other side, or else he would've been teleported into a customs office. After all, who could blame them - he wielded a keyblade, powerful magics, and heaven knows what else. Someone like that would probably have to go through a rather strict customs process. But that didn't matter. With that, Sora was teleported into the city out of one of the many terminals that had let to the port - and it was probably bewildering to see at first.
Buildings that reached the sky, people and beings of all types everywhere, going about their business. It had a feel of both sci-fi and fantasy to it, as many things used magic to operate, be it vehicles, creatures, teleporters, or even small things like dispensing drinks. It was a huge city, and there were several people with vehicles and flying creatures that are meant for transportation services. There were shops all around - clothes, food, weapons, spells, and the like. At the very heart, even though it was distant, towering over all, was the palace. All in all, the entire place gave a feel of prosperity and business - the mood that a capital should have. After all, major businesses operated from it, and the seat of the government - or rather, the Emperor - was located here.
However, one thing Sora would quickly noticed was that his magic was greatly dampened. It was a security measure for all visitors to the city. Magic was an exceptionally powerful tool and weapon. No one could deny that. It had to be suppressed for the safety of the city. Only those authorized could use magic, and only then in limited amounts. The only ones who could freely use magic were the higher-ups, and that was because they were trusted to use their magic responsibly. It was a privilege, not a right. Kenji had made sure of that.
Speaking of Kenji, he had finished his paperwork and was pondering in his office. He had just received word that Sora had entered the capital. He decided to wait, letting him explore for a bit before inviting him over. He had things to do, and it was better for Sora to see some of his works before they spoke. It would be better for all that way.

( my bad lol )
When Sora stepped through the corridor he was transported. He ended up inside the actual city, and it was breath taking. From the sky high buildings to the diferent types of people all the way to the many different types of shops there was a lot to see to say the least. Sora had never seen a place like this before, it had a different kind of feel to it.
The most note worthy in the entire place was the palace that was in the center. It wasn't just the mere look of it but the way it stood over all others. There was no doubt that who ever lived there was very important, and powerful. For some reason when Sora came into the city he felt... different. He felt a little weaker somehow, it was like some of his magic was drained or cut off.
Whatever it was it wasn't going to ruin his day. He was about to see some sites! He didn't know where to begin, the buildings, the different shops, the palace he wanted to see them all! He decided to leave the palace for last, he had a feeling it was gonna be the best of all. With his arms wrapped behind his head he started walking through the city.
Sora couldn't believe his eyes. He went browsing through all the shops. They seemed to have it all. Weapons, food, clothes, spells, you named it they had it. Although they all looked very good, ne decided not to buy anything. He still needed to pay one hundred mummy to get back to tne ground after all. He only went window shopping for now.
From the shops he went to have a look around at tbe different buildings, passing a few transportation services along the way. Just the size of them were amazing, they seemed to reached the sky. He had only seen buildings like this twice, and both times he didn't have time to sight see. After a while there wa only one place left, tne palace. He started to head towards tne palace.

As Sora walked through the city on his way to the palace, he would quickly notice that among the citizens bustling about, there were no shortage of soldiers also patrolling the streets in groups of four. Marching in unison, they were clad in armor that also concealed their faces and were well-armed. In fact, the city has quite a few patrols, and not just on the ground but in the air too. It was quite obvious security was a very important issue here, but it wasn't just to protect the capital. Honestly, the denizens of heaven and hell still felt quite a bit if animosity towards one another, and that's not including those from other worlds who were disgruntled at having to do anything with the empire. They were there to also preserve the peace, and the large number if security personnel was quite necessary.
It was quite a long walk to the palace, allowing Sora to see other areas as well - areas for entertainment and recreation, various businesses and offices, landmarks and libraries and suchlike. This was not just a capital - no small number of people lived here as well. They worked there, ate there, lived there. It was a home to countless denizens. But nevertheless, thanks to all the security, there was a slight air of tension that came from the security. It probably couldn't be helped.
The first thing Sora would notice upon reaching the palace was the gigantic wall that surrounded it. There was a humongous gate that was open, allowing visitors in and out. Once he stepped in, he would be in the courtyard, which was teeming with people - tourists, people with grievances, emissaries, nobles and lords, and such like. Another set of gates allowed people into the palace itself. It led to the throne room, which, while large, honestly was less awe-inspiring than one would expect a throne room to have. White crystals were fitted into braces in the wall while the room was naturally lighted from the sunlight shining through the large windows. A simple long red carpet stretched from the entrance to the throne. The throne itself was merely a large, cushioned chair with arm rests, fashioned out of what seemed to be steel and some sort of black metal. It wasn't even on some raised pedestal. Instead, it was on the ground. Hanging from the ceiling behind the throne was a large red banner, with the symbol of the Empire emblazoned on it - an eagle holding twin swords, one with a white blade, and the other a black blade.
Meanwhile, as he looked around, someone approached. She looked to be a tall young woman in her twenties, but her eyes belied an age far beyond what simple appearances suggest. She was beautiful, but in a cold sort of way, and her movements were contained, as if not wasting a single motion. She wore bright silver armor but no helmet, allowing her short, platinum blonde hair to shine in the sunlight. Her steel-gray eyes focused on Sora as she approached him. When she got close enough, she called, "Keyblade master Sora?" Her voice was strictly contained as much as her movements. She bowed to him. "I am Paladin Claire, one of those that protect the Empire and guards it's interests. Our lord, the Emperor, says he would be delighted to meet you. Would you like to meet him?" Her eyes nor expression betrayed nothing as she waited for the answer.

As he got closer to the palace Sora noticed something. To say there were a lot of soldiers in the city would be an understatement. They were all in groups of four on the ground and up in the air. All of their faces were covered up and they were packing. " Guess the crime rate is really low, if there is any at all," he said to himself. Something had to happen in the past to cause all these security measures, that or they didn't want anything to happen from day one. Which one it was Sora had no idea.
Because of how long the walk was to the palace, Sora started to look around as he was going. There were many different areas in this city that seemed to serve a different purpose. Entertainment, jobs, libraries, you named it therpy had their own area. This place was very organized from its security all the way to how it was built.
After some time Sora finally reached the palace. A giant wall surrounded it, but there was a large gate for people to use. When he pasted the gate he made it into the courtyard that was filled with many different kinds of people. There seemed to be a lot of upper class and plain vistors here. Looks like Sora wasn't the obly one who had the idea to have a look at the palace. He then noticed the second pair gates that led into the palace itself. That's where he went.
Taking his first steps into the palace itself his breath was nearly taking away. He was in the throne room. The throne room wasn't too flashy, but it was still impressive. Even the throne itself was impressive, but it looked like it was barely used. In fact there was no one sitting in it when he got there. Who ever ruled here must have been busy with other matters. What reallly caught Sora's eye was tne flag that was behind the throne. It had an eagle that was holding two swords. One of them was white and the other was black.
The flag itself gave the impression of a balance between light and darkness. While he was admiring the place someone had walked up to him. It was a young woman, well young in a sense. Everything about her looked young expect for her eyes. She was wearing silver armor but no helmet unlike the rest of the security in the city. When she got close she called out to him. It seemed she was making sure Sora was Sora. " Y-Yes that's me!" He told her. She then bowed to him and said sne was a paladin named Claire. From what she said the paladins protected the empire and guarded it's interests. The Emperor, who ruled over this empire wanted to meet with him. Just what did the emperor want from him, and how did he know him? He had never been to this world before, he would remember being in a place like this. Despite not knowing anything about him, Sora did want to meet him. " Would I?! I mean, yes of course."

Would I?! I mean, yes of course.
Claire nodded and began leading Sora away from the throne room. She went with him to one of the hallways that was guarded at the entrance, but the guard simply stepped away to let them pass. As they traveled through the hallways, the noise from the crowd became slowly more subdued until they entirely vanished. The only thing that could be heard was them walking down the hallways. Occasionally, people passed by talking to each other or simply going about their business - some looked like nobles, other warriors, and no small number seemed to be servants. They spared no more than a glance at Sora and Claire before they continued on their way. The hallways were rather plain, sometimes lit by sunlight, other times lit by those white crystals that glowed softly with light, but that was about it.
There were a few flights of stairs, but instead of taking them, Claire led Sora into a small, circular chamber whose ceiling wasn't even visible. As they stepped on it, Claire tapped a crystal that stood on the pedestal in the center of the room. The entire floor began rising up, with them on it. The walls were lined with windows, allowing Sora to see their rapid ascent to the upper levels. After a good number of floors, the floor finally stopped, allowing them to disembark. More hallways later, they stepped outside to the garden. It was an odd garden - large and rectangular, the entire border was lined with glass panels and alcoves, allowing one to have a great view of the city from very high up. One half of the garden was a beautifully tended garden, filled with all sorts of flora that obviously was taken care of by a master. The other half was a zen garden - the white sand combed into intricate patterns around the rocks strewn about and in straight lines. On the far side of the zen garden was a large, rectangular piece of land - a sparring ground.
Nearby one of the glass panels, there was a table and a few chairs, and there sat a young man. He turned to look at them. He couldn't have been any older than Sora himself, but there was something... tired and cynical about his gaze, something that contrasted Sora sharply. The one who sat there was the Emperor himself. He wore his normal clothes - black t-shirt with jeans and sneakers. There was little need to look formal or establish himself as superior - that was not his intention.
Claire bowed to Kenji. Kenji nodded and said, "thank you, Paladin Claire." Claire then went to stand nearby as a guard while Kenji gestured to Sora to sit down across from him. "Please sit, keyblade master Sora. No doubt you're a bit tired from wandering about, looking around my city."

As Claire took him to see the Emperor, a guard stepped out of their way to let them by without saying a word. Sora felt like a very important person here. First he gets into the city without the right id, then the Emperor not only knows his name but wanted to see him. Did he help this world without remembering it? There seemed to be an endless supply of hallways in this place, as there seemed to be an supply of servants. They only gave the two a look before going on with their lives. Looks like Sora wasn't the big celebrity he thought he was around here.
There were stairs but they didn't take them. Instead they went into some kind of chamber. The ceiling was so high they couldn't even see it. Claire pushed a crystal and they began to go up with the floor. They went pass many levels until the floor finally stopped and out they went. After even more countless hallways they made it outside into a garden. At his very first look at it Sora could tell this was no ordinary garden. There were glass panels all around, that had a great view of the city. Hakf of the garden was an actual garden that had great care, the other half was something Sora had never seen in a garden before. It was white sand that had patterns on it. There were also rocks around it in straight lines.
Past all that seemed to be a training ground. Even Emperors had to make sure they still had it Sora thought. Sora's gaze fell upon a table that had a few chairs and a young man sitting there. He turned to the two of them. He didn't look any older than Sora, but there was something diferent about him. It was like he had been through a lot in his life. He wore pretty normal clothes, so he looked like a normal citizen to Sora. That was until Claire bowed to him. The man nodded and thanked her. After Claire left to stand guard the man's movement told Sora to sit across from him. He called him keyblade master Sora and said that he must have been tired from looking at his city. It was then Sora realized that this was the emperor. He bowed to him. As he came back up he went to sit down across from him. " Uh, thank you sir," he siad. " This is a really nice city but I have to ask you something. How do you know my name? Have I been here before?"

Kenji observed Sora intently. He seemed slightly bewildered by it all - coming to this city, given privileges a frost time outsider should never have... And the garden. True, Nome of these things were ordinary, but all in good time. He would satisfy Sora's curiosity and questions as time wore on. For now, he beckoned to a nearby servant. As they approached, Sora had begun responding.
Uh, thank you sir. This is a really nice city but I have to ask you something. How do you know my name? Have I been here before?
He shook his head in reply. "You have not or I would've invited you sooner," he replied. The tone Kenji spoke with was cool and formal, but one could tell that it wasn't from hostility. It was just the natural way he talked. His eyes abd face were also expressionless, so that he wouldn't betray any emotion to Sora. Once again, something that he did reflexively rather than out of any ill intent. "Your deeds have been known far and wide, Sora. Many know of your heroics, how you destroyed powerful beings that threatened myriad worlds, and how you never hesitate to help anyone. When I heard you had come to my city, I wished to meet you myself. Quite an honor, really."
Once again, no deviation in tone or expression. However, he was genuinely impressed with Sora. The things Sora had done were indeed quite spectacular - there was a reason the Paladins were on high alert as soon as they received news that he was around. They were ready to fight against Sora if needed, but he certainly wasn't going to do such a thing. Not unless it was necessary. "So tell me, what brings you to the capital today," he asked.

Sora was right, he's never been in this world until now. From what the Emperor said he was know through out many worlds because if what he has done. It seemed as soon as Sora came to the city the Emperor wanted to meet him. That explained a lot, how he got passed a lot of the security with no problem and how he already knew his name.
He said it was quite an honor. Sora thought about his past adventures, all the different worlds he's been to. They all involved helping people, and defeating those who wished to bring harm to others. The more he thought about it, the more this all made sense. The Emperor knew who he was and what he has done, so wanting to meet him wasn't out there. One thing Sora noticed was how the emperor spoke. His voice was calm and casual, like it was just another day at the office. He expressed no emotions. Maybe it was the kind of ruler he was. The kind that didn't show emotions except when he had too, or pushed over the edge.
He then asked why Sora came to his city. " Oh, I was just passing by," he told him. " What I was really looking for was if there were any heartless in this world. But seeing all the security here i guess they're not a problem at all." He then thought about that gummi ship being blasted right out of the sky. " Did something happen... to cause all the security measures? Is it still happening now?"

Oh, I was just passing by. What I was really looking for was if there were any heartless in this world. But seeing all the security here i guess they're not a problem at all.
Indeed, with all the soldiers and military not just in the city, but in the world, the heartless had absolutely no foothold. There were spells that prevented heartless from appearing in the city, and even if they managed to somehow get in via a summoning or other means, they were swiftly dispatched. After all, what were heartless compared to the holy magic of the Seraphim or the infernal magic of the Hellspawn? Of course, it was only possible by the sheer amount of organization and the military might of the empire.
Did something happen... to cause all the security measures? Is it still happening now?
Kenji blinked, then frowned slightly. "An empire and an emperor has its fair share of enemies, Sora," he explained calmly. "And because of the myriad uses of magic, we need to prepare for any eventuality. War has erupted before, and it probably will again before all is said and done. You may believe it's a little overkill, but believe me when I say it's necessary." A servant had come over and set poured out some tea for the two of them. Of course, since it was still hot, he didn't take a drink just yet.
"Tell me, though, Sora - why do you travel? Do you simply like having adventurers? Do you go places simply to seek out evil and destroy it? Or do you do so to protect people?" he asked. He might as well check. Talking to Sora was... oddly nostalgic. He felt like he was talking to a younger version of himself, a more idealistic, kinder, younger version, when he believed he could truly bring justice with his own blade and will alone. He had been naive. He clung to his ideals still, but he was too cynical to believe they could ever work as a hero.

When Sora told him it seemed heartless didn't seem to be a problem the emperor didn't respond. To be honest he didn't need to. Sora had seen the reason himself. All the security measures that he had seen, and the ones he hadn't seen did their job very well. Every guard seemed to know their job, and did it well. Everything was very organized and ran smoothly, like a well oiled fnely tuned machine.
When he asked if anything happened to cause it the emperor frowned very slightly. It now obvious that something indeed happened, but there wasn't a trace of it left. At least no trace Sora saw. He explained that an empire naturally has enemies, and because of what magic could do, they had to be prepared for anything that could happen. When he said that, the corridors and proper ID now made a lot of sense. There wasn't just one test of security people had to pass in order to even get into the city, but many different ones.
Sora was right about something happening, a war happened in the past. How long ago it happened Sora couldn't tell. There was also the possibility of it happening again. He thought about the time he spent in China, he remembered being in the army with Mulan. Even if war didn't happen after that, there was the possibility of it happening again there, no matter how peaceful it seemed. A servant came and brought tea for both of them, but it was way too hot for them to drink now.
The emperor then asked why did Sora travel. Sora had a tough time answering this one. Sora closed his eyes and began to think. He thiught about his very first adventure, how it first started just as a quest to find his friends. It turned out to span multiple worlds and helping people along the way. The same was for his second adventure. He opened his eyes, he had his answer. " Well at first it was just to see if there were other worlds out there," he told him. " But then it was to find my firends. Soon I went to many different worlds, and helped a lot of people along the way. Then I went back to those worlds and new ones not only just to find mt friends but to destroy those that wanted to harm people for their own gain. So I guess in the end it's a little bit of everything."

Well at first it was just to see if there were other worlds out there. But then it was to find my friends. Soon I went to many different worlds, and helped a lot of people along the way. Then I went back to those worlds and new ones not only just to find my friends but to destroy those that wanted to harm people for their own gain. Kenji nodded, lost in thought for a moment. He had done the same thing - went out adventuring, saved those in need and protected the innocent, both in old worlds and new. However, it seemed he and Sora had different goals than before. He had pursued evil and injustice to the ends of the universe to put them down and protect those in need. Sora was kindhearted and would indeed put down villains, but it almost felt like a secondary thing to him. He wasn't looking down on Sora, though - far from it. What Kenji did almost bordered on obsession.
Perhaps that was the reason why his ideals almost broke him.
"Those are good reasons," he replied softly. Kenji picked up the cup and ventured a small sip, before giving a slight wince - still too hot. Putting it down, he wondered about something. Sora was still young, and perhaps he still had quite a few adventures left in him. He pondered if he would continue with his adventures or perhaps soon retire... perhaps end up as a teacher to brand new adventurers and warriors? He didn't know. But he might as well ask.
"Have you considered one day just retiring and settling, Sora?" he asked. "Hanging up your keyblade, be with the ones you love? Perhaps do something like teach a new generation of keyblade wielders?"

When the emperor took a sip of his tea it was safe to say it was still too hot. He then asked Sora if he ever thought about retirement. Would he one day retire his keyblade and focus on spending time with his loved ones? Would he train other keyblade wielders. Sora had never thought about that. He was so focused on finding his loved ones he didn't think too much about the future. He had always pictured being stuck on the island, or just finding another world and staying there.
As for training he never thought about training someone else. He thought about Phil and Master Yen Sid. They both trained other people, but also had many years of experience. Phil was retired, but he did train Hercules and look how that turned out. He knew there were other keybladers out there in other worlds, but never thought about training others. If anything he pictured an older more experienced keyblade master training him some time later.
" I never thought about retiring anytime soon," he finally told him. " But I guess one day I'll have to. Everyone reaches a point where they slow down. When I reach that point I think there will be someone else who will be able to take my place. I don't think I'll hang uo my keyblade until I'm sure there's no need for it anymore, and when I do I will be with those I love. As for training other keybladers I think if someone else comes along planning to use kingdom hearts I guess I'll have to. If they want me to I will."
