( Hooray for mood-setting BGM! XD Also, to let you know, I'm experimenting a new form of RPing, so bear with me. The first part in italics is Arky's mindset as the RP is opening. Also know that not all my posts are this long, lol.) They say that as you take your dying breath, your life flashes before you eyes. All of your deeds are layed bare before you, and you can't do anything to change them. All the times you left your loved ones in the rain, all the times you turned your back on a friend in need... all of it weighs down upon your heart and soul, making it so that your death isn't just one of the body.
What if... you don't have a heart to feel the pain though? What if your sould is elsewhere? What if you're just a shell? All of these questions and more have been coming to me lately. But... are these my thoughts? Or is there something... more to them? I search for this answer and more. I seek to repent for the misdeeds I performed in my life, and to wipe clean my slate. I want to be able to rid myself of this darkness once and for all... but, in order to do so... do I have to wield the very darkness from which I'm trying to free myself from?
I'm at a cross roads in my life. I can turn my back on the present and live in the past, giving in once again to the darkness that once consumed me. I can turn my back on the past, and step into the light, erasing all the evil I've wrought, and bring my loved ones closer to me. I can turn my back on my existence completely, and fade into a Nothing once again; doomed to wander a non-existence. So, what will I choose?
All of these thoughts plagued the young man who stood upon the clock tower, watching over Traverse Town. The youth, a keybearer by the name of Arkyron, wore a black trench coat with the Japanese symbol for wind upon its back. It had been hand-sewn by one of his fellow Organization Twilight members, Aras. Though Arkyron rarely spent time at Castle Twilight anymore, his fellow members were more like family than his deceased blood siblings.
Gazing up at the night sky, Arkyron took his hood down, allowing his dark blonde hair to fall to his cheeks. The keybearer's bright brown eyes were aglow with an ancient edge to them, as if he'd existed for years. Many a war-like period in his life had put the youth through hardship after hardship, hardening his heart. However, despite all of this, there were a select few, one in particular, who could pierce the stone that encased his compassionate heart.
"Crystal... Rukayron... my friends... I promise you, I won't let your sacrifices be in vain. I'll repent for my actions, and bring those responsible for your demise to justice..." Arkyron swore as he gazed at the stars. One in particular shined brightly on this night; a world that the youth recognized immediately as his homeworld. "I... I can't go home until I've made things right..." the keybearer promised.
Not a moment later, Arkyron noticed small black puddles forming in the square. Without hesitation, the seasoned warrior summoned two keyblades, one in each hand. In his left was a white keyblade with an angle wing at the tip shaped specifically for defense. The blade was called, "Banishment," appropriately, for it often repeled attacks, never to allow them to return. The other blade, appearing in his right hand, was a longer black weapon, made specifically for offense. Fate's Crossing, the blade was called. This was the first keyblade that was truly Arkyron's for he'd inherited Banishment from sheer will to avenge his sister, Crystal. The girl had weilded the weapon long before him.
Neo Shadows rose from each of the puddles in the square, quickly surrounding their incoming attacker. Many a foolish heartless rushed the warrior, only to end up small black droplets splashed upon the street. The ones that didn't rush Arkyron attacked him one by one, though they faired no better. Arkyron side-stepped, parried, and defeated one after the other until they were no more. Satisfied, the keybearer whirled both weapons over his head, creating a small gust, then watched as a flash emanated and the weapons disappeared. For lack of a desire for an audiance, Arkyron quickly pulled his hood over his face and began to make his way towards an alley.

(Posititevely splendid. ^_^ )
Good, evil, light, darkness... In the end, there must be a balance. With light comes darkness, just as with good comes evil. I suppose that though I'm a light in this bleak realm, there is still a cloud of darkness looming over my heart, desperate to take control. At times, I just want to give in and feel the sweet embrace of Nothing; to feel the emotional pains washed away. After all, I'd been Nothing before. In fact, Nothing is still a part of me.
Justice... such a deluded word. There can never be true justice so long as the corrupt have power over others. This I've learned and taken to be truth. Because I let myself be controlled by an unjust man, my beloved sister, Crystal, had suffered an unjust death. I'd tried to repent then, but it was far too late. Sadly, my brother was the next victim of this vicious cycle. I'd had to end my beloved brother, Rukayron, at the tip of my own blade. The pain that still lingers is unbearable.
The thoughts and memories still continued to plague Arkyron as he slowly walked through an alleyway and back into the main square. Calmly walking up the steps, the keybearer was fully aware he was being followed. One had to be aware of all their surroundings at all time if one wished to abstain from being swallowed by the dark. With a sigh, the youth looked up at the night sky once more.
The gaze wasn't held long however, for the sound of a dark portal nearby drew his attention directly in front of him. A single Soldier Heartless had appeared in front of him. Arkyron had to struggle not to laugh. Raising one hand, the keybearer launched a blast of dark energy, not slaying the creature, but stunning it and heavily damaging it. Arkyron believed it wrong to kill without necessity, even if it was just a Heartless.
With a shrug, the youth momentarily resumed his pace, walking just outside the door to the first district. Finally, feeling he was delaying the inevitable, Arkyron stopped, standing still as if he were a statue. Then, in a calculating way, the keybearer turned his head slightly and looked at his follower out of the corner of his eye. Arkyron's face was visible, if not somewhat shadowed, but his eyes were concealed by his now wet hair. "You're a brave soul to follow a stranger. I'm assuming you saw my show?" the youth asked in a strange tone, though he already knew the answer.
As Arkyron finished his statements, a dark, static-like current ran over his right hand as Fate's Crossing returned to his hand. Almost in reply to the appearance of the blade, Banishment returned in a flash of white light, the angel-wing at the tip glowing a bright blue. "Tell me... Do you wish to see my strength for yourself then?" the keybearer inquired, a more curious than fearsome tone in his voice. From the tone, it was obvious how sincere the offer was. It wasn't one of malice, but rather one of chivalry.

( Perfect Battle Theme For Arky. XD ) There is a fine line between bravery and foolishness. I've been on both sides of that line many times before. What side this stranger is on, I'm not sure. The youth before me seems confident and bold, though not foolhardy. I'll have fun testing him.
These thoughts echoed through Arkyron's mind as he smirked, a strange wind blowing around him now. "Well then, I suppose it would be rude to keep you waiting then," the keybearer replied, shifting into a battle stance. Arkyron crouched into a battle stance, twirling Fate's Crossing in calculation. "The wind guides me... can you keep up?" the warrior asked, vanishing from sight.
Arkyron quickly leapt to a nearby building, overlooking his challenger. "Can you ride the wind?" the keybearer inquired, moreso challenging his foe to take on his attack. Within instants, a rain of dark energy blasts rained down around where the youth stood. Not bothering to see if they landed, Arkyron levitated himself above the building for an instant before rushing towards the ground again.
As his feet touched the ground, the keybearer crouched into an attaking position, rushing the man. The warrior was attempting a horizontal combo. If the attack failed to connect, he planned to surround himself in a whirlwind to blow the youth back without damage so that he could recalculate. If that failed, Arkyron would be completely open to a formidable attack, and he knew it.

In battle, one must hold their ground or be swept away in a torrent of pain. Dream as if you'll live forever, but live as if you'll die today. Let nothing from the past weigh you down in the present.
Mementos from various sources echoed through Arkyron's mind, pushing him onwards. The keybearer was impressed by the youth's ability to interlock blades with him, but was also somewhat concerned. The concern faded when the challenger broke the hold and went soaring backwards, giving Arkyron the opening he needed. Arkyron leapt over the charging youth, landing some distance away with his back to the young man. "Memories echo from my heart," the keybearer said cryptically as he turned, launching several blades of wind at his foe.
Once again, Arkyron didn't wait for confirmation of a strike. Rather, he went in for an all out offensive. The keybearer jumped up and down, spriraling through the air in a dance-like fashion around this young man who had challenged him. Still refusing to await confirmation of a hit, Arkyron continued the physical onslaught, leaping up and down in his strange spiral motions, circling the youth with great agility.

Why? Why did Kingdom Hearts choose me to fight this batte? Why was I chosen to bare the keyblades? Why was I destined to engage the youth before me in vicious hand to hand combat? I suppose it didn't matter. I was there, and that was all there was to it. No thoughts, no words... nothing but the beating of metal against metal.
Arkyron continued his attack pattern, metal clanging against metal, until he realized he'd worn down the younger man before him drastically. Both of the youth's weapons were at his side, leaving him defenseless. To the keybearer's surprise however, the young warrior had another surprise up his sleeve.
An explosion was quicky triggered in front of Arkyron, forcing him to leap backwards to avoid damage. The keybearer never touched the ground though. Rather, Arkyron lingered in the air, levitating just two feet from the ground. "I see... Very impressive if I do say so myself. So that's why it chose you..." the keybearer said crypticaly. "That's what makes you different..."
With a mere flick of the wrists, Fate's Crossing and Banishment vanished from Arkyron's hands, leaving him weaponless. Then, slowly and cautiously, the keybearer lowered himself to the ground, and began to approach the youth before him in a calm demeanor. "My name... is Arkyron," he said, pulling his hood.
As the hood dropped behind his back, Arkyron's face was now competely visible. The young man's eyes were aglow with a serene, almost ancient brown, whist his hair was a long, dirty blond color. Without another word, the keybearer extended his hand to the younger man in a sign of friendship. "Knowing is half the battle," Arkyron said cryptically with a smile upon his face.

Fate. Such a dominating thing; moreso than many are willing to accept. All hearts are one, and as such, share the same destiny. That, is Kingdom Hearts. The heart of all worlds, the source of all life in this universe. That destiny had somehow taken me through many different experiences, many of them dark and shrouded in pain, and had somehow allowed me to remain here.
Arkyron's thinking and insight into the situation was incredibly deep, and many would think him strange for it. However, as the keybearer took the younger man's hand and helped pull him to his feet, he had a strange feeling from this young man, almost as if he were very familiar. "You have a very strong presence about you... an almost familiar one... I can't quite place my finger upon it though..." Arkyron said with a strange tone, as if he were trying to look into the past and future all at once.
With a sigh, Arkyron just shook his head and put his right hand to his forehead, leaving his left hand to hang by his side. The gold and blue ring shown brightly in the night air, giving it a sense of serenity. "You're right, I'm being too vague. What I mean, is that... you have that aura about you... I can see it in your eyes... you could be one of us... there is a great, sleeping power within you... I can see great hardships ahead of you, but you'll overcome them. Just keep your head up, and you'll get through things just fine," the keybearer explained, still intentionally remaining somewhat kryptic.
"The rest of it... I can understand now, just by looking into your eyes... they're filled with determination... You have that strong will... Kingdom Hearts sure controls our fates in strange ways... That's why it had to be you... I see..." Arkyron explained, realizing he was probaby still being vague, but it was for the best in his eyes.

The youth before Arkyron greatly underestimated himself; of that much the keybearer was sure. Many a great warrior had fallen to the young man in a smaller amount of time. What was it about this youth though? He had... the touch; that will. Could he be...? Perhaps, if he wished it and truly believed... though the time when it would be possible was a fair distance into the future, of that much Arkyron was sure.
In fact, so amused by the youth's lack of faith was Arkyron that he let out a chuckle. "You greatly underestimate yourself Kael. I'm a veteran warrior. I've wielded the sword from the age of six, though it wasn't until the last four that I've had to put it to use. Then just a year ago now..." the keybearer explained as Fate's Crossing and Banisment returned to him in a flash of light, "... A man approached me by the name of Thaed... and the next thing I knew, I was wielding these," Arkyron finished, smiling.
"I can very well assure you I'm not trying to make you feel better in any way..." the keybearer said, dismissing the weapons once more. "I'm merely being honest... as for the group I'm with... I'm afraid I can't tell you that. They'll approach you, or you'll find them when they wish to be found," Arkyron said in a calm tone, his emotion fading from his face.
"As for questions... I'm pleased to say I have plenty of time, and would be happy to answer questions within my ability... whether it be limited by knowledge or other barriers..." the young man said, his tone going slightly more serious for a moment. "So, what shall it be first?" Arkyron asked, smiling again. How odd it must have seemed to Kael for the keybearer to constantly change expressions.

Aryron laughed at Kael's response to his encouragement. Rather than answer that first question, he let it hang in the air with a smile. The smile quickly faded at the mention of Thaed, however. "I'm... I'm afraid Thaed... You see... many people... whenever they... it takes all the essence in one's being to bestow such a powerful gift..." the keybearer said with lament for his predecessor.
However, Arkyron couldn't help but laugh with Kael at his next statements. Though Arkyron was used to being high up, the sudden skyrocket of the two caught him off guard. Despite the sudden change, he remained calm. So, Kael was from here? Interesting... A serious expression frequently interchanged with the smile the keybearer struggled to maintain as he listened to the younger man. Deep down inside, Arkyron was just a kid... a kid who'd been forced to grow up too fast.

Arkyron was aware of the momentary awkward silence, but thought nothing of it. Then his fellow youth spoke, asking Arkyron about himself. What was there to tell? Nothing worth mentioning, the keybearer was sure. Kael was an intriguing and apparently trustworthy individual. However, Arkyron wasn't sure if he would accidentally say too much to his new friend and frighten him. Oh well, better to tell the boy as much as was safe.
"I come from a world called Gemini," Arkyron began, memories overtaking him as he spoke. "It's a peaceful world full of men and women skilled in a single magical element. Dragons roamed free, and the skies were always clear... Until he came..." the keybearer explained, a pained expression taking over his face. "I was at a cross roads with my brother and sister, both of whom are no longer with me... We were abducted by a man called Martieve who did horendous experiments upon us. My brother, Rukayron, and myself were infused with dark magics. My sister, Crystal, escaped though."
"I wandered for a long time, killing innocent men and women; destroying worlds without mercy... all under his command. The darkness he'd tainted me with corrupted not only my heart, but the memories within them. Until recent events, I had no recollection of who I truly was..." Arkyron admitted, a lament in his voice. "And so here I am, long story short."
