Ariel had just barely gotten back to her wobbly feet, alone this time, when barking caught her attention. How she recognized that bark. It had to be that furry shaggy thing that had licked her on the face the night she peered over the ship's side into its' deck. The thing called Max. She smiled upon seeing the dog come for them and licking Yuki like crazy.
It was pretty funny and the animal was so fun loving. However, wherever the dog, Max was there was him. Prince Eric's voice was heard soon afterwards. Of course, Ariel had seen Prince Eric a number of times before but mostly as a mermaid and well hidden behind a rock. She had actually saved his life not too long ago.
Her blue eyes widened as Yuki started to take off after the sound of Prince Eric's voice. A bit of Ariel was reluctant to go but she still turned and made for the nearest hiding spot. Max was going to retrieve his human companion. Staggering because she wasn't used to her legs fully, Ariel just managed to round the corner of the rock where Yuki hid before the dog's barking could be heard much louder again. Hopefully, the dog wouldn't find them here.

Yukiko looekd as Ariel came to hide behind the rock with her. She managed to poke her head a tiny bit enough so she could see but no one else could see her. Just then, a man with short black hair emmerged from around the corner. The dog jumped up at him, but the man stood still, petting the dog's scruffy head. He just laughed as he petted the dog while cracking a smile.
Yukiko couldn't help but tapp into Ariel's mind, and she said,"Oh, you like him, do you?". She laughed a bit to herself and looked back down at Ariel. She then said,"So, his name's Eric... and a prince, eh? You pick em well... and the fur ball must be Max". She wipped her face a bit, litres of dog slobber still on her face from the previous face-licking she had just recieved.
"Well, if you like him, why are you hiding here with me?". Without even thinking, she raised her leg a bit and sent a swift kick in Ariel's direction, hoping to knock Ariel into the prince's view. She then looekd over towards her and mouthed the words,"Good luck!" as not to be heard by the prince.

Ariel stayed behind Yuki behind the rock. Finding it extremely hard not to try and have a peep. She was just about to venture towards the other available side to peer out when Yuki whispered to her. Apparently, Yuki had read her mind again. Ariel gaped at her a little almost having forgotten that she was able to read minds.
Flaring up when Yuki mentioned Ariel's fancying Prince Eric. Almost as red as her hair, Ariel nodded. She silently chuckled when Yuki wiped her face free of dog slobber. Max really got her good. That dog was always a joy to bump into. A very lucky thing the dog couldn't speak. Yuki and Ariel might've been discovered.
Before Ariel even caught what Yuki said, she found herself kicked out into the open. Both of Ariel's blue eyes were wide with shock and surprise before she glanced towards Yuki. Bewildered by all of this. Upon sight, Max began barking up a storm the instant he saw Ariel fall into view. She just managed to give Yuki a taken aback look when Yuki mouthed 'Good luck' to her just as the dog's barking seemed to be the only noise aside from the sea.
Still a bit wobbly, Ariel got to her feet again and brushed herself off a bit. Not looking towards Max or Prince Eric just yet. Trying to collect herself a bit of courage before going into the erm...fray? She then set her hands behind her back as she shyly looked up at Prince Eric and Max. Normally, Ariel wasn't this shy. She was always the social butterfly. Around Prince Eric, however, her whole attitude changed. Maybe because she was uncertain? Or maybe because she was new to this feeling?

Yukiko laughed a bit at Ariel's suprised expression after she had kicked her out into the open. She then looked at her as she managed to regain her balance and stand up straight, but looked over at the two of them incredibly shyly. Yukiko couldn't do much but slap a palm to her forehead and say to herself,"Oy vey... I'm gonna have to do the talking for her, aren't I?".
Just then, Yukiko walked out from behind the rock, standing next to Ariel. She waved towards the prince and the dog, saying,"Hi there!". She then whispered to Ariel, saying,"What, clamming up now? Come on, you've been waiting for this chance, right? Get some backbone!". She then noticed Eric walking over to them, and Yukiko smiled. Before letting him get a word in, she said,"Hi, I'm Yukiko. But um, don't mind me!".
With a hand from behind, Yukiko pushed Ariel foward a bit, but made sure she wouldn't fall over. Yukiko smiled and said,"This, is Ariel". She then looked over at Max who was running around like mad. He then stopped in front of Yuki, looking up at her, tongue hanging out of his mouth. Yukiko smield, looking down at the dog and said,"Don't even think about it, bub".

If Ariel's surprise from having been kicked out into the open were bad enough, just imagine her surprise when Yukiko came out into the open as well. Not sure what Yuki was up to, Ariel looked over at her curiously. Her eyes widened again as she heard Yuki call attention towards them even more.
Her jaw dropped a little as she heard Yuki's words. She closed her mouth when she saw that Prince Eric and Max were approaching them. Having half a mind to run for it if she could. Her legs just wouldn't obey her so she remained where she was. Sort of trying to shrink behind Yuki. When she was about to conceal herself again, Yuki had pushed her in front of them.
This time, not so roughly as to knock her down and had introduced Ariel to Prince Eric and Max. Having been introduced, thanks to Yukiko, Ariel smiled. It was a bit of a nervous smile but a pretty one none the less. "...Hello..." she managed to utter before giving a slight wave. Trying hard not to blush brighter than the setting sun.

Yukiko deeply sighed, still seeing nothing but the shy side of Ariel. She then walked a bit closer and said,"Sorry, I guess she's a bit shy today...". Eric seemed to be examining her a bit thoroughly for a short time. He then said,"You... you look really familiar...". He then searched Ariel's eyes and said,"Um, have we met before? I'm sure I've met you".
Yukiko laughed a bit to herself but too a step back, hoping to give them a bit more privacy. She then sent Ariel a telepathic message, saying,"Come on, talk to the man, you're blowing it! You like him, right?". She made sure to still stay back, but remained visible in case Ariel couldn't handle herself again.

(OOC: No sweat!)
Ariel could almost feel Prince Eric's eyes upon her. It wasn't exactly comfortable to have that feeling right now. Still, she did smile sweetly. 'What is wrong with me?' she thought. She was wasting the time she was able to spend on land by being shy. Her face couldn't help but become a slight pinkish color as she gazed back at him.
A look of recognition was upon his face when he asked her if he'd met her once before. The truth was, yes he had met her once before. If it hadn't been for Ariel, he would've drowned. It was she, as a mermaid then, that had saved him. Almost as if reading her mind, he said he was now sure he had seen her once before.
Not sure what to tell him, she drew a mental blank. It took only Yuki's telepathic voice to startle her back to the present. Trying hard to keep better control of herself, Ariel slowly nodded. Surprised at her own shyness.
"Y-yes, we've met before..." she trailed off. Her voice had sounded a bit shaky but now that she had spoken to him, it didn't feel so awkward. There was one thing that was bothering her. What was she going to say to him when he asked where from? She couldn't just up and tell him that she was a mermaid. He'd probably think she were crazy. Seeing as she had legs and not her fins anymore. For now, that is.
If it weren't for Yukiko, Ariel might not have been able to get this far. Fo that, Ariel owed her one.

Yukiko was a bit worried when Ariel answered that she had met him before. She also tapped into her mind to find out where. She knew what was gonna happen when Eric asked her. Sure enough, he said,"I thought so. From where exactly?". Yukiko herself was kinda freaking out herself, knowing neither her or Ariel would know how to reply.
Yukiko then sent a message to Ariel, sayign,"Um, say something like you saw him wash up on shore one day, and... you stopped to make sure he was alive and okay. Technicly it's not lying when you think about it!". she then stood there, the suspense killing her. Her nerves were standing on a tightrope right about now, wondering hat Ariel would say in reply.

(OOC: I G2G to bed! So, I'm out after this reply for the night.)
Ariel was almost drained of color in the face when Prince Eric questioned her about where he'd seen her exactly. She was lost for words as she side glanced towards Yukiko. Yuki seemed just as stressed out by this as she was. Not knowing where Ariel had met Prince Eric before to begin with.
Should Ariel tell him about being a mermaid? She didn't really like lying. She never truthfully lied to anyone. At least, not that she knew of. The truth always somehow managed to slip out no matter what she did. Ariel had bitten her lip a little as she tried to quickly come up with an answer. She wanted to tell him but then again, she didn't.
One reason being that he may find her as a nutcase. Ariel wasn't a nutcase. She didn't want to make a bad impression and foil her one chance. Mentioning she was a mermaid would definitely be a major blow out. It was then that she heard Yuki say something to her telepathically. Telling her to say something like she found him on the beach washed up.
Well, that wasn't exactly the entire truth but it seemed more believable. Maybe she could tweak it a tiny bit? Then again, it'd sound pretty boastful if she just came out with 'Oh, I saved you from drowning!' No matter what Ariel thought to say, Yuki's proved to be the better choice.
Looking Prince Eric in the eyes, she finally said "...I found you...washed up on the beach. I came over to see if you were alright." She didn't say exactly why, after he had seen her, she ran. Ariel knew the major reason was because she were a mermaid and it was strictly forbidden by her father that merpeople weren't to ever make contact with humans.
