What a peaceful world Destiny Island was. Some people could even consider it a work of art. The sun was beating down on the small island, but the gentle ocean breezes cooled off the sandy beaches. The sky was clear: Not a single cloud could be found. The ocean was crystal blue. You could see right through the water to see the shallows. There was nothing in front of the beach to block its view. It was just an endless sea. Best of all: Heartless didn't run rampant like they did in other worlds. This world was one of those few exceptions that normally didn't have heartless.
A perfect view for artists to become inspired. However.....one figure could of prevented such a perfect art.
Near the shoreline, a boy had his feet in water, lying down. His arms were crossed behind his head. His shoes and socks were far from the ocean's waters. His hair and eyes were the same color: Red. His sweater was rolled up to his elbows. His pants were also rolled up to his knees.
The boy had not a care in a world: His eyes were closed as he breathed a sigh of relief. This is a vacation. At least, that is what the boy thought. His name....well, it was certainly an....intereseting name, to be given. His name was the same as hair and eye color: Red.
Red opened his eyes as he looked up to the big, blue sky. 'It's been so long since I've been here....' He thought to himself. To him, it felt like an eternity since he was here. But in reality, it had only been a year and some months. Amazing what time could do to you: What can feel like it has been for so long is only this amount of time. And vice versa. None the less, Red was here, and he was enjoying himself.
The last time he was here, Red was with a friend that would turn out to be his love. They had shared so many adventures and memories together in such a short time....It was no wonder that they would end up together. He had wondered what she was up to recently. Most likey, she was looking for him. After all.....some big events happened to him in recent years that probably would made normal people....welll....go 'insane' you could say.
The thought of her.....made him feel guilty. Here he was, relaxing himself, when she could of been looking for him in all these other worlds. He wanted to be reunited with her....but it was hard. After all, they could be separated from miles and miles away. Probably even more than miles...
Red shook his head as he tried to get rid the thought of her. He was here to relax himself: He came here to forget all his troubles. That's what a vacation is for, right? However, in order to keep himself from worrying too much, he made a promise to himself right there. It was a quick thought, but he soon put it into memory. "I promise to look for you....no matter what." Red mumbled to himself. He repeated the same line in his mind, to confirm the promise. Once he repeated the line over and over in his head, a satisfaction in his expression came upon him. After this, he would look for her. But for now....he needed a vacation that he always wanted to have in a LONG while. His eyes closed as he breathed another sigh of relief, now with a comfortable mind.

From a distance, Red could hear something. At first, he thought nothing of it. He thought that it was his imagination and the noise would go away soon. However...the sound continued on. He was beginning to feel that there was more to this noise than he thought. He slightly opened his eyes, and saw nothing. Red shrugged it off again, thinking that it was the ocean's waves causing the noise. He got back into his relaxing state of mind as he closed his eyes again.
Shortly after he closed his eyes, Red started to hear another noise. This time, it was different. Almost like....foot steps. Whenever a person becomes aware of their surroundings or...feel afraid, their senses heighten a little bit. The noise soon became louder as he open his eyes fully. He glance at front of him first, to the ocean: He saw nothing.....obviousily. Who ever heard of a person walking on water?
He began to calm down a little bit as he looked over to the right side. Nothing was there either: not a single soul. Red sat up from where he was lying slightly shaking his body to get the sand off his clothes.....Didn't work out too well. One disadvantage about the sand: It sticks to you like glue at times. Oh well: Red was use to it anyway. Being an islander, it was natural for him.
Arrogance got the best of him again as he shrugged off the footsteps as his imagination. He lied down again as he closed his eyes, returning to his 'vacation'. However, it was interrupted again. Not by a noise though: It was a feeling he had on his legs.
His eyes widened as he quickly retracted his legs back to his body. When he brought his legs back, he quickly sat up from where he was lying. Whatever touched his legs, it was certainly....startling for him. He looked over to his right side and saw a person. Apparently, she tripped over his legs, since she was 'free-falling'.
Red took a quick observation. Of course, he didn't need to use 'advance' brain power to figure out that she was woman. But her attire.....well, it was far from an islander. She wore some kind of top that had Red baffled. Her sleeves were long, but for some reason, they were...connected with her top. She had a cloth around her waist. Her dress was long and blue. What he didn't see was the different eye color between her two eyes.....not yet, at least.
He saw her bow to him, which was something that Red never understood. He knew it was a common thing to greet people but....Red could never do it. However, he wasn't going to say anything about it. It was slightly annoying, but he will keep his mouth shut. She apologized to him as she bowed.
Looking up to her face, Red said to her," It's alright. It's nothing." After accepting her apology, Red decided to introduce himself. "My name is Red. What's your name?"

As the woman pushed her hair out of the way, he spotted something....unique, in her eyes. One was a blue color, yet another one was green. How was that possible? Red had a very confused look on his face as he leaned his head a little bit forward to look up at her face. It was no illusion: Her eyes were indeed two different colors.
Red snapped back into his mind set as the woman introduced herself as Yuna. Yuna.......Red never heard of the name before. He nodded his head as he tried to set it into memory. After repeating it in his head twice, Red got the name set in. He nodded his head again as he gave a smile to her. Red said to her," Nice to meet you too, Yuna. Cool eyes, By the way." Red pointed to one of his eyes during his second sentence.
The eye thing sort of surprised Red at first, but he quickly got over it and thought that it was cool. Although, he now wondered: How do you manage to get two different eye colors? Red had lost himself in thought....yet again.
Weird: Red had looked older, but he was still that same 14 year old boy that he was before. The only reason why he had appeared older was probably because he took his older brother's age during the....recarnation, you could say. Other than that: Red was still that same boy that had always experience 'short-attention' span. At least, it appeared that way.
Yuna had begun to talk again. Of course, Red was oblivious for the most part. Her voice finally caught Red's attention as she was about to finish her sentence. He shook his head slightly, like he always did whenever he snapped back into reality.
Unfortunately, Red didn't hear everything. The only thing he really did hear clearly was 'island', pronounced in a sort of questionable tone. 'Oh no....what did she ask?' Red thought. Once again, Red began to think to himself, but it was rather quick. He needed to know what she had asked, or at least pretend to know what she had asked him.
'Do you live in the island? Or was it....'Do you like this island?' Those were the top questions that was inside Red's mind. He needed to pick which one did she ask....although, most people would of asked the person to repeat the question again. Not Red, though.
At last, Red answered....well, supposedly, answered Yuna's question. He gave a sheepish smile and shrugged as he said," Do I like this island? Uhhhh........yes?" Red had hoped that Yuna asked him that question.

As Yuna explained how she came to have those multi-colored eyes, a certain word caught his attention. 'Al-Bhed?' Red thought to himself. He had never heard of the term before. He had heard of human, demons, even nekos.....but an Al-Bhed....That wasn't in his lists of vocabularies. Red tried to get a general appearance of an Al-Bhed, based on Yuna. All of his thoughts were fried, except for one: He thought that all Al-Bhed had a multi-color eyes. It was the only thing that he could of think that would fit.
Red was still pondering, until Yuna began to say something else. She had repeated the question that she originally ask. A small blush appeared on Red's face, out of embarrassment. How stupid was it to give a completely different answer to such a simple question. Red said," Oh, sorry. I thought you asked me something else." He let out an amusing laugh: The kind that people give whenever they have done something embarrassing.
To answer Yuna's question, Red said,"No, I don't live here. Although, if you're curious, this world is known as Destiny Island." He gave out the extra information, just for no reason. He just had the urge to give some extra information to her, to repent his 'embarrassment'.
Red decided to make a small conversation with Yuna. He had nothing else do to at the moment, except lying down at the sun. Red said,"I'm guessing you're not from this world either. So, where do you come from?"

Red had noticed that Yuna smiled, but not for long. He had a puzzled look on his face as he moved his head to the side, to get a better look at her. He saw that one small, glistening tear roll down. Did he say or do something wrong? Red hope that he didn't: Whenever a girl cried, he couldn't help but feel guilty. It was worse when he knew that it was his fault. He was about to ask Yuna if it was his fault, but a sudden shot of breath, almost like a hiccup, startled Red as he jumped a little bit.
There was a small pause between the two. He wondered what Yuna could be thinking about right now...after seeing that tear fall from her eyes. Then, Yuna told him not to apologize for not listening. He had to disagree with her there. Red shook his head as he said, with a little smirk on his face," I kinda....'spaced' out when you ask me the question. You don't have to blame yourself for that." Red motioned his arms in front of him as he said 'spaced out'. There were those times that Red made small motions with his arms as he talk...although, it was rare for him to do it.
Well....This was certainly an awkward moment for Red. He came here just to relax on his own; forget all about the problems that he had, no matter how small or big they were. In all honestly, Red would of probably spent most of this time sleeping under the sun. But then, Yuna had suddenly shown up, tripping over his legs and he ended up talking with her. It's not like it was a bad thing: He was just surprised that anyone would come here. He thought that very few, if it all, anyone came to this island.
Red got a response to his question. Yuna explained that she had lived in an island called Besaid, in the world called Spira. Red had a small surprise look on his face: He had no idea that there was a new world that he hadn't been on yet. Perhaps.....if Yuna could give him directions to there.....no, he can't think about THAT now. His own 'hobbies' would have to wait: He came here just to take a break.
Red smiled again as he said,"I guess we share something in common, then. I was also born in a small island....too small, I think. It was only my family and some few friends. The name of it was........"
Red paused for a moment as he tried to remember the name of his own world. His older brother constantly told him the name of it.....but that was a LONG time ago. Red's brain fried trying to think about it. He gave up as he shrugged and said, "....I can't remember. It's been so long since I've been or seen my world."

Red had to hear Yuna apologize once again. He had a somewhat confused, and small annoyed look on his face. Red had never met a person that was willing to blame themselves for almost anything that went wrong. He was the one that didn't hear the question, so he should of been the one to apologized; not her. Yet....she blamed herself. Red couldn't understand those kinds of people. He always thought that if you weren't forced to say that 'it was your fault' for some trouble, then you should keep your mouth shut.
Red shook his head a little bit as he looked up at Yuna again. And once again, an awkard silence formed between the two. He didn't really mind it though: There was a 'brief' time where he was laconic when it came communicating. However, that was during his 'dark times'; A place that Red wished that he wouldn't be in again.
The silence broke as he heard Yuna let out a small laugh. He had a puzzled look on his face, wondering what she was laughing about. He guess that he wasn't the reason why she was laughing, considering that she stop when she look at him. She told him that she was just remembering something funny with her past. Red just shrugged: He didn't mind it at all.
Shortly after, Red heard Yuna apologizing once again for him. What she was apologizing for....Red didn't know. Not remembering the name of his world, nor seeing it didn't bother Red now. After being away from it for so long, and with only a few memories to remember it, it was hard just to remember how the island look like.
Then, he heard Yuna explain that she left her world, just to find someone. Red cocked his eye-brow a little after hearing that. Looking for someone that she had lost....it almost sounded like.....himself and Colleen.....Red's eyes widen a little bit, but he tried to keep the surprise hidden. Yuna's short story almost sounded like the journey that Colleen went on, just to find a way to bring him back.
Red adverterd his eyes to the side, then he decided to say something else about his past, just to keep the subject going. Red said to Yuna,"Heh.......I was sort of 'booted out' of my world. It was because of the heartless...."

Red's face turned from confused and annoyed, to a somewhat sympathetic look after Yuna finished explaining why she apologized so much. Went away? What did that exactly mean? The way that Yuna expressed it sounded a bit....awkward. To Red, it could have a lot of possibilities that Red couldn't even begin of thinking of. However, only two thoughts came clear as Red pondered on that statement longer. It could mean that Yuna father left her, for whatever reason he had. Or....it could mean that her father was....dead. Red had a sort of blank look on his face now as he said, "Sorry about your father..." Weird....now he was the one who was apologizing.
Father....parents, to be more precise....something that Red had never thought of for so long. His parents were gone before he was kicked off of his world. And his brother....well, he was completely different story, to say the least. Even as Red was pondered about them now.....he couldn't find any reason for mourn for them. Some people could call it heartless but....Red could barely remember how his parents look like, let alone know who they were exactly. Red just couldn't find a reason to weep for them, except for the fact that they were his parents...and that was about it.
His thoughts were soon put off as Yuna apologized to him. She was apologizing for the fact that he was booted off his own world. Once again, it was something that Red didn't think of too highly. He had a reason, though: Red had already cried about it when he was a small little kid. As he grew up in Traverse Town, he heard that people with no history with Traverse Town were usually 'survivors' from other worlds. He soon learn that 'survivors' meant that after his world was destroyed, he shortly arrived here.
Of course, Red was in denial when he soon pieced together what exactly happen to his world. He was still at a young age. However, as time passed by, Red soon learn to accept it....not without sorrow, though. As time passed, Red didn't think too much of his world and had forgotten memories of his world, piece by piece. Now, he barely knew the name of it....not that he was too ashamed of it...just a little embarrassed.
Red shook his head as he said, "It's not a big deal really.....Call it heartless but.....I already got over the fact that I can't go back there anymore..." Red had managed to say it with a straight face. He was able to do this was because he was speaking the truth. Plus, Red was never good at taking anything seriously. The only time he can take something seriously is if it's been 'shoved' at him repeatedly.
Red looked over to the blue ocean once again, still sort of dazzled with the sight of it. The sun made the clear blue ocean glistened. Even if he couldn't come back to his own world: Destiny Island bared a good resemblance. Well....it had a beach and ocean water; It was close enough. That's what Red thought.
He turned his attention back to Yuna. She was explaining her reasons why she couldn't stay in her world. It was because people kept on bothering her....wait, did that mean she was famous? Red had a pondering look on his face as he thought about it. Was Yuna a famous person back in her world? The way she made her words, it sounded like she was.....but if she left it because of the 'attention' she received from the people, then Red wouldn't push it. Although....he wanted to ask that question.
Red asked Yuna,"Sooooo....were you like a famous person back in your world?...."
Then, Red wanted to add 'his' reason to why he left his world. Although....it wasn't his choice to do so. None the less, Red was going to say it. Red explained," I left my world with little choice.....the heartless took over it with darkness, so I was 'kick-out' by them.....I ended up in Traverse Town after that incident."
Red paused for a moment as he let out a small chuckle. He said aloud, although it was meant for himself to hear," Weird.....my older brother and I didn't realize that we alive until much later...." Then, he looked over to Yuna, realizing what he had just said. He sort of blushed, out of embrassement as he asked her," Opps....kind of said that out loud, didn't I?"

(That's okay. BTW, I found something that you might like. Sorry that about the poor quality: I found this randomly. www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuvXcqHxtAQ&mode=related&search= )) Red had a confused look on his face. 'The Calm?' Red thought to himself. From the sound of it, it sounded.....calm. Did it mean that Yuna's world was always under attack, and 'the calm' was the only time when they had peace? Also, she mentioned that her father saved millions of lives from something called Sin. He was so confused about what she was talking about.....but he didn't want to admit it. Instead of saying anything, Red just shook his head at her. Yuna went on, as she said that she understood the feeling of 'getting over' the past. Red thought that she made a good point: Eventually everything that was painful went away as time passed by. He certainly had a lot of time to weep about his world, but he got over it a bit quicker than most people would of. Red said,"I guess it does.....as the old saying goes 'Time heals all wounds.'" Red gave a smile at Yuna after he finished his sentence. His ears and attention peaked again as Yuna began to answer his question. She was indeed a famous person in her world and that Sin was a giant monster.....and that is what Red got so far. The 'Yevonites' and 'Machina' completely threw him off as his face was beginning to turn into confusion again. He didn't understand what 'High Summoner' meant, nor the Aeons. He did however, understand the part where these high summoners had to 'sacrifice' themselves for 'The Calm' that Yuna mentioned. Apparently, Yuna's father had done it, and 'the calm' was there for about 10 years, then the monster came back. And from what he understood, Yuna was the first one to break the cycle and save the world, without sacrificing herself. Red's eyes widen a little bit from the story, but it quickly went into a look of impression. It was hard to believe that he was looking at someone who 'saved' a world: Something that Red had never done. However, that 'publicity' didn't went too well with Yuna, from what Red concluded. So, she must of been here to escape that famous life....Something that Red didn't get. Why would you hide from all that fame? He thought that if you were the savior of a world, then those people should be thanking you 'constantly' for saving their hides. Then again, Red had never 'experienced' that kind of fame before, so he thought that his opinion didn't really matter in this subject. Red said to Yuna, "Wow......I would never expect that just from looking at you.....No offense....." Red paused for a moment, before asking,"....Did you do it by yourself?" Red was bit more 'interested' now, about hearing Yuna's journey. However, that would have to pause for now; Yuna was now asking a question. And it was about his past too. She wanted to know what his 'reunion' was like when he met his brother, Ren. He paused for a moment, kind of surprised about the question. Red soon gained his senses back as he said, "Well.....It's far from any normal reunion. When I met my older brother for the very first time in years.....He was part of the darkness. And apparently, he was the reason for some effects that happened to me right before I met him. We still didn't know that we brothers yet....but he asked me to join the darkness. When I refused, he threaten to kill one of my....friends. So, I sacrificed myself to the darkness, but before I did, I made a promise to myself. I promised that I would come back to her, no matter what....." Red paused for a moment, before saying, "Heh....I'm mentioning someone else, besides my brother....Anyway, my reunion with my brother wasn't that 'happy' reunion that most people want but it was still a reunion." Red then asked Yuna, out of generosity and curiosity," Is there anything else you like to know?"

(That's okay: I'm getting behind my rps too, just because of school.>.>)
Red just had that look on confusion on his face. What did Yuna mean when 'it takes a long time to heal'? Red has never suffered so much that he regretted a choice he made for years to come. Then again, he was still at that young age; he couldn't possibly expience that kind of feeling...yet. Maybe sooner or later, but probably not now. Red thought that Yuna was old enough to understand that kind of emotion: It was probably the way that she acted and carried herself as a person that made her so....mature, you could say. With very little things to say, Red turned his confused look into an understanding one as he nodded his head in agreement.
Red cocked his head up a little bit as he turned his attention to Yuna's words. It turned out, she wasn't traveling alone on her 'pligramage', as she called it. She had two guardians with her, who were good friends with Yuna....from what Red was understanding, anyway. Since she was a summoner, she needed to have guardians; That was his guess. Red had started to realize that Yuna began to 'chock-up' at the end of her sentences. He brought his head down a little bit to get a glimpse of Yuna's face.
His eyes widen a little bit at the sight of Yuna crying....well, on the verge of it. Red could see that she was trying to hold back the tears, although it looked like she was struggling to do so. Once again, Red's sense of guilt began to seep in: He always felt guilty to see girl's cry, so he always tried to do something to cheer them up. In this case, though, Red couldn't come up with anything, much to his disappointment.
Red sighed a little bit, knowing that he couldn't think of anything to comfort Yuna. He looked down at the soft sand, thinking to himself during a short silence. 'So much for this peace-ful vacation...' Red thought to himself. He came here to relax and forget all his problems: Now, he was talking about his past, and it only brought-up his troubles into his mind. Oh well....at least he was telling it to someone that he already bonded with. Even though they have only known each other for a short time, Red felt like he could trust Yuna. She seem like a good enough person....
His thoughts were interuppted as he looked up back to Yuna. She asked him if he loved the girl that he saved. Immediatly, Red's cheeks flashed a small, fainted color of red. His eyes sort of widened from the question. Wow.....this was the first time anyone had asked him of such a thing.
Of course he loved her. He wouldn't sacrifice himself to darkness so quickly if he didn't. He loved her more than his own family....although, he had a certain reason as to why he could hate his brother. Red bit his lips a little bit, still kind of shocked at the question. He shook his head as the answer started to come to him. He looked to Yuna as he smiled a little and said, "Well.....we were friends with each other for a while......I guess it was natural for me to....fall for her.....heh...." Red was sort of lost in words: He didn't really know how to exactly respond to this question, since it was the first time anyone asked him this.
Even though he felt like he was going to go through that 'guilt trip'....he wanted to asked who was that other person was, before Yuna chocked up. He asked her," So uh........who was the other person that you going to mention?...."

(lol, that's alright. I'm kind of like that in real life. ) Red had started to realize the scenery around him. The sun was about above the horizon of the sea, which looked perfect. He didn't know that he was talking this long; it was kind of impressive, for Red. This was the longest time he talked to anyone without....moving. Whenever Red met someone, he usually asked them to 'tag' along with his adventures, or ask for help; It has been a while since he had sat down with someone and talk to them for a while. Red kept on looking up to the sky until he completely fell down on his back, just to relax. Of course, he was still paying attention to Yuna. He noticed the smile on her face, which sort of surprised him; perhaps answering that question was a mistake.... His eye momentairy glanced off to 'space', until something caught his attention. There was something on a tree near that small island, which was connected by the bridge and also by a ladder. He couldn't really tell what it was....he started to sit back up and sort of leaned forward a bit to get a better view of it. However, his short attention span got the best of him, as Yuna started to talk to him. He shook his head a little bit as he turned back to Yuna, who was answering his question. His eyes sort of widened, startled that she was talking to him. He needed to get learn his manners even better.... Her small story was a bit...unique, to Red. He had never heard of someone not 'belonging' in a world. Did it mean that he was from a different planet? Either way; the story sounded kind of depressing. After seeing her crying some time before....he was afraid that she would break down right there. Oddly, she didn't; She had just let out a sigh. A small sigh came from Red too, relieved that she wasn't crying. He was always horrible when it came to comforting someone when they were depressed. Another question came back to him, which Red heard quite clearly. Red took some time thinking about that question before answering it.....She did tell him about what she went through to get him back....although, some of it was a blur to him. He tried to answer her question the best he could as he said, " Well, I don't some of it but....I do remember she said that it involve with my nobody and my older brother heartless....she also traveled with this person named Hanku....." Red paused himself as he started to remember 'Hanku'. A small chuckle came from him as he said, "Heh.....I remember when I first met him....he was completely dull with his words.....but she sticked with her until the end, so I guess he was really loyal...." Red's attention turned back to the tree, with the strange object. He leaned forward even more to get a better view of it. Thankfully, the sun was still showing some light, so he was soon able to make out of the shape. It was in a shape of a star.....That's when it suddenly hit him. He remembered long ago....when he first met her......both of them shared the paopu fruit. Red could still remember the 'rumor' of the paopu's 'power'. He smiled a little bit, before turning back to Yuna and started to make a random conversation about the little thing; He thought it would be nice to mention something like that. Red said to her, "Destiny Island is famous for a fruit called a 'paopu fruit'....The fruit looks like a star. There's a rumor about the little fruit...Do you want to hear about it?"
