As Yuto wound his way through the maze of bookcases, Henoke walked further into the darkness. At first it had looked almost like a wall, though he realized it was just that dark. The hallway continued, though it disappeared and was devoured by the darkness. The air in the room was colder here, as Henoke could see his breath as it puffed out in small wisps. "Hey, Henoke. Do me a favor and stand behind me, yeah?" Yuto's voice cut through the vast nothingness that loomed before the two. "It's nothing personal, I just need you to cover me if things go sideways, okay?" Yuto seemed tense as he walked in front of the teen.
The pressure from the darkness was intense, even with the Keyblade in his hand. "It looks like it keeps going, but is almost impossible to see through." He looked down at the hefty weapon in his right hand, holding it out in front of him as he closed his eyes and focused his heart. The long steel grey blade began to glow and shimmer with a golden light, allowing the two to see at least what was around them within a six foot diameter. The light didn't ward off the immense energy that lurked, but it did allow the two to see.
Standing on Yuto's right, Henoke put a hand on his comrades shoulder with a reassuring grin. "I'll stay at your side. I'm not afraid of the dark, you know?" He laughed as he hoisted the bright weapon into the air, pointing it ahead of them as it radiated more light. It seemed that the hallway continued on through the darkness, though the castle around it had changed and altered. There were large tendrils of darkness that snaked across the white and gold library walls, the hallway breaking apart into small floating sections as it disintegrated into darkness.
At the very end of the hallway, there was an eery glowing purple orb that at first seemed suspended in the air. For a moment, Henoke wasn't sure what he was looking at. "It...looks like an entrance?" This must have been part of the world tainted by the darkness, forgotten with time and festered in rot. The wielder remembered something Chirithy had warned him about, how sometimes the way to worlds 'Hearts' were dangerous, especially if they were closer to darkness. The key bearer felt no fear as he looked at the pool of darkness that the broken hallway led to, sure that him and his friend could stop whatever lurked in the depth of this world.
Looking at Yuto over his shoulder, Henoke could still see his breath as he spoke. "I think whatever's in there will be tough. You ready?"

Yuto looked down as the teen lit his Keyblade for them to see. "I'll stay at your side. I'm not afraid of the dark, you know?" The man returned Henoke's smile. 'It's not the darkness I'm worried about. It's what lives in it that scares me." He walked with the teen a short distance before noticing the effects of darkness on the world. Dark tendrils and broken sections of hallway leading to a glowing purple orb. The pressure got heavier the closer they got.
"It...looks like an entrance?" Yuto looked at Henoke and at the orb. "I would guess." In his mind there was a fifty-fifty shot that they would end up in the Realm of Darkness. The warped reality didn't help to sway his thoughts to the "not" side of those odds. If anything, it worried him more. If the world was being taken by the darkness, then this was only the beginning of the weirdness that they were going to see.
"I think whatever's in there will be tough. You ready?" He stood next to Henoke and put a hand on the teen's shoulder. "Yeah. Yeah, I'm ready." He took a deep breath and approached the orb. Sticking a hand out to touch it, he could feel the pressure was at it's heaviest. He stuck his hand into the orb and watched it disappear. He pulled his hand out of the orb and turned to Henoke. "If I don't show up behind you by the count of ten, feel free to come after me." Yuto then hopped backwards into the orb.
When he came out of the other side, he saw the portal in front of him. 'No time to take in the view.' He focused his heart on where Henoke was standing and waved his hand, opening a dark corridor. Now there was a path from where he was to the library that was both reliable and could double as an escape route if they needed it. He walked through and emerged on the other side, putting a hand on the teen's shoulder. "Boo."

Henoke felt the hand on his shoulder as Yuto's voice rang out through the heavy silence. "Yeah. Yeah, I'm ready." The key bearer was thankful for the presence of his new friend, as alone the presence here was disturbing, to say the least. It was thick, heavy, weighing down on them from all sides and causing their breath to go cold as it left their lips. The teen was also thankful for the radiant weapon in his hand, which he knew was helping him in taking the brunt of the burden. "If I don't show up behind you by the count of ten, feel free to come after me." Yuto suddenly hopped into the orb, facing Henoke as he did so, disappearing completely. The key bearer shouted out in surprise, taking a step forward and reaching out to his missing friend with his free hand.
For a moment all was still, Henoke held his breath. Whoosh. There was a slight shift in the air behind him as suddenly a hand was on his shoulder again, causing the teen to go stiff as he threw up his hands in silence, the Keyblade in his hand still bright. "Boo." Luckily, since Yuto's voice was familiar, Henoke hadn't completely lost his composure, but as he recovered he certainly felt his heart racing. Bursting out in laughter, the Keyblade wielder turned and lightly punched his friends arm. "Bastard! You scared the hell outta me!" A large grin was plastered on his face as he laughed.
It was comforting, to not be alone when facing the dark. Nodding towards his comrade, Henoke hoisted his Keyblade in front of him, walking into the portal of darkness as he held his breath.
Everything seemed to shift around Henoke suddenly, he had never traveled through darkness before. His gold brown eyes fell on his surroundings, the light from his Keyblade flickering out. He didn't need it anymore. Everything was different than before. The area he was in had a dark sky, one that was pitch black and seemed to never end. He stood on what seemed almost like sand, though it was dark purple in color. The ground ended ahead of him, disintegrating as it faded into a vast empty purple space, which swirled in the nothingness. Surprisingly, the area was well lit, due to the swirling space that gaped before him. For a moment, Henoke's hopes fell, wondering what to do from this point. Looking ahead of him, however, he saw remnants of the library they were in.
The occasional bookshelf, mostly in pieces or rubble with the books in ash, sat out on the vast purple space, though there seemed to be no ground. There were other patches of purple sanded ground, seeming to simply be floating in space. Turning to look over his shoulder, making sure Yuto had followed him closely, Henoke spoke aloud, his voice echoing through the vast emptiness. "I wonder if we can cross." In the distance, across the space was another mound of purple sand, though on it stood a large door, similar to the ones they had seen many times in the castle. "I don't think we've left the world... I think this is the state part of it is in..."
Looking around, Henoke reached the edge of the platform him and his partner stood on, an idea suddenly coming to him. Hoisting up the large steel grey Keyblade, the wielder hurled his weapon out into the space, aiming it down. The heaving metal key smashed against an unseen ground with a resounding crash as it skidded across the vast purple space, towards one of the many ruined bookcases. Holding out his hand, Henoke summoned the weapon back to him in a ray of light. Grinning, he turned to Yuto.
"Seems we can cross." He kept his guard up, as the pressure of darkness here was astounding. He was sure that though this area was empty now, it wouldn't stay that way forever. "Be ready."

He couldn't help but laugh. He didn't mean to scare the teen, but it was funny. "Would you rather a heartless?" He rubbed his arm where Henoke punched him. Yuto had to admit, a friend in the darkness made it easier to face. He followed his friend into the portal. Darkness, while still new to him, was not unfamiliar. Yet, when he stepped out of the other side, he noticed a distinct difference in his use of it, and what they were currently feeling. This was a pressure that he knew all too well.
The purple sand, the endless void that was the sky, the floating parts of the world they were just in. "I don't think we've left the world... I think this is the state part of it is in..." He was close. the Realm of Darkness was a complex one. the laws of reality that most grew accustomed to didn't always take. a gap in space could easily fill, and a door that was only a few feet away could shift to being yards, miles even. The man took a deep breath. "You're not wrong. This part of the world fell completely to darkness. So, it's not 'here' in a normal sense of the world." It was hard to understand and even harder to explain. "Basically, welcome to our little slice of the Realm of Darkness, or at least a place that leads to it. He scooped up some sand and tossed it to the side as he watched the teen test to see if we can cross the gap. "Seems we can cross. Be ready." Not exactly a false statement, but the man still didn't trust it. He also didn't trust that they would be alone for very long.
"Alright, but stay behind me." Yuto knew that whatever this place threw at him he could take. He wasn't so sure about Henoke. Sure he had a Keyblade, but that only goes so far. He started out in the direction of where his friend threw their weapon, making sure to take some of the sand to make a trail back the way they came.

Yuto explained how the 'slice of darkness' worked, causing Henoke to nod and grit his teeth. His master and Chirithy always warned him of this. Gripping the Keyblade in front of him tightly with both hands, the wielder allowed Yuto to lead the way. The man with the bat seemed to know more about the darkness than Henoke did, making sense given the fact he relied on some of its powers. As the two stepped off of the small shore they had been on, the dark pressure only grew more immense. Stepping out onto the vast purple emptiness that awaited, Henoke closed his eyes firmly until he felt his foot hit solid ground. Looking down at his red shoes, the teen gave out a shout of surprise as he looked down. He was standing on what had looked like a gap. It seemed there was a floor over the large vastness, just invisible.
Walking out from the shore, there was a surge of motion as the creatures sensed new hearts. Coming forth from the shadows were countless Heartless, powerful and intimidating with the amount of surging darkness that pressed down on them. Henoke shouted a warning to Yuto as the two were suddenly surrounded. "Damn! Let's try and make it to the door!" The looming brown door on the opposite side of the area sat on another shore similar to the one the two had emerged on. It was decently far, given the amount of space gaped before them, but Henoke believed the two could manage.
As the Heartless surged forward, Henoke turned to have his back against Yuto's, grinning a bit as he talked over his shoulder. "I got'cher back, pal!" The wielder lashed out with his hefty steel grey weapon, keeping the encroaching Heartless at bay. There was an impressive amount, most of them looking strong. Some the key bearer had never seen before, such as the odd orb-like monster with four long wings, as well as tall black muscular swordsmen who seemed to float through the air. The Invisible's threw their jagged blades into the ground, disappearing from sight altogether. The Angel Star's flew through the air towards the two, their bell shaped glass bodies reflecting the purple light from the gap beneath them.
There were other powerful ones as well, such as large Darkballs that emerged beneath the vast black sky, as well as the Shadows that skulked from the floor. Henoke gritted his teeth with a grimace as he readied his Keyblade, keeping his feet planted firmly as he stood his ground behind Yuto, watching his ally's back. To start the fight, an Angel Star launched a massive orb of light energy towards the teen, who quickly slapped it back towards the Heartless with his large Keyblade. Turning to Yuto, he shouted over his shoulder: "Careful, these all seem like pretty powerful Heartless!" Other than the Shadows and Darkballs, he had never seen the Angel Stars or Invisible's.
Henoke stood with his Keyblade in front of him, having successfully deflected the orb attack from the winged creature. It had dodged the large magic orb that Henoke had hit back at it, but the key bearer was thankful to just not be hurt. There were small black flames that began to form in a circle around the two, multiple rings of fire being able to be seen. Henoke looked around in surprise. "Eh?! What's this?!" He hoisted up his Keyblade, ready to attack or block at a moment's notice.
It seemed the battle had begun.

As soon as they stepped off the shore, Yuto felt the air shift. 'This soon? Really?' He was expecting this, considering where they were. He just wasn't expecting it this soon. The realm liked to ambush people, or at least him. He groaned in annoyance at what was to come. The Heartless had them surrounded in an instant. The man did a mental roll call'Shadows, Darkballs, Invisibles, and...winged orbs? Those are new.". In the time he spent in here, he never once encountered the Angel Stars. He knew that if they were showing up alongside these others, then they were worse than they looked.
He felt Henoke press his back to the man. "I got'cher back, pal!" Yuto heard the teen say, followed almost immediately by the sound of something impacting the teen's weapon. "Careful, these all seem like pretty powerful Heartless!" He wasn't wrong. Outside of the Shadows, these Heartless were enough of a pain on their own. Together though, that would be a hard fight. "Don't worry about me. Focus on keeping yourself safe." They didn't need to lose one another here, but it would be worse if one of them fell. Especially if they went down trying to save the other.
As he said that, two of the Shadows leaped at him. Timing his strike, he hit both of them at the same time, disintegrating one and sending the other into a Darkball. 'Homerun.' He smirked at his own joke.
"Eh?! What's this?!" The man looked down to see multiple rings of small black flames surround them. "Move!" He shouted, grabbing Henoke and rolling out of the way just before the rings closed. "You see that again, dodge." The man stood and looked towards the door. It was closer now, but not by much. If he could buy some time, maybe he could open a |Dark Corridor| and have the two of them make a quick escape. However, he couldn't focus on that for long, a couple of the winged orbs had launched mini tornados at him. Rolling out of the way, he realized that those would be the biggest problem. "Try to take out the ones with the wings first."

Suddenly the area was spinning as Henoke was pulled out of the way of the small black flames that quickly closed together. The Invisible Heartless emerged after the rings joined, rising into the air with their hefty weapons menacingly. "You see that again, dodge." It seemed Yuto had faced these types of heartless before. Suddenly there were small tornados rushing towards the two, causing them to separate as they rolled out of the way in time. "Try to take out the ones with the wings first." It was easier said than done. The Angel Stars seemed to be smart as well as powerful, hanging back to deliver ranged attacks as they flew through the air, far from the key bearers reach.
Whoosh! There was the sound of rushing wind coming from Henoke's right, causing the teen to turn just in time to see a giant Darkballs hurling towards the air directly at him. He rose his Keyblade just in time to block most of the hit, though the force still took him by surprise as he was thrown from his feet onto his side on the ground. Rolling back onto his feet quickly, Henoke backpedaled to avoid the lunge attacks from a nearby Invisible. These one's are strong, too! The sword it swung around was deadly and sharp, the large Heartless being swift and strong and it pushed through the air. Many of the Shadows were attacking whenever he managed to dodge the heavier blows from the stronger Heartless, the numbers were annoying to deal with.
The 'Steel Heart' was hoisted into the air above his head as Henoke shouted out into the sky. "Thundara!!" Clouds formed above the area, blocking them from the vast dark sky above. Lightning bolts plummeted down to the ground, attacking the surrounding enemies that threatened Henoke and Yuto. Some Shadows managed to escape the barrage, sinking into the floor, others vanishing from existence in a vapor of darkness as their hearts were sent to the sky. All of the Darkballs were stunned by the powerful electricity. Though the Invisible's seemed to flinch at the magic, which seemed to have hurt them moderately, none vanished. What Henoke had hoped for came true, however, as he saw all of the odd winged orb creatures stall in the air.
With his main targets shocked for the moment, the key bearer grinned as he rolled past one of the nearby Invisible's, leaping over a stunned Darkball while taking aim at one of the Angel Stars nearby. "Firaga!" A strong heat surged forth at the tip of his hefty weapon, brilliant orange flames emerging as a large fireball burst forward. Flying through the air at an impressive speed, the large flame curved through the air and landed a direct hit on one of the stunned Heartless. The Angel Star burst from existence in wisps of darkness as it vanished from sight, a single heart releasing into the air. Henoke grinned at his spells results, though the victory was short-lived. Many dark flames had emerged around the teen, who had stood still to take aim at the airborne Heartless.
Rolling just in the knick of time, the flames surrounding Henoke closed on thin air as the Keyblade wielder leaped high above the Heartless' attack, landing further away from his enemies and closer to Yuto. He wanted to stay close in case one of them needed the coverage. Looking over at the bat wielder, he shouted out through the vast emptiness. "How you hanging in there, Yuto?!" The large steel grey Keyblade was hoisted in front of him, gripped tightly in both hands. He was ready.

Having just rolled out of the way of the tornados, he spent most of his time blocking oncoming attacks. Off to his side, he heard "Thundara!!" the surrounding Heartless either flinched or got stunned. Aside from some of the Shadows who disintegrated. 'Nice!' He was glad to have the teen with him, here. on his own, this would be almost impossible.
"How you hanging in there, Yuto?!" thanks to the teen's thunder magic, Yuto managed to catch his breath. "I'm hanging." He turned to see some of the Heartless coming to. 'Gotta hurry.' He rushed to one of the Darkballs, disintegrating through two Shadows and jumping off the head of a third. He pointed his bat at the Darkball. "Ignite." A medium-sized fireball launched itself from the tip of his bat and connected with the Darkball. With that one down, the chance for one of them to spaz out on them went down. He turned to another. He hurled his bat "Spin!" His flaming bat cut through another Darkball. Both of which disintegrated into blackness.
He landed and was hit by one of the Angel Star's balls. 'Prick.' He rolled past a couple more balls and through some flame rings. "Henoke, you good?" The smaller amount of enemies should've made things easier for both of them, even if they were stronger than what they faced until now.

Luckily Yuto was quick on his feet, as he began to deal with some of the Shadows and Darkballs. Hearing the man's "I'm hanging.", Henoke had grinned and was able to fully focus on the enemies in front of him. Knowing his ally was safe allowed him the freedom to focus on the battle. As Yuto dealt with the other enemies, Henoke rushed forward, running directly towards one of the Invisible Heartless that floated in the air, whirling its sword menacingly. As the large Heartless readied itself for the charging teens assault, a brilliant golden light surrounded the large steel grey Keyblade in Henoke's grip.
"Zantetsuken!!!" Suddenly, Henoke was standing behind the Invisible, his body crouched as though he had just lunged and sliced through something. The 'Steel Heart' stopped glowing with the golden hue as Henoke straightened himself, the Invisible suddenly vanishing in a dark vapor, a single heart releasing. Punching the air in victory, Henoke shouted out as suddenly dark flames circled around him. Again?! He was growing annoyed at these fake swordsman's attacks. Rolling out of harms way as the flames enclosed, Henoke shouted out as a large brilliant orb of light collided into him.
Everything went white as he felt his body tumble and fall to the floor, the small explosion from the collision of the magical attack causing him to be knocked clear on his back. He still gripped the Keyblade in his hand, though it felt immensely heavy at the moment. Groaning a bit, a sudden pain in his left arm brought the teen back to his senses. Looking up, he saw one of the Invisible's jagged blades protruding from his arm, red blood beginning to seep out from the wound. "AAAAHHHH!" The pain was unreal as the Heartless mercilessly ripped its sword from the wielders flesh, raising it for another attack.
Fury enveloped Henoke as he felt his blood gush from his wound onto the vast purple floor beneath him. His vision was blurring a bit as he slashed out with his free hand, meeting the Heartless' attack with his own as a loud clang erupted through the area, the two blades colliding. Unfortunately for the wielder, the Heartless had the advantage in number as another tornado was hurled towards the wounded teen. Being blasted backwards, he shouted out in surprise as a Shadow leaped forward from the ground, slashing at his side. It wasn't as serious a hit as the one he had taken earlier, but it still hurt. Reacting out of anger, Henoke slashed out with his weapon in response, slicing through the Shadow and sending its heart back to Kingdom Hearts.
Collapsing onto the ground in a heavy heap, Henoke felt his bodies weight increase as his stamina and health were worn down. C'mon!!! Bastard!!! Keep moving!! Yuto was still fighting! He needed to keep going! Damn it, body! Move!!! The weight subsided as Henoke struggled to push himself to his feet, using the Keyblade as a prop. He straightened himself just in time, as an Angel Star had grown confident with his guard down. It lunged through the air, hurtling its bell shaped body directly towards the weakened warrior. "ARE YOU TRYING TO MOCK ME!?!?!?!?" Now he was mad.
The fragile Heartless did its best at a range, so the fact it was swooping down to attack him with a melee attack simply offended the key bearer. Gritting his teeth, Henoke hoisted the 'Steel Heart' just in time to block the Heartless' attack. Colliding with the Keyblade, the Heartless pushed against Henoke as the teen pushed back, pushing with all his effort. The two stood still for a moment, caught in each other's force. A wide grin emerged on Henoke's face as he saw an Invisible coming from the corner of his eye. Leaping to the side, breaking the guard, Henoke made his way to safety as the large Heartless slashed its jagged blade through the Angel Star, having aimed for the teen originally.
The Heartless evaporated into nothingness, though a heart wasn't released. Heartless couldn't release each other's hearts, after all. Poor guy... Henoke couldn't help but feel sorry for the one who wouldn't find peace.

As Yuto kept his guard up against the Darkballs and occasional Angel Star attack he managed to make his way closer to the door. That was before he heard his friend cry in pain. The man risked a look over to see how Henoke was doing, only to see the Keyblade Wielder on the ground. 'Damndamndamn.' His mind was racing. He slashed a Shadow out of his was as it leaped at him, causing it to melt into darkness. 'Only one thing I can do here,' Yuto dodged a few more attacks to gain some distance. He focused his energy into his bat, which was now coated in black flames. "Game on."
With him in this form, the Darkballs fell with ease. Each melting back into the darkness they came from. He even managed to stun an Angel Star with a surprise attack. As he ran towards his friend, the man saw in Invisible take out an Angel Star. 'Ouch' No time to dwell on that though. He had to make it to his friend. He opened a |Dark Corridor| and used to close the distance between the two men. "Mend! He said as he exited the portal. Henoke was in no condition to fight, and if he couldn't fight here, he was a goner. "Sit back for as long as you can. I got this."
He turned to the Invisible. "So, which one of you decided to hurt my friend?" The man was pissed. The first friend he made in a long while and these things almost killed him. Unsheathing his replikeyblade, he rushed the closest of the two Heartless. Leaping behind one, Yuto unleashed a flurry of attacks on the one before it had a chance to figure out what happened. The other one went to attack as its comrade faded into nothing. Shifting between blocking and dodging, Yuto got in a few choice attacks. He rolled out a ring of fire as it closed and got some decent distance between himself and the Heartless. "You're not getting off that easy." The man taunted. At that moment, he threw his replikeyblade in the air. The invisible launched itself at the man at the same time. Yuto smirked at the creatures attempt at attacking him as he used his |Shadow Strike| to propel the replica weapon through the air and the Invisible. Not being able to take the brunt of both attacks, the Heartless melted away.
He rushed to the teen, aware there were still more enemies. "Feeling better?" He asked, grabbing his replikeyblade off the ground.

He had let his guard down. As Henoke fended off other Heartless attacks with his good arm, he cursed at himself for his own foolishness. This was certainly one thing his master had chided him about. Luckily, Yuto was a skilled combatant who knew healing magic, casting a healing spell that surrounded the young wielder in a green aura. Henoke's wound on his arm healed to a minor cut, his other wounds disappearing. Suddenly he felt rejuvenated, almost as though he had taken a good nap. Rolling a shoulder, Henoke was given a moment of reprove as Yuto summoned extra strength, grinning sheepishly as he heard the menacing: "So, which one of you decided to hurt my friend?" It was nice, having a comrade at his side.
Watching as Yuto unleashed some hidden abilities that Henoke hadn't seen before, the teen took the chance to focus on the two other Heartless outside of his ally's rampage. While his comrade was busy fending off the other Heartless, the key bearer ran closer to the flying Angel Stars, a new wind in his chest. I feel awesome! Magic really was great. Having his strength restored, Henoke hurled the 'Steel Heart' with as much power as he could muster. "Strike Raid!" The large steel Keyblade was a blur of grey as it swirled through the air, knocking both of the Heartless out of the sky and onto the ground.
As the large weapon circled back around through the area towards its owner, Henoke ran directly towards where the two Heartless had fallen. They were both still dazed from the attack and collision with the ground. Jumping high into the air as he snatched his Keyblade back into his hands, Henoke plummeted down onto of the first Angel Star, slicing clean through it as its heart was released. Just as the second one was beginning to stir, the teen lunged forward, delivering three powerful attacks in succession. The last Heartless was defeated.
Yuto rushed over to his side, grasping his wooden replica Keyblade from the ground. "Feeling better?" The question caused Henoke to grin broadly as he thumped his chest with his fist. "Yeah! Thanks for the assist!" The large Keyblade disappeared in a ray of light, as it had seemed that Yuto had finished off the remaining enemies. Giving his friend a thumbs up, his smile didn't wave as he motioned towards the door, walking towards it.
"I told you as long as we stuck together, we'd be fine!" Henoke made a mental note to stay more observant of his surroundings. He didn't want to keep worrying Yuto in the next battle. "Don't worry! These guys caught me off guard, this time. But I'll be ready for the next ones!"

"Yeah! Thanks for the assist! I told you as long as we stuck together, we'd be fine!" He was glad that the teen had made it out alright. but this was only the start. Through the door ahead of them was possibly something worse. Everything he knew pointed to "yes". This place had a habit of turning people on their heads.
"Don't worry! These guys caught me off guard, this time. But I'll be ready for the next ones!" Yuto admired his friend's confidence, but that wasn't what worried him. This place was deadly, no mattered how skilled a person was. The man only survived due to mostly dumb luck. "Not trying to insult you, man, but this place doesn't care how on guard you are. One false step and you're dead. Or worse." He knew he sounded crass, but it was true. The amount he and the master almost died when they were together here were numerous. If they didn't get as lucky as they did...he hated thinking of what might have happened. Normal Heartless were bad enough. but one that took the heart of a wielder? The thought made him shudder.
He walked towards the shore that the door sat on so cozily. Almost mockingly. 'I really do hate this place/' He walked ahead of the teen, making sure that if anything else happened he would be able to see it coming. As they walked, the pressure seemed to level out. It was still unbearable, but it seemed to be constant. The man curled some of his hair behind his left ear. 'I need to invest in a hair tie or two.'
After a walk that seemed like ages, they got to the shore. The door was larger than he first thought. Large and imposing. The door stood, grey and white, in its faded majesty. "What do you think is on the other side of here?" Yuto turned to the teen and leaned on the door. The longer they were here, the worse it would get. However the same could easily be said for going deeper. Nowhere was safe here, only safer.

Keeping his weapon out and resting it on his shoulder, Henoke grimaced a bit hearing Yuto's warning. He recalled his master telling him of the perils that lurked within the dark. It was always waiting for an opening, watching one's every move. A chill went through the teens spine as he followed Yuto towards the shore with the looming white and grey door. The pressure in darkness was immense, though the 'Steel Heart' was a dutiful weapon, keeping most of the wear off of its user. Turning his gaze to the heaving steel blade on his shoulder, Henoke smiled a bit. Heh, that's right...I don't have to worry. There was an important lesson his master had told him of, one that many wielders and trainers had long forgotten.
It was the fact that no Keyblade wielder was alone. They had been chosen by the weapon, as it took form based on the holders inner strength. With the Keyblade at his side, Henoke felt a reassuring confidence bolster within him. He always had a friend at his side. Now he had two. "What do you think is on the other side of here?" As Yuto leaned against the door, Henoke scratched his chin in thought, looking up at the black sky. Chirithy had mentioned something important before he had embarked on his mission about this. "I think it's the heart of the world." His voice echoed through the vast area, seemingly small and insignificant.
His grip tightened on his weapons handle as a determined and serious look came across the key bearers face. Walking forward, he placed a hand on Yuto's shoulder, nodding at the man. "I'm ready. If this is the state the world is in...I need to help it." For a moment, Henoke thought of the vast training grounds, winding and lush in their maze-like design. He thought of the gigantic castle, suspended and tethered by large chains, connected to the looming peaks that littered the world. There's a lot to protect on this place. He looked at the man in front of him, his friend. A smile had emerged on his face as he patted his shoulder reassuringly.
"It just means an epic boss fight! We got this!" He was excited as a fire blazed within his chest. A new light had found its way through the young wielder and was shining brightly. I'll keep my promise. He had vowed to Chirithy he would do his best to restore any worlds he could, as well as keep others safe. That was the duty of a Keyblade Master. For a moment his smile broadened as he thought of what he aspired to be. Soon enough!
He waited for Yuto, wanting to make sure his partner was ready before barging in.

'The heart of the world?' The thought made sense; if the world was falling to darkness, the heart would definitely be in a place like this. This also meant the world could be still be saved. That was enough for him. "I'm ready. If this is the state the world is in...I need to help it." Yuto felt the same. He was gone while his world met an unknown fate, the least he could do was save the ones he could. He gave a nod to the teen before turning to the door. "It just means an epic boss fight! We got this!" The man rolled his eyes with a smile. Henoke's optimism was astounding. 'Are all modern wielders like this?' He hoped so, it was nice to have such a force of confidence and child-like excitement.
With some effort, he got the door open. Yuto turned towards the teen. "Last chance to back out. You ready?" The question was entirely rhetorical, but he still felt the need to ask. If, for whatever reason, the teen's spirit wavered; now would be it. Yuto turned and walked through the now opened door, making sure the wielder was close behind. The first thing he noticed was how dark it was compared to the rest of the area. Dark, with what looked like a bright orb in the center. The safe assumption was that it was the world's heart. "I'd bet money that this is your job." The man gestured to the orb in the center of the area. If all went well, that "boss fight" Henoke mentioned wouldn't happen. Nothing was ever that easy, however. "You ready?"
The less time they spent here, the better. Though this may not be the actual Realm of Darkness, it was close enough to it to keep the man on edge. The familiarity of it all was a little too jarring for him to want to be there long.

The large door creaked with age as it was wrested open by Yuto. Henoke was eager to peek over the man's shoulders, laughing at Yuto's mention of this being his last chance to back out. "As if! You aren't tough enough to handle this alone!" The broad smile on his face showed that the teen was teasing his friend, all in good spirits as the two entered the dark space that lurked before them. Everything was black, other than a single brilliant glimmering orb that shone in the center of the room. Nothing else remained. Despite the brilliant light, there was a heaving presence of darkness that tasted foul in the wielders mouth. "I'd bet money that this is your job." Yuto's voice was dimmed and muffled in the area, sounding almost as if the two were under water.
"You ready?" The faint echo dinned throughout his mind, which felt oddly foggy. Shaking his head a bit and gripping his Keyblade tightly, Henoke nodded at his friend as his courage and light pressed him onward. Taking a few silent steps towards the large orb, the teen's sharp eyes picked up on the movement happening in the center of the room. All at once the heavy presence amplified, causing the room to quake and shake as large tendrils of darkness emerged from around the orb, latching themselves around it protectively as a roar caused Henoke's ear drums to ring. Taking a step back to balance himself against the shaking dark floor, the wielder witnessed a surge of darkness erupt forth from the ground as a hulking monstrosity appeared before them.
The Behemoth shook the ground as it took a few hulking steps forward, emerging into existence as its horn shone vibrantly with lightning. The massive Emblem Heartless wasn't alone, as many Neoshadows emerged forth from the floor, forming from the darkness already encasing the world. Staring up at the gigantic horned beast, Henoke let out a shout as he leapt backwards and out of the way of a powerful lightning bolt that struck where he had been standing. It can use magic!?! Henoke had never seen a Heartless like this before, the sheer size of it was overwhelming. As many of the Neoshadows began to meld into the floor, seeking out their prey, Henoke turned to Yuto with a grin.
"Well, I guess it couldn't have been that easy, right?" Turning to face the oncoming enemies, Henoke dashed forward, evading an attack from a Neoshadow as he gripped his Keyblade tightly in both hands, hoisting it up at his side and pointing its tip towards the large Behemoth. "Forget the small fry! We should take this guy out, first!" He could deal with the numbers, having learned from their last battle already. What worried him was the sheer power of the humongous Heartless. The gigantic beast reared its front half into the air, hoisted up on its rear hooves as it slammed its front legs back onto the dark floor. A large shockwave shook the earth as the pressure surged towards Henoke and Yuto.
Leaping high into the air, higher than any average human could jump, Henoke cleared the massive shockwave that happened to pummel some of the nearby smaller Heartless as well, stunning them a bit. Raising his Keyblade high above his head, Henoke slashed down with all his might as he neared the large Behemoth. The Keyblade scraped against the creature's face, causing it to shake its head and grunt. The sheer shaking of its head caused Henoke to be launched backwards, rolling as he hit the ground in order to avoid injuries. Standing up and rubbing the back of his head, the wielder grimaced and shouted over at Yuto.
"I don't think attacking it head on is going to do much!"

Yuto noticed the Behemoth emerge behind the now entrapped heart of the world. 'Oh, god DAMNIT!' He readied himself for a fight as the horned Heartless launched a lightning attack at them. It could never be easy. First an ambush, now this. The Realm of Darkness never pulled its punches. but it always went for the throat. "Well, I guess it couldn't have been that easy, right?" The teen was right, of course, and Yuto couldn't help but smile at the teen's awareness of the situation. "No, but they could've made it easier." These attacks were getting annoying.
He didn't have much time to think as the Behemoth reared itself on its hind legs. The massive Heartless slammed on the ground with enough force to send a massive shockwave outward. Yuto leaped higher than most to clear the attack. Only when he was in the air did he notice the Heartless that spawned around the massive one. The Neoshadows seemed to be stunned by the Behemoth's attack. 'That explains what he meant by small fry.'
While Henoke was right about needing to focus on the large one, the Neoshadows would make that job harder. Besides, if either of them were able to take on something like that for a decent amount of time, it was Henoke. As he landed, the man decided to take out a couple of Neoshadows while they were still out for the count. "I don't think attacking it head on is going to do much!" That wasn't too bad if they could avoid the lightning and shockwaves. Yuto charged the Neoshadows, hoping to make a dent in the enemies ranks while they were stunned. The Behemoth did more damage to these Heartless than he thought. The first two went down without much effort. 'Must've bee closest to the large one.' He rushed a third just as it was starting to come around, causing it to disintegrate like the first two. He didn't have as much time as he hoped. I wanted to dispatch a few more, but he took the free kills he could get.
Looking around, he noticed that the Neoshadows were harder to see than normal. Almost like they were just a shade or two shy of blending perfectly into the darkness that surrounded them. The only reason he noticed this now was that they were moving, and the only way he could easily keep track of them was by watching their bright yellow eyes. He readied himself for an onslaught of attacks from the remaining group.

While Yuto aided in creating more space for the two, Henoke continued to go back and forth with the large Behemoth heartless. The gigantic beast was slow but powerful, the Keyblade wielder attempting to be patient and find room to strike. So far most hits to the legs, face and sides didn't work. Only a few places left... The teen was focused, dodging and weaving through what Neoshadows got past his partner as he rolled beneath the beast to avoid the newest pummel of lightning that crashed upon the area. "Yuto!!!" The teen shouted out from underneath the monster, unsure if his partner could hear him. "It's horn glows whenever it's about to shoot out that lightning!!!" He hoped the warning helped his friend, trusting him to take care of the smaller creatures as he focused on the Behemoth.
Beneath the monster the ground shook any time it moved or stepped, making it so that Henoke had to constantly jump around underneath while avoiding its massive hooves. This guy is annoying! He was beginning to grow frustrated. So far none of his attacks had really worked that well. If I could get on top... The teen jumped backwards and out of the way of a nearing hoof as the monster stepped down. It seemed the Neoshadows wouldn't try and come near him from beneath the creature, nervous of getting trampled, the other Heartless began to focus mostly on Yuto. Buy me some time, Yuto! Sweat broke across his brow as the teen sized up the leg that was nearest to him. Dashing out from beneath the Behemoth, Henoke leapt up onto one of the creatures massive knees as it readied itself to turn again.
Leaping forward form the knee onto the creatures lower back, the key bearer stumbled to catch his footing on the rocky back of the Heartless he was on. On the massive monsters lower torso, Henoke looked across the large back that spanned beneath him, eyeing the Behemoth's large head. Bingo! Running forward as fast as he could, Henoke used his Sliding Dash ability to clear the distance between him and the head, not wanting to risk falling off of the monsters back. Heaving the Keyblade with both hands, Henoke slashed out with the mighty weapon at the back of the creatures head. Though the blade hit the back of the creatures neck, nothing really seemed to happen as the impact caused his arms to rattle. Taking a step back, Henoke yelled out as he almost slipped from the creatures neck, which now noticed he was onto of it.
With a shake of its massive head, the beast reared and roared on its hind legs, attempting to shake the intruder off. Launched from the back of the neck, Henoke grasped onto one of the creature's massive horn-tusks as it thrashed, the Keyblade disappearing in a ray of light so he could hold on with both hands. With a massive thud the beast landed back on all fours, causing a massive shockwave to ripple out throughout the area. Many of the Neoshadows melded into the shadows to avoid any repercussions, but one was not so lucky. Obliterated by the massive shockwave, one of the Heartless evaporated back into the realm from which it came. After the crash landing, Henoke dropped form the massive horn directly on top of the Behemoth's head.
Summoning the Keyblade back to him in a brilliant ray of light, Henoke aimed to slash the beast and maim its eye. The Behemoth had felt the landing however, shaking its head at the last moment, causing the teen to spin off balance. Riiiiing Metal clashed against bone as the hefty Keyblade struck the horn that protruded from the beasts forehead. Unlike the large horned tusks that grew out of its mouths, this one was small and triangular in shape, jutting out and forward. Roaring out in pain, the Behemoth ducked its head, exposing the horn as it collapsed momentarily.
"YUTO!!!" A massive grin had emerged on Henoke's face as he fell through the air towards the enemy. The 'Steel Heart' became surrounded in a radiant light energy as he fell, gripping the hefty weapon with both hands over his head as he shouted out: "BLITZ!!" Slashing down as he landed to attack the Behemoth's horn, the powerful attack struck true as another ring sounded out the blow across the area. The beast roared out in pain, rearing back up on all fours as its horn shown brightly, calling forth other bursts of lightning. Having barely recovered from his landing, Henoke was caught off guard as the lightning crashed around him. "Argh!" Shocked with moderate damage, the key bearer was hurled backwards towards his comrade, landing on his back with a pained cough. For a moment, everything spun as Henoke lay there on the ground, smoking and singed from the electricity.
After a moment, the key bearer collected himself as he stood up, shaking his head a bit. His already spiky orange hair seemed to be sticking up even more, his body steaming a bit as the electricity cooled off. Holding a thumbs up, the broad grin that had emerged on his face remained as he looked up at his friend. "It's weakness is the horn!" Standing up, albeit swaying momentarily, Henoke shook himself and dusted himself off. The Behemoth was facing the two of them now, its horn charging up for another attack, though this light seemed different from before. Readying himself in a battle stance, Henoke looked over at Yuto. "I can stall it a bit longer now that I know what it's weak to. Can you take care of the others?" His gold-brown eyes lingered on the remaining NeoShadows.
He would stay and fight with his friend if he needed help, otherwise he would charge back against the Behemoth, which was readying its next attack.

The NeoShadows were starting to get annoying. Every time he hit one or blocked another, twice as many seemed to be next in line to attack. "It's horn glows whenever it's about to shoot out that lightning!!!" So the big one had a tell, that was great for fighting it. How that would help against the others though, Yuto had no idea.
The man managed to fend off a few more Neoshadows before backing into what he assumed was a wall. The vibrations from the Behemoth's footsteps weren't making this fight any easier. As he attempted to make an opening to escape the man looked up to see Henoke on the Heartless' back. 'What the hell?' Yuto stood in awe as the brightly colored teen sped towards the Behemoth's head. The time he took to watch his friend gave the Heartless surrounding him an opening, however. As he looked back, they pounced on him. Scratching and clawing at him, Yuto didn't have much of a choice. "ERUPT!" The Neoshadows were thrown off of him by a semicircle of four columns of flame.
As the man stood he heard his friend fall off the massive heartless and be struck by lightning. He rushed over, having nothing in his way at the time. "It's weakness is the horn!" For someone who was just electrocuted and currently steaming, Henoke looked alright. "I can stall it a bit longer now that I know what it's weak to. Can you take care of the others?" That shouldn't be difficult, considering the only reason he got overpowered was that he got distracted. "I got the small fry. Just try to stop getting thrown everywhere." He hefted his bat and readied himself to start swinging.
He knew that his friend was better equipped to fight the Behemoth, all Yuto had to do was keep the Neoshadows from interrupting their fight. He lobbed his bat at the group. "Spin!" The flaming bat cleaved through one of the Heartless, causing it to melt back into nothing, and stunned another. Yuto knew that if the Neoshadows focused on him, Henoke could fight uninterrupted. Taking the opportunity to take out the stunned Heartless, the man made it to the other side of the group so he could keep an eye on his friend and the Behemoth. If the teen needed help, he would know.

"I got the small fry. Just try to stop getting thrown everywhere." Henoke laughed at Yuto's response, With a broad grin on his face, Henoke glanced over at the Behemoth, which was currently charging a massive attack. Its horn was glowing a vibrant light as a large orb of energy seemed to be gathering at the tip of its horn. Beginning to unravel the bandages wrapped around the blade of his Keyblade, the teen looked over at Yuto with a confident grin. "Alright. I'll get serious." After the bandages were undone, Henoke gripped the handle of his weapon with both hands, pulling with all of his might. The large groove down the center of the blade snapped, as the weapon was transformed into two.
The Keyblade had seemingly been cleanly sliced in half vertically, creating two one-sided blades rather than his one large two-sided one. The large hefty weight the teen normally carried was evenly broken into two weapons, equally balanced and much lighter separately. Twirling the two blades in his hands, Henoke readied himself in a battle position as the Behemoth seemed to almost be done its charge. "I'm gonna stop that from happening." If it was almost ready, he needed speed. Running as fast as he could towards the hulking beast, Henoke held the two blades out at his sides. Luckily the path was clear, though the orb gathering at the end of the Behemoth's horn seemed as though it were about to burst.
Once he was close enough to the Heartless, Henoke shouted out as a surge of power rushed forth from him, the two blades he held flickering and sparking with golden energy. "ZANTETSUKEN!!!" Within the blink of an eye, perhaps even faster than that, the teen was suddenly behind the Behemoth, crouched with the two weapons held out. A single after image remained, a speeding orange line that seemed to pass through the beast, just as it was readying its attack. Shouting out in agony, the orb at the tip of its horn burst as the spell was cancelled, the horn itself slicing in half horizontally, stubbing it.
Henoke jolted in surprise, spinning on his heels as he watched the monster roar out in agony, thrashing about the area. It-It's still standing?! It was his most powerful attack, one that took a lot out of him. His breathing was a bit more ragged now, his muscles sore from the exertion. Standing up straight with a slight wince, the teen kept his grip firm on both weapons as the beast roared and thrashed about. Luckily, its agony kept it from emitting too much power, so its thrashing didn't cause any shockwaves to emerge. The golden energy that had surrounded his weapons flickered away, the steel grey blade glinting in the dark.
Gritting his teeth a bit, the teen lifted one of his long blades to point it directly at the creature. "OI! It's RUDE to ignore someone's final attack!!!" A single vein had emerged on the teens forehead as his face grew a little red. "AT LEAST COUNTER ATTACK!!!" Frustrated and annoyed, the teen had begun to charge once more at the creature, taking aim of its now stubbed horn on the forehead. Lashing out with his right weapon, Henoke shouted out his spell as a large burst of heat erupted from the weapon tip, blasting forth a large fireball that curved and honed in on his target. "Firaga!!!" The collision caused a large explosion that blinded the Behemoth, who roared out in even more pain as it stomped its front legs.
The shockwave that was sent forth rippled through the ground. Already running at his full speed, Henoke went to leap and avoid it. Crouching to jump, a pain jolted through his knees as he stumbled, the shockwave hitting him as he was thrown back. Landing with a roll and going to one knee, Henoke winced as his body recovered. Damn it! I shouldn't have used that so soon! He had grown impatient, wanting to beat the creature to the punch. Now he was paying for it. Zantetsuken was a powerful move, one that took years of training to perfect. He hadn't come close to perfecting it, the honed speed that slices through an opponent faster than the blink of an eye. To overcompensate for his lack of training, Henoke focused even more power and speed that was normally put into the move, pushing his body past its limits for a single moment.
That single moment had its price, as he had noticed earlier. I need to be careful of how I'm pushing myself. Looking over towards Yuto, the teen saw his friend cleave through the mob of Heartless with his flaming bat. Yeah, Yuto! It seemed he didn't have to worry about his friend. With that in mind, Henoke focused his magic as he held one weapon into the air and the other at his side. A green aura began to cloak the wielder as leaves petaled down around him. "Cura" The spell was his saving grace, immediately relieving his body of the wounds and tolls of earlier. Healing magic was probably his favorite, since he seemed to get hurt a lock. Grinning as though he were a child fresh out of a rejuvenating bath, Henoke lifted a weapon and pointed it at the Behemoth, who had seemed to regain itself.
The two squared off once more, though now Henoke had the advantage. He could heal. This creature couldn't, by the looks of it. Allowing himself a chance, the teen glanced over to see how his friend was faring.

He watched the teen fall from the back of the Behemoth he couldn't help but sigh. 'So he decided to go from being thrown to falling? Ok.' The man swatted a Neoshadow out of the air before looking back to see that Henoke had healed himself. 'Ok, good. He'll be fine.' Yuto wasn't actually worried about his friend, the amount they went through in the few short hours of knowing each other, he knew the teen would make it through.
He swept some hair out of his face and refocused on the group surrounding him. They seemed to be more cautious now. Considering what just happened to their comrades, Yuto didn't blame them. That didn't change the fact that they needed to die so both he and Henoke could leave. With that in mind, he swung at the group. Catching one in the side before it slipped into the ground like its friends. Taking the opportunity, the man continued to combo attack the heartless until it melted into nothing. Looking around, he noticed that the Heartless were spreading out. 'This is gonna take forever if I just mindlessly swing.' He examined the remaining enemies. They seemed to mainly sink into the ground to avoid attacks. 'I might to be able to use that.' He rushed one of the Neoshadows using his |Flame Dash| ability. Just as he thought, the Heartless sank into the floor and moved away. Yuto turned to where he watched the creature start to rise. He leveled his bat in the same direction. "Blaze." A medium-sized fireball launched itself from the tip of his bat and caught the Heartless just as it finished rising from the ground, disintegrating it in the explosion.
He looked over at the other two Neoshadows. The ones that were left of this battle. The two of them rushed at him, and he at them. Meeting in the middle, the man guarded against both of them using both his bat and his replikeyblade. The weapon was stronger than he gave it credit for. He decided that if something were to happen to his bat that this would be an amazing replacement. "How ya doin', Henoke?" The man called to his friend, hoping that they could be done with this soon.
