Ah, the crashing of the waves... The serene sound of the sea meeting the land... It was almost as soothing as the feeling of the sand beneath Arkyron's feet as he treaded along the beach. He still wore his Organization Twilight Jacket, hoping the group would eventually be reinstated. Hood over his head, Arkyron's blonde hair and deep brown eyes were completely concealed. All the better in his view, for his eyes reflected every experience he'd had in the past. This place was no exception...
This was the very beach he'd last seen his sister before... The young man shook his head, refusing to think of that moment. Yet, his refusal only made it that much harder... Arkyron could still hear Crystal's laugh... He could still see her smile, and her young figure. The Keybearer couldn't help but still feel responsible for her death, though he knew otherwise.
After treading the beach some more, Arkyron decided to relax, and clear his head. Slowly, he walked over and leaned against a palm tree. The young man then put his right hand to his forehead, showing just how stressed he was. He hoped to figure things out soon...

Kay could feel the hot sand from the beach against her now becoming warm feet as she teleported clumsily onto the beach of Destiny Island. She was stumbling through the sand, trying to catch her balance. She had been to destiny islands, but only once. She had never really intended to come back..but she had anyway.
Looking up, she could feel her blonde bangs fall into her face. She wasn't the only person on this beach. There was also a male. Someone she had never seen before.
Standing up, she unruffled her knee length white skirt and approached him. She noticed he had somewhat of a forlorn look upon his face as he leaned against a palm tree. No doubt he had thoughts filling his mind.
"Something on your mind?" Kay asked him.

Ah, the soothing ocean breeze... It blew Arkyron's hair back and forth now that his hood was down. The young man's deep brown eyes were closed as he thought and relaxed. He felt a sudden surge of power, and then a presence. Yet, the keybearer payed no heed... until the presence stood right in front of him. Arkyron opened his eyes to see before him a girl. She looked close to his age, but he wasn't certain.
Is something on your mind?
The girl's words had a curious tone with them, and they struck him with a feeling similar to a sleeping man who had cold water poured over him, waking him up. Arkyron's negative emotions quickly fled his mind, but lingered in his heart. The keybearer tilted his head a bit, his eyes reflecting just how deep and complex his mind was. "Alot of things," he replied, an emotionless tone in his voice. "And you are?" the young man asked, curiosity lingering in his tone. Arkyron didn't know what it was about this girl, but something just... felt familiar somehow. What was it? The keybearer thought for a moment, then realized... he girl's appearance reminded him of Crystal... but why? She looked very different, but this girl somehow reminded Arkyron of his sister...

'And you are?'
"Curious." Kay smiled softly at the male before her. She then realized that it wouldn't kill her to tell him her name. After all, he seemed harmless.
"I am Kay." Kay spoke her name proudly as she studied the look on the males face. He acted almost as if he recognized her somehow, but she wasn't sure if she had ever seen her before. Perhaps she reminded him of someone. Waving off these thoughts, Kay spoke to the male once again.
"What is your name?"

Arkyron couldn't help but let out a slight laugh at the girl's first response to his question. He continued to listen regardless.
'What is your name?'
Kay's question rung in Arkyron's head, triggering memories... Martieve called him Experiment A-5, but everyone else knew him as Arkyron. The keybearer closed his eyes, and stood up straight, no longer leaning against the tree. When he opened them, the young man smiled a bit. "I'm Arkyron," he replied plainly.
The young man thought for a moment, wondering what had brought Kay here. He guessed it wasn't really his business though, and the keybearer felt it uncourtious to pry. Yet, something wouldn't let him avoid the question. "So, Kay, was it? What brings you here to the islands?" he asked, still smiling.

Kay smiled lightly back at the man she now knew as Arkyron. She knew nothing about him, but she assumed that he was near her age. She could only guess. He wasn't much taller than she was, but he seemed more mature perhaps. There were many thoughts running through her head at the moment, and the way that Arkyron had looked at her only filled her mind with more thoughts.
He looked at her in a way that made her want to ask him questions about his life. She had no reason to poke into his business, but she was beginning to wonder even more and more. His look of familiarity towards her only wanted her to know more about him and why he looked at her that way.
Running her hands over the back of her white skirt, Kay spoke to him.
"Curiosity." She said yet again. It was true, she had been intrigued by this place and wanted to know more about it. Now that she had met him however, she was far more curious than before.

Arkyron listened as well as observed Kay's expressions. The girl seemed very curious about him, not just this place. After a while, the memories stopped flooding the keybearer's heart, and his eyes returned to normal... or as normal as they got. The young man chuckled a bit, then dissappeared into a dark portal, reappearing behind the girl at the ocean's edge, peering out at the sea. "Curiousity killed the cat. Unlike the cat however, you seem perfectly capable of taking care of yourself," he replied with a vague emotion.
"My curiosity has brought me many different things... Pain and anguish... Sheer joy... New strength... but most importantly, a new view of myself," Arkyron said cryptically. "So, one can only wonder... what does it hold for you?" the young man asked as he turned around towards the girl again. Kay was very pretty. That much he couldn't deny. Yet, the keybearer's dark senses picked up on many strange things about her... Kay was definitely a force to be reckoned with. That much was certain. Was she a friend or foe though?

Pondering to herself, Kay thought for a moment.
What did curiosity hold in store for her? Obviously some new adventures, never knowing where she could be at any given time of the day. Curiosity had sometimes led her into tight pinches that she hadn't escaped easily. It had also allowed her to find out more about herself in ways she hadn't expected. She had discovered her powers by either sheer luck or curiosity.
Looking down at her bare feet burried in the sand, Kay smiled softly to herself. She had a dimple on the right side of her cheek and as she smiled it became visible. The sand was hot against her feet, but what could you expect on a hot day, especially on an island? The water looked inviting to Kay as she looked out at the tumbling waves.
Letting her smile fade, Kay looked up at Arkyron. "I don't know." Truth be told, she had no idea what curiosity held for her. Then again, wasn't that the thing about curiosity? You never knew when it would occur or where it was going to lead you. Kay smiled at him. She was beginning to feel comfortable around him, and not that she hadn't before. She just didn't trust people so easily.
"Curiosity could hold many things for me." Kay concluded.

Arkyron closed his eyes again, and turned back to the sea as he folded his arms in front of his chest. Kay seemed to be an inteligent individual, and she definitely stood out from the crowd. The girl had unknowingly confirmed something about herself though. Most people would have reacted with shock to the use of his dark abilities, yet she remained calm. That meant Kay was either used to being around people with such abilities, was an extremely calm individual, or she was a pawn of the dark herself. Arkyron hoped it was one of the prior.
The keybearer couldn't help but let out a laugh at the girl's reply. Kay was witty, he had to give her that. "So very true," Arkyron replied plainly. "Yet, only so much in our destiny is pre-determined... some things you need to decide for yourself. So, I guess the real question is, what do you WANT curiosity to hold for you?" he asked quizzically. The young man couldn't help but feel a need to be a tad shady. It was in his nature.
Yet, as Arkyron asked the question, he realized something... That was the very question he'd been asking himself lately. One the keybearer still lacked an answer for. "More importantly, what does your heart want for you?" he added, still retaining a somewhat cryptic edge to his questions. Yet again, another question he had yet to answer for himself however...

Kay blinked as Arkyron asked his final question to her. She didn't want to reveal to much about herself, never mind the fact that she was becoming even more and more comfortable around him.
Reaching a hand up to her face, she tucked a strand of her blonde hair behind her left ear. She pursed her lips for a moment as if in thought. She really did not know what she wanted. She had never had a goal in life, nor did she have any reason to establish one. Sometimes, when you have goals in life and you work towards them, they may not be reached. At least, Kay had heard that somewhere. She had thought that the person that spoke those words had been very wise. She tried to keep that in mind during her days.
Lowering her hand, she lifted her skirtup off of her knee for a moment and then let it drop once more, allowing it to rest in the place it had been seconds ago.
"Sometimes, what you want changes with who you are." Kay paused as she looked at him. The sun seemed to be getting lower and lower, casting a pink glow over the water. Sundown. "When you change, so does what you want. At least, sometimes it does."
Smiling again at him, she nodded. "Therfore, I don't know what my heart wants." Allowing her smile to fade, she continued speaking. "I'm sure i'll find out again soon."
Kay agreed with Arkyron. Destinies were predetermined, at least most of the time. If someone wanted to change them, and really change them, they could if they had the will to do so.
"What about you? What does your heart want?"

Sometimes what you want changes who you are.
What about you? What does your heart want?
Kay's words were wise, and they struck Arkyron like ice. The keybearer's eyes shot wide open as he gazed out at the sea, then quickly closed again. The young man then lowered his head, and let a small frown cross his face. What was it that his heart wanted? The truth was, Arkyron didn't know anymore. He had a purpose with Organization Twilight and Hikari, but was that enough for him? Was that enough to cease the yearning in his heart for completion?
As Arkyron thought, his mind shifted to everything he'd been through to get where he was. Death of those he cared about... Great battles... but what did it all amount to? The keybearer shook his head, and rage began to flood into his heart as he remembered all of the brutallity he'd suffered. The wind picked up, and storm clouds appeared above as his emotions shifted the wind currents. Yet, then thoughts of Hikari and his friends in Organization Twilight filled his heart and mind, and the storm clouds quickly faded, along with the fierce wind currents.
Finally, Arkyron shifted his head back upright, and turned to face Kay again. The keybearer opened his eyes and lowered his arms, gazing at the girl who had stirred his mind so. What gave her the insight to penetrate even the deepest hidden thought in his mind? It was frightening, yet a relief all at once. Finally, a slight smile graced his face again, and his eyes reflected his calm demeanor. "Honestly, I don't know. I guess you could say that's what I'm searching for... the insight to understand myself... yet it seems you've done that fairly well," Arkyron replied with a calm, yet almost teasing tone in his voice.

Looking up at the sky, Kay noticed the sudden weather change. The sky had been pink just moments before, and now it seemed clouded, as if created by someones rage. Was it Arkyron's rage that had caused it? She had no idea how powerful he was, nor what types of abilities he had. Yet, she had a feeling that it was he who had caused the drastic change.
'yet it seems you've done that fairly well.' The last words of his sentence caught Kay's attention immensely. The man before her knew absolutely nothing about her, despite what she had told him, which still wasn't much at all.
"I understand myself less and less each day." Kay could feel a smile cross her lips once again. It seemed as if she had only stopped smiling once while being within his presence. "I don't believe that I am anywhere near close to understanding myself at all."
It was true that Kay could understand herself at times, but many times she felt lost and unconsumed by the world around her. Sometimes she felt alone and wonderless. She felt as if an empty shell at times, but not like a nobody. She had a heart and she knew who she was. It was just the understanding of herself that she lacked at times.
Kay allowed her brown eyes to roam over Arkyron. He seemed to be pleasant, but despite his pleasantries he seemed to be confused, and sometimes lost. However, this was only what Kay saw of him. She knew nothing about him and was nowhere near able to judge him.
Blinking, Kay looked away from Arkyron and up at the sky once more. The promise of a storm hung in the air.

I understand less and less about myself every day.
That phrase summed up Arkyron's life recently in a nut shell. The young man couldn't help but smile more brightly as he closed his eyes. Then the gem-like structures shot open again as he turned his gaze to the sky. The storm wasn't dissapating. It somewhat uneased him. The keybearer's expression suddenly turned to surprise as small rain drops began to fall to to the ground. Nonetheless, he held out his right hand, letting some droplets collect in his palm.
Yet, all of this made Arkyron wonder if Kay was catching on to his other abilities. Then he began to wonder... what kind of abilities did the girl possess herself? Was she maybe doing this? The young keybearer thought about asking, but decided against it. "Well, whaddaya know?" he suggested, letting out a small laugh. He felt almost like a kid again... Then he turned to Kay, letting a genuine smile grace his lips, bright white teeth and all. "Did you bring a jacket?" he asked, a kind tone in his voice.

Smiling as Arkyron placed his hand out, Kay looked at him. He seemed to be enjoying the rain. Being a water mage, she could add to the rain, but she decided that she would rather not. The rain would be natural for once, and she wouldn't add to it in anyway.
Looking out at the water, Kay could feel the rain droplets falling down upon her face. She wondered how it made herself look as she felt the droplets slide down her cheeks and onto her neck. Wiping the water away from her face and her neck, she could feel her hair becoming slightly damp. No doubt it would be wet in no time.
Not expecting it, Kay heard Arkyron speak. 'Did you bring a jacket?' She could hear the kindness in his voice as he asked her his question. However, she had not brought a jacket at all. What you see is what you get. All that Kay was wearing was all the clothes that she had with her at the moment.
"No, I didn't see a need." She smiled, feeling the water on her face once more. "After all, it was sunny earlier."

Arkyron's expression turned to one of concern when Kay responded. "Well, no point in you getting soaked and sick," he stated as he took of his jacket and tossed the dark, smooth clothing to her. He didn't really need it, as he could just brush the droplets aside individually. "Just be careful with it. A close friend hand made it for me," he added, half teasing as he smiled. Now the rain drops quickly ran over his interior clothing, which was composed of a green t-shirt and some jeans, as well as his boots that went with the jacket.
The keybearer's lean figure glinted in the combination of rain and sunlight, almost illuminating him. The droplets were also soothing, and put him at ease. Yet, something still seemed amiss... Arkyron just couldn't place his finger on it though.

Kay caught the jacket. It felt heavy from the rain that had already fallen on it. Obviously Arkyron wasn't worried about getting his clothes wet, otherwise he wouldn't have given her the jacket to keep herself dry; or perhaps Arkyron was just a gentleman. Kay liked that about him.
'Just be careful with it. A close friend hand made it for me.' Kay smiled when she noticed the teasing tone in his voice. Slipping the jacket on, she could feel the warmth of it spread over her body instantly. Obviously his body heat had kept the jacket warm. The jacket was baggy on her, but she felt grateful to have it. Her clothes had already been dampened, but she could live with that. She hadn't even really considered taking his jacket from him. She didn't really need it anyway.
Kay reached her hand up to her face again, this time pushing her wet hair away from her brown eyes. Her hair was becoming heavy, causing it to tumble around her face. Once her vision had cleared, she looked at Arkyron once again.
"Thanks." She studied his outfit, which she hadn't noticed much of before. The green t-shirt seemed simple against his body as well as the jeans. She didn't know him at all, but she imagined he wore this type of outfit every day.
Kay continued to look at Arkyron, this time catching his eye. He acted almost as if he wanted something. As if something was missing. "What is it?"
Kay broke eye contact with him as she felt her hair fall into her face again. This became annoying, but she was used to it after all the rainstorms she had been caught in. She simply pushed it aside again and then looked at him once again, waiting for his reply.

Ah, the ocean air... it felt so much better to manipulate for Arkyron's comfort than any other. He closed his eyes and smiled, letting the breeze prevent any rain from touching him, while blowing through his hair. The keybearer didn't even give any thought to the fact that he might be allowing a potential foe to view his abilities... Yet, that was likely because Kay was gaining his trust quickly, and with ease.
What is it?
The girl's words again struck like ice, and he snapped back into reality, the breeze still surrounding him, flowing around the keybearer constantly. He thought about what it was for a few moments, then realized it wasn't just one thing, but a combination. Arkyron missed Hikari badly, as well as his friends in Organization Twilight. Not only that, but the fact that nothing misfortunate had befallen him yet unnerved him. Normally there was some sort of interruption by now...
Regardless, he stayed in reality, gazing into Kay's eyes. The girl somehow seemed to understand him, as if she were able to read his very mind. "Honestly, I'm not completely sure... It's more of a mixture of things... or people," he replied calmly.

Smiling, Kay spoke to him.
"Well, I don't know how you would feel about telling a complete stranger about your problems," She paused as she looked at him. "but I am here if you would like to talk."
Allowing her smile to fade, Kay focused on the rain that was falling around her. The sand that had once been hot felt cool to the touch and had turned into a soft wet feeling against her bare feet. Lifting her right leg up out of the sand, Kay looked as if she were balancing on one foot. However, she put it back down again, allowing the feel of the sand to engulf her foot once again. Her white skirt stuck to her legs and her shirt felt wet as well, but since she had borrowed Arkyron's jacket, it felt slightly drier.
Kay continued to look at Arkyron. There was something about him that made her stop and think. She hadn't felt this trustworthy with anyone for a while, and it was weird that she would reveal so much about herself in such a small amount of time. She hadn't thought twice about doing it either, which worried her.
Kay adjusted Arkyron's jacket against her body and looked away from Arkyron out to the water once more. The storm didn't seem to be getting better at all, it seemed to be slowly getting worse. She looked away from the water and looked to Arkyron once again. It seemed that was all she had done since she had met Arkyron; looking at the water and at him.

I'll listen.
Kay's words again struck Arkyron, leaving him speechless. Yet, they had a definite reassurance to them. The girl's tone told the keybearer that he could trust her. The young man nodded in response with a smile. "Alright, I'll tell you what you'd like to know, but I think we should get you out of this rain. It's a pretty sight, but we don't want you getting sick... besides, your clothes are already wet. I'd feel horrible if you fell ill because you were sitting out here talking to me," he explained, half-teasing as he let out a small laugh.
Regardless, Arkyron continued to feel like something was missing. It was as if something was missing from his very heart. The keybearer thought about it, and eventually came to the conclusion that it was simply how much he missed Hikari. In an attempt to focus however, the young man returned his attention to Kay. He couldn't help but stifle a laugh as her hair kept falling in her face.

'It's a pretty sight, but we don't want you getting sick...'
Kay couldn't help but laugh when she heard Arkyron speak these words. Nodding, she agreed with him. She'd rather not get sick, but she didn't mind the rain. However, it seemed that if Arkyron got her out of the rain, he would be much happier. She didn't think she would be sick anyway from just a little rain.
"Alright, but where do we go?" There were a few places where they could find shelter on Destiny Islands, at least Kay was sure of it. However, she didn't know exactly where they would be.
Kay began walking, but stopped to wait for Arkyron. The least she could do was walk beside him. After all, he had given her his jacket to keep her dry. Kay beckoned him forward with her hand and stood there waiting for him.
