Well, this looked like the place...
Lucinda glanced around the world she had arrived on; having never been here before, she hadn't really known what to expect. She noted immediately that this new world seemed to be rather dark, almost as though it was nighttime, but a glance up at the sky revealed that it was in fact still daytime, but pitch-black clouds almost entirely blotted out the sun. To the left of her were the outskirts of a woodland that seemed to consist mostly of dead, leafless trees, whilst the land out to her right opened out into a spacious, foggy open grassland. Besides herself, there was nobody else here, not yet... Well, except for the one and only person she trusted and thought highly of enough to bring with her on this occasion.
In truth, she had at first been reluctant to allow Saito to come with her on this little 'outing', which she knew was likely to be highly dangerous; she didn't want him getting hurt, especially not for her sake. However, she had relented when she realised that, regardless of what she told Saito to do, he would have followed her anyway, to make sure she was safe. They both new she was well capable of protecting herself, but he was still quite protective of her. All in all, Lucinda found that kind of sweet... Though she knew she would hate for him to end up harming himself in his efforts to ensure her safety.
Lucinda glance about her again; the person she was here to meet was not here yet, but would undoubtably show himself very soon. She thought back to earlier that day, when she had received a letter, detailing the location she should be at, at what time, precisely who it was from, and what they had to discuss. Normally, Lucinda wouldn't have heeded such a letter, but... It had said that, should she choose to go to the written location, she would be able to find out more about the passing of her parents. That was a temptation she simply could not resist. Thus, here she was; she was dressed in her usual attire, a sleek and graceful black-and-gold dress that both suited her figure well and was comfortable enough to move in, which would be essential if it came down to defending herself. Her golden-blonde hair was neat, as per usual, flowing past her shoulders and a little way down her back; it seemed she intended to be formal on this occasion.
"I hope this wasn't a mistake..." Lucinda whispered, just loud enough so that Saito could have heard her. "I just... If this person really knows something about the death of my parents, I really need to hear it."

Why, oh why did he allow Lucinda to come here...?
Saito had followed Lucinda to the location. He had come here against all his instincts and common sense. When Lucinda first showed him the letter, he had debated with her about it, telling her that it was an obvious trap and this information was just bait. However, she had insisted, and therefore Saito insisted that he come along with her to keep her safe. In retrospect, though, he wondered why he came. He didn't have any combat ability - the only weapon he had was a trench knife he had on his belt. He wouldn't be of any use - he'd just be a burden to her. Yet, he loved Lucinda dearly - he couldn't just do nothing while she did this.
He wore his usual gear - white t-shirt, black unzipped vest, jeans and sneakers. His green eyes peered nervously around at the area. The trees, the fogged area, the dark storm clouds that obscured almost all light... This place was secretive. If they got killed here, nobody would know. Nobody would ever find them. This place was the perfect location for a secret meeting - mainly because whatever happened here, no one would ever find out. He gulped. This was really a bad idea, yet he was already here and he doubted he could persuade Lucinda to leave after coming this far. He just hoped it didn't end in their deaths.
I hope this wasn't a mistake... I just... If this person really knows something about the death of my parents, I really need to hear it.
He blinked and nodded, and despite the rapidly-rising panic within him, he forced out a small smile. "I-It'll be okay," he said, keeping his voice quiet and small both out of caution and nervousness. "W-We just find w-what we need, t-then we get outta here a-as fast a-as we can. J-just keep your g-guard up." With that, he gave her a quick kiss on the cheek before withdrawing a small distance away and crouching in the shadow of a tree, hoping to remain unseen. He wondered if it would do any good, but every little helps. Upfront combat would probably get him killed anyway.

Lucinda smiled a little at Saito, comforted by his presence with her. She knew he very much doubted his strength or competency in combat; in all honesty, however, she thought he was far stronger than he himself believed. She had told him so before, and would continue to tell him that, but she had doubts that he would believe her any time soon, which was rather unfortunate. Not that his strength or skill in battle mattered to her, anyway. What mattered to her was the fact that he had been of great help and kindness to her in the time they had been together. He had assisted her greatly, in a number of ways... Ways she would be eternally grateful for.
Her thoughts were interrupted as she heard movement nearby; looking ahead, she could see what appeared to be two figures emerging from the thick fog. Wait...two of them? She had thought there would just be one of them. But the greatest surprise came when the figures came into full view, coming to a halt about twelve feet away. Neither of the two figures were human, much to her surprise and puzzlement. Instead, she found herself face-to-face with what looked to be a small wyvern, perhaps a juvenile specimen, and...a large, fox-like canine of some kind, a creature that she believed to be called a Kitsune, although she had never seen one before in her time. The oddest thing about the two creatures facing her by far, however, was their heads...both of them appeared to be wearing some sort of metal device on their skulls, part of which seemed to actually go inside their brain cavity. Were they being...controlled? Lucinda didn't have time to wonder about it, however... The creature she suspected to be a Kitsune spoke, in a distinctly human voice.
Master told us you would be here... Lucinda, isn't it? She who came for information, information that Master does indeed have...but that you will never know.
Lucinda blinked, confused and surprised at what she was hearing. That confusion translated back to alarm, however, as the Kitsune nodded to the Wyvern, which gave a savage hiss and charged forward to attack, whilst its canine comrade hung back and observed for the moment. Lucinda reacted as quickly as she could; summoning her katana to hand, she darted to one side as the winged reptile came near to her, and slashed. The wyvern shrieked in pain as Lucinda's blade drew blood. However, unfortunately for her...this seemed more to anger it than actually damage it. It lunged again, quicker than she had been expecting, and she dodged to the side...
...she yelped out, sharply, as its sharp teeth sunk into the flesh of her shoulder, drawing blood. Another slash from her katana managed to make the beast stumble back a little; Lucinda raised a hand to her wound, then examined her fingers. Her eyes widened as she saw the blood on them; however, intent on not letting that slow her down, she readied herself again, as the creature snarled at her.
"You've made a big mistake..." Lucinda softly uttered to it, as it redied itself for another charge.

Honestly, Saito never thought he was strong - how could he? He was painfully aware that he was just an ordinary boy without any combat experience, training, or skills. He couldn't defend his parents when they were killed - he couldn't even turn right back around and take down their killers. All he really did was run, and kept running. Lucinda had fallen in love with him for his gentle nature and dorky charm, but he couldn't help from time to time to feel that it was somewhat... misplaced. He always wondered if someone else would be far better for her, someone more noble and powerful...
He heard movement, and shrunk down a bit to hide himself better. He peered cautiously around the tree... and his eyes widened as he saw who came. Half-human hybrids? What? And those metal things embedded in their head... Great. These guys were just underlings, and no doubt whoever was behind all this was watching Lucinda from some secure location. Maybe through the eyes of his minions? Well, no matter. Still, Saito thought there would be more. Sending only those two as an ambush.. that meant either they were really good or the mastermind was underestimating them. He prayed to all the gods that it was the latter.
Saito's eyes widened as the reptile thing attacked... and drew blood even though Lucinda dodged. Instantly, rage filled him as he glared at the creature. He moved to grab his knife, ready to slaughter him. Then, Saito blinked. His body had calmed down though the anger still burned within. Another mind had taken over, one that can handle the anger more readily... yet still angry it was for those who hurt Lucinda.
Stepping out from behind the tree, he stood openly and said in a calm yet cold voice, "You cravens shall suffer for that." With that, he summoned a beautiful two-handed sword - a glowing weapon fit for a king. With that, he charged at them. If any of them expected him to be easy prey, they were mistaken - despite the size of the weapon, he was fast and efficient with his blade, moving quickly, parrying blows and countering them. It was clear that he was no novice of fighting.

Lucinda glanced behind her as she heard Saito step out... His tone was steady and sure, and yet dangerously threatening towards the two opponents. His eyes carried the same calm yet rageful glint within them, primarily directed at that moment towards the wyvern that had bitten her. The weapon he carried...was, oddly enough, one Lucinda had never seen him wield before, which struck her as quite odd. All in all, though Lucinda wasn't entirely sure why she got the feeling, she felt that there was something different about him. She knew him well, thanks to them having spent so much time together; here and now, however, he almost seemed like an entirely different person. A totally different person altogether.
But that can't possibly be true...right?
As Saito charged forward, the Wyvern attempted to slash at him with one of the claws on its wings. Saito's blade parried the blow, however, and the reptile instead darted backwards just out of reach. It snarled, the traces of Lucinda's blood dripping from its dagger-like teeth, glaring between its two targets. The second creature, the Kitsune that seemed to be the wiser of the two beasts, continued to hang back, although it had now begun to slowly circle them, observing them carefully.
My, my... This was unexpected. It seems killing you might not be as easy as we had thought, miss.
The wyvern telepathically spoke, allowing itself to be heard by both Lucinda and Saito. It glanced between the two of them, every muscle in its body poised, ready for it to pounce or attack without further warning, though for now it stood still. The circling Kitsune came to a stop once again, for now standing about twenty feet behind its reptilian 'comrade'. This creature seemed more cold and calculating than the fiercely aggressive dragon-like creature. The Wyvern glanced at Lucinda one more time, licking a little of her blood from its lips before directing its hostile glare at Saito.
So, he who protects Lady Lucinda, do tell... Who are you?

Saito merely stood between them and Lucinda, his gaze never wavering or wandering from the two. He couldn't risk looking back at Lucinda and checking if she was alright. If he showed an opening, they would exploit it and both of them would be doomed. Still, he had watched through his host's eyes long enough to know that Lucinda was strong. She wasn't seriously injured - if anything, it was a flesh wound. It needed to be tended to, but it wasn't anything dire at the moment.
So, he who protects Lady Lucinda, do tell... Who are you?
For a moment, he debated with himself - should he give his host's name, considering he was using his body, or his own identity? He stuck with the latter - he was known as the king of knights, and the rules of chivalry and honor bid him to speak his name as a challenge to those would go against and those he cared for. "I am Arthur of Camelot," he said, his voice ringing out like steel. "And you, creature. Who or what are you - either of you? And who sent you? Speak!"
