Many years ago in a distant world there was a war. The king of the planet, who ruled with an iron fist, lost in that war. After he was killed his magic sword was sealed away in a dark place. After that the world was at peace. Until now. The heir of that fallen king is leading an uprising across the world, leaving much of it a waste land. But though out the world there are many dark towers with many secrets within them.
One of those towers holds the key to finding the magic sword. The heir to the throne will stop at nothing to find it. He has imprisoned many people and killed many more. This has lead to many cities being abandon. One of these cities is Ziro city. Far down the path to Ziro city lies an old prison. Within that prison is one person who will meet many others from destroyed home world and find that magic sword.
Zero woke up inside a prison cell. There was one window with bars in it. He had no idea where he was or how he got there. One minute he lies down in a hotel resting from being a hero and the next he's here. He got up from the bed and looked out the window. He was very high up from the ground. Across the way he could see a stone path.
When he looked across the way he could barely see stone towers scattered across the land. He turned around and found writing on the walls. " Zrio city, Library, The Seal" was on the wall. He had no idea what to make of all this. One thing he did know was that he had to get out of this prison and find out just what world he was in.

Cold, dark, and dismal: How fitting for the afterlife. Aiden had occasionally caught whispers of thoughts on the afterlife from his hometown and-on rarer occasions-his "work" home. Some people believed that when they died, their soul (spiritual energy, essence, what-have-you) would return to the planet through the Lifestream, where that energy would then be recycled into new life elsewhere. This pleasant theory, however, did not appear to involve damp floors and iron bars. If this was Purgatory, it was far more pathetic and unoriginal than one would imagine, but as Aiden started to fade out from his surreal daze, he would come closer to the conclusion that not only was this not the afterlife or Lifestream, but that he wasn't dead at all. His fingers twitched between the miniscule crevasses of the stone floor as he came to his senses. His first thought was not on how he came into a prison or what world he might have stumbled upon. Instead, he focused on the fact that he was still alive.
How was he still alive?
The last thing he remembered was jumping off a cliff into a massive chasm: People don't just survive that! You'd have to be a highly extraordinary individual to survive in any kind of condition from such a feat, and although Aiden was a special individual he was certainly not that special-not that he thought anyways. Nonetheless he was able to stand to his feet and walk around his cell, still ignoring his surroundings. His muscles ached fiercely, but he was able to reach behind his back, placing one hand down his shirt to feel around his spine.
"The bullet wounds are...gone? But...how..."
Aiden clearly remembered being shot several times in the back by those he once considered his comrades. Now SOLDIERS could heal quickly, but the gunshot wounds not only healed at an absurd rate, but there were no traces of scar tissue. This wasn't right, even by SOLDIER standards. All of these strange events got Aiden thinking about what happened before he jumped off that cliff. The boy remembered that something weird happened to him, as if some otherworldly, malevolent force was taking over his body shortly after he had been "killed". It was that same dark energy that had nearly consumed Aiden, almost successfully turning him into some blood-crazed monstrosity. It was for that reason that Aiden decided to end his own life...
But now he was here in a prison cell-perfectly healed-and although he felt that the shadowy presence had definitely loosened its grip, the creature within was still there. To explain that feeling was impossible: Aiden simply "knew" it was there inside his being. Perhaps that same creature was the one who saved Aiden? If that was the case, it was by no means a gesture of kindness: more so a simple reflex of self-preservation. That creature desired nothing more than to kill.
However, that creature remained dormant for the time being, and Aiden finally began examining his current situation. He was clearly in some old prison, decorated by rusty iron bars, a singular opening in the wall which lead to the outside though blocked by more bars, and a small cot that extended from the wall besides him (Would have been a much more comfortable sleep if he had been on that instead of the ground). Despite the ridiculous overload of information and unexplainable events, Aiden remained calm in hope of finding answers soon. Had the Darkness transported them directly to this cell, or was he placed elsewhere only to be later relocated by another? How far was he away from Midgar? Corel? Was he even on his world?
...What an absurd question: Where else could he be!? It's not as if other worlds existed that could sustain life, right? And if they did, how would the boy have magically found himself on one of those worlds? Aiden made his way to the barricade of bars where his cell door was located, where he could make out some reading on the wall across from him. Zrio City? Aiden had never heard of such a place before, and he had practically traveled all around his homeworld. Perhaps it was somewhere isolated in the northern hemisphere? No, it was too warm of a climate to be the frigid North. Just where in the world was he? Fighting against all of his usual thoughts of not drawing attention and his social phobias, Aiden called out from his cell in a attempt to get someone's attention.
"H-Hello? Is...Is anyone there? Can anyone hear me?"

Zero didn't have anything to pick the lock with. Maybe if he used his sword he could break out. He didn't belong in this place, he was a full time hero. A prison was a place for villains. His sword appeared in is hand. He was prepared to face any guards that would be in the hallway. He felt the door of bars to see if his sword would be strong enough to cut it.
When he pushed on it the door opened. It was unlocked!. " The door wasn't even locked?" he said to himself. " They they find out i wasn't a villain and left the door unlocked for me?" He slowly came out of the cell into the stone hallway. There were many more cells but yet there were no guards. this was very odd indeed. what kind of prison was this?
Zero went along the hallway checking each cell. All of the doors were unlocked and all of them had the same writing on the wall " Zrio city, Library, The Seal". Just what did that meant? Before he could think about it he heard someone else call out asking if anyone was there. it sounded like someone else ended up in this prison. He made his way to where to voice came from and saw a man inside the cell. He seemed to be wondering where he was just like Zero was.
" The door is unlocked, they all are." Zero said. " I take it you ended up in here too. You seem to be the only one besides me. Do you have any idea what Zrio city, Library, The Seal means?"
One the floor below Zero another person was trying to make out what the writing on the wall meant. It was Kai Shien a friend of Zero. He had woken up not too long ago and also had no idea where he was. He had one thought in his head, breaking out. He was not alone on that floor. Just across the hallway tow more friends of Zero were stuck in the same cell, Riley and Seamus.

Aiden had a similar thought of breaking out with the use of his own sword, though the implications of still having his sword with him provoked curiosity. A true prisoner would have had their weapons confiscated, correct? There was no way Aiden's katana could have been overlooked by his captors, unless they wanted him to break out or he wasn't a captive at all. Then again, who was to say that his blade was even present while he was unconscious: if the creature inside him was capable of teleporting him to another location, maybe it could hide objects in the Darkness as well? This was all wild speculation, which wasn't naturally a trait for Aiden, but with everything that has happened the SOLDIER was willing to humor the idea a few ludicrous hypotheses.
The young man didn't get to humor any ideas for long before a voice jarred him back to reality. He glanced upward to meet the voice, only to find that he actually had to draw his attention downward to find a younger individual with blue hair and green eyes. The boy looked capable from a quick size-up, despite Aiden being over a foot taller. Aiden remained silent for a brief moment as he examined his cell door, eventually reaching over and pushing it open with ease.
"...Oh..."
Well, that was embarrassing. Normally one would check the door instead of instantly assuming it's locked. The revelation put a minor damper on Aiden's spirit and pride, though he had to steel himself for the conversation to come. The boy was shorter and probably younger than Aiden, so that helped slightly, though Aiden would still keep his side of the conversation short: just like he would with anyone else.
"I don't...sorry. I, uh...I don't know where we are..."
The kid appeared to be in the same situation as the SOLDIER, so at least Aiden wasn't alone in that aspect. On the downside...Aiden wasn't alone in that aspect. The young man didn't have any problems with the kid; Aiden had just grown accustomed to his seclusion. One of the perks of being in SOLDIER was that you could work on your own, which was great with Aiden's shy demeanor and social ineptness. However, he might not have that luxury in this particular situation. His best bet of figuring out what was going on most likely included having to work with those around him who were in the same spot of trouble.
"Maybe...we should see if there's anyone else around?"

The man was a whole foot taller and older than Zero was. That didn't really bother him, he was used to it. At least it meant he wasn't all alone in a prison. The man didn't know where they were either. " That makes two of us then." They were at the end of the hallway, but Zero remembered they were on the top floor. That left the possibility of others being on a different floor. They would be on the way down.
" I already checked the rest of this floor. All the other cells were unlocked but empty, and all had the same writing on the walls. Before i got out my cell i saw that we're on the top floor, He said. They may not have known each other but Zero had already entered his hero mode. That meant he would do everything in his power to get everyone out of danger. As long as they were in a place they didn't know there was a chance of danger. he remembered the path he saw on the ground and the towers beyond the mountains.
" I saw a path on the ground," he said. " I think it leads to a town of some sort. Yes we should see if anyone else is here. I'd hate to think there are others who were imprisoned who don't belong here. Zero turned and started going towards the stairs. It lead to the floor Kai and the others were on.
Seamus wanted to know just who put them in prison, and who left the doors to there cell unlocked. "What kind of guard leaves the cells unlocked?" he asked. He had put the words on the wall to memory, he felt they would be important later. His friend Riley had saw a path out the window, maybe that lead to Zrio city. Maybe there they would get answers.
Kai was surprised to see his old friends Riley and Seamus. He was even more surprised that all the cells were unlocked. Just what was going on? One minute he's traveling through a world and the next he wakes up in a cell. At least there was people he knew here. They had all been to other worlds but they never got to one like this. They weren't too far down from the ground, just a few floors up.
Riley didn't know what to think. He Seamus and Kai ended up in the same, unlocked prison. The three of them had looked around the floor they were on. All the cells were unlocked but no one else in them. Just what did the words on all the walls meant? they all heard foot steps come from the stairs leading to the top floor. It was their old friend Zero.
" Zero? You woke up here too?" Seamus asked.
" I take it you want to follow that path out the window too?" Riley asked.
" We should all stick together. There's no telling what lies in this prison, or this world." Kai said.

The younger man had something of a heroic aura that surrounded him, which put Aiden somewhat at ease: At least he hadn't been forced to team up with someone of a darker disposition. The SOLDIER nodded his head quietly in agreement as he followed Zero down the stairs, pondering to himself what the writing on the walls could mean. Perhaps the only way to find answers was making a trek to this Zrio City or the "Library".
As the saying goes: "Get busy livin', or get busy dyin;", and Aiden had already made a fruitless attempt at the latter. Maybe there was still some good that he could do in life, though it meant little to him with his home and family gone. The hero was always suppose to strive for the righteous path, regardless of their personal plights and hardships, but the concept is much harder to follow when you lose literally everything you cherish.
Aiden was spared little time to reflect on his immediate past as the two-man group suddenly gained more members. Two more men and a woman were found on a lower floor of the multi-platformed prison, all of which seemed to know Aiden's recent acquaintance on a more in-depth level. Were they all friends? Well, that was good: maybe they were all people Aiden could rely on, though he didn't make any solid placements of trust on anyone just yet. An odd note Aiden was able to distinguish was that he was definitely the tallest of the group, perhaps even the oldest. The 2nd tallest of the group was still over a half-foot shorter than Aiden: The SOLDIER didn't like that. He felt attention would instantly be drawn to him in any kind of situation. He had no way to blend in with the group. On top of the he was the only one with silver/greyish hair.
Fantastic.
Everyone appeared to be of the same mind when it came to following the path outside of the tower. Aiden had yet to meet everyone on a name basis, but the one with the spiky brown hair said something of particular note: What did he mean by "this world"? That alone put a pit in Aiden's stomach. One could assume that these people were not from his world, or to a greater extent, all of the present company (Aiden included) had indeed found themselves on a strange planet. Life outside his world was far too strange a concept to remain silent on, even for the most shy and timid of individuals.
"This...world? What do you mean? Is this not Gaia?"

Kai looked at the tall man. Surely if Zero came with him he wasn't deamed a villain, yet. Just where was Gaia? It must have been his home world. He had know idea where that was and by the sound of the man's question this wasn't it. " I've never heard of Gaia," he said. " But i take it this isn't Gaia. Does Gaia have prisons like this? No guards, all cells unlocked and the same writing on all the walls?"
Zero didn't like this one bit. On one hand he had found some old friends of his. On the other hand they were still in a world no one seemed to know about. But at least they all had the same mind set. Take the path and see where it leads. At least they wouldn't be in some prison plus there would be more light to see. It was then he remembered Riley was a keyblader. Even if the cells were locked he could have unlocked them. That could come in handy later if they ever got traped some where.
Seamus didn't want to believe this prison had no guards. It was crazy enough the cells were unlocked. There had to be someone else here. " I don't believe that we're the only ones here," he told them. " We should all be on our guards. The cells may be unlocked but There could still be traps in this place. It would explain why the cells are unlocked."
Riley didn't pay too much attention to the group. Instead he was looking out the window again. He could see a blur of a town down the path. That had to be Zrio city it just had to be. If there was a town there had to be people. And where there's people there's answers. " If we go to the city down the path we could get answers. Or the people there could have played a part in putting us in here." He said.

"N-No...No, I guess not..."
Aiden answered Kai with a hint of defeat in his voice. These towers and the town in the distance weren't familiar at all according to what Aiden knew of his world, and he knew quite a bit. The SOLDIER tried to make sense of the whole situation, but unfortunately the only conclusion he could come to was that he had found himself on another world not his own. He would have loved to figure out how that was possible and what exactly happened to him during his last moments on his planet, but his desire for such information wasn't priority. They had to find out why they had all arrived on this world at the time they did, and what could be awaiting them down that stone road.
The young man kept a cautious grip on the scabbard that contained his katana at Seamus's observation. Hopefully there wouldn't be anyone in the prison looking to harm them, but the oddness of the situation was too suspicious to relax. Aiden turned his attention briefly to the opening Riley had previously occupied, looking out at the town in the distance. With no way to predict what course of action should be taken, the city was the best shot of getting any kind of information.
"I guess we have no other choice," Aiden added to Riley's statement.
His timidity kept him near the back of the group, having no desire to lead this expedition. He had no problem letting anyone else with a more charismatic disposition take point, although Aiden would also have little problems with being told what to do. These strangers didn't seemed terribly phased by appearing on another world, so maybe they were use to this sort of thing.
"Oh! I'm, uhh...I'm Aiden, by the way..." The SOLDIER figured everyone should at least know who he is, before he got some sort of nickname dealing with his height or hair.

How could Zero forget his manners? He didn't even tell Aiden his name. Just what kind of hero was he? " I'm Zero," he said. " That's Kai Seamus and Riley. But don't let Riley's apperance fool you, he's not a girl. He was turned into one by a witch." Zero knew how much Riley loved to mess with people about the whole gender swap thing. Zero wanted Aiden to get use to it as fast as possible, the less distractions they had the better.
Riley finally looked back at the group. " Thanks Zero way take the only fun part of this curse away from me." he said. " Now what am i suppose to do for fun?" Before Zero could say anything Riley was gone in a flash. He had ran down to the floor below them. If there was anything intresting he wanted to find it first.
" Damn it Riley can't you at least wait for me?" Seamus asked as he followed him. The floor was very different from the other two. There were skeletons scattered around the floor. Sone different types of armor were on them. Clearly they weren't the only ones who were put in this prison. It still wasn't clear if that was a good or a bad thing. The skeletons had been there for quite some time. " Well i'd say this party is dead eh Riley?"
" Careful with that joke it kills." Riley laughed.
Kai could tell from his voice that Aiden wasn't used to other worlds. " I take it you haven't traveled to other worlds that much?" he asked. " Well don't worry you get used to it after a few times." Kai still remembered when he found out there were other worlds. Granted it was because his world blew up but he still had to get used to it.
" Hey guys we found something!" Seamus yelled from the lower floor.

"He's not a girl..."
Well, Riley would have certainly fooled Aiden had Zero not elaborated on the boy's awkward, unfortunate situation. Luckily the SOLDIER had Zero looking out for him, as he had no basis to understand just how far Riley would take his "jokes." In truth Aiden got along better with girls than he did his own gender, but this would take a little getting use to. However, the situation wasn't odd enough to distract Aiden from any goals the group had set. He did, however, take note of the fact that a witch was mentioned.
"A...A witch?" he stuttered. Aiden was no stranger to magical arts, even though whether or not what [people called "magic" on his world was actually a supernatural occurrence or scientific reaction was debatable. That being said, Aiden had never seen anyone who he would deem a bona-fide "witch". Did she have a long nose with green skin covered with warts and blemishes? Did she have a pointy hat and a cauldron for spells? Did she ride around the sky on a broom?
Yes, these were undoubtedly highly stereotypical descriptions of a witch, but how was Aiden to know better?
Riley and Saemus had wandered to the floor below while the SOLDIER silently pondered these irrelevant, silly questions. He was quickly brought back to the current situation when Zero explained about how he had already been traveling to other worlds. "You've...done this multiple times? Does it...just happen randomly?" Those were simply two questions out of the countless plethora the SOLDIER had in reserve. He would love to get a lot of answers, but the boy's damnable timidity would prevent him from actively seeking out conversation.
It wasn't long before a voice beckoned the remaining group to make their way to the next floor down, where Aiden would follow Zero and Kai to find the skeleton-ridden floor below...

" It doesn't happen randomly," Kai said. " At least it shouldn't. We've been traveling to different worlds since we were kids. Oh the adventures we've had." When they all got down to the skeleton floor Kai was shocked. He had never seen so many in one place before. One thing he did notice was that they all had armor on. Were they all warriors? " Guess we weren't the only ones here after all. Just what happened here?"
Zero didn't ask questions at first. Instead he examined the skeletons. He was checking them for anything remarkable or unusual about them. He found that all the armor they had were tattered, and it wasn't from time. Some of them were even cut in half as well as the weapons they had. " Well whatever happened here it ended bloody." he stated. " Someone or something was able to kill of these people. If you take a closer look all the marks appear to come from the same weapon."
" Well whatever it was it sure made a mess." Seamus said. He couldn't figure it out. This must have happened a long time ago, because there was nothing but skeletons around. But why? These people must have been the guards of this prison. There was no sign of a cell being broken, so what happened to all the prisoners here? Just who unlocked all the cells?
Riley noticed something about a skeleton in a corner. It was holding something in it's fist. Riley went over to it and opened it up. It was a golden square. " it looks like someone wanted to keep this from getting into the wrong hands." Riley looked the thing over. it had the word "key" engraved on the back. " This is a key to something important. I can feel it. We may need this later. For now let's focus on getting out of here alive."
" And we'll have to work together." Zero said. " If Riley is right whatever did this will come back to look for the key. if it can kill this many people none of us can take it alone. We'll have to stay as a group. We'll have to also watch each others back. There are still some floors to go through before we can get out of here.

Aiden listened to Kai intently without directly meeting his eyes. The fact that there was life on other worlds was astounding, especially since the people on his own world had been trying to get to space for some time. Not only was there other lifeforms in the galaxy, these interstellar beings were human-just like him, or at least they appeared to be. What other creatures existed in the universe? Had any of these inter-spacial travelers ever come across his own world? Aiden had so many questions and yet so little time to find answers; for once he was a little disappointed that he could ask the group any more about his situation, but they had more pressing matters at hand.
The SOLDIER followed the rest of the group to the floor below, gazing upon the massive amount of skeletal remains. Aiden was no stranger to death, but this was a unusual amount of bodies to be found in one room. The young man examined several spots of remains while doing nothing to disturb the dead, but he could notice the cuts and gashes that all bared similar characteristics, confirming Zero's diagnosis. There was little else to do in this room until Riley found some manner of object, stating that it was a key of some sort. Perhaps it was a key to somewhere in this cell, or maybe they could find their answers at the Zrio City mentioned on the wall.
At any rate, Aiden silently but noticeable nodded his head at Zero's response: They would have to stick together if they didn't want to get jumped by whatever had killed these men. Fortunately Aiden was a skilled team player, more so than he was a leader. He had no problems following another's lead, so long as they were capable.

A dark shadow came from under one of the skeletons. It moved in a circle around the group until it stopped behind Riley. A tentacle rose up from it and took the key from him. Then is quickly went down the stairs. Kai noticed it leaving from the corner of his eye.
" What the hell is that thing?!" he asked
"Who cares what it is? It took the key after it!" Riley yelled as he went after it.
They all quickly went down the stairs into the last floor. Blood covered the walls and floor. Pillars were lined up on opposite sides of the room. There was little light coming down from holes in the ceiling. Down the way there was a door that led outside. The only sound besides the groups foot steps was the dripping of blood.
" That thing must still be down here," Zero said. " We've got to get that key back. It may unlock something vital to figuring out why we're here."
" Whatever that thing was...it might be the reason for all the skeletons. If that's the case then it may take all of us to beat it."
Kai knew this place wasn't big enough for him to summon his dragon. He didn't want to bait the shadow into going outside. They may lose it and never be able to get that key back. The place was too dark to be able to tell where the shadow was. Kai created an orb of fire in his hand. Along with that he summon his sword glowing with fire.
Kai's fire lit up the place, revealing the shadow in the center of the room. The shadow started bubbling with the key on top of it. It started to take shape. First it formed into Kai, the nit changed into Zero, next came Aiden Seamus and Riley. Then it changed into a armored soldier with spikes coming out of it. The key dissappeared into the heartless.
