((OCC: Sorry for the short post.)) There might be several reasons why Red's blood tasted different. Perhaps it was the change the curse blade had set on him. Or maybe it was Red simply was different. Honestly he really didn't know. Yes the move had been a foolish, but it was necessary all the same. Jean hadn't have asked it better herself. How were they supposed to trust them?
This was that chance. This was the only chance that Red would give Annalese to prove that she meant them no harm. As she began to drink from his blood, an odd sensation entered him. Red didn't understand vampires. He had no way of knowing that as good as it was for a vampire to feed on the living, the vampires themselves give off a pheromone that weakens the body's defenses and rises the feelings of ecstasy.
Red took it all with a straight face. Even when that feeling came, he did his best to push that feeling down. However he couldn't push that feeling for too long. That was why not even thirty seconds had passed before Red had spoken. "Stop." If he waited much longer he wouldn't be able to resist against Annalese.
He knew that Jean thought this idea was crazy. Well kids did stupid things sometimes. Besides this really was the only way he knew how to test her words. They couldn't let her simply feed on some innocent person just to prove her word. That was just another reason why he did what he did.

(OOC: It's fine, last post for me today and then I g2g for bed and will reply when I can tomorrow.) Jean didn't like Red's idea at all. Like him, she didn't know what other course to take. It seemed like this was Red's only conclusion in how to test that theory. So far, things seemed fine for now. Still, she was prepared for anything as the time slowly ticked by. Would Annalese manage to stop when Red told her to? Or would she continue and force Jean to fight her? Her swords, she didn't think would be of much use against a vampire when they weren't made for fighting her kind.
Annalese didn't know what it was about Red's blood. It was an interesting taste, that much was true. As she drank, she didn't realize what sensation she was giving Red. Things like that weren't intentional on the vampire's part anyway. At least, not for ones as young as Annalese. It was a lucky thing that the blood was intoxicating to her like it would be when she was hungry. She wouldn't have been able to control herself if she was hungry. It was lucky for Red and Jean that she had drank the previous night.
She knew what she did was repulsive to human kind but she couldn't help it. Annalese was born this way. She was a pure blooded vampire. They had to drink human blood in order to survive. That was just how it always was for their kind. Some abused this fact where others, like her, did not. Sometimes Annalese didn't like being the way she was just because of the complications it caused.
It wasn't long before Red finally told her to stop. Removing her mouth from his wrist, Annalese released his hand. 'Great, now because he made me do that, I'll probably find it hard to resist his blood when I get hungry!' she thought. Once she had a taste for someone's blood, it was always difficult to get it out of her mind. If she was tempted though, she would just leave their company for a bit before it got to be too bad.
Jean eased down a little seeing Annalese cease what she was doing and take a step back from Red. The girl looked to the side in what seemed like embarrassment or humiliation. "...Are you alright, Red?" Jean questioned him then.
Right now, Annalese wondered if they were going to try and harm her. Probably not, she had done what Red asked her to. Even if it had been against her will.

When Annalese finally pulled her fangs away, the sensation ceased. Red could understand why people were so worried about these vampires. That sensation had not been something one could easily fight off. Red would have to be careful when Annalese started getting hungry. Taking a bit o the extra medical tape around his skeleton arm, he wrapped his right wrist in it. He made sure to tie it tight with his teeth.
Turning to Jean, Red kept a cool face. "I'm fine. Were nearly at the inn. Let's go." Without waiting for a reply, Red turned away from the two of them. As he walked Red could feel the pulse in his right wrist. Damn vampire! That hadn't been the smartest of things to do. In fact now that the whole situation was over, Red knew how stupid it really had been.
There were many other ways to test Annalese. What he had done was just... Red couldn't even finish the thought. Yet part of him, the rebellious teenager, was thrilled at the fact that he had done something so dangerous. Red shook his head, almost as if he was trying to shake away the thought.
Things were already dangerous enough. Annalese would be nothing but trouble. Every logical thing in Red's mind told him that. Yet he couldn't just tell her to go away. In a way they were similar. They both were outcasts in society. He for his arm, her for her race. That was why he couldn't tell her to back off.
At long last Red reached the inn. Red didn't know if Annalese planned on following them inside or not. By this point he didn't care. "Let's go Jean." Red's words might sound harsh, when in reality he was just tired. This day was more eventful then he had expected it to be. Once inside his room, he took off the belt that held his weapon and laid his cursed blade by his bed. He threw himself on the bed.
"I'm sorry for doing that." The words were directed at Jean, but Red couldn't bare to look their way. He felt so foolish.

Annalese kept her distance from Red now as Jean eyed her. She was probably waiting for her to lose control. Instead, Annalese just watched as Red took some bandaging from his left arm and tied it about his right wrist. His left arm was rather questionable. It was thin and had a certain smell to it that only her kind could detect. It smelled like something dark or cursed. Had his arm been cursed? She didn't know. All she did know was that his left arm was quizzically thin. Almost as if the arm had no muscle. Little did she know that it was true about his arm having no muscle or flesh on it to begin with.
Jean waited for Red as he wrapped his wrist, her eyes occasionally going over to Annalese to make sure she wasn't about to attack him. That had been a move that she didn't agree with. There could've been other ways to test her. What Red just did was probably give the vampire a taste for his blood now. Jean was probably going to have to sleep with one eye open until things blew over. How long that would take, she didn't know. Hopefully not for forever. Annalese could potentially be the relentless type.
Hearing what Red said, Jean eased down a little. Turning about, she followed Red's lead toward the inn. Whether or not the vampire girl followed them, she didn't care right now. Just as long as she didn't try to start anything with them. Jean would have her at sword point in a heart beat if she dared. The walk back was rather quiet most of the way. In fact, no one even talked until they got inside the inn.
Annalese parted ways with them for a moment then. However, her involvement with them wasn't over yet. Why was that? Well, it wasn't because of Red's blood she had gotten a taste of. Although if she got hungry it might be but she would fight the temptation. No, in fact the reason why was because now she felt bad for having caused them trouble unintentionally. She was horrible personality wise but even she could feel guilty. If they hadn't found her, that mishap in that strange territory would've never happened. That and she had teased them earlier in revealing herself the night before. She should've waited for the idiot human to scramble out of their room before dealing with him.
Once inside the inn, as Red and Jean left for the upstairs rooms, Annalese ordered a single room. During her time here and there, she had accumulated enough to afford a single room. With that done, she set off up the stairs too. She didn't go anywhere near Red or Jean when she passed by them though. The last thing she needed was for either of them to suspect her of following them or planning them future problems.
When Jean entered the room, watching warily as Annalese passed them by, she closed the door. Seeing Red land abruptly on the bed, exhaustion taking over him, Jean inaudibly sighed. Hearing his apology, she just slowly shook her head. "You do realize that you just gave her a taste for your blood now, right? She probably didn't have any intentions for it happening...but you've just got her hooked on your blood probably. I will need to sleep with an eye open now because of that little charade back there to keep us both alive!" she stated with a sigh.
"It's a very lucky thing she didn't drain you dry. I mean, I would've attacked her but I don't think my swords would've even killed her, Red. Vampires are...very hard to kill." She went to her own bed and sat down near the edge. "Granted, I don't like the fact she's a vampire but...that was almost cruel of you to deliberately bait her like that." Shaking her head, she added "Sorry, I don't mean to seem like I'm lecturing you. She didn't drink too much from you, did she?" Looking over at Red, Jean awaited for his answer.

Red felt terrible. That was one way of putting it. Jean's lecture, for even though at the end she did not claim that it was, made Red feel even worse. She was correct though. If Annalese attacked them, it would because he had let her drink his blood. He hadn't thought of that until Jean pointed it out.
Of course there was a problem that Red didn't want to mention. That feeling of ecstasy was something he had never felt before. It was something part of him wanted to get to know. However the more rational part wouldn't let that happen. There would be only more danger if he pursued that path.
As Jean had scolded him, he kept his head down in shame. He knew he made a mistake. "I know I made a mistake." When Jean had seemed to finally calm down he raised his head. Tears had dripped down his face. "It was stupid. It was scary... and it was exhilarating."
Before Jean could say anything he continued. "But I will never do that again. It was a mistake. I know that now... It's why I'm sorry." Taking a deep breath, Red whipped his tears on the sleeve of his cloak. He continued his deep breathing until he was calm enough to continue.
"I promise I'll be more careful next time." Hoping that they could leave it just at that, Red stood. After all the running a shower was looking might fine right this moment. There was a shower room for both men and women on their hall, with five stalls each. It was accessible for anyone who roomed here.
It was at that moment that the door to their room slammed open. Red reacted immediately reaching over to the side of his bed and drawing his weapon from its sheath. At first Red thought it was the guard come back to get them. But that notion was thrown away pretty quickly. For the guard to follow them all the way to inn, and then track them down to their very room, was high highly unlikely.
A look of surprise crossed Red's face when Ogre entered. Rolling his eyes and letting out a breath he didn't know he held, "What the hell Ogre?! Ever hear of knocking?" he responded. Honestly, Ogre should have known better then to just barge in on someone.
Ogre held a worried expression. "Tarren wants to meet with you... now."

If Jean knew what Red had experienced during the time the vampire had drank his blood, she would've been more worried. She probably would've lectured him even more on it. Wanting to find out more about something like that wouldn't be the safest idea. Red could probably find himself bitten again if he kept wondering about it. Not aware that he was dangerously curious of Annalese's bite, Jean had finished saying what she had to. It had scared her to see him do such a thing. Hopefully nothing would become of it.
She looked over at Red when he spoke up finally. Hearing his words and seeing his watery eyes made her see that he had gotten the point. That is, until she heard the exhilarating remark. Before she could say anything against it though, Red already promised not to do that again.
"Well...as long as you don't go doing that again then." It was done and over with now. She just hoped Red stayed true to his words. If he didn't, there would come a time where she wouldn't be able to help him. That vampire could potentially be one of those times. In the future, she inwardly told herself that she would keep a careful eye on Red. There was no telling what a vampire bite did to a human. Annalese said she didn't turn others but what if there was something else to the bite? She didn't know much about vampires but for all she knew, there could've been something more than just that mere bite.
Leaving the subject behind, Jean just stayed put with where she was. She hadn't anything else to do except train. Training right now outside the inn was out of the question. Not when one of Tarren's men had been hot on their trail last she knew. She didn't want to be outside just yet. It would be best for her to at least wait a day before attempting to do so. As she was thinking on that, the door suddenly slammed open.
Like Red, Jean was already on her feet with her hands on the hilts of her swords. Seeing Ogre step into the room, her posture relaxed again. Ogre wasn't an enemy. The look on his face though as he relayed the message was unsettling. Jean passed a glance at Red when she heard it. Did Tarren's guard report them already? Did he know? If so, what was to become of this?
"So soon?"

Red's eyes narrowed suspiciously. It wasn't because he didn't believe Ogre. Actually they narrowed because he wondered why would Tarren suddenly want them now. In all honesty he wouldn't bother with two people who got away from a guard. The only reason he could think of, is that Tarren wanted to see him about the fire.
Suddenly Red was weary about going to see Tarren. If only there was another way to get the information they needed. "Yes. I saw him earlier today. He said today was the only day he would see you." Ogre told Jean and Red.
Signing aloud, Red placed his blade back in its sheath. Placing the weapon around his shoulder, he nodded to Jean and then indicated for Ogre to lead the way. Red had hoped to have time to think about what questions he wanted to ask Tarren. He was going to take the time to figure out what exactly he was going to say. He had no time to do that now.
In fact as they walked, Red spent the time worrying about what he was going to say. In reality he would be talking about the fire. Perhaps the best thing would be to tell him the truth? But would Tarren believe him? Red didn't have high hopes for that.
The journey to Tarren's was quiet on Red's part. He couldn't bring himself to say or pay attention to anything that might have been said during the walk. Before he knew it he was walking the pathway that Ogre had walked not long ago. The tall building stood from before stood in front of them.
Ogre led the procession. The guards in front of the only doorway Red could see, said nothing. They simply let Ogre pass. In fact they didn't even bother to look at them, their heads turning away as they passed. Red wasn't surprised to see that the room they entered was vastly empty. Not only that, but compared to the rest of the buildings, this place looked like it belonged in the richer section of town.
Red carpeted the floor and a large desk stood in the center of the empty room. Grandiose paintings hung on the wall. Each depicted a different scene. Even the lady sitting at the desk was dressed in a fancy red dress that hung to her waist and reached just above the knees. Her eyes were set on documents before her.
Ogre continued his silence, and Red followed him right past the receptionist. She said nothing nor even acknowledged his presence as they entered the room. He led Red to an elevator. While waiting for the elevator, Red couldn't help but feel awkward while waiting for the elevator.
That feeling didn't leave as Ogre gestured them inside and clicked number three inside the elevator. This was the calm before the storm. Red could feel the anticipation in the air. At long last they reached their destination. When the elevator opened Red found himself facing two large doors at the end of a short hallway.
Ogre paused before the doors. He turned around suddenly facing him and Jean. "Wait here. He will call you in." Nodding, Red watched Ogre slowly open a door and close it before Red could see anything on the other side. Now that Red had his time alone with Jean he shot her a glance.
"No matter what happens.... Thank you for coming with me."

Jean made sure she had her swords still as she looked between Ogre and Red. Hearing that Tarren wanted to see them so soon was a little unsettling. What made him want to see them this fast? If it wasn't the guard, could it be the fire thing? She looked over at Red and waited for what he would say to that. Jean would accompany him, she had said she would and he had done the same for her.
"Alright...guess we've no choice but to go now." She headed out of the room with Red. Ogre lead the way as they went down the hallway. Would they come out of the situation alive? Did Tarren care about what happened to Big Mama to punish for it? It hadn't been Red's fault to begin with either. Not intentionally anyway. It would be unfair if he was held accountable for it.
When they returned to the district of the slums where Tarren's mansion was, the guards standing in the way merely looked away from them. Letting them and Ogre pass, the guards didn't seem to care. Jean found it a little odd that it seemed like they were being ignored. None were trying to be intimidating like last time. What was up with the sudden change? Had Tarren ordered them to ignore them completely?
They passed a receptionist too whom ignored them just as much as Tarren's guards. Maybe they were too afraid to look at them lest they interfere with Tarren's plans? Whatever the case was, Jean was ready. She had dealt with far worse things than a crime boss. She would stick by Red's side and help him out. She owed it to him for doing the same for her too. Even if he hadn't, she'd still help him out. Jean was just that kind of a person.
When they entered the elevator, she looked over at Red. "Anytime, Red. Anytime!" she said.

This was it. The moment that Red finally received answers. "Enter." A voice from inside the door called. It was an older voice, and Red recognized it. Gathering his courage, Red pushed the doors open. He entered first.
The first thing that Red noticed was the elderly man sitting in a chair in front of him. The chair itself was large and made purely of gold. Tarren sat upon it. He was a man with long gray hair and brown eyes. Dressed in red robes, his arms rested on the armrests of the chairs. It should be noted that for a man in his fifties, he was in excellent shape.
On Tarren's right was a man dressed in a suit holding a golden tray with a wine glass resting on it. Red took the dressed man with short brown hair and a clean shaved face as a butler. His eyes gazed at both Red and Jean nonchalantly.
To Tarren's left was a young woman dressed in a very tight, very short, black dress. Her long blond hair and seductive smile, made Red cringe inside. He had no idea who she was, but he could guess what Tarren did with her.
Finally, standing next to the woman but further back, was Ogre. As Red entered the room, Ogre's eyes went to the floor and stayed there. That was strange. Why wasn't Ogre looking at him?
"Welcome!" Red's attention was turned to Tarren as he rose from his chair. "Welcome to my domain. Ogre has told me much about you." Tarren rose his hands and clapped them only once. Something was strange about this situation.
It was at that moments the doors behind them closed with a bang. Jumping from the sudden sound, Red suddenly froze. The reason he froze was because he felt a sharp object pointing to his back. Unknowing to Red, two figures who had been seemingly invisible had made their appearance. The first pointed a knife at Red's back. The second had appeared behind Jean and whispered, "Don't move."
A look of confusion crossed Red's face. Why was there a knife at his back? "We only came to talk..." Red said, holding his hands up innocently. Maybe this was just precaution?
Tarren's sudden laugh made Red second guess his last thought. "Oh I know exactly why your here Red. Ogre's told me all about you. You know I'm normally a very understanding man. Things would have been perfect if you hadn't returned."
Red really had no idea what was going on anymore. "I don't ...." Tarren didn't let him finish the statement.
"Yes, yes, I know I know. You don't understand what's going on right? Look its quite simple. You were never supposed to return. You can't return. You came here to find out to clear your name about the fire right? Well no need for that. I know you didn't start the fire. I did."
Red's jaw dropped. "What?..." He didn't understand. How could Tarren have started the fire? Then what about the four hooded figures? What about Big Mama? [color=red'"You... you killed Big Mama?"[/color] Red's voice cracked as tears fell from his face.
Tarren's confused look answered Red's question. "Kill Big Mama? No someone beat me to that little task. It wasn't that I had anything against you Red. Big Mama was too powerful. She was someone who stood against my authority! All those girls had to die because she refused to pay me. I gave her that chance! I warned her. I told her if she didn't submit to my authority she would regret it."
"It worked perfectly. You suddenly disappeared and you became the easy scapegoat. But then you returned! I had to be careful though. When Ogre told me you had returned two days ago, I didn't know what to do. I had to be careful. Ogre you did a wonderful job." Tarren gave Ogre a smile.
Ogre's reaction though was to only look away further. "Ogre..... why?" Red didn't know what to think. He had been betrayed by his best friend.
At last Ogre lifted his face. When his eyes sudden locked on Red's sorrowful one's, his face lit with anger. "You left Red! You were my best friend and you left. Tarren is a powerful man. I was no one when you left me. He made me a someone."
Red didn't know what to think. He had a knife to his back, his best friend had betrayed him, and there was nothing he could do about either. "Who were the hooded figures?" If he was going to die Red at least wanted some answers about the people who had made his life miserable the moment he left here.
"I don't know what your talking about." From Tarren's confusing expression, Red believed him. "I'm sorry Red. But it really is just business." Tarren glanced over to the woman at his side. He nodded briefly to her. A gleeful smile crossed her face as her eyes turned to him. "Great another crazy murder."
Things weren't looking good. He had a knife to his back and someone was about to kill him. He could draw his blade but he would end up getting stabbed in the back anyway. Things weren't looking good. As the girl walked towards him, Red could feel helplessness come over him. Was this how things were really going to end.
As if the day wasn't eventful enough, a dagger suddenly sailed through the air from behind him. Red watched as the blade sank into the girl's head. There was no surprise on her face. The dagger's blade was a foot long. The woman dropped to the floor dead. Every person Red could see held a look of shock on their face.
The sound of a sword slashing twice through the air from behind him made him cringe. Red turned his head slowly and watched as Artemis walked into the room. He said nothing as he calmly walked over to the dead body and withdrew his jeweled dagger. Red's eyes were so focused on the assassin's sudden entrance that he didn't even see the pool of blood flowing from the two dead knifemen behind Red and Jean.
"I'm sorry but the only person who is allowed to kill this boy is me." The assassin said to Tarren.

As Ogre entered the doors before them, Jean waited beside Red. Eventually, a voice called out to them to enter. Letting Red go first, Jean followed him in close behind. When she got in, she took in her current surroundings. There was a man in his fifties seated in the center of the room. Nearby was a questionably dressed lady. A butler was present as well. Seeing how the butler was standing near the man who was in his fifties, Jean assumed that he was Tarren.
Ogre was inside too but the way he had lowered his gaze made her wonder. Was he just scared of Tarren and being in his presence? She didn't know but the vibes in the air didn't feel very good. Something was definitely up. Either that or she was just paranoid. She watched as Tarren rose from his seat and clapped his hands once after welcoming them.
Suddenly, the doors behind them shut and before she knew it, someone from behind had whispered to her. It was telling her not to move. Jean's eyes narrowed in disgust. She should've known something underhanded like this would happen. Side glancing in Red's direction, his body language suggested that he had found out someone was behind them. Jean had no choice but to obey as she kept still.
Her eyes went to Tarren and narrowed. They were powerless to do anything. Her glare particularly fell upon Ogre before going to Tarren again. She gritted her teeth hearing that Tarren had been the one to set fire to Red's home. The blame had been placed on Red for something this crime boss had done. "You low life scum!" she snapped.
Their situation looked very grim. As Red questioned Ogre, Ogre locked eyes with Red. Jean listened as Ogre confessed the reason why he did this. It had been because he was left behind and that Tarren had made him a somebody. "Wow, what a sell out!" she stated calmly despite their situation. Hearing Red's sudden question about the hooded figures, her eyes went toward Tarren. Seeing the confused look on his face, he honestly didn't know whom Red spoke of.
It wasn't until a little after this when Tarren decided to have them eliminated. After nodding at the woman, she began to approach Red. Jean's eyes narrowed. If she made one move, she could take out the girl. Yet, if she did that, she would consequentially get Red stabbed in the back. Maybe she should attack the guy holding Red at knife point?
Before she had much time to think of desperate measures, a knife got the woman in the forehead. The motion had been so quick, she was dead without realizing she was it seemed. Once that was finished, she heard noise from behind. Seeing Artemis come into view, she couldn't help but look in wonder. What was he doing here? Moving her foot, only then did she notice the pools of blood. Her foot no longer touched hard floor and she felt something slippery. Glancing down, she saw blood. Looking over her shoulder, she saw they were no longer held at knife point.
Jean turned toward the situation as Artemis spoke. Kill Red? She glanced over at Red. Now would be the perfect time to make a run for it. Her eyes were suggesting it. 'Maybe if I use the phantom swords to buy us some time?'

Red understood Jean's indication. Indeed now would be the perfect time to run. He slowly backed away until he came to the opening of the two doors. The shock of the sudden kill of Tarren's companion, was fleeing from Tarren's face. Rage was beginning to replace it. "Kill him." The words were directed at Artemis.
It was now or never... Red turned around and ran. He would leave the assassin to fend for himself. This whole situation had been confusing, but he would work through his thoughts on it later. For now, Red's priority was getting out of here.
----------------
Artemis said nothing as Tarren issued the order for his death. He simply watched as the butler at Tarren's side moved into action. The butler let the tray and dish fall to the floor as he ran at top speed towards Artemis. He had a knife in each hand as he charged.
There was no need for Artemis to change his position as the butler charged. The butler was faced for a man, but no where near the level of Artemis. The butler attacked high and low, the first knife aiming for Artemis's neck, and the other Artemis's side. If he had the time, Artemis would have congradulated the butler on his flexability. Sadly he did not.
Artemis's dagger flashed as he slashed the butler's hands. Both dagger's fell to the floor. The butler's hands shook while his eyes widdened in terror. Death had come. Artemis's dagger flashed once more as it sliced his neck.
There was only one person left in the room who still needed to die. Tarren. "Why? Who sent you?" Tarren grabbed Ogre and threw him towards Artemis. "Is this about the boy. You can have him. He's nothing!"
Ogre's face lit with betrayal. It seemed the boy now understood what if felt like to be betrayed by someone you admired. "Your reign as leader has ended." Artemis's dagger called for the old man's blood. There was no need to prolong this. Artemis threw the dagger with the same percision when he threw it before.
Tarren could do nothing but watch as the dagger sliced through his skull. Tarren let out a shrilling scream as Artemis's jeweled dagger fed on the old man's soul. Artemis could feel the energy from the old man pump through Artemis's veins. The deed was done. Turning around to leave, Artemis left a stunned and shaking Ogre alone in the room.
((OCC: I figured I'd give you the free reign to get Red and Jean back to the inn while I finished the scene with Artmies. Hope thats okay with you?))

Once Red got the hint, Jean started moving away too. The assassin's timing was impeccable. Still, she wasn't sure of his true motives. Was he seriously out to kill Red again? Regardless, she appreciated the distraction. It bought her and Red plenty of time. Now, they just had to get the hell out of here before it was too late. The assassin, whether or not he was meant to still kill Red could fend for himself easily. He was, after all, around her level of expertise even though his choice was assassin and not warrior of the sword like she was.
She dashed down the halls with Red. "Quick! The stair well!" she called, pulling Red toward it. He seemed to not understand what she meant at first but went along with it. "So they don't corner us in at the elevator!" she explained hurriedly.
Like she had expected, no one had been waiting at the stair well when they reached the bottom. She had seen a small group over by the elevator waiting to see if they would escape. No one knew yet about the commotion upstairs. That was good, that gave her and Red the advantage. Jean let Red sneak through the shadows as they made their way toward a fire exit.
Coming out that way, the two sped down the streets as fast as they could go. Careful to dart in and out of the shadows to get away from Tarren's men. It took longer to get to the inn again but they made it safely, despite their luck.
"Whew! Safe!" she exclaimed before looking over at Red. "...You alright, Red?" she asked him gently when they were back up in their room. Ogre had betrayed him to Tarren. She wondered how badly her young friend was taking it. It was harsh to find a good friend supposedly betrayed you like that. All because Red had left him. What kind of a friend was that? Not a very good one.
"I hope that assassin wasn't really out to get you again. If so, matters just got worse."

Red didn't think too much during the run. For the most part his mind remained blank. What was there really to think about? His best friend, the person who was basically his brother, had betrayed him. He was in shock.
As he followed Jean out of Tarren's headquarters, he took a brief second to turn back. Perhaps it would have been better to not have come back home at all? There wasn't really any time to waste. Red had quickly turned away and followed Jean back to the inn. When at last they were safe back in their room, that stun he felt before slowly turned to sadness.
Part of Red wanted to blame himself for all of this. Ogre spoke the truth. Red had left him to simply fend for himself. Yet another part of him knew that there was nothing he could have done. He had been running for his life. Who was he to expect things to simply stay the way they were. Things don't just cease when you leave.
For that reason he understood that for as much as he wanted to blame himself, he couldn't. Ogre had done what was best for himself. Red could live with that. Glancing up at Jean when she asked him about his state of being, "I'll be alright."
Unlike Jean, Red wasn't too sure they were safe. If the assassin did kill Tarren, there might be more trouble. Red really didn't know what to think about the assassin. Was he still trying to kill him? What happened to going their own ways? The fact that the assassin made an appearance worried Red. He must have been watching them.
"Maybe staying in the Enchanted Domain isn't a smart idea...." Red trailed off. The question was, if they left this place where would they go? Red honestly didn't have the slightest idea.

(OOC: Sorry, I thought I had replied here. Darn slippery memory.) Jean knew their peace for now was only temporary. It was only a matter of time before the assassin or Tarren's remaining men placed the blame on them if he were killed. That and the possible territory disputes that would take place here wouldn't be too pretty either. As she looked over at Red, she wondered how he was doing. Knowing a friend just betrayed you was a harsh punch to the gut. She just hoped it didn't make him assume everyone would turn out like Ogre.
Hearing Red's claim of how he'll be alright, Jean let it slide for now. Was he truly okay? She didn't know but she would let it be for now. Reminding him of the situation wouldn't help him any. It was a shame that Ogre did this to Red. "...Okay then." Now, where were they to go? It was obvious that they couldn't stay here. They had to get a move on it.
The suggestion Red made, Jean nodded in agreement. "You're right, staying here will get bloody." She wondered where they should go though. Her mind almost forgot about that vampire girl. "...but where are we going to go next?" she inquired. Turning to Red, she went into thought. Probably nowhere convenient. That way, they would be hard to find. The problem was where should they go?
"Hide for a bit?" she inquired. As she thought about a good hiding place, the memory of two of her warrior buddies came to mind. They didn't live on Gaia but she had met them on one of the other worlds. They claimed if there was ever anything she needed, she could come to them for their help. 'Now...where did they say they lived?' she wondered in silence, crossing her arms in thought.
"Well, if there's no world in particular that you want to go to, we can go to where my war buddies live and take refuge with them for a short time, at least until you can decide on where to go next."

((OOC: No prob. I figured you were just busy))
Red listened to Jean's explanation. Getting out of here was a smart idea. He really didn't have any idea where they should go. Jean on the other hand had a suggestion. One that he liked.
At this point, any allies would help their case. Red still had no clue as to who was after him. His only hope for information had been here in the Enchanted Domain. Beyond this place, Red hadn't a clue. "Maybe the best way is to just let them find me." Why prolong the chase? Why not just let the enemy come to him.
Red knew that such actions were suicide. There was no way he could hope to defeat anyone with the strength of those people. Even the assassin was afraid of them. It would be like a baby chick facing a vicious dog. There was no hope for the baby chicken.
The sudden sound of the door opening brought Red's attention to the situation. Hand going straight for his weapon, the cursed blade rang as it was drawn into the air. Red had the weapon ready to strike just as a server walked in with two plates of food. The surprised look on her face made Red pause.
"I... I'm sorry. If you don't want your food now I can return later with it." Red sheathed his weapon.
"No no you can bring it in. Sorry." Red got off the bed and took the plates from the server. She bowed to him respectfully and then closed the door behind her. Red handed one of the plates to Jean. "Where is this place?"

(OOC: No worlds you have set in mind? Just so I don't go and choose one out of the way from your plot or one you don't like.) Jean crossed her arms when Red spoke up about how he should just let them find him. Was he being serious? "That won't solve anything except get you killed! Do you even know what to expect?" she retorted. She needed to really keep an eye on this kid! He always thought of things that were harmful for him. If she wasn't careful, he'd probably take a sword to his throat again or something. Jean slowly shook her head and sighed. If there was a Keyblade wielder they were in for some trouble.
Suddenly, the door opened and Red reacted accordingly. Already, he had his sword out, Jean had even set both hands on the hilts of her swords. Seeing it was just a servant, she eased down. The poor girl though was shocked to see their reactions. She probably thought they were both about to kill her.
"Sorry, ma'am!" she apologized right after Red. As the servant handed Red the plates, she closed the door behind her and left. Taking a plate from Red, she wondered about where they said they would be last she knew.
"I think....they last told me they would be in Land of Dragons if I ever needed their help..." she went into thought for a moment. Taking a few bites from the food, she couldn't think of anywhere else they would be. Besides, knowing them, it wasn't hard to figure it out. They wore armor somewhat similar to the people there even though they didn't have the appearance of the locals.
"Last they told me, if I ever needed help, I would be able to find them in the mountains." The more she thought about it, the more it made sense. Yes, they said they would be found there in Land of Dragons. There was no more doubt in her mind. She knew for sure where they were now. Finding them wouldn't be hard at all. Not for her anyway, any outsiders looking for them would have a hard job of it. They were close to her level of skill and didn't play around in concealing themselves when they had to disappear.
"Hm...now what was their code?" she wondered aloud. She searched her brain for anything obvious but so far, nothing.

((OOC: Nope no preference. What I have planned can happy on any world.))
Red wasn't really hungry. After all that had happened could one blame him? He was too on edge to stomach anything. Placing the plate of food on the nightstand beside the bed, Red sat back down on his bed.
This place called The Land of Dragons was new to him. He had never heard of the world before. Jean seemed to know the place though. And if she was correct, they might find some allies there. "I've never heard of the place.... but if your allies are there, then perhaps that is where we should go."
Unlike Jean, Red had not forgotten about their new vampire friend. He wondered if she would follow them? There was also another predicament that Red just realized. He could not simply open a portal to this Land of Dragons. Red could only travel to places he had been in the past.
"There is a problem though. I can't open a portal to that world because I've never been too. How are we going to get there?" Red had heard of gummi ships before, but they were not cheap. No one in the slums owned any such ship. When Red had left this world before he had done so by catching a ride on a tourists gummiship. It was all he could have afforded at the time.
Not only that but if they were to go get a gummi ship they would have to venture out into the streets again. By now Tarren's guards would be in the streets looking for them. Staying in this inn was looking worse by the moment. "We really should leave soon."

Jean had to sit there and wonder how they were going to get there. It wasn't like she could randomly transport them to anywhere. How were they going to get there? The question ran through her mind constantly as she took a few more bites of the food they were given. She wanted to eat but at the rate they were going, it would be too dangerous to dilly dally anymore. Setting her plate of food on the nightstand a little after Red, Jean was ready to go. The problem was just getting there.
She looked back at Red as he finally agreed to go there. Well, at least she had his say. There wasn't anywhere else that she could think of. With her war buddies, they should be safe for a time. Maybe even have their aid in the conflict to come. Well, maybe that was expecting too much but she will see how they will be when her and Red got there.
"Land of Dragons isn't a bad place. Sure things aren't as advanced as they are here but it's nice." At least it would give Red time to think what course of action to take. This was his adventure after all. Jean was just there to support him. Whatever he decided in the end, she would be there to help him out. She owed it to him as a friend. Jean never turned her back on a friend that needed her help.
When Red asked her how they were going to get there, Jean wondered. There wasn't a clue for her how they were going to get there. When she traveled the worlds, she had transportation from the organization that she worked for. Not being a part of it anymore, she had no means for herself to go anywhere. "...I'm really not sure how we can..."
"You really don't know how to behave, do you?" Annalese questioned them, leaping off the ceiling. "Forgive the intrusion but I couldn't help but notice the commotion you two made." She looked between Red and Jean. If it were the Land of Dragons they were going to, they were going the same way she was. Annalese had some family there that she wanted to see anyway. She hadn't seen them in a while even though they didn't really get along often.
"Seeing that you need to hurry, I could teleport you there...I am going the same way as you are. I've family I wish to see." It was a strange and sudden offer but Annalese couldn't think of how else to approach them. Being a vampire, randomly appearing was normal for her. She didn't know it bothered humans for someone like herself to suddenly appear out of the blue.
"How long have you been there?" Jean demanded. Annalese waved a hand at her. "Relax, I'm not your enemy. If I were, you would've known that by now. We vampires don't resort to dishonorable means when fighting someone." Jean relaxed a little but was watching Annalese carefully before glancing over at Red. It was a strange offer to say the least since they only just met the girl.
"So, are you coming or what? I might live longer than you but I don't have all day!" she stated.

Red had not forgotten about the vampire, but he had not expected her to suddenly drop into their room. His first reaction upon seeing her was to go to his sword once more. However by the time he had a grip on the hilt of his weapon, he recognized the eavesdropper. Like Jean, he wondered just how much Annalese had heard?
He trusted the vampire. At least enough to know she would not stab him in the back. But he really didn't know her too well. Her actions did not make it easy for Red to just forget about such things like dropping out of the sealing unannounced. However Red was not a fool to question her now. Not when she was offering them the chance to get out of here.
Red shot a look to Jean. Could they trust her not to lead them into enemy territory? It was still to early to tell. However there wasn't much of a choice at the moment. It was either risk trying to find a gummiship or trust Annalese to teleport them. Crossing his arms once again, Red let out a sigh.
"Alright vampire.... Give us ten minutes to pack up our things. We will meet you in the hallway." Not waiting for Annalese to leave, Red started packing his things. Honestly it would not take him ten minutes to pack all of his things. It wasn't like he had a suit case or anything.. But it would give him time to think.
Red went over the conversation with Tarren in his mind as he got his things together. Tarren had set his home to flames those years ago. He had done it because of Big Mama's freedom. If this was true, then how did the hooded figures end up outside? How were they and Big Mama unharmed by the fire?
The only answer Red could come to was that they must have taken Big Mama out before the building was barricaded and set aflame. Why was it that no one noticed the hooded figures outside the building? The vision played through Red's mind again. The four hooded figures stood in a circle. Big Mama was on her knees in the center, her hands bound.
Red tried his best to remember what Big Mama looked like before her head popped out. Had there been bruises on her face? Had she been interrogated? Red just couldn't remember. All that came was the same image of that key bladed weapon and the slash as her head seemingly rolled off her body.
Perhaps that was what he should be looking for. The key shaped weapon... What was it? And now that he thought about it, Jean had acted oddly when he mentioned it... Red turned to her. "Do you know what that key shaped weapon I spoke of was?" He asked.

(OOC: Hope you don't mind me going ahead and doing that, if you do, I can fix. I give you permission, if you're fine with this,to rp my characters making it to Land of Dragons with Red in the opening thread for Land of Dragons if you want but I must sleep now. If you want me to fix then I'll do that when I get back. Night Red!) Annalese didn't flinch as Red put a hand on his sword's hilt. She wasn't afraid of getting cleaved in two. She would only regenerate. After all, vampires didn't die by normal means unless they didn't have enough blood in their system. Looking between Jean and Red, she waited for a response. Leaning on one foot, she lightly tapped the floor with the other as if to say 'any time now'.
It was the young man who chose to speak. Looking right at Red, she nodded. "Alright, but you might want to hurry. I smell trouble getting nearer with every second." With that, she left the room to wait out in the hallway. As she did so, her purple eyes looked this way and that, her senses on alert for anything fishy. Red and Jean, she found the humans quite interesting to say the least. It was difficult for anyone to really pique her interest for any longer than a few minutes. She had ADD after all.
Jean looked at Red with furrowed eyebrows when he had agreed to take up the offer but made no protest. Either way she saw it, they hadn't any other choice. Not unless they planned on trying to brave the streets. Annalese's teleportation abilities might help them in this field. It would make things easier for them and she was going the same way so it wasn't like she was going out of her way or anything.
Picking up what little she had, Jean was ready to go. "Ready to-!" she was cut off by the sudden question Red asked of her. Her expression went a little grim. "Yes, I do. It's called a keyblade."
"I'll explain more when we get on Land of Dragons. They're...not a common weapon and can be powerful." She hoped that would suffice for now. It wasn't like she was trying to conceal that from him, it was just time wouldn't wait for them any longer. She also didn't want to have to tell him how serious their situation had become aside from the strange beings. Gesturing to head out, Jean found the vampire girl waiting for them.
Walking up to her, Jean nodded. Annalese looked between them and nodded. "Alright, take my hand!" she instructed, holding out a hand to each human. Jean did as she was told. In the blink of an eye, they were gone from this world.
