In the eternal night of Traverse Town's Second District a single figure casually strolled out of the hotel. David ran his hand through his hair as he yawned and looked around the area before leisurely heading toward the gate to the First District. Ever since he had returned from his training it had been one job after another for a month, and he figured he had earned a small vacation.
He barely paid any attention to the multitude of hearts he could sense all over, Light and Darkness mingling in unique ways in each one. He was in a city after all, and the Heartless were too stupid to try an ambush or even appear behind him. Right then his only goal was to wander around until he grew bored, then maybe get back to his main reason for being there. He found himself talking aloud as he walked through the gate. "There's got to be someone here that's heard of another Keyblade Wielder..."

Kairi had just walked through the gate to the first district after being dropped off by Sora, Donald, and Goofy in their gummy ship. She was told a few different reasons why she should come here. Sora said something about dropping off a postcard in a mouth-shaped mailbox and to see if there were any heartless wandering about. Only after she walked a few feet did she realize what happened and frowned. "He still doesn't think I can handle anything rough!" She exclaimed aloud. "I have to get back at that lazy bum somehow.." She dropped the postcard in and a mega-potion came out. "Mph! Ill just keep this.." She said picking it up and placing it in one of her pockets before she walked up the stairs to the accessory shop, preparing for some easy heartless hunting.

As David stepped through into the First District he was nearly overwhelmed by the unexpected sense of pure Light coming from someone nearby, far too much to even be his sister, who's Elemental Affinity was Light. Curiosity filled him as he walked down the stairs beside the accessory shop, glancing at each person he saw. Nobody he could see possessed even half of that Light until he rounded the corner to the front on the building and stopped dead in shock.
Most people wouldn't assume much looking at the young teen walking up the plaza steps, but most people didn't have David's Auric Sight either. To him the girl was nearly too bright to look at without squinting, and somehow lacked even a shred of Darkness. As the shock faded he recalled old legends about those without Darkness, the Princesses of Heart. He also realized that he had been staring at her for a few minutes. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to stare, I've just never met one of the seven before." He hoped that was enough to get his point across without being too obvious. "My name is David Talec, a mercenary and Heartless exterminator based out of Radiant Garden."

She was about to walk the exact way that someone else was coming from when they suddenly turned and addressed her, it did not take very long to her to figure out what he was talking about and she was honestly surprised he knew. She turned and blinked. "Hey, im Kairi. How did you know? Did you hear stories?" She asked curiously, the only way she could think anyone knowing her being a princess of light is if they heard the story of when the seven of them being kidnapped and taken to Villains Vale.
When she heard Heartless exterminator she blinked. "Are there any heartless left?" She asked curiously, honestly looking forward to some action since lately all she has been doing was training lately. "Kairi, Sora already left. He won't be back for a few hours." A soft voice inside her pointed out. "Shoot, you're right. What will I do?" She replied internally, staring off into space during her little mental conversation.

David shook his head at Kairi's first question as he finally got used to the glare from her aura. "I hadn't heard any specifics, but I can see auras and sense the Light and Darkness in hearts. That was enough to let me figure it out." He was expecting the next question after hearing her name, since he already knew most of the stories told by the people of Radiant Garden.
What he was not expecting was the fluctuation of her aura just after. It almost looked like there were two separate auras there for a moment, but he had no idea how that could even be possible. He pushed the thought away as he answered her. "I'm actually not here on a job right now, so I've only been fighting when the Heartless attack me first. I'm sure there's plenty left out there."

She sighed happily when she found out she would still have something to do and then blinked as she thought about his ability. "Auras? I never heard of that.." She then smiled and started to slowly walk towards the door to the second district. "It's nice to meet you David but if there are Heartless out there, I gotta squash them." She said trying to sound tough despite Shadows, Soldiers, and Large Body's being pretty much all she would encounter. She smiled and put a hand on the door but did not leave just yet. "Oh by the way, if you weren't here to hunt heartless then what was it? Visiting family? If you don't mind me asking." She said as she held a hand out in the air and started fingering for her keyblade, not letting it appear just yet. She briefly reached her other hand to her pocket, wondering if she should use her other keyblade instead but decided against it.

David followed Kairi as she spoke, already planning to help her with the Heartless. Still, he paused for a moment when she asked him why he was there. "I'm actually looking for someone to answer a few questions I've had." He was about to elaborate, but stopped when he noticed her hand in midair as if to grab something. An idea began to creep into his head at that point, but he wanted to be absolutely certain before he mentioned it. "Do you mind if I tag along on your Heartless hunt? I've got a theory I want to test." If he was right, then he might just be the luckiest person in the Realm right then.

She nodded with a smile at his question. "Sure thing, what questions were on your mind?" She asked as she pushed open the door and walked through, looking around. A red nocturne appeared and she quickly held out her hand for her keyblade to appear. As soon as it appeared she pointed it at the airborne heartless. "Blizzara!" A few ice blocks were shot from her keyblade at it, destroying it effortlessly and she quickly caught the munny it dropped and turned to David. "Looks like there might be a lot." She said before putting a hand on her hip. "Hope you can handle it." She taunted the guy who had introduced himself as someone who exterminates heartless. She slipped the munny in her pocket and got a better hold on her keyblade before she kept walking, not knowing that he might now have questions for her.

David grinned as Kairi summoned her keyblade, confirming his suspicions in an instant. He was a little impressed at how quickly she had killed the Red Nocturne, but then again she was probably learning from someone. He couldn't help a short laugh as she taunted him, probably without even realizing what he was. As Kairi continued walking he sensed another Heartless just as it appeared to their right, this one a Soldier. David quickly stepped forward to confront it. "My questions are mainly about keyblades and how people get them."
With a practiced flick of his wrist David summoned his own keyblade in a flash of violet light. The weapon was sized perfectly for him, about 50 inches long, and made up entirely of fused shards of multicolored crystal in blues, oranges, reds, and purples. The instant he felt the hilt under his fingerless glove he charged forward with a quick slash, sending the hapless Heartless flying into the wall and it's doom. He turned back to Kairi with the same cocky grin and rested his blade on his shoulder. "As for the Heartless, I think I'll manage. It's nice to finally meet another Wielder."

Kairi suddenly saw him pull out a keyblade and take out a heartless in one swift move. "Show off." She said with a pout before hearing a tiny giggle inside her. "What's so funny?" She mentally said. "Nothing~!" She heard from her nobody. She rolled her eyes before she thought about his questions. "Huh. I got my keyblade from a friend, and since I could use it. He won't tell me where he got it and I guess I can use the keyblade because of the princess of heart stuff." She said walking down thr stairs until she was out in the open field. What appeared however were a bunch of heartless she never even SEEN before. In all reality they were called Invisible's, and Assault Riders. She was about to attack before a Invisible flew at her and swung its sword at her, she pressed her other hand against the side of the keyblade and feel her shoes sliding backwards on the ground from the strength of the creature. "Help!" She screamed out as she tried to push back, although she was not very good as physical combat.

David's grin grew at the sight of Kairi's pout, though his earlier confusion resurface as her aura fluctuated again. He didn't have much time to wonder about it though, since a group of much tougher Heartless chose to appear right then. One look told him that he needed to get serious quickly, and his purple and gold full plate encased him a moment later. That moment was enough for Kairi to try attacking, though it didn't seem to have much effect.
David knew she couldn't hold up for long, so he charged the Heartless from the side to break the standoff. His voice echoed slightly as it passed through his helmet and he pointed at the Assault Riders. "I'll handle the Invisibles! Take out the Assault Riders with magic, but try to keep them at a distance!" By the time he finished the Invisible had recovered and was coming straight for him. He barely managed to parry the blow, locking his keyblade against its blue sword. "Let's see how you like this. Lightblade!"
At his shout a bright light shone from within the crystal of his keyblade, and the Heartless' blade began to sizzle and melt as Light overcame Darkness. The creature hesitated for a moment, allowing David to turn its blade aside and strike its sword arm, leaving a nasty burn in his wake.

She nodded as soon as he attacked the invisible. "I got a idea!" She yelled out as she ran up towards a crowd of them. "Fira! Thundara!" She yelled out, using magic to take out a specific few of them, seeing a few in a straight line she grinned, holding out her keyblade. "Light!" She yelled out, the beam piercing the riders right in their core. She then panted, a few of them still there. She sighed and backed up against a wall as one decided to charge at her with it's spear. "Nononono!" She said rolling out of the way at the last second, it's spear sticking into the bricks, giving her a chance to jump up and get a few hits in on it, it was very clear that basic attacks were not her strong point. "Blizzara!" She said, finally getting it, she was breathing heavy at this point and there still was a few Assault Riders left. She briefly thought about running. "N.. No! I'm not that weak!" She yelled out, getting back and starting to channel all of her light through her keyblade. "Hurry! Over here! Do what i'm doing!" She said, preparing to use her only ace in the hole, knowing she would need that potion she had if it even worked. She held out her keyblade and bright light appeared on the ground around her, she hoped that she could still use Holy even though it was unlikely David knew the move himself.

David continued to strike out at the Invisibles with impeccable swordsmanship, never leaving himself open and always in motion. He nearly seemed to be dancing, flowing from one stance to another with such efficiency that it appeared graceful. Three of the Purebloods had fallen to his shining blade when Kairi's shout reached him, though several more still floated nearby.
David quickly disengaged from the remaining Heartless and moved toward Kairi, recognizing the spell she was attempting as one that needed two people, but first he ran to one side of the plaza and stabbed the ground. "This should buy us some time! Crystal Genesis!" The ground rumbled for a second before three foot high crystal spikes erupted from it, forming a line ten feet long between the Heartless and them.
Satisfied, David joined Kairi and mimicked her pose, channeling his Light into the spell that he hoped would finish the fight. If it didn't then he'd have to, and that probably meant using his Aspect, which probably meant him having to pay for damages. Again.

As soon as he came over Kairi wasted no time. "Holy!" She screamed out, and as soon as she did, both of their keyblades would light and a shockwave of light would spread out from the two keybladers at the heartless, destroying almost all of them instantly once the wave passed over them, like they just summoned a ocean of heartless-death. But immediately afterwards Kairi made her keyblade disappear and groaned, not even caring about the munny and synthesis items the heartless dropped, she fell back on her butt and reached into her pocket, pulling out the mega potion and throwing it int he air. She soon felt the green light pass over her and ease her wariness. She stood up and smiled at David. "Thanks, if you weren't here I woud've ran away." She said, now in a better position to admit that after they took down almost a hoard of heartless. She then realised something and sighed. "I hope the other areas arent like this..." She said before summoning her keyblade again and smiling at him. "Ready to keep going?" She asked with a smile.

David grimaced under his helmet as the wave of Light spread across the area. While it did decimate the Heartless, it also gave him a rather bad headache, thanks to his half Dark nature trying to fight the spell. Still, the fight was over, so he guessed it was worth it. He dismissed his armor just as Kairi threw the mega potion, drawing the last wisps of Darkness from the Heartless to him in a few seconds. Those wisps were quickly absorbed, bringing him back into balance and thus relieving his headache.
Feeling better, he returned Kairi's smile with a knowing grin as he nodded. "Don't worry too much. I've still got two or three aces up my sleeve if something else happens." He was still hoping nothing would, though for a much simpler reason than most would suspect. Only one of those three involved not breaking lots of things.

She nodded and started to walk towards the third district. "So, did ya have anymore questions I could answer?" She asked, seeing no more heartless appear in this area as she walked. "I think they just want to attack me.." She wondered internally as she neared the door, Namine said nothing. Soon she was standing right at the door for the third district and she turned and grinned at David, tapping her keyblade against his. "Cheers, lets hope there is less in there." She said before waiting to answer any questions he had, also giving him the option of going first so the heartless might not try to attack them.

David shook his head as he followed Kairi into the alley leading to the Third District. "Not that you could answer, probably. My main question is if there is a difference between inheriting a Keyblade and making one yourself." He raised his sword for emphasis as he paused. "I actually made mine, and it seems to have an ability that no other Keyblade I've seen has. I can actually reforge it if it ever breaks."
As they stopped before the gate his grin turned slightly savage at Kairi's words. "I actually don't care how many there are in the Third District. I had to rebuild it nearly from scratch once, and I made it so everything is immune to my abilities. I can go all out without worrying about damages for once." Still, he went first since it seemed she wanted him to. He tried to sense anything ahead of him, but the intensity of Kairi's Light made it nearly impossible to get anything more than a faint impression. Truthfully, a Darkside could be in there and he wouldn't be able to sense it at that point.

Kairi nodded and took all this information in stride and followed him into the third district. "Hm. How do you make a keyblade? I thought it just.. Chose people." She said, relaxing and making her keyblade appear when he told her about the reconstruction of the third district, she could already tell he was strong from their recent encounter with the heartless, and to hear he was holding back meant that if he went all out, Kairi would not even need to help, seemingly picking up on this trace of thought though was Namine. "I thought you wanted action? To show how tough you are." She said, Kairi having the mental image of the nobody smirking. She rolled her eyes. "I don't see you out here with a keyblade trying to fight them all." Then there was silence. "I wish I could come out there.." She said sorrowfully which made Kairi feel guilty for what she "said?" inside conversations were confusing.

David shrugged as he entered the Third District, not even bothering to look back at Kairi this time. "I have no idea how they used to do it, but mine was an accident. I used to use an amethyst broadsword as my weapon when I fist started fighting, and could channel my Elements into it to boost its power." At this point he leaned against a nearby wall, lost in the distant memory. "About a year ago I found the ruins of my home world and started searching for other survivors, alongside my sister and best friend. We got shot down by Hunter X as we approached, and shortly after the blade shattered." He suddenly held out his keyblade parallel to the ground, the crystal's glow pulsing faintly as if in resonance to his heartbeat. "I tried to use my Elements to fix it, but Light and Darkness alone weren't enough. In desperation I added Spirit energy, which comes from the heart and soul of a person, and the fragments fused into this, the Shattered Sunset Keyblade."

Kairi avoided the edges in his story as she listened closely and after hearing it all... Tried to make sense of it. He used energy from his heart and soul? And it became a keyblade? Was it really a keyblade? So far all she heard about keyblades were that it chose who used it, which made sense for Riku, Sora, and Mickey. But then thought about herself. She couldn't recall being chosen, she was just given one. Were keyblades just weapons? "Hey, stop it. I can feel you getting a headache." Kairi heard from Namine, which made her give up the mental struggle of comprehension. "Sorry about your world.." Was all she could say before walking up and looking over the edge into the main area of the third district. She saw three shadows walking around in circles before a large body appeared and they all walked into it and they all fell down. Kairi almost had a laughing fit. "Oh come on! Sora told me this is where he fought the second really strong heartless he ever saw." She said, at least knowing this would be a breeze.
