(I love the KH I HB battle theme and the normal theme. XD Battle theme: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ao5KR5_sYL4&mode=related&search=Standard theme: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gdr3EJ6GKFI&NR=1)Up and up the stairs. The steps seemed to be endless. Worse, there were Heartless at the top of each flight! Sure, they were mostly Darkballs, but the creatures were very annoying when the wiggled back and forth through the air in rapid circles. Finally, Ryujin found the entrance into the castle now known as Villain's Vale. Though this was what Ryujin had searched for, the young vampire hesitated to step any closer. What if vast amounts of eneimies awaited within? What if he never returned from those dark hallways? Mika would miss him dearly... He couldn't do that to her... but he had to know what lay within. So, drawing his short sword, Ryujin stepped inside the halls, into the unknown. (not my best opening ever, but oh well, lol.)

Glancing around the hallways in suspicion, Ryujin slowed his pace. The young vampire thought he smelled something, but wasn't positive. A voice quickly reassured his nigh month-old senses though. If Ryujin's heart were still beating, it would have ceased the instant he saw the vampire that addressed him. It was as if the elder was made of snow itself.
Regaining his composure however, Ryujin retained a calm demeanor, and his expression betrayed no emotion but surprise. A grin quickly crossed his face, revealing his small fangs. "I assume then you're a vampire such as myself? Forgive me for not sensing you sooner. I've only been in the bloodline for a month at most. My senses are still dulled by my human blood," the young one replied letting out a small laugh. "It's funny what one will do out of love for another..." Ryujin whispered quickly to himself, thinking of Mika's great emotional sacrifice to save his life.

Ryujin listened to his elder with a quizzical look upon his face. Apparently his whisper had been heard, but Devlin had taken a different meaning from his words. However, the elderly vampire's finishing words struck a wound in Ryujin's heart. "No... she... she took away my pain... she saved my life by giving me this new form. If it weren't for her, I'd be... or, she could have even just drank my dry...” Ryujin replied, a tear rolling from his right eye as he remembered how sad Mika had been that she'd had no other choice.
"If... if I hadn't been so stupid, she wouldn't have had to make the emotional sacrifice she did... sure, now we have eternity to spend together, but she also has eternal guilt... she thinks it was a selfish act..." Ryujin explained, trying to retain his composure, but failing. "Damn you Martieve... damn you to the deepest core of hell..." the young vampire muttered under his oncoming sobs. Until now, Ryujin hadn't even realized how heavy the emotional weight was.

(Would you still like to invite Mel? If so, I'll PM her.)
Ryujin's eyes flared up in anger at the elder vampire's denial of everything he held true. The green color that normally adorned their borders turned blood red, and Ryujin found himself trying not to bite into his lip with fury. "Enough," the youth demanded in rage, though still attempting to remain calm. "What is it you really want other than to antagonize me? I've had enough of mind games!" the young vampire declared, fighting the urge to draw his sword and attack.
Every anger, every hate... all of it was intensified by Ryujin's young instincts and the human blood that still flowed through his veins, gradually burning into the energy that fueled him. Fighting every instinct to attack, Ryujin forced himself into place, awaiting a response. The young vampire wasn't sure he could stand another insult to Mika though. It would likely drive him over the edge.

Ryujin calmed down greatly as Devlin dropped the subject, but he was still on guard. It was very tempting to draw his sword at the elder vampire, but common sense told him to do otherwise. Within moments, he was sure that he could hear someone approaching though. Ignoring it, Ryujin turned his attention back to Devlin. Then, just as the young vampire was about to speak, another voice broke the air.
Apparently it was that of a female vampire, who, by the words she chose served Devlin. The female stepped and spoke with such grace that Ryujin found it almost supernatural. Then again, all three of them sort of were supernatural. What was it about these two that gave him a sense of foreboding? Well, it was obvious that Devlin meant no good in Ryujin's eyes, but what of this new female vampire?
Ryujin completely calmed down as Mika's voice echoed in his head, reassuring him that everything would be alright. Devlin... he must be the type of vampire Mika had spoken of that was out to follow pure instinct. The young vampire was sure that Devlin wished him to do the same. Ryujin couldn't let that happen though; he'd made a promise to Mika. Ryujin had promised her that no matter what, he wouldn't change just because of what he was now.
Ryujin now took on a completely calm and insightful look as he stared into Devlin's cold eyes, then turned them to Mel's, and back to Devlin. "So I see you have friends then, Devlin," the young vampire commented, wondering if this girl was the only one with him. "So, what brings you two here?" he asked, curious.

Ryujin's jaw dropped in horror at the mention of the slain. How horrid! Countless, she'd said!? Ryujin couldn't bring him to harm a soul unless they were harming the innocent. Ryujin's eyes were wide with the horror that pierced his heart; the pure malice that the two must have mastered to have slain so made him cringe! "My name... is Ryujin," he said, tensing as rage for the fallen built within him.
"I made a promise though... I promised... I promised Mika that what she did to me wouldn't change who I am, and how I am! What you have to teach me doesn't exactly put my mind at ease. True, I've feasted and killed humans... but only those who were slaying the innocent without reason. I've destroyed far more Heartless and Nobodies than a number of humans I ever hope to kill!" the younger of the three exclaimed, baring his fangs.
"I'm not a monster. I WON'T BE A MONSTER. I PROMISED MIKA!" Ryujin shouted now, rage overwhelming him. "If it weren't for the sun rising outside, I'd be out of here already! The thought of killing senselessly disgusts me! I don't care who you are, or how much longer you've been a vampire. You're a person regardless, and you have the power of choice," he explained his feelings, calming down now.
Such was Ryujin's rage that the green flames he manipulated instinctively appeared upon his body, encasing him in a menacing green glow that matched his jade eyes. So used to the flames was Ryujin that he didn't even notice their appearance until a bright flash of green shot up before his eyes. "Forgive me for my little pyrotechnics display... it comes naturally... ever since I turned, that is..." the young vampire remarked, fangs still hanging outside his lips as he frowned.

Ryujin lowered his head in disgrace. As much as he hated the fact, Devlin and Anora were both right. The young vampire tightened his fists, but quickly released them. "I shouldn't have come here... and I shouldn't have spoke so boldly... I didn't mean... I..." Ryujin tried to say, but couldn't find the words. Instead, he found himself drawing his sword, and smashing clean through a wall in fury with a shout of rage.
Realizing what he'd done, Ryujin's eyes widened in fear and realization at his actions. "You're right, Anora... and I'm sorry... It's not easy... but I still refuse to conform to that lifestyle. I'll... I'll find a way... I don't know how, but I will... even if it kills me," the young vampire said, a sad tone in his voice as he sheathed his sword. "I hope one day you'll be able to forgive me..."

Ryujin listened intently to Devlin, untrusting of the elderly vampire. What do I do? If I trust him, he may turn on me... I feel that I can trust Anora so long as she isn't too heavily influenced by Devlin... but... what if I'm wrong? What if I can trust these two, and everything will just go smoothly? I could miss out on important allies... or end up with claws and fangs in me, if not some weapons they have... the young vampire thought, being very very cautious.
"Nothing fresh...?" Ryujin repeated, still thinking hard. "I... suppose I see no harm in it..." he finally responded, still uncertain. I hope I know what I'm getting myself into...
