The gateway Serena made had taken them to the world of New Yuio, more specifically to the kingdom of Riley and his now dead wife Iris. The place was still in ruins from the battle that took place a month ago. The walls of the kingdom had massive holes and cracks in them, most of the houses weren't much better off than the ones in the village they left, the theater was now just a pile of rubble, the bakery was burned to the ground, the marketplace was mostly just a bunch of craters, and the walls to the castle were in a worse state than the walls around the kingdom. The castle itself had entire sections of it missing but that was all the damage that could be seen from the outside, as most of the fighting took place inside.
Riley wasn't too bothered by the state his kingdom was in, he had gotten use to it by now. His mind was mostly focused on Serena and how she put him n a collar again. He hated it when she did that in public, he had a reputation to maintain. He did still keep it on and waited for her, he knew she would only get worse from this, and she always caught him every time he ran. His eyes wondered over the ruined kingdom and the memories of what happened here started to come back. The battle that started the downward spiral that made him lose almost everything.
Alice wasn't too bothered by how things looked. She knew that they were getting a much more interesting place to live very soon. She also knew what was going to happen once they entered the castle, so she prepared herself for the trial ahead. Once she finally proved her worth she would get their goddess to upgrade her in a similar way she was going to do to her grandfather. She wasn't going to be left behind, besides it wasn't like she could just go back to her own time period. Once Kavra came through the gateway she looked at him. "These are of ruins of where we live," she told him. "At least until something very interesting happens a few days from now." She remembered reading all about it in one of the history books from her time. She was eager to see what was left out of the books.
Serena came through the gateway a little after Kavra, with it closing behind her. She looked around the kingdom and her mood dropped. "Damn.." She had heard about the battle that took place here, but this was her first time seeing the aftermath of it. Nearly everything was in ruins if not completely gone. If she knew this place was in such bad shape she would have taken them somewhere else.
Serena looked over at her boyfriend and noticed his change in mood. She knew exactly what was on his mind and wouldn't allow him to stay in such a mood for long. She walked over to him and grabbed the chain around his collar. "You know that you are in so much trouble tonight right?" She gave him a serious look. Riley gave her a look of concern. Serena couldn't hold in her enticement anymore and started giggling. "Because when I'm done with you you won't be able to walk straight!" She started laughing before she picked him up and nearly hugged him to death. She started flying around spinning him around and kissing him over and over again. It had been a week since she saw him and she did say they were going to make up for lost time.
Serena then remembered they weren't alone and dropped him. "Sorry.." She rubbed the back of her head. Riley sighed and dusted himself off. Serena floated down next to him and looked at Kavra. "I'm Serena Riley's girlfriend," She grabbed Riley and hugged him again. "Or as I like to call him my Little EdgeLord, or my Little EdgyWedgy." She pinched Riley's cheek as his face turned a bright red. He hated that second nickname with a passion. Or at least that's what he always said to try to protest her actions but it never worked.

For a moment, Kavra thought the portal was just for show. The world they stood on seemed identical to the ruin they had just wreaked, a tattered and decimated kingdom with little to no life left. ”These are ruins of where we live.” Alice’s voice caused the Nobody to turn, seeing both her and Riley standing near him. ”At least until something very interesting happens a few days from now.” His eyes lingered back over the decimated village and ruined castle, his face blank and emotionless. Whatta heap. Whatever was gonna happen in a few days, Kavra was sure nothing could worsen the area’s state.
While Riley was swooped up into the air, Kavra figured he had time to kill and lit another smoke. Finding a suitable ruined wall to lean against, the Nobody dwelled on his goal. As Serena settled down and introduced herself, the Nobody’s face would show the faintest scowl, his brow furrowing a bit as he glanced away and took another drag. ”Serena—I told you I wouldn’t forgive you, right?” Sighing as he crossed his arms, Kavra couldn’t muster up a look that would be convincing enough for feigned annoyance. ”Why’d you get in the way? We had already won.” All that had been left was to gather the spoils. The hearts—
Another exhale of smoke. Another sigh. I can’t even feel angry about it. Or frustrated. Nothing. Shifting his gaze over to Riley, Kavra kept the cigarette between his lips as he pointed at the demon. ”You’ll find me better hearts than those pests to make up for it, yeah?” Other than the fire bastard that had taken out his arms, Kavra had hardly sweat during the last fight. That was ideal for him, of course, but truly what it meant was that none of those they had faced had strong enough hearts. ”You played around a lot, too. Why bother with those small-fry? They seemed like pushovers.” It was mostly around his own impatience, but there was genuine curiosity in the Nobody’s otherwise vacant and dull gaze.
Despite Serena’s actions, Kavra had seen Riley on the battlefield. He knew the demon was no joke. Surely there had to be stronger hearts, ones Riley knew about, that he’d be able to procure.

Serena sighed and let go of Riley. "Because you don't know him like I do." She gave Kavra a serious look. "If I didn't stop him he would have only gotten worse, and I would rather not let it get to the point where he doesn't even know who I am. I'd like to avoid fighting him to make him calm down if I can." She remembered the last time she had to do that, and it was one of the worst memories she had. She would do anything to avoid having a repeat of that.
When Riley was asked why worry about someone so weak the memories of what he even started all this came back to him. "Why bother? Why Bother?!" he asked. "Because how strong they are is irrelevant." His blue eye got dimmer, and his crimson eye got brighter. "When I said I was done being known as the weak failure I meant it. Everyone who has ever wronged me, betrayed me, or has gotten in my way will die by my hands. All the worlds I've already destroyed, all the innocent souls I've destroyed, all the women and children who were just bystanders, were all just acceptable collateral damage to me." His eye started twitched and he got more visibly angry to match. "Trish and her neighbors were just mere stepping stones on my path to power. The ones who are left and those who dare get in my way will all suffer fates far worse than death. I'll force them to watch me murder their children, their loved ones, I'll reduce everything they hold dear to ash. I'll drive their race to extinction where necessary, I'll turn their closest friends and love ones against them before I kill them too."
"And if they try to run?" Riley started laughing evilly and psychotically. "I'll hunt them down to the ends of the universe if I have to. And as punishment I'll kill every innocent person along the way. I'll paint the stars red with their blood if I have to. I'll destroy them, I'll destroy whatever place they were hiding, I'll tear them limb from limb, I'll feast on their flesh and blood, and I won't stop until I get every last one of them!"
Serena placed her hand on Riley's chest and it started glowing. Riley's crimson eye stopped glowing and his blue eye turned back to it's normal color. He shook his head before holding his hand to it. His breathing got heavy before he shook his head again. Serena hugged him tightly and sighed with relief. "See what I mean?" She asked. "He's not usually this bad unprovoked, but whatever happened while I was gone had to be really bad for him to get like this. It could take days before he turns back to normal."
The symbol's on Riley and Alice's outfits started glowing as an image slowly started to appear before them. The image was that of a woman who looked a lot like a Chaos Demon, but there was something more 'godly' about her. Her hair was an icy white and her skin was a dark yellow. Her tail matched Alice's in terms of shape, but its color matched her skin. Where her eyes should have been white there were pitch black instead. Her pupils were vertical like the trio Kavra was traveling with, and they were a bright gold that gave off the sense of evil. "I've been watching your progress and I see you've taken a liking to your new role," she said looking at Riley. "How are you liking your new powers?"
The three had already bowed to her once she was fully visible. Kurome, Riley's past life, appeared beside him and bowed as well. "They suit me well my goddess." Riley answered. "But yet I still feel like there's something missing, as if I am not yet complete."
"It's only natural for you to feel this way." Zgearia answered. "There's still a lot left for you to do before the power you truly desire comes to you. Speaking of which," she looked back at the castle before turning to face him again. "I've prepared a little trial for you in the castle. A little something to find out where you stand and help me figure out what's best for you. You'll have to face your biggest fears and your biggest weakness. There's also a few surprises in it that await you."
"I shall do my best my goddess." Riley stood up and started to walk towards the castle.
"Kurome we've already discussed what your role in the trial is. Don't over do it now."
"I promise I won't Lord Zgearia," she said. "But I will push him to his limit~" She slowly disappeared back into Riley again.
Zgearia slowly walked to Serena. "How was the mission I last sent you on? Are they on to you?"
"They have no idea that it's me," Serena smiled. "And the best part is I was assigned to watch Riley and report on him, so things couldn't get any more perfect for us."
"That's good to hear. having you with him for this trial would make facing his biggest weakness too easy. For now what don't you wait here until it's over?"
"I don't mind at all. Besides it gives me time to decide on what I'm going to do to him later~"
Zgearia then walked to Alice. "It's good to see you again. I know how much you like to follow your grandfather around, but I don't remember assigning you to this mission."
"The you from my time period sent me here." Alice said with a smile. "To help 'work out' my so called issues."
"Very well. In that case you can join him in the trial."
"It will be done my goddess." Alice stood up and started to follow Riley.
Zgearia then looked at Kavra. "Ah yes, the one who seeks a heart." She smiled. "Rest assured the strong heart you seek lies at the end of this journey. Alice will show you who's heart you will be getting at the end of all this. But for now why don't you join this little trial? It'll help me see why you fight so hard for a heart."

Hearing Serena’s warning as well as witnessing Riley’s long winded villain-type spiel, the reality began to dawn on Kavra. It’s a…personality disorder? It seemed to be the case, especially after witnessing the change in the demon’s eyes after Serena’s meddling. Crossing his arms and standing quietly, the nobody eyed the one who offered him a heart cautiously. Hm…this could be bad. If he loses himself too much, will he even remember the deal? That wouldn’t do. Perhaps he'd have to take Serena's warnings and cautions more seriously. Sighing a bit and shaking his head, the Nobody halted as suddenly a visage began to appear. As Zgearia emerged, Kavra eyed the other three, noticing how all of them bowed low the moment the woman arrived. Oho? Someone important? Just when he thought he had already met all of the big contenders, too.
Watching as she swiftly gave commands to Riley and checked in with Serena and Alice, the Nobody was surprised at the sudden shift in dynamic. It seemed that all of the rather volatile characters he was surrounded by served the woman, calling her a ‘goddess’. For a moment, Kavra couldn’t help but wonder, turning his gaze towards the castle in the distance, his arms still crossed over his chest. A trial, huh? He didn’t like the sound of it. ”Ah yes, the one who seeks a heart.” Despite his lack of emotion and overall apathy, the moment he found himself addressed, Kavra had straightened a bit, finding a hand shooting up to his chest in salute.
The hell am I doing? For some reason, it just kind of happened, he hadn’t really thought about it. His body just seemed to move on its own. ”Rest assured, the strong heart you seek lies at the end of this journey.” It was almost as though their very words were a hypnotic melody, lulling any doubts or worries. ”For now why don’t you join this little trial? It’ll help me see why you fight so hard for a heart.” Despite himself, Kavra couldn’t manage to speak out a retort. It felt like there was a huge lump in his throat, his mouth dry and tongue sandy. Finding himself nodding despite his lack of enthusiasm at the task ahead, the quiet Nobody turned to follow Riley and Alice, his pace quicker than normal. A—Goddess? Her presence had certainly made him felt weird.
What was up with that? Following the others towards the castle, Kavra turned to glance over his shoulder. Eyeing Serena and Zgearia as he departed, the Nobody couldn't help but wonder...

Serena watched Riley as he headed towards the castle. Deep down she really wished she could go with him, wanting to always be there for him no matter what. She knew what he was about to face, and how difficult it was going to be for him. She had a worried look on her face as she thought about all the ways it could go wrong. "Please make it through this Riley," she said in a low voice.
"That was our goddess," Alice explained to Kavra as she trailed closely behind her grandfather. "Long story short many eons ago she created our species; Chaos Demons. She's the one who made these self-repairing outfits for us, as well as Grandpa's buzzsaw motorcycle. I'm thinking about getting a few new weapons too," She turned to face the castle as they got closer to it. "Because I refuse to get left behind."
The walls of the castle matched the rest of the kingdom, as did the path leading into the castle itself. The inside of the castle was somehow worse off than the rest of the kingdom. Parts of it had been completely burned away, small pools of lava were scattered around the place, other parts were frozen solid, piles of rubble were high, spots of dried up blood was nearly everywhere, and rays of light shone through the countless holes all over the walls and ceiling. All the paintings and furniture had slashes in them if they weren't completely unrecognizable. It was like an entire war had took place inside the castle.
Riley stopped to look over the place as the memories of the battle that took place here came rushing back. Where one sneak attack explosion started everything, where they would first lose Winda. It was here were Riley really gave into his lust for power, not caring what damage it would cause. The corruption of Psy and his scythe only made the temptation even worse. It felt good to finally have a taste of the power he always wanted, and he'll be damned if anyone got in the way of finally... Riley shook his head and regained his focus. His path to power would have to wait, he had a trial to pass.
Riley didn't feel anything in the main hall, but looking for the trial all over the castle would take forever. He then got a certain feeling in his heart as if it was being tugged on by something, or someone. For some reason he couldn't explain he knew something was waiting for him in the throne room. Whatever it was there was only one way to get this trial over with. He looked back at the other two for a brief moment before he kept going. Down the different hallways that were all varying degrees of destroyed, with the doors opened to all the rooms that weren't much better off, through the library where all the shelves were turned over and burned, but the mysterious black block remained unharmed, and they were finally at the doors to the throne room. The doors were a now faded gold that was tainted with blood and slash marks.
Going through the doors revealed a very large room that had a very high ceiling. Stained glass windows were mostly broken, but ran along both sides high above. The pillars that ran along each side had various cracks in them as well as parts of them missing. At the back of the room stood the thrones, six of them in fact. One for Riley and each of his wives. Some of the thrones had cracks in them while the others were slashed into different pieces. Riley got very tense as he began to feel something and footsteps could be heard echoing through the castle. An aura that made him get a very worried look across his face. Even if there was a slight difference in the aura he knew who it belonged to very well. It just couldn't be her, she was dead. Out from behind the rubble beside the thrones the aura grew stronger and the footsteps louder and slower. Riley's heart and mind starting racing. "No.. It can't be you.. you're dead..." Riley said taking two steps back as the figure revealed herself.
Riley's fourth wife Iris walked out from behind the rubble and walked across the platform that held the thrones. She looked different from how she usually was. Her eyes, that were normally a bright blue, were now a dark red. Her long hair, once a bright green, was now half white half black. She wore black lipstick and there was a dark tint to her armor and clothes, but it was Iris O'Malley just the same. "Well if it isn't my idiot husband..." She finally said giving Riley a disapproving look. "Did you here come to ruin everything again?"
At first Riley was speechless from still trying to get out of shock, and getting over the sense of dread and fear in his heart. "Iris.. I didn't mean to.."
"Why speak to me from all the way over there as if we haven't been married for four years?" Iris extended her hand out. "Come to be my love, embrace me,"
Riley ran to her and hugged her tightly, holding back tears from the memory of her being killed. "I thought I lost you," he said pulling back and looking into her eyes.
Iris didn't say anything, she just placed her hand on Riley's cheek and smiled. Riley leaned into it and closed his eyes, just happy to be feeling her touch again. That feeling was short lived as Iris slapped him across the face hard enough to leave a hand print on his cheek. Before Riley could even react Iris duct and an Elf girl that Riley's height appeared behind her and punched Riley sending him sliding hard across the floor. The girl's hair was a darker shade of red than normal, same with her eyes. It was Maple O'Malley, Riley's first wife.
"Moron," Alice muttered getting ready for what was happening.
"It's all your fault that we died." Maple said giving Riley an angry look.
Soon A girl with dark green eyes and darker green hair appeared next to them. From the shoulders down she was completely mechanical now, but she was still Winda O'Malley, Riley's second wife. "But it's not like you'll live to regret it for much longer~"
Finally another elf girl appeared to join them, this time one with purple hair that was tied into a braided ponytail. Where her eyes would be white they were a bright orange, and her eyes were a dark gold. But it was still Merlina O'Malley, Riley's third wife. "We'll be making sure that you join us one way or another!"
"Our idiot husband is mine to deal with," Maple said looking at her fellow wives. "Take care of the other two."
Winda flew up and shot twenty wind orbs at Alice, while Merlina shot twenty orbs of light at Kavra. Iris on the other hand sat on one of the thrones. She knew what her role really was in all this. Maple picked up Riley by his shirt and gave him an evil smile. Her gauntlets appeared on her arms before she punched him sending him crashing into the back wall.

As the trio walked, Kavra listened with a vacant look while Alice talked. Goddesses…demons? Stuff like that seemed beyond him—how could one without a heart comprehend beings such as those? ”I’m thinking about getting a few new weapons too, because I refuse to get left behind.” The sudden determination the girl showed caused the Nobody to tsk! and look away. Crossing his arms, Kavra instead chose to look at the castle they were heading towards. With everything so ruined, it was hard to appreciate what grandeur it might have held.
Upon entering the ruined place, Kavra wondered what had caused such destruction and ruin. It looked similar to what they had left behind, in their own wake… Riley began to wander, seemingly distracted—no—almost as though intently following something that Kavra couldn’t detect. They know where we’re going…right? Whatever track the demon was following, the Nobody was clueless, following silently. Led to a large pair of slashed and blood-stained doors, Kavra glanced around the hallway they had walked down. Doesn’t look like anyone’s following us… Though, who would be alive in such a ruined area to follow them was another thing to ponder.
Following Riley into the destroyed Throne Room, Kavra halted as he watched a worried look flash across Riley’s face—just as the echo of footsteps began. Upon Iris’s appearance, the Nobody took a sudden step back, getting ready to summon his weapon. Where did she—?! Seeing Riley rush to the woman and embrace her however, Kavra stopped, tilting his head a bit. Just as he turned towards Alice to ask who the stranger was—Riley was sent flying across the Throne Room floor before them. ”Moron,” As Alice prepared, Kavra summoned The Smoker’s Pipe, readying himself in a battle stance with a sigh.
”It's just one thing after another…” Well, he had supposed obtaining a heart wouldn’t be easy. Within seconds, countless other women began to emerge from seemingly nowhere. Before the Nobody could act, he and Alice were flanked by both sides as Riley was taken on from the center. The sudden barrage of light orbs caught him by surprise, causing Kavra to backpedal as he began to twirl his staff in a circle in front of him, in order to deflect the worst of the damage.
”Tch—how unfortunate.” Despite a few of the orbs landing their mark, it hadn’t seemed to hurt the Nobody that much. Born from the Nothingness, Light and Dark were both parts of him, after all. ”It seems you’re unlucky.” Covering the distancing using his Sliding Dash ability, Kavra rushed in to Merlina with a bored expression on his face. Delivering a swift melee combo, the Nobody would leap backwards into the air, using their Dark Step ability to stand above Merlina on a platform of darkness as he aimed his staff at her.
”Freeze.” Darkness and ice launched forth from Kavra’s weapon as he unleashed a Dark Blizzara at the woman.

After Riley went crashing through the back wall he slid across the floor. Some of the debris followed him, and there was a trail of blood that marked where he went. He laid there for a few seconds as something began to happen in both his mind and heart. Soon he was awake again, still processing everything that was happening. He quickly sat up remembering who he was fighting. Maple jumped through the hole he punched Riley in and slowly walked towards him. Riley quickly got to his feet and summoned his scythe. This was a trial
Maple stopped and gave him an evil smile. "Are you sure that's how you want to do this?" She asked. "What will you do if you erase me? Do you also consider me nothing more than fodder for your blades?"
Riley's eyes widened once he finally realized a drawback to his powers. He could end the fight easily with Blade of the Damned, but it would cost the lives of his four wives that were just killed permanently. Was this trial testing his loyalty to his goddess? Or was it testing his love for his wives? Both answers would make this one of the most difficult challenges he's ever faced. Before he could even try to figure out which answer was right Maple had already hit him across the chest, dragging him through the air before slamming him on the ground. The force of her attack created a crater right where Riley landed causing him to cough up blood.
Alice quickly made use of her speed and ran out of range of Winda's attack. She ran up the left wall and stood on it summoning her keyblade. She then looked at Iris wondering what she was planning to do.
Merlina quickly summoned her staff and used it to block most of Kavra's attack, but it still pushed her back. When he landed on a platform of darkness Merlina knew she would have to get more creative to deal with him. With the Dark Blizzara coming her way she had the perfect idea. She took a page out of her husband's book and froze the icy projectile in the air with telekinesis and redirected it right back to him. She then lifted some of the rubble from Maple punching Riley through the wall and threw the rubble to the ceiling above Kavra. When the rubble collided with the ceiling above some of it broke, and the debris came falling down to the area below.
Alice knew if they had any chance of winning it wouldn't be in this room. They needed more room to take full advantage of what they had to do. Her eyes lit up with blue energy with traces of black as she used psy aura on Kavra. She then ran along the wall and jumped through the hole that was made when Maple punched Riley through it.
Winda looked at Iris and Merlina before she flew after Alice. Her trying to relocate the fight to a bigger area was obvious, but to tell the truth she didn't want to fight in the ruined throne room either. Besides the loser they all were together the better they could all adapt to the fight at hand.
Iris sighed. "If that's how StarEater wants to play then so be it. We have our own tricks." Iris disappear to somewhere else.
Merlina watched them leave before looking at Kavra, then ran through the hole Alice and Winda went through.
The hole would lead to a short hallway leading towards a different part of the castle. Alice ran along the left wall, passing the crater Riley was in with Maple standing over him. Alice wasn't too surprised by what was happened, her grandfather always struggled when it came to mental tests. If they were going to turn this fight around in their favor she had to stall for time. She slid to a stop being jumping to the normal floor at the end of the hallway. With her keyblade still in hand she took a defensive stance for when Winda and the others would catch up to her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Down on Riley's heart platform he also woke up there somehow. The platform was sill split in half, one for him and the other for Kurome. Riley's half had a light blue outline. It had portraits of all his wives and kids, his best friends Nazo and Shade, his parents Lana and Derio, his granddaughter Alice, and three of people he still had no idea who they were. All three of them were girls who looked to be Riley's age, and they had many similarities with him. The first one had eyes that matched his crimson eye but also had white hair, something he would soon have as well. The second had eyes that matched his bright blue eye but had orange hair and the ears of a wolf. The last had eyes that matched Riley's blue eye, and bright purple hair. There were some changes with his side of the platform; towards the edge there were spots that were blood red, and the background was faded. There were other spots of his side of the platform that seemed to be revealing a different background, but with only a few spots of it it made it impossible to figure out what it was.
Kurome's half of the platform had no portraits on it. It was mainly a background of a supernova and some planets exploding and was mostly covered in the same symbol on her and Riley's outfit. Her side had a blood red outline. The contrast between the two sides of the platforms couldn't be anymore night and day, but for how long that would last was anyone's guess. Riley slowly got up, only to find Kurome standing on her half of the platform with an evil smile. "It's not enough to simply beat you physically," she said pulling out a deck of cards. It was her very deck that Zgearia made Riley borrow a month ago; the deck that made him undefeated but in turn also made him evil whenever he used it. Of course, Kurome put back it's real trump cards right before this. As if she would ever allow him to see her deck's true power outside of being beaten by it. "You must be broken in every way possible. Physically, mentally, emotionally, and even your very soul must be broken by my bare hands!"
Riley shook his head, still processing everything that was happening. So many things were happening that he didn't have time to think about the changes to his side of the platform. All that mattered right now was passing these trials. He felt his own deck appear in his shorts and pulled it out. He quickly looked through it, seeing that everything was still there as he left it. Kurome's deck was undeniably stronger than his, but he couldn't just walk away from this. Not after what happened the last time they fought. He then looked at his past life with a look of determination. "Fine then," he said as a special table appeared before him. "Let's settle this!" He put his starting vanguard facedown and started shuffling his deck.
Kurome's smile grew bigger and became more evil as an identical special table appeared before her. "When I'm done with you, you'll never want to touch this game again," she said with a dark laugh. She put her starting vanguard face down and shuffled her deck. She drew her opening hand at the same time Riley did, smiling at one of the cards. It will be the very card that defeats him. She looked back at him. "After this you'll finally see just how worthless you are without me!" They both mulliganed cards they didn't want and reshuffled their decks. Once they were both at post-mulligan they placed their hand on their starting vanguard. It was as if they were both waiting for something. It finally came to them; the feeling from Zgearia that it was time for them to start.
"Stand up vanguard!" they both shouted as they flipped their starting vanguards face up. Smoke emerged from the special tables and surrounded them as the environment around them started to change completely. Soon they were in some ruined colosseum. It was the dead of night there, and the only light was coming from the blood moon and Kurome's signature cracks in reality. Riley and Kurome's starting vanguard glared at each other from opposite sides of the colosseum as pieces of reality fell from the cracks. Riley's was a blue and white high beast dog that held a white and blue sword in its mouth. Kurome's looked like an evil version of Riley's; being a very similar looking black and gray high beast dog.
"I'll start this show," Kurome said giving Riley a glare. "I stand and draw."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Back in the real world Zgearia had created three orbs so that she and Serena could watch all three trials at the same time. Zgearia also did this to make sure Kurome didn't take things too far. Her pure hatred for Riley always made her take things too far whenever they fought. It had been like that for all his lives. She never understood why Kurome hated him so much, but it was something that made them both stronger for better or worse. As the trials started going she took more interest in the trail involving the fallen wives. Their deaths were what kicked off these chain of events in the first place, and it would be the biggest test for Riley. But she was watching all three at the same time, every second of them were important in seeing what path Riley would choose.
Serena also paid equal attention to all three trials, but the one she was worried about most was the one with the fallen wives. She knew firsthand how bad Riley was in situations like this. It was the very reason the trial was made in the first place, but she wasn't sure how bad the lasting effects of going through something like this without her or Jen would be. He wasn't exactly in the best state of mind to begin with, if things go how they normally go he may end up going down that path again, and this time they may not be able to stop him until it's too late. But if things were ever going to change he had to go through this without her help. She just wished there was a better way of doing it.

”Tch—if only I could be shocked.” Glaring at Merlina as she froze his spell midair, Kavra readied himself as it was deflected back at him. CRRRRRASH! The ceiling above him began to cave in, only adding to the amount of projectiles coming his way. ”Don’t get my hopes up—“ Twirling his staff, Kavra leapt from the dark platform he stood on, aiming a Magnera spell that would draw in both the falling debris as well as the ice spell—causing them to collide in one large explosion in the air harmlessly. Hm? Feeling a familiar aura wash over him, Kavra’s gaze shifted to Alice, who fled on the walls from the room through the hole that Riley had been pummeled through during the chaos. Are we running, or just swapping areas? Sighing a bit, Kavra rested his long staff on his shoulders as he watched Iris chase after the girl, Merlina quick to follow after giving him one last look—which he wasn’t sure was disdain or mere annoyance.
Either way, it didn’t affect him much. ”This is more work than I thought…” Figuring this fight was far from over, the Nobody reached into their pocket as they began to calmly step and duck through the ruined wall as though there weren’t a battle happening on the other side. ”Might as well enjoy myself then.” What a joke. As if he could enjoy himself. Lighting a cigarette, Kavra kept his staff in his other hand, the long weapon shrinking down into a shorter one-handed baton. Standing in the hallway, Kavra tilted his head a bit as he witnessed Riley laying in a crater. He simply stood and enjoyed his smoke for a moment, silently watching before finally spitting out another sigh. ”You better not die before I get my heart.” As Winda and the others chased after Alice, Kavra glared at Riley from where he stood, watching with feigned aggravation as Maple stood above him. Aiming his weapon at the woman, the Nobody decided to aid the man who was guaranteeing his purpose. Alice seemed like she’d be fine on her own for a moment.
”Bioza!” A purple orb launched forth, blitzing across the hallway as the poisonous spell aimed directly for Maple! Taking another deep drag of his cigarette, the Nobody flicked the lit vice to the hallway floor, stomping it out before preparing himself in a battle stance as he glanced back to Riley, checking to see the demon's status. Or else I'll take yours... He definitely didn't think he was strong enough to take it freely, but if the demon chose to up and die on him, Kavra would make sure to reap the benefits one way or another.

Maple stood over Riley while giving him an evil smile. She was going to enjoy thrashing him about. That was until she heard Kavra from the top of the crater. "Why does my alone time with my husband always get interrupted these day?" She braced herself for his Bioza. She crossed her arms in front of her as his attack made it's mark. She slowly moved her arms out of the way and looked up at Kavra with an angry look as the poison starting taking effect. She hated when her bonding time with Riley got interrupted. "Stop getting in my way!" Maple spun her arm around before punching the side of the crater. The ground starting rumbling for a few seconds before a small earthquake happened. She was aiming to make Kavra losing his footing along with damaging him.
Riley's vision was really blurry, and his eyes were feeling really heavy. They kept getting closer and closer to closing until Riley's body started glowing with a faint golden light. Another light glowed next to his body until faded revealing a young looking woman with golden hair and matching eyes. She sat next to his body and started to lightly shake him. "You can't give up here O'Malley," she said. "You must get up." Riley slowly tilted his head to face her, he was only barely able to recognize her. "Excalibur..." He said in a low voice. Excalibur gave him a small smile before her body started glowing again. She then disappeared and Riley's body glowed for a few seconds again.
Riley coughed up blood as his vision came back and he remembered what was happening. He was still torn about having to fight his own fallen wives, but if he was ever going to obtain the power he desired so badly he was going to have to get over it. He coughed up more blood as he struggled to sit up. His head felt like it was hit by a truck, and it was as if his own body was fighting him to not move. The force of Maple's earthquake made him fall flat on his face.
A faint image of Kurome appeared at the top of the crater. She was finishing a slice of meat-lovers pizza while watching what was going on. She licked her fingers as she rolled her eyes at Riley's state. "Even after all of this you're still nothing but a pathetic waste of blood," she said in a disgusted tone. "Always doomed to be nothing more than a miserable failure." She picked her fangs with her talons before looking back down at Riley. "As much as I would love to put you out of your misery our goddess wants you to stay alive. So get up and stop wasting time."
Riley tried getting up but he ended up falling flat on his face.
Kurome wasn't taking no for an answer. Her fingertips started glowing with powerful plasma. "I said get up!" Each fingertip fired a powerful stream of Za level plasma at Riley, shocking him and badly damaging him.
Riley tried getting up again but failed once more.
"I SAID GET UP YOU WORTHLESS MANCHILD!" Kurome fired another plasmaza at Riley. "YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO GIVE UP HERE YOU HEAR ME?!" With each failure to get up Kurome attacked Riley without second thought. Each time the spell somehow seemed more powerful than the last, and Kurome's voice got louder and angrier.
Finally after many failed attempts and plasmaza spells later something inside Riley finally snapped. As another plasmaza hit him he gave out a loud roar of rage before standing straight up. He glared up at Kurome who only gave him an evil smile in return. One day he would finally surpass her, but for now he had a trial to focus on. Kurome softly laughed before disappearing back into Riley's body.
Alice knew that with her grandfather back in action it would only be a matter of time before this part of the fight was over, but she also knew that Iris was still somewhere in the castle. They would have to not spend all of their energy here if they were to survive. Still she would have to keep stalling Winda and Merlina if this was going to work.
Merlina fired a large orb of ice, not at Alice but at the ground instead. Most of the ground around them started to freeze with a thick layer of ice. Alice had no idea why she would do that, she knew that she could run perfectly fine on any surface. It wasn't until her next move did Alice realize what was going on. Merlina broke part of the frozen ground with her staff and kicked up ice shards into the air. Winda then blew a gust of wind at Alice. carrying the shards at high speeds. Alice did what she could to block the oncoming attacks, but a few of them still hit her. Both Winda and Merlina moved in the rush Alice.

Despite his spell landing its mark, the Nobody’s eyes narrowed as Maple simply crossed her arms and took the hit. What the—? Even though her form began to shine with the eerie dark purple tint of poison magic, the woman only seemed to get all the more angry. ”Stop getting in my way!” Kavra grit his teeth as he glared, moving in to rush Maple just as the woman punched at the crater formed in the hallway. CRACK! The impact popped as the ground began to shake. Grrrrrrrrrr As though a beast itself, the ground shook and trembled beneath the Nobody’s feet, causing him to lose balance and sunder to the earthquake spell, dropping to his knees.
”This heart…better be worth it!” Wincing in pain from the attack, Kavra pushed himself back up to his feet, gripping his blunt baton in one hand while the other rubbed at his shoulder. ”Or should I just take yours?!” Glaring at Maple as his baton began to shimmer with a radiant light, the man darted forward. Using his Sliding Dash ability, Kavra was a streak of black and blue as his staff began to extend in length, surrounding in the powerful light aura as he closed the distance. ”Disappear!” Unleashing his Ragnarok ability, Kavra grabbed the staff with both hands as he delivered five punishing blows, each one more powerful than the last before he would leap backwards and aim his long staff directly at Maple.
Lances of light shot forth, twisting towards the woman in a cyclone as they sought their mark. Landing on the ground, Kavra would take a battle stance before a new voice seemed to thunder. ”I SAID GET UP YOU WORTHLESS MANCHILD!” Looking back at the crater, the Nobody saw a new figure blasting bright spells at Riley. That useless demon! Were they just going to get themselves killed here?! Kavra was serious about taking that heart one way or another, after all. Just as he was about to run forward and try to swipe the demon’s heart before perishing, the Nobody was surprised to see Riley stand back up in the crater, a new determination shining in their eyes.
”Hmph.” Giving the demon a mild scowl, Kavra simply sighed and shook his head. ”You better get your act together, if you want to keep your own heart.” The Nobody wore an expressionless face as he readied himself in a battle position once more, finally turning his attention back to Maple.

Riley was badly damaged from Kurome's plasmazas, but he was more focused on getting this trial over with. He did not come this far just to die here. His desire to get more power would not be stopped by a simple trial. Anger boiled in his eyes as he glared at Maple.
Maple was getting sick of this Nobody getting in the way of her dealing with her husband. When Kavra dashed at her she braced herself with her gauntlets. She matched his staff blow for blow for the first three hits, but due to the poison she wasn't able to block the next two causing her to be sent back a few feet. When he jumped backwards Maple recognized the starting parts of a Ragnarok attack from the times her husband used it, so she was prepared to defend against it. Maple's body swirled with wind magic as powerful winds surrounded her. "Aeroga!" The whirlwind sent the beams of light in random directions all around the crater and room. She didn't stop there; she started rapidly punching the ground in front of her. This caused pointed stones to come out of the ground and fly up into the air, with the whirlwind sending them out in all directions. She didn't stop there, she starting punching as many as she could to send them flying towards Kavra.
Just as Maple was about to prepare another counterattack she was suddening sent flying by Riley who charged into her, fighting against the whirlwind as he tackled her into the wall of the crater creating a hole in it. Riley jumped back from the hole just before Maple fell forward, but she caught herself before she fell face first onto the ground. Riley was about to attack her again when Maple looked up at him, blood and tears running down her face. "Riley... how could you?" She asked sobbing.
Riley's eyes changed to be innocent again as he looked at her in shock. "Maple I didn't mean to-"
Riley was interrupted when Maple used her Aerora Dash to push wind behind her, giving her a massive boost in speed. She rocketed forward, crashing into Riley while punching him extremely hard five times with the last one sending him crashing into the wall behind him. "You always were easy to trick," She laughed.
As Riley crashed into the wall he created a hole in it. He fell forward as some rubble fell on top of him. His eyes opened to look dead at Maple, who was still laughing at him. He knew his goddess told him this was supposed to test his biggest weaknesses, but he wasn't prepared for this. But it made sense when he thought about it. He was about to go after people who used to be very close to him, and in order to achieve the power he was after he would have to ignore the feelings in his heart. He would not let such a flaw prevent him from reaching his goal! He stood up once more and roared a deeper roar than before. His eyes changed to be the mark of his family; where it was supposed to be white it turned jet black, and his pupils turned dark gold. His aura also changed to be a lot darker.
Maple saw the change in her husband and braced herself for whatever was coming next. She knew from experience that whenever his eyes got that way there was no reaching him without a hard fight. Using his emotions against him weren't going to work anymore so now she had to face him head on. She also knew that with him like this it would take all her attention to try to deal with him. "Winda deal with the Nobody!" she yelled. "Our husband seems to have found his second wind."
Winda was still flying supporting Merlina's fight with Alice. But one look at her husband's aura gave her all the proof she needed that she would have change course. She gave one last look to Merlina and Alice before she flew off to the other fight. She quickly looked over the situation before deciding what the best move was. If she could distract Kavra long enough Maple could most likely keep her fight against Riley in the crater they made. But first she would have to wall them off from the other two fights. Winda summoned her sword before she swooped down to the ground. "Geo Impact!" She slammed her sword on the ground. The ground rumbled a diamond hard spikes started to erupt from it going in a straight line towards Kavra. As that was happening Winda flew back up to maintain her aerial advantage.
Merlina quickly watched Winda fly to the other fight before turning her attention back to Alice. Merlina decided to take things to the next level as Alice fended off the last few ice shards. She tapped her staff on the ground again, but this time an intense heat filled the room as three fiery appeared around her. "Raging Storm!" She kept two of them by her sides and the last one behind her. She started advancing quickly towards Alice.
Alice manged to deflect most of the ice shards, but she wasn't prepared for what Merlina did next. "Give me a break..." She had to act fast if she wanted to keep up with the others. With the little time she had she formed a barrier of reflect magic around her to brace herself for Merlina's attack. Soon she would do more but first she had to wait for everyone's next move. Then she would know if the time was right to use what she had been hiding. They did still have to fight Iris after this after all.

While Maple’s wind spell activated, Kavra grit his teeth in annoyance as he leapt backwards, twirling his staff in front of him for protection as the rays of light blasted in all directions—destroying random sections of the hallway further. This won’t be over anytime soon… With a sigh, the Nobody feigned disappointment and annoyance as Maple’s counterattack began. CRACK! SNAP! Clanging off of the orichalcum rod, countless bits of rubble and sharp stones torrented towards him as Kavra continued to twirl his staff to hit away what he could. Leaping into the air with his High Jump while doing so, the Nobody soon hovered slightly above in the air, a dark platform beneath him wherever he leapt, disappearing from the previous area as he jumped and weaved to avoid the worst of the damage. Despite his agility, Kavra was littered with minor scratches and other wounds due to the sheer amount of projectiles that had come his way. ”Such a chore…” Grumbling to himself, the Nobody’s feet glowed with a dark aura as he leapt and stood on the wall of the hallway, to gain some space for a moment. CRASH! Just as he landed, Kavra heard a sickening crash as Riley returned to the fray, tackling Maple completely as they began to fight her head on.
About time… Just when the Nobody thought the demon was pulling their weight, Maple’s feint worked too perfectly, allowing her to retaliate and send Riley SLAMMING! through a section of the wall opposite to where Kavra stood. ”You’re kidding, right?” Sighing a bit, he placed his face into his palm while shaking his head. A little tears and that was all it took to catch Riley off their guard? ”Winda, deal with the Nobody!” Jolting back to attention, Kavra heard Maple’s order as he saw an odd aura through the hole that Riley had been sent through. Winda? Whipping his head around, Kavra was able to notice just in time as the other woman suddenly came swooping down to the ground below him. ”Geo Impact!” Despite being on the wall, the Nobody was impressed to see that her attack ramped up it, splintering it into sections of jagged rock and stone as it came racing vertically towards him! ”Hmph. You lot and stones…” Were they just going to keep throwing rocks at him?
Leaping from the wall and over Winda’s head, Kavra would land behind the woman, aiming to sweep his long staff out and slam her off of her feet. Following the attack, the Nobody would twirl the staff into the air as a dark aura began to surround them. Casting a Dark Graviga spell, Kavra aimed to have knocked Winda off her feet and keep her on the ground, on top of hurting her with the sheer darkness that accompanied the spell. If it worked, the Nobody's staff would glow with an odd grey hue as Twilight energy consumed it. Leaping back into the air, Kavra unleashed his Twilight Storm ability, slamming his staff end-first as it erupted with the power, large beams of twilight energy erupting from the ground throughout the area—aimed to pummel the hopefully defenseless target into submission!

Maple stared down her husband as the real fight was about to begin. Judging by how much the power of his base form increased it was going to take everything she had to take him on. Even if he was going to fight Iris after this she would at least give him a decent fight. Her body began to glow with pure energy as she focused. Her muscle mass started to increase and her power began to rise. A powerful gust emitted from her As the aura of energy around her exploded. The dust quickly settled revealing that she'd transform to her Super Maple form. The blue of her clothes had turned red and the gold parts now glowed. The white of her boots glowed and the heels gained Pegasus wings. In addition to this, her red hair and eyes were brighter. Her gauntlets reappeared on her and were now matching her new color scheme.
Riley was surprised that maple would transform so soon, but given his dramatic power up from how he was a few days ago, let alone the last time they fought, he guessed it made sense. his arms and legs glowed as he summoned his Void Gauntlets. The buzzsaws on the greaves spun for a bit tearing apart some of the ground, or what was left of it. Maple had always been physically stronger than him, he didn't doubt his own strength but with her in this form he should be able to match her with the boost his Void Gantlets gave him. He thought about boosting his power even further with Psy but decided against it, he might need it for later after all. He then remembered that Kavra was fighting Winda and while he was probably physically stronger than her he knew his second wife well enough to know she must have already thought of the perfect plan to defeat him. Riley's eyes glowed with Psy before Kavra's body began to glow with the aura of blue and black energy again.
Riley then thought about Alice's fight with Merlina. Alice's power was now comparable to his own, so she should be able to keep up with Merlina despite the power Merlina was hiding. If Merlina used her true power Alice would be given some trouble, but Riley decided against helping her for now. He couldn't fight everyone's battles, and he could tell that Alice was also hiding something in her. Somehow someway Riley knew what it was without realizing it, and he had a feeling it wouldn't stay hidden for too much longer.
Back to the fight at hand Maple and Riley dashed at each other with such speed they both seemed to disappear. They both appeared for an instant, with Maple punching Riley before they both disappeared again. They appeared again, this time With Riley slashing Maple with his talons with a boost from the thrusters on his gauntlets. They kept disappearing and reappearing for only an instant, each time with someone else having an upper hand over the other. Loud booms could be heard every time they clashed even when they couldn't be seen. Cracks formed in the ground beneath them and the crater got a little bigger with each clash. Eventually they both reappeared again, this time in the very center of the crater.
They were both deadlocked with their fingers locked with each other's, tough Maple was worse off since Riley's talons were digging into her. They both tried to push the other one back as more cracks began to form in the ground and lightning somehow sparked around them from the sheer power they were both emitting. Maple began to headbutt Riley to try to get the upper hand but that was met with him doing the same. Riley then slashed her side with his tail, which was comparable to a Keyblade's slash. Maple endured the hits from his tail as she refused to give him an inch.
It seemed like this would go on forever until Riley's mouth began to glow orange and red as molten magma formed in his mouth. Maple could only widen her eyes in surprise before Riley fired a magma Hyper Blast at her from point black from his mouth. The wide beam of magma hit her dead on, sending her flying backwards and crashing into the wall of the crater behind her. Riley roared as he gave chase, knowing better than to give her an inch in a fight like this.
Winda simply stayed in the air floating over Kavra's staff, keeping her advantage of being able to fly and float freely due to being a Gale. That didn't help when he used his Dark Graviga spell to bring her back down to earth. Winda was skilled enough to still land on her feet despite the crushing force of the spell keeping her grounded, and taking damage from the dark magic added to it. Before she could even react to what was just starting to happen between Riley and Maple Kavra used his Twilight Storm, summoning large beams of twilight around the area. Judging from the power coming from the beams Winda quickly figured out that this must be one of his stronger abilities. If she could endure this then she would be able to gain the upper hand against him. While she wasn't able to try to dodge and weave her way through the beams due to the Dark Graviga there was another course of action she could take. While it would cause the fight to become neutral for a moment it would give her more than enough time to assess the fight at hand and come up with a way for them to win.
Winda's hand began to glow as she cast Reflega on herself, creating a barrier of reflect magic around her to protect her from the beams and any other attack the Nobody would try to use on her. While the barrier was up Winda quickly looked around to see all that was going on. She was just in time to see Maple transform into Super maple before the battle between her and their husband started to get serious. She then saw Alice try to avoid Merlina's raging storm as their fight went to the next level. Winda turned her attention back to Maple just as she was sent flying back with Riley's Hyper Blast. Her eyes then instantly went back to Kavra, who was now cloaked in Riley's Psy Aura. In the back of Winda's mind a clock started ticking as she was keeping track of how long that aura would last on him.
Winda then instantly reveiwed how the battle was going for everyone. Despite still being in his base form her Husband put Maple on the backfoot, Alice and Merlina were currently at a stalemate, and the battle between her and the Nobody just became neutral. She could try to help Maple directly, but that would leave her vulnerable to any attack once the barrier ended. She would have Merlina use her secret power to try to force Alice to do the same, but she knew that was too much of a wild card to try so soon. She then decided on the best course of action.
Winda dismissed her staff and in exchange summoned her Sword and took a defensive stance while staring down Kavra. As her barrier faded away she was still keeping track of how long that aura would stay on him. She would instantly react to whatever his next move his, as well as enact her plan.
Merlina continued her advance against Alice as the three tornadoes of fire spun around her, keeping her safe from any attack while at the same time threatening to damage Alice. She somewhat noticed what was going on between Maple and their husband, but she knew that she needed to stay focused if she wanted to keep her advantage against Alice.
Alice decided against transforming right away, it was something she wanted to hold onto until the the stage of this trial, but she needed something to get her out of the situation she was currently in or else they might not make it to that point. She decided to retreat for now and try to wait out the time until Merlina's raging storm would wear off. She looked to the ceiling and suddenly appeared there with her Instantaneous Movement that her grandfather taught her. She then began to run along the ceiling back towards where Maple and Riley were fighting.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Down on Riley's heart platform his game vs Kurome was still raging on. Riley's main card was now a heroic knight in white armor, and behind him was a dog holding a white sword in it's mouth. Riley looked at the cards in his hand, planning ahead and thinking about what cards he knew were in his original self's deck. Despite everything he had gone through the past month playing against her in a card game was going to be the hardest challenge yet. She was always stronger than him, always better at him at everything possible, somehow always twenty steps ahead of him, and the one everyone took more seriously.
"Are you done day dreaming? Because I would like to take my turn sometime this century," Kurome scolded
Riley shook his head and looked at her. "Sorry... I end my turn."
Kurome drew her card for turn and looked at her hand. Everything was shaping up perfectly, she could already see how she would defeat him despite it only being her second turn. She looked at her other self right in his eyes as her eyes started glowing with Psy. "So you want to finally match me?" She asked. "Allow me to show you the difference in power between us" A card in her hand started glowing with psy as she took it and placed it on the vanguard circle. black and blue energy started to form around her main card. After being engulfed in it a shadowy figure could be seen within it. A black sword with blue accents appeared as the figure slashed through the energy, revealing himself to be a knight in black armor. He was a mirror image of the card Kurome knew Riley would ride next turn.
Riley tensed as Kurome rode up. He couldn't explain why, but he felt like something extremely bad was about to happen. Like something that should be impossible was going to happen. Kurome always rode this card, so why was he feeling this way? He could only brace himself as Kurome continued her turn.
Kurome's field was the knight she just rode, plus two elven witches with crystalized skulls in their hands. A normal field for her deck usually, but with the cards she put back in things were about to get a lot more interesting. She smiled at Riley. "I'll use Skull Witch, Nemain's effect to call a card from my deck with 5000 power.." She picked up her deck and looked through it for one specific card and smiled as she finally found it. A white circle appeared beside the knight as Kurome called another elven witch, this time one with purple hair and a staff. The surprise in Riley's eyes at the new card was only to get better as Kurome went ahead to use her effect. She soul blasted a card out and retired the new witch. "With Freezing Witch, Bendi's effect by soul blasting one and retiring her while my vanguard is Blaster Dark I can ride a Phantom Blaster Dragon from deck!"
"You can WHAT!?"
Kurome's eyes glowed brighter as she began to cackle at Riley's shocked response. The Top card of her deck began to glow, then one by one the glow went down card by card until it found the desired card and shot it out. Kurome card it between her fingers and looked at Riley with an evil smile as the card began to glow with Psy. "Witness the cursed dragon of despair as his appearance marks the beginning of the end for you! This game will end when the Abyss Dragon's lance dances a third time! Ride Phantom Blaster Dragon!" Kurome slammed the card down on the vanguard circle.
The dark knight held his head and began screaming in pain as he was suddenly lifted up into the air as his body was engulfed in a vortex of red and black energy. The shadow of a dragon soon appeared inside the vortex before the energy burst to reveal the Abyss Dragon as he let out a large roar before grabbing his lance out of the air. Just like that Kurome rode a grade 3 while Riley was still at grade 1. The dragon stared down the knight that was on Riley's side of the colosseum as the cracks in reality around the area began to get bigger. More cracks in reality appeared as Kurome began to laugh again. "What's the matter Riley? Are you really that amazed at what my deck is capable of when it's in my hands? There is one piece of good news for you; I can't use any of his abilities during the turn he is rode this way so I guess you get off with a light punishment this time." Kurome wouldn't let him be relieved for too long as she begun her attack. The Elven witch behind the Abyss dragon lit up her crystal skull with purple lightning as she boosted the dragon's power with her own before the dragon raised his lace to attack the knight.
Riley looked at his hand and quickly tried to see if he should guard the attack. Going over what he had in his hand, and the fact it was still only Kurome's second turn he decided against it. He still needed the resources to play out his own turns. On top of that there was still Kurome's other turns to take into account. "I don't guard."
Kurome laughed again as she drove check two critical triggers, increasing the amount of damage she would deal by two. Riley would only roll his eyes at that because of course she would. the dragon stabbed the knight with his lance three times to represent the three damage that he just dealt to Riley. the knight was sent flying back into the wall of the colosseum as Riley took the three damage.
With the three fresh cards in his damage zone Riley didn't like his chances of winning this game. He looked back at his hand as he drew for his turn. He then looked back at the dragon that was staring him down. Could he truly win this with Kurome getting so far ahead in a single turn? he would just have to keep playing to find out.
Kavra clicked his tongue in annoyance at Winda’s ability to float, easily avoiding the initial sweep of his staff. Then again, the Nobody was more than used to the cruel unfairness of life—both in his main life and the next. Thankfully his Dark Graviga was his saving grace, pinning down the damnable woman while he unleashed his storm. Well, she certainly isn’t boring… Having tossed up a Reflect spell, Winda was able to avoid the havoc Kavra’s Twilight Storm had caused, the pillars rupturing and destroying most of the hall battlefield around them.
”What…?!” It was then that the Nobody felt a surge of power as an unknown aura began to surround itself to him. It was then that Winda dismissed her staff for a sword, causing Kavra to sigh and shake his head. Even if she’s fortified for offense, a sword can never beat a spear. The Nobody’s skill with the staff he held was one honed both as a Somebody and thereafter. Despite the lack of heart causing him to feel no emotions, Kavra momentarily felt the vague nostalgic sense of cockiness he once held as a Somebody.
Then again, it had been that very cockiness that had been his original undoing. Detached from such old emotions, Kavra calmed himself once more, watching Winda with a careful gaze as the woman prepared a defensive stance. At least that barrier’s gone. It was only one less hassle out of the way, though it was clear this battle would still be a chore. ”Guess there’s no choice.” With a sigh, the Nobody grabbed their staff and twirled it once more, though this time it shimmered in dark energy as it grew in length.
On each end formed large bladed Nobody symbols, creating a double sided halberd. It was a weapon transformation Kavra only used in tight spots or when he knew it’d give him the advantage. That being said, the woman before him had neutralized one of his most powerful attacks—resetting the match. It was all so annoying. ”Why don’t you just disappear?!” Yelling out in mock frustration, Kavra made his move. Using his Dark Step ability combined with his High Jump, the Nobody leapt into the air before zig-zagging directly towards Winda!
Swish! Shoom! Slash! In quick succession, Kavra began to pummel out combos with his long bladed pole-arm, striking in large sweeping motions before lancing fast stabs out towards her. Knowing his capabilities were stronger with magic than physical strength, Kavra’s weapon began to glow with a sinister dark purple energy as he finished his combo. Unleashing his Gravity Break, the Nobody’s last attack would come down in a powerful sweep that added magical gravity pressure.
Hopefully it’d be enough to break through Winda’s guard and work on causing the woman’s floating abilities to stay tempered!
