Smiles did not notice the girl form before. And it seemed that she hadn't seen him either. He climbed the steps that led up the rooms. Kyle Silver was ten feet in front of him. He walked slowly, as if he had all the time in the world.
When he reached the first floor he opened the door and began his way down the hall. Smiles, as quiet as can be, followed. He made almost no sound when he walked, stepping like a graceful dancer. Or perhaps a deadly assassin. It was hard to tell, but either way his feet made no noise. And so he was a ghost unnoticed by one Kyle Silver.
By the time he rounded the corner and made it to the door, Silver had made it to the corner. He peered from behind as Kyle took out the key and unlocked the door. Once unlocked he sighed and Smiles watched him head inside.
"It's show time." Smiles said to himself. He waited till the man had closed the door. Then silently he walked in front of the door. With his keen ears he listened to what Kyle was doing from inside.
"What the hell?" A muffled voice said through the door. Smiles knew exactly what caused that. He knocked on the door.

Ivory caught movement in the corner of her eye and looked up. She saw someone's retreating back going up the nearby stairs. Since no one appeared to notice, Ivory thought it was odd. She couldn't help but feel a bit curious. Giving Anubis a gentle pat on the head, she spoke. "Wait here for me, okay?" she said before turning toward the steps and heading up.
The way the figure had gone up here had seemed rather fishy. They had appeared as though they had been cautiously stepping upward. 'If I don't see anything, I'll just head back down!' she thought nervously. A vibe like she shouldn't be up here began to creep into her mind.
Since her nerves were on edge, Ivory cautiously walked into what looked to be some kind of hallway. She couldn't hear anything save for the silent footfalls she made and her light, careful breathing. As she got further inside, she heard a muffled voice. 'So someone is in here but who?' she thought, silently walking in further.
She had no idea what she might witness as she got closer to where she thought she heard a voice. There was a knock and she stopped before rounding the corner. Peeking around it, she saw someone knocking on the door. 'Isn't that the guy from earlier? What's he doing here?' she wondered.

Things happened quickly. Such a thing was expected in said situation. Smiles heard footsteps to the door and when the door opened, one Kyle Silver stood in the doorway.
"Can I do something for you?" He asked, looking Smiles up and down.
"Sizing me up are you?"[/i] He thought with a smile on his face. Smiles acted fairly quickly. He brought his hands together as dark and light energy mixed. The look of surprise on Kyle's face evaporated quickly.
He extended his hand, and already the keyblade was forming. But it didn't happen fast enough. Smiles raised his two sided gun. A pop sounded down the hallway as an energy bullet sailed through the air and made contact with the target's head. The look of surprise on his face was priceless.
Kyle Silver fell to his knees, his keyblade in hand. Blood flowed down the hole in the middle of his forehead. Such a thing was over almost as quick as it began. It wasn't one of the most interesting of deaths. Smiles sighed as he pulled the energy of his gun apart. "No challenge...." He told the dead Kyle Silver.
Turning about he began his way way back towards the hallway. He had no idea about the stranger around the corner.

As Ivory stood there, just around the corner of the hallway, she heard someone speak. It was a familiar sounding voice. Had that been the man from earlier? He was apparently addressing someone else whom had been standing at the door from what it sounded like. 'Huh, probably nothing to worry about!' she thought, turning from the corner.
She had no idea how very wrong she was. As she started to silently walk away, intending to regroup with Anubis, she heard a sound that made her stop dead in her tracks.
A sound as if a gun had gone off was what she had heard. Feeling her blood chill, Ivory didn't know what to do. Should she run? Should she go tell someone? If she were, who would she even tell? There wasn't anyone that she knew here to tell anything to. After all, wasn't death something that wasn't new to a world like this one? Who would believe her anyway? If it were a normal world then maybe but this wasn't. People would think she was just trying to scare them.
Footfalls coming down the hall sent a nasty chill down her spine. Maybe she was just imagining the fact someone had just been shot? Maybe she heard something that sounded like a gunshot and mistook it for that? Whatever the case, she knew she couldn't remain standing there. Whomever did whatever was coming this way and there wasn't a door to run off to! 'I should've stayed with Anubis and kept my nose out of this!' she thought.
If she bolted and they were to round the corner, they would know that she knew something. Should she act casual and oblivious? No, they'd probably still shoot her knowing she was down here. 'Crap!' she thought, turning toward the stairs. If she acted oblivious then whomever shot would think she heard wrong?

Smiles rounded the corner. When he did he stopped in place. He watched as Ivory practically flew towards the stair case. By her manner of running, there was no doubt that she had seen something. There really wasn't much that Smiles could do. Who knew who she might tell? And no doubt she would no who was responsible. That couldn't happen.
Throwing his hand forward, Smiles shot a wave of dark energy out of his hand. It was not aimed at Ivory, but rather right in front of her. At the same time he threw a wave of light energy to the wall next to him. The result was the same as the one that had hit the ground of energy. A portal opened on the surface right in front of Ivory.
At the rate she was running and given the large size of the portal, it would be almost impossible to dodge such a portal. If she happened to look down at the portal she would see a side image of Smiles, through the linked other end of the portal right next to him at the wall.
Continuing, Smiles smacked more energy together to bring about his gun. He was ready for when she came out the other end of the portal. The momentum of her running would continue as she popped out the other side. And Smiles would be waiting for her.

Ivory knew she had to make up her mind soon, if she remained here she would surely be in for more trouble. The problem was now that she wasted time debating, she had to really move it if she planned on getting away and pretending the whole thing never happened. She didn't know anyone that she could tell nor did she think it wise to go and blab. If she did, she was as good as dead once whomever did it tracked her down for squealing. Darius would've reported it right away but Ivory wasn't like her twin brother. There were things he was far more bold to do than she was.
Turning to the stairs, she had the sudden urge to run since she heard the footsteps getting closer. Surely, they were bound to round the corner and find her there. Knowing this, she made haste and made a break for it. The problem with that was, she hadn't been fast enough.
Ivory didn't realize it until she had found herself moving through some sort of weird dimension. Next she knew, she was right in front of the person behind her. She recognized his face from before as she saw him forming his gun. 'Oh crap!' she thought, her heart beat quickening as she came out to where he was.
Due to the momentum of her running, there was no way for her to stop herself in time. However, she did manage to skid and land on her butt. 'Ouch!' she thought before her thought process went into panic mode realizing if she didn't say or do something she might be shot too.
"D-Don't shoot!" she said raising a hand gesturing to stop. It might not work but she couldn't think of anything else except attack him but that wasn't something she wanted to do. Not if there was a way to try and talk her way out of it. Ivory was not the one to take the confrontational option first over a more passive one.

Smiles portal technique had worked splendidly. Everything had happened exactly as he had hoped it would. Watching Ivory fall into the portal and out the other one, she had no choice but to fall down on the ground or run right into Smiles's gun. That wouldn't have been the smartest thing to do. Lucky for her she chose the correct route.
Regarding her with a smile he raised his gun and pointed it at her skull. "I could shoot you. But it would be a waste of such an interesting person. Perhaps there is another way out of our said predicament?"
Not yet lowering his gun, Smiles seemed to be lost in thought for a mere second. "The problem... as I see it.... is that you saw or heard something your shouldn't. Now it doesn't matter much to me as to what you saw and heard. But to the others.... And trust me there are others... They don't take such actions lightly."
Turning back to her once again he continued. "Perhaps you might stop me. But I don't think you could stop them. Even with that wonderful armor of yours. Then again the odds of you succeeding in your current position are less then ten percent. That of course does not take in your ability factor. That is another say thirty percent to make up for. You would have a forty percent chance of stopping your death. Not great odds is it."
The entire time Smiles spoke he did it with a content look and a smile on his face. The whole situation seemed to make him happy, not at all angry. "So what say you? Do you wish to defy the odds... Or would you wish to negotiate some other solution out of this predicament of ours."

Ivory could do nothing as she looked back up at the figure. It was the boy from before who had helped her last time that was pointing a gun right at her head. Holding her hand up for a moment, she could see her life flashing before her eyes then. Right now, she didn't know if this guy was going to kill her or not. Looking back at him and the gun's barrel, she waited for him to respond. Would he just pull the trigger or would he be reasonable?
What was eerie about him was the simple fact that he was still smiling despite aiming a gun at her head. Instead of pulling the trigger, he decided to speak to her. Freezing in place, she listened to what he was saying. Apparently, he could easily shoot her right now but claimed it was a waste to do so since he somehow found her interesting. Why, she didn't really know but found it somewhat of a good thing right now if that was what kept him from shooting her at the moment.
There was a brief moment of silence as he went into thought, not yet lowering his gun. According to him, there were others and he was certain she had at least seen or heard something she shouldn't. It was because of them that he would have to kill her. He even went as far as telling her what her chances were of surviving if she were to go against him and the others. Where she could potentially stop him, he doubted that she would be able to take on the rest even with her armor regardless of her abilities.
As she watched him carefully, Ivory could see that he was doing nothing but smiling pleasantly as if he were enjoying every moment of this. Unexpectedly, he gave her a choice. Either she could try and set her odds against him and whomever the others were that he referred to or try and negotiate some other means. Well, it was only obvious what means she would take. Ivory didn't feel like she wanted to die or try to fight this guy. After all, she wasn't the confrontational sort like her twin brother.
"I-it's...obvious what route I'd...take!" she spoke finally, her voice found once again. "...I-I...don't wish to die. Isn't there anything I could do rather than that? I'd do anything!"

Smiles smiled. Such an odd sentence and such an odd thing for him to do. Especially since his name was such a word. Then again when one couldn't stop smiling at everything, one was bound to be called by such a thing. Relieved by her words, he lowered his gun and pulled apart the energy.
"Thank goodness your reasonable. It would be such a disaster if I had to kill you. Too innocent and not even worth killing. It would be nothing but boredom to the extreme."
He said more to himself then to her. Placing his hands in his pockets, he figured it would be best to leave this scene. Someone could be coming up those stairs at any moment. Not only that but they would probably be late if they didn't leave now.
"Well then let's get going. If were to have any hope to solve your predicament we must hurry. They won't wait long."
Smiles stretched out both hands and both white and black energy shot out of his hands. They collided in a single spot among the opposite wall. The result was a portal that led to an entirely different world. From here one could see what appeared to be the inside of a tall room purely white in color. On the far side was a large screen that was connected to various items.
"Well go on then. Time is a bit scarce at the moment." He said, gesturing to the portal.

What happened next surprised her. After all, one would think he'd rather have her killed first than choose an option. Honestly, she couldn't help but find him an interesting sort. How could someone still smile so much through all of this? It didn't make much sense to her. Still, she was relieved when he lowered his gun finally. In response, she let out a slight sigh of relief. 'Too close for comfort!' she thought. In fact, she thought she would have had a heart attack.
When he spoke, she gave him a confused look. Reasonable? If anything, she should be saying that about him! He was the one who could've easily killed her right then and there but he didn't. Instead he merely placed his hands in his pockets after muttering about how boring it would have been to kill her.
As if he had made up his mind about something, he spoke to her again. Looking back at him, she heard what he was saying. So they were going to meet up with these others he keeps talking about? Knowing that with what he was saying that they hadn't much time, Ivory pushed herself up off the floor finally. Now that she was sure he wasn't about to shoot her, she watched as he opened up a strange portal.
Through it, she could see some sort of room. Wondering if she'd be safe should she walk through there, Ivory glanced back over at him when he gestured toward the portal he had just opened up. Uncertain, since the others might not be as reasonable as he was, Ivory swallowed and stepped through the portal.

Smiles was quick to follow her. With his hands in his pockets he seemed to forget his previous deed. As he strolled into the portal, he was happy to see that things were exactly as he left them. There were a couple of dressers in the room, a couch, and a couple of bookshelves along the wall. It was a clean room, but their were hints of it being lived in at various times.
"I'm not here too often. I prefer hotels or people's homes." Of course this was the only way he could contact everyone. Looking up at the large screen he picked up a remote off one of the dressers and turned on the large screen.
It first showed a fuzzy screen but was quickly replaced by a screen split by boxes. There were six of them across the board and each box was pitch black except for a single number in each box. The numbers were One, Two, Three, Four, Five, and Seven. Six seemed to be missing. But that was to be expected when Smiles was number six.
Turning to Ivory he spoke to her once more. "Try not to say anything. We wouldn't want your fate left to you now would we. Best leave things to me." Before he could say anything more the numbers vanished and in their place was six shadowed out figures. One could make out their gender and perhaps even their figure. But the darkness cast over them shadowed their features.
"This is impeccable. What do you think your doing Smiles?! Bringing her here and in front of us. Kill her now!" That would be number five. It was a female voice and from the tone around Smiles and Ivory's age as well.
Smiles said nothing as Number Four spoke. "Oh shut it Bulls. Let the boy have his fun." Number Four was a large man with a big belly. But who knew what else he looked like. He had a masculine voice as well.
"Why don't you give her to me! I'll make her another of my bleeding pets. You can be sure she'll be dead if you give her to me." Number seven was smaller and had the voice of a female preteen.
Smiles didn't like that thought. There would be nothing left of Ivory if Number Seven got ahold of her. "Have you nothing to say?" Number Three was female but her voice sounded more like a robots then that of a human.
"Your always interesting Smiles. I'll give you that. But it don't matter what any of us want. It's the boss's opinion that matters." Number Two was male and had a cool sort of attitude to his voice. He was older then Smiles and Ivory but still young, that much one could tell by his voice.
Number Two was right. None of their opinion counted. Number One spoke finally. He had a western accent to his voice. "Well? Explain yourself Smiles."
Smiling, Smiles turned to the screen. "Why waste such talent. Surely she would prove an excellent Number Eight?"
That brought an uproar in almost everyone. Smiles said nothing as they all bickered back and forth until finally a gunshot ran through the screen. It was Number One who fired. "Can she be trusted?"
Smiles turned to Ivory. "Well can you?"

The room Ivory stepped out into was rather clean looking. Most of everything appeared to be untouched but there were some hints here and there of it being occupied. From what she could tell, it was someone's bedroom. Glancing over at the smiling guy who had brought her here as he spoke, she put two and two together. This was his bedroom but he didn't come here often since he preferred hotels or other people's homes.
There was a very large screen in the room. Ivory watched as the one whom had once pointed a gun to her head now turned it on. What was he doing? Curiously, she took her eyes off of him to look up at the screen now that it was on. At first, it was fuzzy but then it cleared. On the screen were several boxes as if the screen were a camera view of each different spot in the building they were now in. On the boxes were numbers.
As he turned to speak to her, Ivory took her bright blue eyes off the screen to look over at him once again. She'd need to be quiet if her fate was to be decided. Already, her stomach felt queasy at the thought of what decisions the group might make. Still, she nodded to show she understood. "Okay."
No sooner had she done so when a voice was heard. Looking up, she could now see profiles of other individuals on the screen. She couldn't see their faces since they were covered in shadow but she could tell what gender each person was and guess at their age by their voices. It was pretty obvious to tell that the current speaker didn't approve of him bringing her here. Ivory couldn't help but wonder about the name she addressed him as though. No one could be actually named such a thing, could they? Maybe they all used aliases? Well, yeah...she figured that should be expected since the organization was obviously secretive.
Ivory winced a little after the first one spoke before another voice responded to the first. The second's voice was obviously male and where he didn't protest Smiles' bringing her here, the way he said those words made her wonder. Fun? Next came what sounded like a preteen girl suggesting Smiles hand her over to her. That Ivory would be turned into another one of her bleeding pets and would be as good as dead if she were turned over to her. Hearing that, Ivory got a nasty chill down her spine then as she flinched at the thought.
A fourth voice spoke up, sounding rather robotic rather than human. They were asking Smiles if he had anything to say. As if to quash the other voices from arguing further, a man suddenly spoke up about how it only mattered to their boss with what he decided on. Whom the boss was, she couldn't tell amongst all the screens. Maybe screen numbered one was the boss? She couldn't tell for certain.
No sooner had the final voice finished speaking when Smiles finally spoke. Ivory blinked when he did so, stating that she had talent so why waste it. From what he was saying, he was trying to get the others to accept her as their eighth member. 'Their...eighth?!' she thought incredulously.
At the suggestion, all of the screens' owners got angered by it. There was a large amount of squabbling before a gunshot was heard. Hearing it, all voices were silenced immediately. A single voice was heard asking Smiles if Ivory could be trusted.
It was at this that Smiles turned to look at her again and asked if she could be. Feeling like she was on the spotlight again, Ivory wasn't sure how to respond. It wasn't like she'd go blabbing about them. She didn't know anyone other than her brother and he wasn't here to save her from her predicament. No matter how she looked at it, if she wanted to live she was going to have to do whatever she had to with these people otherwise they would all kill her.
"I couldn't go saying anything anyways. Who would believe me? People would think I'm nuts." She glanced back up at the screens before looking down at Smiles again. "I've kept secrets before, I've never mentioned any of them to this day. I can be trusted with that." Not that she wanted to be here but if she wanted to live there was no other choice. Darius wasn't here to save her, she was by herself and had to manage on her own.

Smiles turned to the screen. "Well that's good enough for me." Apparently it was not so for everyone else. There was an uproar once again but it was Number Five who spoke up loudest and clearest.
"Of course she'd say that! What do you expect her to say? Just look at her! She's bound to run to the first person she sees and blab all about us. We don't need an eighth. Kill her now!"
Smiles merely smiled. For he easily predicted what Number Two would say. "If your believe this so strong go on then Bulls. I don't think Smiles will just let you do that though. Best hope you can kill him too."
That brought a silence to the entire room. They knew that Number Two spoke true. Smiles was set on having this girl join them. "Snake. I swear that she'll be on my hands." Who Snake was, it was hard to tell. For none of them so much as said a word. In fact there seemed to be a sort of uneasiness felt through the screen.
Finally Number One spoke up. "Fine then. Train her as you see fit. I give you one week. Bulls if you are not satisfied with her in one week then I will give the order for you to kill her. And Smiles. You will not stop her with that, if she so decides. We must have unity in this committee."
With that the screen to Number One clicked and was replaced by a fuzzy white screen. Three, Four, and Seven were next to go. That left only Five and Two. "One week Smiles. And I'll be coming for both of you." With that Number Five left the screen as well.
The screen to Number Two was the only remaining screen. "You never cease to amaze me Smiles. I look forward to meeting you in person my lady." The last part was directed to Ivory. With that the screen went fuzzy and Smiles shut the television off.
"Well seems like we've gotten over our predicament haven't we. All that leaves now is your training." He said with a smile.

Admittedly, when Smiles turned to say that what she said had been enough for him, Ivory wasn't sure how he could just trust her like that. She didn't think of him as the naive sort. No, he was definitely far from that. The others obviously had the right mind to think Ivory would do otherwise. It was clear by how they all seemed to erupt at once, squabbling once again.
The one who spoke the clearest about her opinion was the first voice Ivory had heard from before. Looking at the screens, it was difficult to tell which was the voice's owner even now. It was clear that if Ivory had encountered her instead of Smiles that she would be dead by now.
As if speaking in defense, while not quite, the calm male voice from before spoke up. According to him, the first voice could try but would have to go through Smiles first. As if this were something none wished to try, the other voices went silent. Smiles obviously had a reputation amongst them and it was clear to Ivory that he was no pushover. 'Good thing I was smart enough not to try and fight him!' she thought.
Ignoring the others, Smiles spoke to someone that was called Snake. That she would be on his hands. At the mention of 'Snake' the others seemed to have a sort of discord amongst them. Who was Snake? Someone else they feared? Was Snake their leader? Ivory wasn't sure. She guessed she would find out if the decision was made to keep her as their eighth member.
The commanding voice from before finally spoke, saying that Smiles was free to train her then but only for a single week. If that week was up and number five wasn't at all impressed, she would then be ordered to kill Ivory. Ivory swallowed hearing that. Even if she was given a chance, the chances of five finding her acceptable was another matter entirely. The girl had made it clear that she didn't trust Ivory and would sooner kill her rather than let her live. Trying to prove herself wouldn't be something that seemed possible with someone already unwilling to give her the chance.
Screens started turning off after that. First one then three others. Two remained on. The woman from before spoke, Ivory finally detecting that it was number five. One week and she'd be coming for the two of them. Already it was clear that five wasn't going to give Ivory that chance even though she had to wait a week. 'I'd better watch out if I ever meet her in person.' She watched as number five's screen became all fuzzy like the rest, obviously having been turned off.
Now, there was just number two left. Speaking to Smiles, he told him that he never ceased to amaze him. Then, the next thing he said was directed at her. Well, he seemed nicer than the others had been. "Uh, thank you!" she replied and with that, number two's screen turned off.
Once again, it was just Ivory and Smiles as he shut the television screen off. Hearing what he said, Ivory couldn't help but think she got herself into a worse predicament but held her tongue. It really looked like she would only last for a week before that number five killed her. 'Well, guess I get to live a little longer than I would have in that hallway!' she thought. She couldn't help but wonder what 'training' Smiles would put her through. He wasn't an easy man to read, that was for certain. Even his colleagues seemed to have difficulty understanding him, just by the way they all reacted to him earlier.
"What...kind of training?" she inquired curiously despite her uncertainty.

Smiles would show her just what he meant. Throwing out his hands he shot two forms of energy out to the wall once again. It lead exactly back to the same hallway they had come form before. "Well I'll show you then."
He said as he walked through. Expecting her to follow, Smiles made his way down the steps and back to the main cafe section. It was filled even more so then before. There were humans as well as natives all mixed in the area. It seemed no one had yet to find the dead body upstairs. Or if they had, it wasn't widely know.
That was a good thing either way in Smiles concern. He found the only open table remaining and took a seat. There was another chair adjacent to him and he gestured for Ivory to take a seat. Little did she know but training was about to begin.
"Right then. You asked about training?" Smiles summoned energy and brought the two together to summon his gun once more. With almost boredom he raised the gun and point blankly shot a random person in the head.
The reaction was what one might suspect from such a thing. People screamed and if it wasn't for the loud voices of people, they would have known that it was because someone was just shot. Smiles turned to Ivory. "Go on. Kill everyone."

Ivory watched as Smiles created a portal once again with that energy. Looking into it, she could see the same hallway they had been in moments ago. Why was he taking her back to Halloweentown? Hearing his words, Ivory watched as he headed through it. Taking that as her cue to follow him, Ivory did. Just what was he going to have her do? Were they going to train fighting wise or something?
She didn't have a clue what he would have her do as she followed him from the hallway down into the main cafe section. Looking around, she wondered what would take place. Glancing around, she didn't see Anubis anywhere. The dragon must have wandered off, no longer finding a need to stick around for the time being.
Returning her attention to Smiles, she watched as he made his way to an open table and sat down. Gesturing to the other seat at the table, he was indicating for her to have a seat. Obeying, Ivory sat herself down and looked back at him. What were they doing here? Was he going to have her train after enjoying a bite to eat or something? She really wasn't sure what he had in mind as she sat there before him, looking back at him curiously.
It really looked to her like they were going to have some coffee before doing anything. Boy, was she proved wrong when Smiles spoke finally. Simply conjuring that energy of his again to form his gun, he pointed it at some random person and shot them in the head! Ivory's eyes widened as she turned to look at where he fired the shot. A person's head had gotten it, a clean kill as the individuals around them and the person he shot screamed.
People were in a panic, scrambling to get up and try to run away. In the commotion, it was hard to tell whom had actually fired the shot. All the screams made it difficult to hear. Being close to Smiles though, there was no way that she couldn't hear what he said next.
Smiles wanted her to kill everyone! Ivory looked rather shocked at the statement he had made. Then again, she had figured he had shot someone earlier, this should not have been that big of a surprise to her. Getting over the shock, she turned to look at the people running about in confusion amongst themselves, not a single one managing to leave the cafe just yet in all the confusion.
Her heart beat quickened at the thought, her face paling. Well, if she didn't do it, they'd kill her. Shakily, she got to her feet as she clenched her right fist. As she did so a bright dark purple light illuminated her. When it went away, she was adorned in her armor again. Instead of holding her sword,s she extended a hand at a person that almost made it outside and unleashed a dark energy beam. As she did so, it shot straight for them, getting them after shooting through two other people.
The fact she just did what she did shocked her. She hadn't really hesitated all that much and she felt a part of her die inside as she saw the people drop to the floor, dead. 'Why must I do this?' she wondered before unsheathing her katanas and slashing this way and that, killing four more people. Blood began to flow onto the floor, making it slippery for those trying to maneuver away. Ivory made her way to the front of the place and blocked the only exit. Tears were in her eyes at the realization of what she was doing.

By the time it was all over, the floor was filled with bodies and blood pouring out of corpses. Only one person remained alive besides them two. The owner of the cafe hid behind the counter of the bar shaking. He had no idea that Smiles knew exactly where he was.
Ivory of course was probably in shock. She had just killed everyone in this room. Of course that was lesson in all itself. If they had more then a week, Smiles might have left it at that. He remembered the first time he killed someone. He could almost hear their screams as he watched them die.
Well his parents had lost their interest long ago. Hopefully Ivory would not loose his. Otherwise... Well their was no point in thinking about that just yet. Smiles raised his gun and a soft pop filled the empty, silent air. It hit the mirror above the bar with a crash as it fell to the ground.
"Please, don't shoot." The bartender slowly rose, holding his hands up in a defenseless manner. It was time for the next lesson.
Smiles finally rose from his chair. "Ivory. This is the owner of the inn. He has two children and his life centers around this inn. He was the first person in Halloween Town to promote humans. When everyone wanted to turn them away, he was the one to convince the town's people to give them a chance. A great man surely."
He turned away from the owner and back to Ivory. "Kill him."

Ivory was indeed in shock. Looking at all the bodies that lay around her, she couldn't believe that this was her own doing. She wasn't the type to take people's lives...at least that is what she had thought. Yet, here she was amongst a mass number of dead bodies all by her own doing. It was horrible! It were as if she discovered a side of her that she never knew she had. All because she wanted to live, she took the lives of others! Was it really worth it? Then again, now that she looked at the place, there was no turning back now for her. She had killed!
Tears still fell from her face as she stood there. After having killed all of them, at least that is what it seemed, she had been unable to think of what to do next she was in such a state. 'What have I done?' she thought sadly.
As if coming from a far off distance, she heard Smiles' voice again. Blinking, coming slowly out of her trance she looked toward him slowly. Her reaction was a bit slow because of the mental state she was currently in. Tilting her head a bit, she glanced toward where she heard the mirror shatter. Then, a voice was heard as a local of Halloweentown stood up with his arms raised in surrender.
As Smiles rose from the chair, Ivory just looked back at the bartender rather blankly. She wasn't sure what she had to do. She knew in her heart though that things weren't going to bode well for him. Smiles definitely had something planned for him. This was her training session and having killed a large number already, who was to say one more wouldn't hurt?
Hearing what Smiles said, she glanced around at the entire room. All of them had families, friends, and things they must've done for the good of others. It was because of her that they'd never get to see their family or friends again. As this sunk in, Ivory couldn't help but shed more tears silently. Why was she so weak inside? Why didn't she try to be like her brother?
Turning her attention on the bartender, Ivory's eyes seemed to have become uncharacteristically glazed and distant. There was no warmth in them as she slowly approached the bartender. Her eyes, they were the eyes of a killer. As she reached him finally, Ivory distanced herself with what she was about to do. Unattached, as if she were looking on at what she was doing, Ivory grabbed him by the throat and threw him over the counter into the main room where she and Smiles were.
The guy let out a horrible wail as he went flying. Once he landed in a heap, Ivory leapt into the air. Coming down at him, she jabbed her swords, one in the head and the other the heart. Feeling the blood splatter her hands and armor, she didn't really react. Right now, she was mentally blown. She was still in shock at everything even though her eyes seemed distant and off.

Smiles nodded as he watched Ivory go through with the final killing. Believe it all this was necessary. It was better to get the first kill done now. It was the very first thing that one had to understand about being an assassin. Walking over to her, Smiles placed a hand on her shoulder.
He knew she was distant and in shock. It would be expected given her first situation. Smiles's first death had not been so. Then again he was a different sort of person. "Never forget that they all have lives. But an assassin must never hesitate. For it will mean their life if they do."
Such was true in their line of work. The people they would be killing were not the type that went down easily. There was no blatant fear. The people they were killing were dangerous individuals. "Come. "
With that said he took his arm off her shoulder and took apart the energy of his gun. He had no need for it now. Thrusting both hands out, he sent two kinds of energy into the wall. Having created another portal this one led to a cellar in the basement of the cafe. He motioned for her to follow.
Walking in the cellar he found the switch he was looking for and turned on a light. What it revealed was a cage where a small girl was chained inside. She wore nothing but a long t-shirt and couldn't be more then twelve years old. "If you had not killed that inn keeper. This girl would have died tonight after more torture and who else knows what. We do what we do for the greater good. Sometimes to save a life you must take others. This ideology is the single one that will get you through each day in the line of work as an assassin."
Reaching down he opened the cage. The girl inside backed away in fright, scared to even move. She had as much of a distant look on her face as Ivory did. What Smiles said was true. He just didn't believe a word of it. But that didn't mean Ivory wouldn't.

Although her eyes were distant, seemingly glazed, they were also tearful. Her mind was trying to find a way to process it all without breaking. After such a traumatic thing for her to do, her mind was scrambling to amend her mental state. She blinked when she felt a hand rest on her shoulder. Coming out of it a little, she looked over at Smiles.
She barely processed any of it as he told her that hesitating could cost an assassin their life. Where everyone had lives, an assassin should not hesitate to take one.
Opening up another portal, Smiles told Ivory to go with him. Not really having the mental capacity to disobey right now, she followed him through. Stepping out, she found that they had come into what appeared to be some sort of basement. She wasn't sure where exactly at first.
She winced at the sudden light and blinked as she glanced around, her memory of the situation gone for a bit because of this new event. Her pale bright blue eyes fell upon a girl entrapped within a cage as if she were some sort of animal. The poor thing wore nothing but a long t-shirt.
Looking at the girl in shock, Ivory was able to hear what Smiles was telling her. That bartender had held that girl here captive. If she hadn't killed him, this girl would have died after torture. Her brain processing this, Ivory couldn't help but feel a bit better knowing this. Hearing Smiles's words, she was able to put some of her mind at ease. They had saved a girl's life. 'So, there is some good to this.'
Ivory's gaze became less distant as she watched Smiles open the cage door for the girl. In response to him opening the door, the girl shrunk away in fear, unable to move. Looking at her, Ivory pitied her. "It's alright now...he won't bother you anymore." Her voice where cracky from the trauma she faced today, was gentle and warm. She was trying to soothe the kid at least a little bit.
