There couldn’t have been a better second match. With the contrast of the two robots presented on the board, Law noticed how evenly the bets would be split—both seemed to have special abilities that didn’t seem to betray any immediate superiority. Heh—that means no one should notice if it gets tipped in my favor. Unlike the last match, which surprised most, this one would feel much more natural. Having placed his bets, Law made his way through the crowd to get a better eye of the ring.
”Alriiiight! You folks ready for the second match of the night?” Nox’s voice emerged over the mic—met with loud cheers and hollers. ”Now that’s what I like to hear!” Smirking a bit, the pirate crossed his arms as he watched Nox on the stage. She seems to be enjoying herself. For someone who had appeared a bit more reserved at first glance, it seemed this was an area where Nox could come out of her shell more. Whether that was due to the atmosphere or the job at hand, he wasn’t sure.
”GIVE IT UP FOR MEGATON AND NANOOOO!” As the two robots entered the stage, Law couldn’t help but grin. He had placed his bet on Megaton, mainly due to its ability: being able to quake the air. Having an affinity with wind magic, Law knew he would be able to manipulate this match with little chance of exposure. Heh—this should be good. As the match began, the pirate would watch with a serious and keen eye—waiting for his opportune moment to tip the battle in his favor.
That is, only if he needed to. For all he knew, this ‘Megaton’ might not even need his help.

As the two bots entered the ring, Nox made sure to scan the crowd to make sure everyone was having a good time. While she did that, both bots had started their match. Megaton had the advantage of speed, being that it was an RC car, and used it to close the distance between the two. With a loud blast from its speaker, Megaton had blown a chunk out of Nano.
With that one move, the crowd was a mix of emotions. Nano looked like it had its fill of the fight, but before anyone could officially call the match Megaton was flipped on its head. Nox watched in awe as the hole that was blown out of Nano had started to close itself. There was a brief pause, it lasted for no more than a heartbeat, before there was an eruption of cheers. A car upside down wasn't in any shape to be used, robot or not.
That was until Megaton had exposed two smaller speakers and used the soundwaves to flip itself back over. This fight was a lot more even than anyone had thought it would be, and the excitement was palpable.

Once the match began, Law’s eyes grew eager as Megaton immediately began to demolish Nano. Ha! That’s what I thought! A wide grin across his face, it was clear the pirate had placed his bet in the right corner. SMASH! Law had little poker face as his jaw hung open, his eyes blinking in surprise. What the—?! How did the small bot flip Megaton?! He hadn’t even caught the movement of the micro-machine. Breathing a sigh of relief as the RC car flipped itself back over, Law decided it was about time to give Megaton the edge.
Waiting for the moment he felt the vibrations in the air from the speakers Megaton used, Law would subtly cast his Aerora spell—mixing with the blast as it would surround the RC car and spread across the arena swiftly, the pirate hoped the spell would blast the tiny robot to pieces. Thankfully, even if it didn’t, the spell would still provide Megaton with the defense boost of the barely visible wind barrier that would be formed around it. Hopefully that would halt Nano's surprisingly powerful attacks for now.
Heh—there we go! Betting was only fun when he was the winner, after all.

The two bots kept fighting a fairly even fight, even with Law's help. It was a constant back and forth of swarms and soundwaves. Every hole Megaton put into Nano, Nano would fill and either flip or derail Megaton in some way. There was no way to tell who was going to win.
That was until the holes that Megaton blasted into Nano started closing slower and slower. It was hard to notice at first but eventually everyone was able to see it. Many assumed that most of the bots that made up Nano were too damaged to keep healing the main body. That all changed when Megaton began to stall out.
"What's this?" Nox looked as surprised as anyone else. She may have been hoping for Nano to win, but she had no idea what was going on. "It looks like Megaton's malfunctioning!" As if on cue, the RC car's engine began to smoke before catching on fire. As it did so, parts of Nano seeped out from under Megaton's body and returned to its rightful place.
"W-well, it seems that Nano had parts of itself stay in Megaton and clog up its works." The woman cleared her throat. "Either way, you're winner for this match iiiss...NAAANOOO!" The crowd was once again a mix of cheers and jeers as money was exchanged and the matches pot was emptied.
"We're gonna take a quick break so that the bots can get the proper care they need. The matches will resume in a half-hour." With that, Nox hopped down from her booth and made her way over to Law. "So, what'd'ya think? Pretty alright, huh?" If she was being honest with herself, the gig was worth watching a controlled fight. It was interesting to learn about the night-life of this world.

As the two bots fought, Law found himself less sure, joining in with the crowds gasps of surprise or yells of frustration at certain times. Eventually, the pirate found himself right near the ring, leaning in intently to make sure he didn’t miss anything. ”Whats this?” Nox’s voice rang out as some in the crowd shouted out in surprise as Megaton stalled. As the robot began to smoke and fire, Law shouted out in disdain as it became apparent that Megaton was finished. ”W-well, it seems that Nano had parts of itself stay in Megaton and clog up its works.” It seemed his spell’s barrier hadn’t worked enough to keep the micro-bots parts out.
Sighing a bit as he rubbed the back of his neck, Law made his way away from the ring—thankful he hadn’t bet any of his own Munny on the fight. Having used what he had lifted from the crowd to place his current bet—the loss wasn’t really a loss at all. ”Ah well, what happens happens.” Noticing Nox coming back over, the pirate smirked a bit at her question. ”So, what’d’ya think?” Nodding with a devious glint in his icy eyes, he glanced over the arena and patrons once more. ”It’s definitely a good place to unwind.” It was also amazing for pickpocketing, but he chose not to share that bit with the girl. With an impish grin, Law recalled her narration over the fights.
”You seem to be enjoying yourself, too~” She had certainly showed some enthusiasm in the booth—both with her words and her music. ”If anything, I’m surprised it ain’t more popular…” There was a sizable crowd, but compared to the size of the city they were in, which he had flown over, it seemed like such a minuscule fraction. It was a great environment for any who wanted to simply be entertained or even risk a gamble of their own. If he were a native on this world, Law was sure he’d find himself here more nights than most.

”You seem to be enjoying yourself, too~" She rubbed the back of her neck in embarrassment. "Yeah, well, I get to play music and not have to hold conversations. It's a pretty tight gig." If she could get more like it, she'd be set for income. Especially since there wasn't a set shift.
”If anything, I’m surprised it ain’t more popular…” Nox laughed a bit at Law's comment. "Well, it's a little less than legal. I did mention that, right?" She shrugged before turning to go back to the booth. "Be sure to make you're bets soon Law." She looked back with a smile and an icy stare. "And whatever you do, don't get caught."

”Well, it’s a little less than legal, I did mention that, right?” Law couldn’t help but chuckle at that, shaking his head a bit as he rested a hand on his hips. He hadn’t expected that to deter from the popularity. Then again, not every world was the same. ”Be sure to make your bets soon Law.” Nodding as Nox began to head to the booth, the pirate paused a bit as he caught her icy gaze. ”And whatever you do, don’t get caught.” An impish grin came across his face as he waved a hand nonchalantly. So, she's been keeping an eye on me while watching the matches, huh? She was more observant than he had expected. Though Nox had been rather lenient with their activities so far, it seemed like she might not agree with all of his hobbies.
Whatever. Not like she’s a snitch. Hell, she had talked his way out of dealing with the law enforcement on this world earlier. Shrugging a bit as he made his way through the crowd, the pirate went to eye the board, wondering what robots would be presented next.

Nox had returned to her booth as the ring had just been cleaned of the debris of the last round. "Alright folks, all bets have been locked in and it's time for the next match!" Having to make a double-take at the roster given to her, she gestured to the ring as the two bots took their places. "Let's give it up for Hermes and Unknown!!"
The former was a simple-looking bot whos build obviously focused on speed. It was reminiscent of a child's toy that would be strapped to a rocket for the sake of imagination. Unkown, on the other hand, was down right disturbing. It was basically a living liquid metal that had no real form, constantly shifting its form. From humanesque to a puddle to a blob, there was no way to get a solid read on it and what it could do.
Nox shook herself out of its almost hypnotizing movements. "Ahem! Well, it looks like the bots are more than ready to fight. Lets get on with the match!" She turned the music back up, being sure to keep an eye on that Unknown bot. Something about it made her uneasy. She decided to try and find Law and see what he thought of the living liquid machine. If something went wrong, it'd be nice for her to not have to deal with it alone.

Having placed his bet, Law couldn’t help but smirk in anticipation as he leaned calmly against the back wall. Since it was later into the match, some individuals had cleared out—most likely those who already lost it all or went past their betting limit. Thankfully the few vacancies allowed for Law to see the arena just fine from where he stood. ”Alright, folks, all bets have been locked in and it’s time for the next match!” Nox’s voice echoed over the sound system, getting a resounding cheer from the audience. As the two bots emerged, Law found himself grimacing at the very robot he had placed his bet on: Unknown. Ew. That things’ gross. Hopefully it was as tough as it was disgusting to look at. Not that Law was too concerned, his treasure haul and pickpocketing skills would keep his pockets lined for quite a while—especially if he walked out victorious with this bet.
Others in the audience seemed either hypnotized or disturbed by the sight as well, though truthfully after some of the grotesque things the pirate had seen during their travels, Law found himself recovering rather quickly. ”Ahem! Well, it looks like the bots are more than ready to fight. Let’s get on with the match!” Raising an eyebrow a bit, the pirate watched Nox from his spot against the wall, noticing how they seemed to have been one of the ones mystified by Unknown. Seeing her vacate the booth shortly after resuming the volume to its usual level, Law’s curiosity peaked as she came towards him. So, she does think something’s wrong. He had seen it from the look on her face and the way she had made the announcement.
Something about a life of piracy made one privy to the insight of others. ”That robot’s got you freaked out, huh?” There was a somewhat mocking and playful tone in Law’s voice as Nox would make her way to him. He glanced at the arena, watching how the Unknown robot and the other one would fight. ”I’m guessin’ it’s not a usual build...?” He had figured as much from the audiences reaction, though it’d be better to affirm his suspicions with his very own local guide. Nox seemed to be ‘in-the-know’ about this event, so the pirate figured if she had seen anything like Unknown in the fights before.

”That robot’s got you freaked out, huh? I’m guessin’ it’s not a usual build...?” Nox shook her head. "Not one that I've seen before." She crossed her arms, almost as if she were trying to comfort herself. "Every bot I've seen has at least some sort of basic shape it sticks to, ya'know?"
She watched as the bots fought each other. Hermes had the speed, but its attacks seemed to do nothing to the living liquid that was Unknown. Much like Nano, any holes in its body closed immediately. Unlike the previous bot, however, this one just stood there like a sentry. Everything about it was just wrong. Most of the crowd was too hypnotized by Unknown to complain. Everything about this fight felt wrong, Nox just couldn't place her finger on exactly what it was.
"Hey, Law, can I trust you to keep an eye on that thing?" If something went wrong it would be nice to have some form of early warning. "If it does anything stranger than what it's doing now lemme know." She went back to her booth, afraid that if she was gone too long someone would notice.

”Not one that I’ve seen before.” No wonder so many people seemed freaked out by it. Each strike against the robot seemed to do nothing, as it merely wobbled as though liquid before shifting shape once again. A confidant smirk played itself across Law’s lips, seemingly having placed his bet on the right bot. ”Hey, Law, can I trust you to keep an eye on that thing?” Raising an eyebrow at Nox, the pirate gave her a bored expression as he tilted his head. ”You can’t trust a pirate to do anything but lie and cheat, lass.” That was rule #1—sky pirates didn’t have any ancient notion of ‘parley’, either. ”If it does anything stranger than what it’s doing now lemme know.” Waving a hand dismissively as Nox made her way back to her booth, Law’s blue eyes pierced Unknown as he watched the fight.
He wasn’t doing it for her—his own Munny was at stake here. If anything weird was going on, Law would be one of the first things to act—mostly in a way that would benefit his own coin purse. That was just the way he was. Years in the sky had caused the man to grow calloused more than cautious. Especially after the most recent developments to his life.

The bots fought and fought, rather Hermes fought while Unknown stood there and took it. The more Nox watched, the worse she felt about what was going on. She didn't find the bot fights as a good use for the robots, but this was different. Almost like she was watching a powder keg that was ready to blow at any minute.
The fight went on until Hermes had gradually increased its speed to the point where it was just a blur to the trained eye. It had gotten so fast that Unknown had no time to close the holes put in it. The more holes that Hermes but in its opponent, the more of the liquid metal went flying. Some of it flew out of the ring as the speeding robot thoroughly blended the other bot to the point where it couldn't keep its shape. Once Unknown officially stopped moving and trying to reform Nox lowered the music. "Alright folks. The, uh, winner of the match is Hermes."
The ring was cleaned and money was exchanged. "Don't forget, we have the losers match! Provided the losing bots are in good enough shape to fight. Now, please enjoy the intermission as we make sure that the winning bots are ready for the next leg of the tournament." With that, Nox put the music back to its normal level and went to find Law. There was to much wrong with that match and she needed to get it off her chest.

Despite his rather lackluster response to Nox’s request, Law watched the battle at hand with a keen eye. Though there had seemed to be some discomfort around Unknown, it was hardly deserved. With a face of disgust, the pirate watched as the grotesque robot was steadily obliterated by Hermes’ ramping speed. Looks like it was just for show. He couldn’t help but show a sour expression as Unknown suffered an anti-climatic defeat. Once more the man had placed his lot on the wrong side. His luck had been less than reliable ever since obtaining his ‘gift’. ”Alright folks. The, uh, winner of the match is Hermes.”
Nox’s own disbelief showed in their voice as the announcement rang out. Noticing a bit of the liquid metal that had splashed from the ring on the ground near where he leaned against the wall, Law raised a brow as he knelt closer. ”Hm…” Perhaps it could sell for a pretty penny, considering the uniqueness of its build? ”There we go~” Mumbling to himself as he scooped the liquid metal into his empty flask (the vessel had been useless up till now, since the curse), the pirate made it appear as though he was simply tying his bootlaces, just in case. Upon standing up, Law noticed Nox heading away from the booth and down towards the crowd level.
Returning to his leaned position against the wall, the pirate crossed his arms with a playful smirk on his face as she approached. ”Pretty boring, wasn’t it?” Shaking his head a bit, Law raised an eyebrow at Nox, the suspicion on her face evident. ”Didn’t expect that, did'ya?”

”Didn’t expect that, did'ya?” Nox shook her head as she walked up to the pirate. "No; and from the sound of it you didn't either." Nox looked back over to the ring. Everything about what just happened felt so wrong. That last match wasn't a match at all. I mean, why would anyone, bot or not, just stand there?" It didn't add up to her.
Shaking it off, she turned back to Law. "Well, enough of that. You enjoying yourself? Staying out of trouble?" She smirked at the last question. If Law was telling the truth about being a pirate, and Nox had no reason to doubt him, then the last thing either of them needed was him getting caught doing something that could break out in a fight. They were there to see the robots fight, not the audience.
The ending of the current song started to play, causing Nox to start rushing back to her booth. "Well, either way, enjoy the rest of the tournament." Getting back to her booth as the song ended, she made the usual adjustments so she could speak. "Alright folks, it's time for the next leg of the tournament. Seeing as Megaton is the only losing bot still capable of fighting, it wins the losers bracket by default, meaning it gets another shot at the grand prize!" She introduced the next two fights and their winners, followed by another intermission for maintenance.
After the intermission, Nox was ready to announce the final match of the night. "Well, ladies and gents, it's been a long night filled with hard fought battles. Unfortunately, only one bot can win tonights tournament." She gestured towards the ring for one last time. "Everyone, please put your hands together for Caestus and Hermes!"

”No; and from the sound of it, you didn’t either.” Nox’s observation caused the playful expression on the pirate’s face to widen. If anything, he had been more than surprised; the match had been beyond anti-climatic. ”Why would anyone, bot or not, just stand there?” It seemed it was the robots tactics that had disturbed her, more than its image. ”Well, enough of that.” Hearing her line of questioning caused Law to give a fake expression of mild offense—bringing a hand to his chest as though struck in the chest. ”Why—who do you take me for?” The wickedness in his smile seemed to be exaggerated with the gold tooth that glinted in the dimness. ”Well, either way, enjoy the rest of the tournament.” Giving her a nod as she departed, Law glanced down towards the pocket of his jacket that held his flask.
It was weird, I'll give her that… Shrugging the thought off quite literally, the pirate decided to continue with his gambling as Nox announced the next match. After finally making some of the munny he had lost back, the pirate couldn’t help but feel mild excitement as the announcement for the Headline Match was made. ”Everyone, please put your hands together for Caestus and Hermes!” As the cloud began to cheer and applaud, Law continued to watch from a moderate distance as he leaned against a pillar. With the last bet on the line, the pirate was hellbent on making sure this match went in his favor.
Even if he hadn’t put too much up for stake—the prize money from a Headline match was too much for the man to resist his scheming ways and cheating behaviors.

With both bots in the ring, prepped and ready to fight, it wasn't long before both were off and the battle began. Both being smaller builds, it could be anyone's match. Hermes bounced from point to point while Caestus did its best to avoid its opponent. With every move the cat-like bot made, Nox caught her breath. This was the only match she had bet on, and she bet on Caestus. She couldn't help it, it was so adorable that she wanted the bot to win.
While everyone was distracted by the match, nobody noticed the container that Unkown was vacuumed into was leaking. The liquid metal that was being housed was leaking onto a small part of Nano.
"Well folks, this could be anybody's match! these to bots seem to be the perfect match for each other." No matter how fast Hermes went Caestus seemed to be able to avoid it, even if only just. It was looking to be a long fight until Hermes started slowing down. To the untrained eye, it would look like the bot was just running out of energy. It wouldn't be until Hermes deliberately missed the cat-bot that people would start questioning what was going on. 'That doesn't seem right.'
Before Nox could make heads or tales of the bot's behavior, it launched itself at the ring's barrier. The rattle was more than enough to tell Nox something was very wrong. Shutting the music off completely, she grabbed the mic. "Ladies and gents, it would seem that Hermes is suffering some kind of malfunction. I would advise everyone to keep a safe distance from the ring while we try to figure out what's wrong."
Nox's warning dod little to quell the rising tension in the room, but the audience followed her directions and gave the ring a wide berth. She left her booth and went up to the person who brought Hermes in to fight. The man was about her age, with long dark hair and matching eyes. "Hey, what's going on with your bot? thing's going haywire!" The man kept pushing a button in his hand. "Yeah, I know. I made a kill-switch in case something like this ever happened, but it's not working." The woman nodded and turned to the machine that was smashing into the sides of the ring. "I'm gonna go in and try and grab it. If we can stop it from moving, we can turn it off. Or reprogram it, at the very least." The man shook his head in disbelief. "Sounds nuts, but be my guest."
Nox walked up and opened the door to the ring, only to have to immediately tackle the man behind her to the ground as Hermes launched itself out of the ring. She ran to the booth and grabbed her mic. "Folks, Hermes is on the loose! Please be careful, and if you see it-" Before she could finish her sentence, the lights cut out. 'This isn't right.' She tapped the mic to make sure it was still working. "Law, get the door. We need to get people out of here." Hermes had only just gotten out of the ring, and as fast as it was there was no way it could've found where the electrical room was. Not that quickly. "Alright people, when you see the doors open, that's your cue to get out of here."
Unknown to anyone, Nano was making its way back to the main room. On top of that, it was carrying Unknown's container. It undid the top and splashed the living metal onto all the bots, regardless of their current condition. one by one, all the damage done to the other bots was undone as the liquid metal pulled the broken parts together, undid any dents in the metals, and brought new life to the otherwise destroyed bots.

Watching the battle of the two robots, Law wore a playful smirk on his face as he leaned in the darkness. One of his gloved hands rested on the flask that held his small ‘prize’—the thought of selling it providing the pirate with plenty of entertainment to go along with the show. ”Well folks, this could be anybody’s match!” While Hermes continued to speed up and ricochet around the arena, Law’s eyes caught onto something. Wait a sec’…? Was that bot not even aiming at Caestus? Somethin’ seems… Just as the man began to think it, the robot launched itself against the arena’s barrier, causing many in the crowd to jump in surprise or shout out.
”Ladies and gents, it would seem that Hermes is suffering from some kind of malfunction.” Grimacing, the pirate pushed himself off of the pillar he had been leaning against. A malfunctioning Hermes meant the match wouldn’t be able to continue—all the high-stakes bets of both sides would be for naught! Rushing towards the arena as many backed up, Law was preparing to cast a spell on the malfunctioning heap when Nox rushed up and opened the door to the ring. ”Oi!” It was too late. Hermes was much too fast. Within the nanosecond the door had unlatched, the robot had barreled its way out of the arena and into the room of spectators.
”Folks, Hermes is on the loose!” There was a loud bark of laughter that rang through the large chamber. Its source was Law, of course. ”Good! Now the real fun begins!” Now things were getting interesting, at least! Though the pirate knew little about robotics, this was much better than it merely crashing against the wall until it destroyed itself. Perhaps it was due to the nature of the mans new existence that made him so carefree about all of this? ”Law, get the door. We need to get people out of here.” Hearing Nox’s demand over the microphone, the pirate sneered a bit as he glanced over to the booth, shaking his head and holding up a hand as he wagged a finger.
”I don’t think so, lass! This's much too excitin’ for me to be a mere escort!” With a twisted smile, the man pulled out the oddly long gun holstered on his thigh. CLICK! FLASH! Flipping it out, the weapon folded and expanded until suddenly the pirate had brandished a dark one-sided blade. ”You can take care o’ the people. I came here to have fun!” He had never fought with robots before. With a hearty laugh hardly suiting the chaotic situation at hand, the pirate launched himself forward—his piercing blue eyes unable able to keep up with Hermes’ movements as the impossibly fast robot vaulted from one corner of the room to the next.
Heh—if you’re too fast to see...~ Law had experienced enemies faster than him before. This would hardly be different. With most of the spectators panicking and rushing away from the arena, the pirate had more than enough room to catch this robot. Holding his sword up towards the ceiling, light crackled and sparked to illuminate the devious look on his face as lightning cascaded and snapped across the entire arena-room! Using his Thundaga spell, the pirate’s aim was to trip Hermes up with an overcharge of electricity in order to stun it—if even just for a moment.
If the opening worked, the pirate would rush headfirst towards the robot—his dark sword flashing with the gold along its edge as he laughed loudly, lunging as a dark magenta light seemed to envelop the weapon. With the use of his Sonic Blade ability, Law would mimic Hermes, ricochetting from one point to the next across the room, the intersection being where the robot stood. All in all, it would be six fast lunge attacks, stabs and slashes powered up and strong as the pirate attempted to destroy the malfunctioning machine.

”I don’t think so, lass! This's much too excitin’ for me to be a mere escort!” The pirate's blatant disregard for other people's well-being shocked Nox, even though Law gave no reason to act in anyone's interest other than his own. 'I told you to do it because you were closer, but fine, be the distraction.' Nox hopped over the mixing table and ran towards the door, making sure to go around Law and his Thundaga.
Getting to the doors, Nox pushed her way through the crowd. Without thinking, the blonde kicked the door full force, causing it to swing open quickly. "Everyone, out! Now!" She didn't need to say anything, the second she was out of the way the former patrons ran off into the night. She made her way back in to see Law dashing around, his Thundaga having stopped Hermes for long enough to be hit and the sparking giving its position away. 'alright, awsome. Law's got that covered. Gotta fix the lights.' She ran off towards where she thought maintenance was, the dim moonlight making it hard to read what maps she found along the way.
After a few wrong turns and dead ends, she found what she was looking for. Feeling around, she found a flashlight. "Better late than never, I guess." Clicking it on, Nox opened the circuit panel and looked for any switches that were turned off. After a few seconds, she clicked on the lights. 'Cool beans. Let's see how Law's doing.'
Running back to the main arena, she would see an incapacitated Hermes. "Well, glad to see it stopped." Nox walked up to Law and the bot. "You know, that was pretty noble of you. Choosing to fight the bot instead of, say, robbing a bunch of people who probably would never notice because of all the confusion. I didn't think you had it in you. I mean, there was even the winnings that you could've pocketed, but nope. You chose to put others first." Nox teased the pirate as she knelt down to examine the wreck. Picking it up and examining it, Nox felt something cool and slick coming from the bot. She looked at the ground where it had been laying. There was a large puddle of what looked to be liquid metal.
She put the bot on the ground as she knelt back down. "Hey, you don't think this is part of that weird bot from earlier, do you?" There was no way of knowing, but something made the speeding bot go nuts, and the silver 'liquid' was leaking out of it. As if waking up from a long nap, the liquid quivered and started to make its way back to Hermes. "GAAHH!" Nox fell back on her rear as the metal seeped back into the broken bot and started to fix the damage Law had done to it. After a momentary shock, Noxk got to her feet and summoned her keyblade. It was a bit of an odd design, with a vinyl record where the 'teeth' would be, and guitar strings along the body. "Oh no you don't. Law, cover your ears."
The next thing anyone knew, Nox punched the strings on her keyblade so hard a purple soundwave came out. Her Distortion caused the liquid metal to seep back out of Hermes and onto the floor. She picked up the bot and placed it on a nearby table before returning to the puddle. "We gotta contain this thing before it wakes up. You got anything we can keep it in?"

After thrashing the stunned robot about, Law scowled a bit as the machine seemed unresponsive—his earlier tactic working a little too well. ”Stupid bucket o’ bolts.” Grumbling a bit, the pirate kicked at the robot with his steeled boot as he flourished his blade to fold and collapse into a gun once more. Holstering the weapon, Law blinked in surprise as the lights came on. ”Oh, looks like she was busy.” Just now noticing the open doors to the venue further down the way, the sight of moonlight in the distance caused him to grimace. Seeing Nox re-enter the building, rushing down the entryway and back into the main area, the pirate gave a half-hearted wave in greeting.
”Well, glad to see it stopped.” Sighing a little bit, Law shook his head, nudging at the robot with his shoes once more. ”Wasn't much to stop...” It seemed the man was somewhat sour about the fight being so short. ”You know, that was pretty noble of you.” Nox’s comment caught the pirate by surprise, making him blink for a moment in confusion before hearing her elaborate. ”Argh!” Staggering visibly, a bead of sweat seemed to appear on Law’s brow. ”What?!” He was such a fool! He could have easily barricaded the door, only allowing those who were willing to pay exit safely while Nox had taken care of Hermes!
”Damn it!” Stomping a foot as he gripped at his dirty blonde hair, the pirate groaned as he kicked himself. Nox’s tease had certainly done the job. The pirate was fuming at himself at this point. Maybe there’s still a chance! Whipping his head around, Law’s blue eyes scanned the floor of the building, wondering what may have been discarded in the chaos. ”Hey, you don’t think this is the part of that weird bot from earlier, do you?” Catching his attention (though his eyes still seemed to be scanning the area every now and then), Nox had already begun to examine the broken pile of machinery. Walking over towards her and the robot, the pirate indeed noticed the odd silver liquid.
It was kinda dark when I grabbed some, though. Had it been this same color? ”GAAHH!” While Nox fell backwards, Law’s hand immediately drew out his gun as the silver liquid metal began to repair the broken bot. ”Tch—seriously?!” He’d have to make sure to ‘collect’ that bit, too. There was still some room in the man’s flask, after all. A sudden burst of light pulled his eye away from the reanimated bot, seeing a bizarre looking instrument appear in Nox’s hands. ”Law, cover your ears.” Though the man had no idea what she was intending to do with an instrument at a time like this—he only had one hand to plug an ear with.
”!!!” Wincing as the partial Distortion hit his exposed ear drum, the stun effect seemed to have an odd half-effect. Not fully stunned but unable to completely control his own body either, Law blinked in a daze after the violent assault on his ears. ”Oi, what the f— was that?!” Scowling as he pounded at the side of his head still ringing, the man was mostly shouting—unable to fully hear or control his own volume. Despite his disorientation, Law did manage to see the liquid metal droop from the robot once more. Struggling to grab the flask in his pocket, the pirate staggered his way towards the robot—all the while giving Nox dirty glances here and there.
”Dammit, woman—playin’ music at a time like this…” Grumbling to himself as he finally reached the bot, the pirate was acting of his own accord—having not been able to make out Nox’s question. Thankfully the pirate’s devious thought-process actually ended up aligning with what the girl needed. He had already seen what had happened when they simply left the liquid to its own devices… Uncapping his flask near the new puddle, Law managed to bottle up more of the bizarre liquid. ”Filled up, now.” Hoisting the bronze flask above his head and swaying it a bit as it reflected from the ceiling lights, the pirate raised a brow. ”...Bizarre…”
He had definitely never seen something quite like this.
Holstering his weapon and pocketing the flask, Law turned around to face Nox as the ringing in his ears finally wore off, the mild sun effect fading. ”Next time, warn me before I got my hands full!” The pirate sighed, shaking his head as he rested a hand on his hip and gave Nox a mild look of annoyance. ”The hell was that, anyway?” He’d never seen someone use an instrument like that before—or experienced an effect from it like that…
He was running into a lot of new things on this world.
A faint grin emerged on his face, despite his annoyance. It was exciting, after all.

”Next time, warn me before I got my hands full!” Nox leaned on her Keyblade. "You're the one who pulled your gun out. Besides, I was kinda focused on what's currently in your flask." The metal was the most important thing on Nox's mind right now.
”The hell was that, anyway?” Nox tilted her head at Law's question. "You mean the sound that stunned that thing? Just something I can do with my Keyblade." As if to accent her point, Nox played a few harmless chords. "Not sure why, but when I first summoned it, it came out looking like this." She held the guitar-shaped keychain that hung from the bottom of the weapon.
She unsummoned her weapon and looked around the area. "Uh, Law? You didn't happen to see the other bots, did you?" As if on cue, there was a loud bang as the building shook. "The hell was that!?" Motioning for Law to follow, she ran towards the sound. After turning a few corners Nox was met with a gaping hole in the wall leading to the city. "Ooohh no. Nonono. This is bad. This is very, VERY bad." She took off running into the city. 'If all the bots from tonight are infected...' She didn't want to think about how bad the damage could be.
The night scene of San Fransokyo was full of bright lights and sounds. It had it's own sense of beauty. Unfortunately, Nox couldn't stop to appreciate her surroundings. If all the bots were going haywire then there would be nothing left to appreciate.
