”Bean juice?” The pirate scrunched up his nose at such a term, even if it was technically accurate. Something about it just felt…gross. Though, coming from an undead, that probably didn’t say much. That, and she had openly stated they could ‘nab’ something—that was new. Didn’t she disapprove of stealing? Who’m I to question a tailwind? Snickering to himself as they made their way onto The Harpy, Law settled into his position as pilot quickly.
With all of the gummi advancements he’d made since his first departure, it had grown much easier. There were countless automatic parts now, all controlled from the large panel nestled near the steering wheel. If old Bronzearm could see me now! Law wore a foolish grin as the engines on the back of the disguised ship came to life.
He couldn’t help but let out a mild laugh at seeing Nox fighting off sleep so desperately on the stairs to the deck. ”Don’t faint on me now, lass!” With the flip of a few switches and the press of a button, the two were soaring between the tall deserted buildings of the city they were in.
I at least know what a cup o’ joe looks like! He’d been to countless worlds other than his home-world, having countless different beverages before the curse ruined his life. Riding slow and steady, the pirate scouted out buildings for signs resembling that of cups of coffee. There’d be no point in looking for branding. Who knows, maybe they’d also find some clues about where the next robot would be found?
”Aha! Here we are!” Not too far off, there was a nearby cafe that was clearly ravaged and ruined from the nights prior chaos. The sign above the shop was broken and hanging on for dear life, but it was still the shape of a coffee mug all the same! ”Hang tight. You’ll be useless when you’re that sluggish.” Poking fun at her as he passed her on the stairs leading down to the main deck, Law propelled himself down after having set their disguised vessel on neutral.
While Nox was left on the ship, the pirate would rummage brazenly through the disheveled and broken coffee shop, working to find the necessary ingredients. Little did the local above him know, but he actually had a coffee maker within the Captain’s Chambers of his airship. Not that it’d seen much use, these days. Hence why he needed ingredients.

”Don’t faint on me now, lass!” Law's comment mixed with a laugh jolted Nox back awake, at least a little. I'm up, no worries." She gave a thumbs up, though she was still exhausted.
As they slowly flew out of the park Nox did her best to keep her eyes peeled for any sign of a cafe or a coffee shop from where she sat. It was hard between the debris and her own drowsiness, however, Law was able to find one quite easily after a few minutes of flying. Sure enough, there were the remains of a coffee mug logo.
”Hang tight. You’ll be useless when you’re that sluggish.” Nox swatted at the pirate's legs as he passed her on the stairs. "Hush you. I'm not too tired to.. ya~awn. Shut up." she watched as Law went over the side of the ship and went into the shop.
Leaning back, she thought about last night's events over and over until she found her eyes too heavy to keep open. Drifting off, she found herself dreaming of the past. Her life before all this, with her friends and family, then of the promise she made to the only link she had to that life. It was peaceful, in a weird way.

Sighing a bit as he emerged back on the ship deck, Law shook his head at the slumbering Nox. Passed out while sitting on the stairs and leaning against the handrail, it was a surprise the young woman was able to sleep at all. She's got a few o' the basics o' pirating down already~ Chuckling at his own joke, the pilot made his way across deck towards the ornate mahogany door leading to the Captain's Quarters.
Click! Having finagled the set of brass keys from his jacket pocket with his free hand, Law shoved the door open without ceremony using his foot. Toting in the bag of fresh beans he lifted from the small cafe, the pirate was quick to get to work at using the archaic maker he had to roast up some coffee for the weary local...
[BREAK]
"Oi, breaks over, lass!" Barking out as he leaned forward to loom over the girl asleep on the stairs, Law thrust out a steaming fresh cup of coffee, contained in a ridiculously bedazzled golden goblet. "Hold it from the stem, the cup's hot." With the gruff warning, the pirate thrust the cup into the freshly woken Nox's hands.
Despite the heads up, the pilot's hands seemed unscathed, regardless of the goblets heat.
"Well? C'mon, we've got work to do." Waving a hand as he rolled his eyes, Law would brush past the sitting woman as he trudged up the stairs. There hadn't been any commotion around the cafe, meaning they had more sky to trek. It seemed the pirate had little concern for Nox's dreams and sleep and he rudely awoke her so suddenly.
Perhaps the caffeine would act as an equalizer...
"Eyes peeled! We're searching for Robots!" With a lackadaisical and deviant grin exposing the gold teeth in his mouth, Law pressed the appropriate buttons and flipped the correct switches to get The Harpy to roar to life. Spinning the large steering wheel as the airship rose, the pirate set sail to scour the area for any signs of fresh damage or clear evidence of robot rampages...

"Oi, breaks over, lass!" Nox woke with a start, having an ornate goblet thrust into her hands. "Hold it from the stem, the cup's hot." She muttered a groggy "Thanks" completely oblivious to the lack of damage to Law's hand.
She took a sip of the brew and gave a deep sigh of satisfaction. 'Guess I can't be surprised that he nabbed the good stuff.' She sat for a moment, letting the coffee do its job. The sky was nice. It looked like a calm day, a stark contrast to the night the two of them just had.
"Well? C'mon, we've got work to do." She took a deep breath. 'Leave it to Law to ruin a perfectly good moment.' Getting up from the steps, Nox stretched her stiffness away. "Aye, Aye captain!" She gave a mock salute and walked to the front of the ship, keeping an eye out for any current or past damages caused by the robots.
"If memory serves, there's two more that are infected."

Flying his disguised airship through the maze of a city was hardly a challenge for Law, even with the towering buildings that acted as obstacles littered everywhere. The early morning sun shone brightly, though the buildings shadowed most of its warming rays, to the pirates chagrin. Tch--damn curse...
He'd been mindful not to reveal his true form in front of Nox. Without veering them off course too much, Law pulled The Harpy higher, to avoid exposing himself. He wouldn't raise the ship too high, keeping the ground in view.
Soaring over the ruined section of the city from the night before, the pilot decided to follow the wreckage in hopes of finding the remaining robots. Law's piercing blue eyes scanned the skies as well. The last thing he needed was local enforcements trying to come and repair the damage to the city noticing them...
"Anything yet, lass?" Raising his voice to be heard over the steady breeze, the pirate was relying on Nox to survey the ground. Though his radar would alert them of any below, he wasn't exactly sure if robots would be detected...
It had been his first time even seeing one, after all. Let alone preparing for it.

She leaned on the ship's bow, taking in the wind as they flew. That, coupled with the warmth of the morning and the coffee in her hand, made her feel just a little less haggard from last night's events. Nox sipped her coffee as she scanned the area for threats, signs of destruction, or anything generally out of the ordinary.
"Anything yet, lass?" The pirate's voice caused her to turn. "Nothing yet!" She found herself having to yell over the wind just to be heard. She turned back to the city before her and continued to look around, however, she couldn't keep her mind from wandering.
'If Yuto could see me now...I'm sure he'd get a kick out of everything I've been doing.' She smiled to herself, imagining how the messy-haired man would react to hearing about everything she in did the past 24 hours. It was definitely something he would probably do, rush in without thinking and try his best. It was probably his most endearing quality, at least in her opinion.
'On level of stupidy running off, I think he and Law would be tied.' Thinking back to the night's events, so many things had happened. It was hard to parse them at the time, but as she took another sip of coffee she started to sift through the events. She started with the robots and the fighting ring and then moved to the actual fighting of the robots, specifically her fight with megaton and how Law ran off to pilfer and steal.
'GRRRR! That man is infuriating. I swear, the only time he's done ANYTHING is when..he's..run off to steal....huh...' The more she thought about it, the more things didn't seem to add up. The only times they hadn't been at least in viewing distance of each other was when he was off stealing. Not once did he even try to make an excuse of needing the bathroom, and not once had he mentioned being hungry or even thirsty. Sure, there had been a lot of commotion and she had assumed he just wasn't hungry when she offered him lunch. But that was almost 24 hours ago. Surely the man was at least thirsty by now.
She finished her coffee and walked up to where Law was. "Alright guy, spill. What are you?" She placed the goblet on the banister that she then leaned on. "And don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about. Cause things don't add up. I was going over last night in my head, and I realized something. The only times we have been apart was when you decided to steal things. Other than that, we've been basically side by side. No bathroom or food breaks, and I'm pretty sure I'm the only two of us that slept in the past day." It was probably enough, but Nox was on a roll at this point. "You even had to steal coffee grounds even though you have a perfectly good machine. Hell, I'll bet that if I go below deck I'll find the store rooms empty of ANY food or drink."
The blonde had no real basis for that assumption, but she decided that since it was already said, she would stick to it.
"So, level with me. What are you?"

Law groaned a bit as the other blonde confirmed the negative. Rampaging robots wasn’t something the pirate had figured they’d be struggling to find, even in a cramped and busy city like this one. Speaking of which, the man was struggling not to get distracted by all the sights. Sure, Law had seen his fair share of worlds by now in his travels, but none had been quite like this. Despite the destruction taking away from some of the world’s features, the airship pilot had already gotten to see dozens of wondrous things here. Technology was different everywhere he went, but nowhere had figured it out quite like San Fransokyo.
”Alright guy, spill.” While they’d been flying and he’d been absentmindedly spacing out, Nox had made her way back up to the pilot’s deck. There was a sharp look in her gaze as she leaned on the stair banister, though it wasn’t at all misguided. ”And don’t act like you don’t know what I’m talking about.” Truthfully, Law was surprised and a little beside himself. He hadn’t expected this, especially so suddenly. Shit, was it the coffee?! He should have let the girl stay groggy and half asleep…
He’d been careless. She was right, of course, they had spent nearly a full twenty four hours together. It was bound to bring suspicion. Despite the girl’s instinct and acute clues, if there was one thing Law wasn’t prone to doing, it was buckling under pressure. ”Tch, what am I?” Scoffing, the pilot had hardly flinched, keeping his eyes on the tall buildings threatening their route. If there was one thing a pirate was used to doing (other than stealing, of course), it was lying. "I’m a criminal. I told you that already.” Shaking his head a bit, the blonde man rolled his eyes before chuckling and stroking at the scruff on his jaw.
”I tell ya lass, maybe more sleep would do you good…” Sneering a bit so his gold tooth gleamed despite the shadows cast from the scrapers, Law’s blue eyes seemed to dance and jeer along with his tone. ”O’course I ain’t letting you know every time I use the can, I’m a grown man! A captain, no less! Don't get confused, this is parley! Nothing more!” Snorting, the jeering and playful look on the pirate’s face had disappeared. He fixed a stern and serious look at Nox, his hands never leaving the steering wheel as he navigated The Harpy flawlessly through a steadily less wrecked city. ”If you’ve got time for kidish fancies and crack-pot theories, get back to searching for those damn ‘bots!”
He hadn’t meant to start shouting, it had just sort of happened. Scowling, Law had cloistered up, focusing on the route ahead and stewing on the fact that he never should have taken the damned Aztec gold to begin with, back on that world… Beep! Beep! Beep! Just then, the radar on his module boards began to pick something up, causing an alarm to sound off. ”Tch—there they are…” Muttering as he looked ahead, the pirate cursed as he began to move his hands around the steering wheel. In the far distance, barely visible between the tall buildings that formed the city around them, there was a faint smoke trail rising into the sky…

"I’m a criminal. I told you that already.” He wasn't wrong, it was one of the first things he told Nox about himself. Though it had been more than obvious at the time. Law's dodging the question and side comment about sleep just added to her suspicion.
"It may be a truce, but you've done NOTHI-" Her scolding was cut short by the system's alarm. "Hmph, first actually helpful thing from you thus far." She ran to the bow of the ship to get a good look at the destruction.
As they got closer to the smoke, it was evident that the cause was one of the first bots that were introduced the night before. Alt-F4 stood bigger than the rest of the bots they had fought so far, though it was still a bit shorter than Nox. "Found the troublemaker...Land there!" She pointed to a clearing that was close enough to the destruction but open enough for the ship to not add to it.
As the ship landed, Nox turned to Law and hopped up onto the railing. "You may not want to tell me what you actually are, but you'll forgive me if I try to get to know the man I'm working with." With that, she hopped off the ship and took off full sprint towards the bot. 'Not like we don't already have some things in common.'
Arriving on the scene, Alt-F4 was well into its rampage of this part of the city. Not wanting to waste any time, Nox summoned her Keyblade and used her 'Reverb' to get the bot's attention. Having succeded, the bot turned to her and charged, full speed, with the intent to run Nox through.

Saved by the alarm. Law sighed in relief as he made his way towards the destruction happening below. While Nox ran to the bow of the ship, the pirate steered The Harpy between tall buildings that were smoking and blazing with fire from the street-level. Honing in on the location of the activity with his radar, Law soon had them above a familiar robot wreaking havoc on the city. It was one of the first they’d seen during the tournament the night before, the Alt-F4, one of the larger ones. “Found the troublemaker…land there!”
Law shook his head. She thinks she can just boss me around now? Oh well. Readying to anchor, the pirate was surprised as Nox tossed parting words his way—having thought the prior conversation had been properly avoided. “You’ll forgive me if I try to get to know the man I’m working with.” Why was she acting like that was the only thing she could learn about?! Having lowered the airship enough to where the young woman could leap off the railing without injury, Law simply stood at the steering wheel with a scowl as she ran off towards the bot.
”Tch—brat.” What did she know, anyway? With The Harpy still in its ‘advertising blimp’ disguise to blend in with the world around it, there was no way it was going to fit in the clearing fully. Because of this, Law settled for flipping on it’s auto-pilot feature, allowing it to hover and float around the two-story height before following Nox over the railing. She’s lucky I need to scour all of these damned worlds for those coins… He had no idea which worlds housed the cursed Aztec coins he’d spent, back then. Traveling through the Gummiverse, the pirate had befallen the curse due to his own greed—but now it was his label as a ‘criminal’ that he used to hide his true nature.
What he was really doing while ‘robbing’ and ‘looting’ was hunting, searching for the missing coins that would eventually restore his humanity. Casting his Aerora spell before he hit the ground to cushion his fall, the pirate tumbled to the ruined street just in time to see Alt-F4 charging at Nox full-throttle! ”Oi, pay attention!” Had she really just leapt in without a plan?! Shouting out as he ran forward, Law unsheathed his Gunblade and flipped it into its sword form. Using his Vortex ability, the pirate spun with incredible speed as though a tornado, closing the distance and flying past Nox as he slashed and CLANGED! against the coming robot full force!
Matching the charge, Law’s powerful spinning attack would meet the bot head-on, though where he focused the attack was what mattered. Noticing vulnerabilities between connecting joints, the pirate had angled his black and gold blade to slice at the tubes and wires joining the robot’s arm and shoulder!
Hopefully his attack would defend Nox while also disposing one of the robot’s attacking limbs...

”Oi, pay attention!” Law's shouting caused Nox to take her attention off the bot as it was mid-charge. If it wasn't for the pirate's attack, she would've been sent flying at best.
"I would've been fine if you hadn't-" She stopped mid-sentence, noting that the robots arm was now dangling by a single tube. "Nevermind. You're just lucky that stunt worked out."
Though her game of chicken went awry, it was oddly nice to see Law actually attempt to be helpful.
"I have an idea. Cover your ears until I give the signal, then go for the limbs again. Don't worry, you'll know when."
Without another word she ran off around the robot, dodging its swings as best she could, until she was directly across from Law.
"NOW!" Nox shouted as she punched the strings of her Keyblade, causing the purple shockwave of her 'Distortion'.
The bot, unable to protect itself from the sound effectively, fell to its knees. Nox took the opportunity to follow her own plan and went for one of the bot's legs. It took a few swings, but she was able to find a small amount of progress as she had cut through one of the tubes connecting the left leg to the rest of the body.

Law flashed his gold tooth in a devilish grin as the robotic limb grew slack and began to dangle loosely from sliced connectors after his attack. “You’re just lucky that stunt worked out.” His triumph was short-lived. Nox’s jab caused the pirate to scowl as he leapt backwards, creating some distance as the Alt-F4 swiped out with its good arm.
”Luck has nothing to do with it!” Before he could continue an assault, the young woman was hatching a plan—or at least, alluding to one that she felt Law didn’t need to wholly be made privy to. ”Tch—cover my ears?” Didn’t she see the big robot flailing around? What did she think this was?! Rolling his eyes a bit as he grumbled half-hearted complaints, the pilot covered his ears while keeping a firm grip on his weapon, causing one to be plugged better than the other.
“NOW!” Despite being behind the Alt-F4, Law could both feel and see the purple shockwave that burst forth from Nox’s Keyblade. For a moment, the man could feel his teeth rattle in his head—if he still had real flesh on his bones, it would have prickled and bumped. Sheesh…what a ridiculous power. Even with his plugged ears, the pirate grimaced at the sound-wave. For a fraction of a second, he wondered what kind of effect it would have on the Undead…
Seeing Nox flash forward with her bizarre weapon, he quickly saw the unspoken part of her plan and followed suit. Dashing forward as he unplugged his ears, Law’s Gunblade glinted as the dark blade lashed out and struck at the other leg exposed by the robot’s stumble. Aiming for the connecting joints that exposed more wires and tubes, the pirate hoped he’d be successful in disjointing the limb and making the enemy immobile. Seeing the snapping electricity and the metal exterior of the thing, he’d figured his spells and bullets would be useless.
It looked like a simple hack and slash was in order!
"Ha ha! Not a bad idea at all~!" Law seemed in high spirits, a malicious glint in his eyes. This was exactly the type of thing he needed to take his mind off of all the brewing worries that had been bubbling up!
