Henoke chuckled at Mei’s comment at being more prone to indoor crafts and activities. It was opposite to his own interests, but in a refreshing kind of way. Neku’s declining of wanting to join them merely brought a shrug to Henoke, who continued to go hard at work with making the charms. ”Something’s bothering you again, huh?” Hearing Mei ask her question to the young merc, the teen perked his head up. He’s upset? Henoke hadn’t even noticed, not sensing anything deeper than the surface. He wasn’t too insightful, in that regard, only being able to pick up on more obvious cues when it came to reading someone’s mood—especially if it was a newer person he didn’t know too well yet. Hearing how Neku was mostly in a downed mood thanks to losing to Tori, Henoke couldn’t help but stifle a chuckle—understanding all too well how it felt to lose. He wasn’t too into leaving things at a loss, either.
Making himself comfortable, Neku sprawled out on their own towel under the shade, apparently only somewhat soothed by Mei’s reassurances. ”You sure you don’t wanna join?” It seemed Neku really wasn’t the crafty type—not that Henoke was used to doing this sort of thing, either. The teen’s only saving grace was that he was comfortable and confident with his hands—having built up some skilled dexterity thanks to all the years of training. Despite the built up skill, he still found moments of forming the charms difficult, moreso with the sections that needed more intermediate levels of finesse. ”Tch—damn, this is trickier than I thought…” Furrowing his brow, Henoke refused to be defeated by such a small object. That, and he really wanted to make sure he and Yuto had some souvenirs of their time here. ”Hey, if we got enough shells left over, we should make some charms for all of you, too.”
The idea struck him as he thought it aloud. Glancing over at Mei and Neku, he found himself somewhat embarrassed and sheepish at having shared the sentiment. ”Er—y’know, so you guys and Tori have something to remember it by, too.” Now that he mentioned it, it sounded almost a little lame, seeing as how the three of them could always come back here. Scratching at the back of his head, Henoke had a faint red hue to his cheeks, going back to focusing on making the charms.

“C’mon, then —I’ll show you a bit. We need to go a bit deeper, though.” The comment didn't faze Yuto, if anything he was interested in what could be deep in the ocean to warrant going so far out. He followed a bit behind Tori, as to not risk passing her by, and stopped just next to her. The man watched as she smirked and dove under the water.
He followed behind almost immediately, the clarity of the water making it easy to keep her in sight as they delved deeper into the water. The growing pressure was a new feeling for him, considering the last time he was deep in an ocean it wasn't exactly water. 'This's gotta be some spot for someone to want to go this deep.' The further they went down, he noticed that it was also getting darker. Just to be safe, Yuto lit his eyes up to make sure Tori didn't lose him. If she were to look back and see him, he would give a thumbs up to show that everything was ok. He wasn't concerned about losing the teen in the dark, as he was used to looking for things in dark palces.

All the while Henoke was struggling with the more intricate details of charm crafting, Mei made it so she could guide him properly without it breaking apart, while she still worked on her own. Neku kept glancing every now and then at their crafting, still with a hint of jealousy and waiting for his opportunity.
“We should make some charms for all of you, too.” Mei perked up after Henoke mentioned making charms for the trio so nonchalantly, blinking a bit in shock, while Neku propped himself with the help of his elbows to give the orange-haired boy an amused look. After a while, Henoke fumbled, dismissing his thought and resuming his charms, but it was a bit too late already. Mei giggled after a while, her hand slightly cupped over her lips in order to muffle it.
“You’re an odd one, Henoke…” Neku teased, smirking. “But it’s not a bad idea, is it?” Mei asked back, smiling, “It’d be a nice reminder, don’t you think?” “Well… I don’t mind if I don’t get one…” “You’d just get something else, though!” “…Oh?” Neku smirked, sitting up straight as he found his chance to tease his friend, “Mind tellin’ me what that’d be?” “Hmm…” Mei pondered a bit, placing a finger over her lips, “…A date!” “Keh—”
Neku flinched, not expecting at all what Mei had just said. Her bubbly demeanor was getting out of hand —mostly because of how much fun she was having. She giggled a bit after seeing Neku’s face turn to a full red, caught off-guard by his girlfriend’s sudden suggestion.
That was not supposed to happen!
Mei resumed to her crafting, but Neku was not having it just yet. He jumped towards Mei, wrapping his arms around her and catching her off-guard. He hid his face in her hair, trying to muffle his mumbling while he was embarrassed to no end. Mei was also flustered, caught off-guard by Neku’s sudden action.
“H-Hey, Neku…!” Mei pouted.
In the meantime, Tori had stopped her dive, turning around to meet Yuto, whose eyes were golden and bright. She imitated the gesture for a chuckle, before she swam back up in order to catch her breath. She shook her head as soon as her head broke through the water, taking a deep breath while keeping herself afloat. Tori then glanced over to where Yuto would surface, smiling.
“Seriously —you’ve got pretty good control over those powers” she complimented, “You’re practically a master of the craft.”

”You’re an odd one, Henoke…” The teen merely gave Neku an indignant look as he continued on the charms. He was kicking himself for mentioning such a sappy idea. What had come over him? ”But it’s not a bad idea, is it?” Mei was always playing a supportive role—something that he found himself annoyed at having to rely on. Hearing her comment on giving Neku a different memory in place of a charm, Henoke couldn’t help but burst out with a laugh after seeing the look on the young merc’s face. It was the perfect timing, considering how he had just been teased by him. ”Heh—serves ya right!” Continuing his crafting, Henoke chuckled and shook his head, still in good spirits.
”H-Hey, Neku…!” Mei’s surprised exclamation brought his eyes back up—immediately causing him to lean away from the two while mocking a grossed-out look. ”Get a room, you guys!” Throwing out his tease with an impish grin, Henoke leapt to his feet before rushing off, laughing at his jab all the while. ”We can pick this up later!” Without looking back, he waved a hand as he fled from the resting area. Truthfully, he found it a little uncomfortable to be around these two when they were acting like this—feeling like he was an intruding third party. He didn’t really understand any of that ‘romance’ stuff…seeing as how most of his life had been spent in a mostly isolated town or filled with Heartless.
Reaching the shore, the teen saw a pile of oysters, neatly stacked and away from the tide. ”Oh yeah…Neku mentioned somethin’ about pearls…” Kneeling down next to the pile, it was only then that Henoke noticed Tori and Yuto in the water. Giving the two a grin and a wave, he cupped a hand to his mouth in order for them to hear him. ”Hey! Y’all find anything good?” Resting a hand on his hips, he shielded his eyes from the now midday sun with his other hand as he gazed out at them. Though he wasn’t a big fan of water—he was curious about what his friends had been up to during their time in it.

“Seriously —you’ve got pretty good control over those powers. You’re practically a master of the craft.” Yuto stifled a laugh. He didn't consider himself a master or anything even better than a novice. "You're kind, really. But I'm far from a master. I just happened to find a teacher." He tapped his chin in thought. "That...and being launched into a sea of pure darkness, I guess. Multiple times." The latter comment was played for humor, but it was the reason he had the skills he did in general.
”Hey! Y’all find anything good?” The man turned to see Henoke standing at the shore. At least, he assumed it was Henoke. He cupped his hands around his mouth and called back. "Not yet! Place goes pretty deep." He turned back to Tori with a quizzical look. "Speaking of, how far down is what we're going to? Water was starting to get heavy." He didn't mind the pressure too much, but he didn't want to find out what his body would auto-pilot if it felt like it was in danger. The last thing he needed, or wanted, was for his skills to get out of hand again. He shook the thought off, determined to keep his mood light and happy.

”Get a room, you guys!”
Mei’s face grew red at Henoke’s implication, left defenseless as he bailed out of that uncomfortable situation, while Neku clutched his embrace closer, much for the girl’s dismay. Still hiding himself in her hair, the boy smiled a bit, finally finding the chance he’d wanted for a while now.
“You scared him off!” Mei berated him, pouting. “Serves ‘im right —he was intrudin’” Neku snickered. “That’s mean!”
Neku laughed a bit, softly, yet his face still red with embarrassment, all the while Mei looked back at him with a pout. She was quick to let it go after a while, yet her bitterness, although soft, was still present. The boy couldn’t blame her, though, given how back-and-forth the interactions were.
“I swear —you’re a kid sometimes…” Mei berated him once more. “Well… I’ve got a right to be selfish from time to time, right?” “Haa… Really, now…”
Tori glanced over as Henoke shouted their way, smiling. Her exchange with Yuto had her in a good mood, and the suggestion of going even deeper was amusing, but not possible. Still keeping herself afloat, she shook her head.
“We don’t need to arrive somewhere —we’re just checking out, right?” Tori mentioned back, “Although… If we are going for another round…”
With an impish grin, she swam her way towards Henoke, not really expecting Yuto to follow (although if he didn, she wouldn’t blame him). Once her feet could keep her up standing, she walked towards him, soaked from head to toe, but refresh in a way. She leaned a bit after seeing Neku and Mei’s interaction, something she could only chuckle at while glancing over at Henoke.
“Caught yourself in a lover’s quarrel?” she teased, but quickly dismissed it, “C’mon —wanna go for a dive with me and Yuto? There’s plenty of stuff to see underwater, y’know? This isn’t something you really need to be competitive at —it’s just for fun.”
“Although… If you want me to teach you how to swim, I wouldn’t mind it. We're here to have fun, remember?”

”Not yet!” It seemed other than the oysters, they hadn’t done enough diving to warrant a haul. As Tori swam over to greet him, Henoke rested his hands behind his head, rocking back and forth on his heels under the sun. ”Caught yourself in a lover’s quarrel?” Henoke smirked in response to her jab, giving a shrug. ”C’mon—wanna go for a dive with me and Yuto?” Grimacing a bit, Henoke’s eyes lingered over the ocean for a moment. He had been diving once with Tori, though that was kind of a spur of the moment rarity…they had been going through a lot of stuff back then, after all. ”Although…if you want me to teach you how to swim, I wouldn’t mind it.” Tori’s comment caused Henoke to stagger a bit, glancing over his shoulder towards Neku and Mei. He had filled in Yuto—but there was no way he was admitting anything to either of them yet.
”Tch—no way! 'Specially not where Neku can see!” Knowing his and the young mercenary’s dynamic, he’d be in for endless jabs for the remainder of their trip for sure (not that he minded their dynamic, it was fun because of that aspect). Henoke was prideful to a fault—there was no way he’d be able to handle that. Sighing a bit, he rested a hand on his hip as the other scratched at the back of his head. ”Maybe later…if they actually go an’ get a room.” Snickering a bit at his last comment, an idea came to him. ”How ‘bout we meet in the middle?” Grinning a bit, the teen pointed back towards the lounge area where Neku and Mei were—specifically at the colorful beach ball still over there. ”How ‘bout the three of us play? We can be in the water—but I’m not goin’ past my waist!”
Though his indignation was apparent, Henoke kept his voice somewhat low, making sure Neku and Mei wouldn’t overhear the conversation. Waiting for Tori’s response (as well as Yuto’s, if he had swam over as well), Henoke grinned with anticipation. He wanted to get better at that ‘beach volley’ game—having a secret yearning to beat at least SOMEONE at the game before the end of their beach day. He was competitive to a fault at times, too.

Yuto followed a little ways behind Tori, choosing to float for a bit before making his way back to shore. He arrived just as Tori offered to teach Henoke how to swim. ”Tch—no way! 'Specially not where Neku can see!” Yuto shook his head and smiled warmly, he could understand not wanting to share something like Henoke's inability to swim. It was about pride, and judging by the group dynamic it would be a point of teasing.
”How ‘bout the three of us play? We can be in the water—but I’m not goin’ past my waist!” He looked to where Henoke was pointing, seeing the bright colored ball still on the shore. "I got no problem with that. You Tori?" If everyone was in agreement, the man would go grab the ball. The game was pretty fun, and being in water meant that there would be an added challenge. It was an interesting angle that Yuto would like to experience.
The man thought for a second, his want to push the envelope and see how far he could take things leading his train of thought. "How 'bout a friendly wager?" He looked over to Henoke, hoping the teen would agree. "If Tori or I beat you...hmm.." As per usual, Yuto started a statement without thinking it through. "Ah! If Tori or I win, you have to let us teach you how to swim. Regaurdless if there's an audience or not." The man put his hands on his hips as he thought of what Henoke would get if he won, aside from the joy of winning and not having to embarrass himself. "Erm...What should we give him if he wins Tori? I'm kinda at a loss here." As usual, his leap first mentality left him with the short stick.

Seeing Henoke’s prideful expression, Tori laughed aloud. Not loud enough for the two lovebirds behind to hear, but loud nonetheless. It was funny, really, to see how stubborn Henoke was when it came to things he was either not fond of, or simply didn’t want to try. His later comment about Neku and Mei going and getting themselves a room was yet another laughing chance, although this time she couldn’t avoid it.
“They will, that’s a guarantee” she snickered back, “Trust me —Neku’ll swipe in as soon as the chance shows up. Just let those two be, really.”
His suggestion for a game of beach volley, but this time amidst the ocean waves, was tempting. Tori was about to agree when Yuto jumped in, suggesting that maybe there should be an incentive for each party. “If Tori or I win, you have to let us teach you how to swim. Regaurdless if there's an audience or not." The suggestion immediately caught her attention, as Tori drew an amused smirk, silently complementing Yuto’s outlook. Still, it wouldn’t be fair if it was one-sided, thing that Yuto had pointed out. Tori pondered, placing her finger on her lips as she looked up to the sky.
What could they offer Henoke, if he were to win? An idea quickly flashed her mind. Although somewhat childish, it was the only thing she could think of, that Henoke would 100% agree on. Or at least, partially.
“Well… If Henoke wins, then…” Tori smiled, glancing between Yuto and Henoke as she placed her condition, “I’ll pay for his meals —for as long as he’s here. Regardless of what it is, I’ll pay for it” she snickered, glancing over at Henoke, “Which means you can basically have an all-you-can-eat buffet coming from my wallet… Unless you have something else in mind?”
It was still a 1 versus 2 scenario —Tori and Yuto had a motivation to win against Henoke, and he’d have one back. It was clear, however, that Henoke would notice that fact, and Tori was ready to hear him retaliate.
In all honesty, though, she wouldn’t mind playing referee, if it came to it. If she were to play, then things would probably go a bit too much for one side.

”They will, that’s a guarantee.” Henoke shook his head, a clearly disinterested look on his face at the mention of that. Hearing that Yuto was down to play, the teen pumped a fist, readying himself to run off and grab the ball before hearing the bet. Pausing in his tracks, Henoke eyed Yuto with suspicion for a moment as he crossed his arms, not finding much benefit in the ‘bet’ for him. ”Well…if Henoke wins, then…” Tori seemed to be having the same idea—realizing that he’d need some sort of incentive to take such a deal—not that he doubt his capabilities of course. In Henoke’s opinion, the game was as good as his. ”I’ll pay for his meals—for as long as he’s here.” A devious look came over his face as he heard Tori’s bargain—his eyes glinting a bit at the mention of ‘all-you-can-eat’.
”F’real?” Raising an eyebrow and tilting his head a bit while giving Tori a suspicious look, he took a moment to think it over. ”Alright! You’re on!” A wide and confidant grin had spread across his face as he nodded, offering out a hand to shake on it. After agreeing and settling that, Henoke would rush across the sand, back to where the parasol and towels were. Ignoring Neku and Mei—who were still most likely being a gushy couple—the teen made fast work of grabbing the colorful beach ball after throwing his t-shirt onto his towel. Rushing back to the shoreline, Henoke splashed! into the water loudly, kicking it up with his feet as he rushed in to about his half-calf. ”Let’s do this!” Waiting for Tori and Yuto to take their positions, the teen had a devious smile on his face as he readied his serve.
”Annnnnnnd—“ Suddenly, he leapt up out of the water completely, reeling his arm back as he threw the ball high above his head. ”GO!” An incredibly loud SMACK! echoed throughout the air as though thunder as Henoke spiked the ball with all his might—rocketing it with impressive speed and at a diagonal angle to try and throw Tori off! Giving the girl a cocky smirk as he landed back in the water, creating another large splash, Henoke readied himself in a stance while he waited to see how Tori would fair against his spike. Yuto and Neku had already seen it in motion—but he didn’t think she had yet. Hopefully it would let him start strong!

Yuto smirked at Henoke's readiness to accept the terms of the bet. 'Man likes his food. I can respect that.' The man smiled at the thought. It was fun to see the teen try his hardest in something as innocuous as a simple game of beach volley. The man decided to give his all too, thinking that any added advantage given by his other skills would be strictly off-limits.
He took his position a bit away from Tori, making sure he was ready for anything the teen threw at him. However, the one thing he wasn't expecting was Henoke to send a spike to Tori right off the bat. Yuto knew what to expect from the teen after having spent time playing against him in the last beach volley game, however, he didn't think that Henoke would lob a full-powered spike towards Tori. All Yuto could really do at his distance was watch and hope Tori could handle the ball coming her way.

Confident after hearing that her offer had been taken, Tori smirked, her arms crossed while she looked at Henoke as he went to go pick the beach ball. Neku and Mei hadn’t moved much, although it wasn’t like Henoke would notice, seeing how eager he was in winning the game.
Tori took her position in the water, feeling the adrenaline rush that meant betting. By any means, she wanted to win —prove her point and all that. Henoke’s spike did catch her off-guard, but she was more than able to respond it. Throwing herself in order to catch the ball and bounce it back to Yuto, Tori used one of her forearms to receive the spike, the angle being a generous one for Yuto to spike it back to Henoke.
“To you!” Tori cheered, glancing over at the darkness-user with glee.
Splash! Tori had thrown herself in order to receive the ball and ended up almost completely soaked yet again, but she didn’t mind it. She was quick to stand up, eager to see the results of their game. Given that both Yuto and she had an incentive to force Henoke into the water, she wasn’t letting the opportunity slide!
On their end, the pair of lovebirds glanced over as the game began, Mei looking with interest after seeing how Henoke had gone to pick the ball. Neku, his arms still wrapped around Mei’s chest and neck, peeked a bit at the beach volley match, smirking.
“Well… He got over it quick, didn’t he…?” he teased, the comment aimed at Henoke. “I still think that the way you acted wasn’t the right one…” Mei sighed, berating Neku. “C’mon…”
It didn’t take long before Neku suggested going elsewhere —not too far from where they were, Mei agreeing to it with a giggle, mentioning how childish Neku was acting. They stood up and left, although not permanently, as they would go back and join the others once they had some time for themselves.
In a way, Neku had taken Henoke’s advice to heart —“getting a room” for both of them to not bother the rest while they made their competition clear.

Though he had started confident, Henoke couldn’t help but grimace as his feet sank slightly into the mushy sand bottom of the ocean floor. This might be more annoyin' than I thought… Sure, it was easy enough to jump (so long as he used some extra force), but running was a whole different story. ”Tch—why did I suggest this part?” He glanced down at the water around his calves, wondering why he had shot himself in the foot like this. ”To you!” Tori’s shout brought him back to attention, snapping his head back up as he kept his stance, his golden eyes locked to the ball.
Aimed at Yuto, Tori had managed to save the spike and keep the ball in play—something that only caused Henoke to grimace and click his tongue in annoyance. Hm…maybe if I… Watching to see how Yuto would react to the serve, Henoke contemplated new means of trying to catch the two of them off-guard. An idea came to his mind, causing a devious grin to come across his face. ”I’m ready for ya!” Refusing to be cowed by the two opposing forces, Henoke had a fiery look in his eyes as his mind and body seemed wholly focused on the game at hand.

A grin spread across Yuto's face as Tori saved the spike. ”To you!” He readied himself as the ball arched towards him. Jumping to meet the ball, The man put all his strength into a spike that was aimed towards the side of Henoke. The more the teen had to move, the deeper into the water they could make him go. "Incoming!"
He landed back in the water with a splash, the depth reaching his mid-thigh. The cumbersome nature of playing in the water might work to his and Tori's advantage. 'In reality, as long as Tori OR I have more points than Henoke we win the bet.' The thought caused a devious grin to play on the man's lips. A plan was being formed in his mind that could give the two of them a leg up, and it was all thanks to Henoke. When the details were all but finalized in his mind, he gave a wink to Tori, hoping she would notice the gears in his mind working.

Tori grinned after Yuto delivered a powerful spiked aimed at Henoke’s way. Just as she wanted, she and Yuto were working together in order to win —it didn’t matter who won out of the two, so long as that happened. She noticed his wink, only strengthening her smile as she looked back at the game.
“Heh —smart minds think alike!” she cheered in her mind, as her eyes gazed at the fast spike Henoke would have to receive.
He’d have to be ready for a 1 on 2 —there was no way Tori or Yuto would make it easy on him. Whether Henoke liked it or not, he’d dug his own grave by not speaking beforehand, being given plenty of opportunities for that.
Even thought the atmosphere was a competitive one, Tori couldn’t help but feel… Happy. Grateful, in a sense —comfortable. Having time to share a moment like this with friends she either knew from before or met at the moment was reward enough for all that happened. A nice, happy ending —or part of it, anyways. A small break in between the hardships.
“…Yeah —this is how things should be like…”
The thought lingered for a bit, before she would have to stay on edge to see what Henoke replied with. Odds were, though, that he’d complain but easily attempt a stunt on his own.
He wasn’t willing to lose, either, after all.

THWACK! Henoke’s grin widened as his golden eyes locked onto the oncoming spike that Yuto delivered. Heh—I knew he wouldn’t hold back, either! Rushing forward in an attempt to leap and hit the spike back, Henoke yelled out as he staggered in the wet sand beneath him. The wet muck had given out as his foot had come down, causing him to lose his balance for a moment. SLAM! Connecting directly to his forehead, the beach ball thwaaaanged off of the teen’s face and rocketed off in the opposite direction in a wide arc! ”Argh!” Holding a hand to his face, Henoke shouted out in mild pain and frustration as he saw the ball through bleary eyes head back towards Tori. The only saving grace was that it was a lower arc—meaning it would most likely bring her further away from Yuto, if only slightly. Any bit helped in this game, though. Henoke knew the disadvantage he was at, the realization quickly dawning on him as they played.
Shit—I’ve gotta figure somethin’ out… He really should have made his bet on the shore. He had gotten too prideful and too cocky. Oh! Feeling what he needed at his feet, the teen gave a confident grin. This will do the trick! A plan was coming together—one that made Henoke’s hopes soar. It wasn’t a long term plan, but it would work for now. Readying himself with his hands clasped together and his arms in a triangular form, Henoke shouted out to the other two with a wide smirk. "You won't catch me off-guard next time!" It seemed whatever the teen was planning, it had renewed his courage quite a bit.

Yuto flinched as the ball smacked his friend square in the face. "Yikes, that's gotta hurt." Having been hit in the face with quite a few things in his time, he could guess what his friend was feeling. It was nice to see how quickly he recovered however, the man knew something like that wouldn't keep Henoke down for long. "Not exactly what they mean when they say 'use your head'."
The low arc of the ball towards Tori was fine, though it was a two on one there were no real teams. As long as she caught this pass, everything would be fine. "You won't catch me off-guard next time!" Yuto pouted playfully. "Awww, but how're we gonna surprise you then?" Unable to keep a straight face at his own statement, the man did his best to keep his composure in case Tori passed the ball his way. Not that it mattered, given what the man had planned for the long run. Henoke's faceplant was an unexpected advantage that would make what Yuto was going to do all the more beleivable.

The spike hit its mark… Literally. Tori perked up after seeing Henoke getting hit by the ball, it bouncing in a fairly high but faraway arch. Although that was a point for Yuto (given that Henoke had committed an accidental fault), Tori was still concerned. Even though he was eager to keep going —him and Yuto both—, whenever a point was made, they had to start over again.
Those were the rules for beach volley —at the very least, the ones Tori knew.
Tori jumped a bit after the ball began falling down, her hands grabbing the ball and stopping it from going further —a sight one would consider a fault if Tori didn’t explain. She smirked, chuckling a bit as she glanced over at Henoke.
“Well… That’s a point for Yuto…” she mentioned, giggling with unease, “Even though it was an accident… You committed a fault —you need to bounce the ball back with your forearms or hands, not with your head” she snickered as she finished. She held the ball below her armpit while both hands rested on her hips. It didn’t look like Henoke was injured heavily —most likely a bruise that would go away, given the floatiness of the ball. Still, Tori couldn’t help but worry a bit, just in case he did feel eve the slightest bit injured.
“Although… You feeling okay?” Tori asked, “That was a pretty strong spike you got to the face…”

Sneering at Yuto’s jeer, Henoke felt himself getting more and more pumped up as the ball flew closer to Tori. ”What’re you doin’?!” Yelling out in surprise as he watched her hop up and pluck the ball from the air with her hands, the teen grabbed at his hair and stomped his foot under the water as his momentum was totally thrown off. ”Well…that’s a point for Yuto.” A look of bewildered disgust came over Henoke’s face. ”Huh?!” He couldn't help but visibly stagger in disbelief. Just when he thought it had all worked out, too!
”—you need to bounce the ball back with your forearms or hands, not with your head.” The teen groaned as Tori snickered, raising both hands to his face and running them across it. ”Arrrrrgh! Damn!” Swiping a hand through the water to vent his frustration, Henoke sighed, though it’s not like he planned on being a sore sport. He just hadn’t expected that outcome.
”You feeling okay? That was a pretty strong spike you got to the face…” Her worry only hurt his pride worse—the only thing being wounded today. ”Tch—I’m fine! I used to get hit harder than that durin’ trainin’!” Seemingly regaining his carefree and good humor, Henoke grinned at his last comment as he waved a hand dismissively at Tori’s concern. Glancing back to Yuto, a competitive smirk came across the teen’s face, a dark glint of mischief in his golden gaze. ”Get ready, Yuto! I’m gettin’ that point back!” Pointing at his friend, Henoke felt himself getting pumped back up as he straightened himself, grinning at Tori.
”C’mon! Let’s get this goin'! I can’t let it end here!”

The man was taken aback by the point that was now his. ”—you need to bounce the ball back with your forearms or hands, not with your head.” The rule made sense, but it did sting a bit that his friend lost a point because of something out of his control. It seemed to be a bit unfair in his opinion, doubly so since Henoke was nailed square in the face.
”Tch—I’m fine! I used to get hit harder than that durin’ trainin’!” Yuto was a bit relieved that the teen wasn't too hurt. It would suck if the ball did something like break the guy's nose. The man retook his position and readied himself for the game to resume. ”Get ready, Yuto! I’m gettin’ that point back!” Yuto let out a good-natured laugh. "You're gonna have to earn it. And I don't plan on making it easy on ya." Henoke's energy was always infectious, and Yuto found himself excited to get back to the game.
