Arkyron laughed a bit at Kay's response. The keybearer couldn't help it, for he just found her funny in a dry, humorous way. With a wide grin, the youth pulled his Organization Twilight jacket's hood over his head, concealing all but his expression; an expression of relaxation and friendliness. The young warrior wasn't sure how or why, but the girl had pierced his emotional defenses more quickly than all but one person...
"Not necessarily. You moreso pulled back the curtains," Arkyron replied in a teasing yet somewhat serious tone. "The light was there. The problem was I couldn't see it. I can honestly say I'm glad I met you; not only because of what you unknowingly did for me... but just for being a friend," the youth finished, an odd tone carrying on the wind that accopanied his calm voice. With a sigh, Arkyron folded his arms across his chest, thinking once more. What to do...

Almost as if she was mimicking Arkyron, Kay crossed her arms over her chest as well. Her clothes were still lightly damp from the storm that was still going on outside the cave. Kay wondered where the storm was headed and if it somehow carried Martieve with it. If the storm passed, would the problems caused in Arkyron's life pass with it?
Kay had no true problems in her life, nothing to hold her back from what she wanted. Nothing to guide her in a certain direction. She had made no faults, nothing that she regretted. Smiling and turning her mind away from these thoughts, Kay studied Arkyron. She could see his expression, relaxed and calm yet somewhat amused. He had pulled his hood up over his head, probably to hide his appearance from Martieve in case anything occurred that he couldn't predict.
Smiling at Arkyron's kind words, Kay studied him. "You're welcome; though, I believe that anyone you had stumbled across could have helped you in the same way."

Letting out a loud laugh, Arkyron smiled and let his arms drop. "First you mock me, then you tell me what you did was nothing. Well, I suppose one would think that... unless they understood what I've been going through. Speaking of which, I still owe you a story, if you still want it," the keybearer said in a teasing tone. A long story it would be too, if the girl accepted it. To Arkyron, Kay seemed too modest; it was almost as if the girl was sure anyone could do for people what she had done for him. "I know, kinda cheesy sayin you showed me the light... but I mean it in a more literal sense than you may think..." the youth added with slight allusion.

Kay grinned at Arkyron. "I don't think it would be possible for us to move from this spot without adding to what I know of you."
Smiling, Kay studied Arkyron. Turning away from him, she noticed a large enough boulder to sit on. Almost as if she were drawn to the boulder, Kay sat on it, her white skirt lifting a little higher since her body was now bent, pulling the skirt with her. She crossed her legs at the ankles and continued looking at Arkyron.
She couldn't deny in anyway that she wanted to know more about Arkyron and the man named Martieve. It wasn't as if a story like this fell into her lap every day. She was going to milk the story for all she was worth - gaining Arkyron as a friend during the process would of course be a bonus. She was too used to wandering around worlds without any consent by people. She wanted to help Arkyron solve this piece of his life in anyway that she could. She wanted to be there for him. She trusted him like she hoped that he trusted her in return. Trust was a difficult thing to find in todays world and she wanted to keep it for as long as possible. She had trusted Arkyron from the moment that she had met him. She didn't want to lose what their acquaintanceship was turning into - if anything at all.
"Look, Arkyron - I want to help you," She caught his eye as she spoke to him. "but, for me to do that - I need to know the importance of everything that you're about to tell me. I'm not ready to bail out on you, even though we've just met. However, for me to be sure, I need to know everything."

Arkyron watched as Kay walked over to the boulder and sat down, her skirt flitting with her motions. The keybearer listened intently to what his new friend had to say, a blank expression on his face. Contemplating each word with care, Arkyron decided on his answer, and nodded. "It all started two years ago..." the youth began, his eyes showing great insight as he looked upon his past.
(Woo, mood setting song if you want it. XD Song)
"On my homeworld, my brother, Rukayron, my siter, Crystal, and myself were wandering in a Cross Roads. Each of us faced a different direction. My sister, Crystal, looked to the sun, where the light was brightest. My brother, Rukayron, looked to the east, seeing a storm clouded horizon. I myself looked to the west, and saw the vast expanse of the sea, raging along our home's coast. While we were taking in the scenery though, a man approached from the south, where the mountains stood, blotting out the light."
"We never stood a chance. All of us were weaponless. We fought against him together. I was the first to be rendered unconscious, and I don't remember more than that. Months later, I remembered nothing but my siblings, and the man that I served; Martieve. I was a being of great darkness; I had been crafted into the perfect, mindless warrior. As I found out later, it was far worse... There's a dark creature dwelling within me... a great dragon of darkness."
"My memories were corrupted by the pure intensity of the darkness within my heart, and so one day, in defiance of Martieve, I left without warning. I wandered the darkness without fear, until I came upon The World That Never Was. There, I fought a powerful Nobody named Xirx. The true battle was within myself though, for the darkness within my was beginning to overwhelm me. Then she came."
"Hikari... though I didn't make the connection until later, she'd been hired by Martieve to retrieve a strange orb from Organization XIII, then later destroy me. Things didn't go according to Martieve's plan though... the two of us fell in love, and we've been together since, distancing ourselves from the darkness," Arkyron explained in detail, a smile crossing his face as he tapped his left hand against the wall, making a metal ping sound as his engagement ring brushed the rocky surface, the beautiful blue gem aglow in the dim lighting.

Kay's eyes glanced to Arkyron's left hand, where an engagement ring was wrapped nicely around his finger. She hadn't suspected him to be engaged, let alone involved with anyone. His life seemed far too complicated for something like that. Then again, his life and love with Haikairi was none of her business. He had mentioned it basically in passing. There were obviously far more important details at hand; much like the fact that Martieve had appeared out of nowhere, though from the south, and had taken what appeared to be Arkyron's life, though he was still living.
This darkness - this dragon, that dwelled within Arkyron's being seemed to be only that of a myth to Kay. She had been with Arkyron for a little, yet long while now and not once had she seen anything more than kindness from him. She wasn't expecting anything less than great from Arkyron. If anything horrible did occur, it would be a great shock to her.
Studying Arkyron's face as he spoke, Kay interupted him before he could speak any longer. "How do you know that there is this darkness within you?" Kay knew that there had to be some explanation for this. He couldn't just be darkness, especially with the life he seemed to be leading. Then again, she was only just learning about his life. Nothing she was about to learn would probably make much sense.
"You seem to be no monster to me." Studying him ever more closely she concluded that he must have an amazing ability to fight if this said darkness is within him.
"Then again, first impressions aren't always the ones that count." Kay scraped at a piece of dirt on the boulder she was sitting on with her fingernail. She wanted to help Arkyron, but she needed to know enough to do so. If she could help him, then she would.

Arkyron smiled weakly, and a small chuckle escaped his vocal cords. "How true that first impressions aren't always right... that would be very true with me... I know that the beast dwells within me... because I've become it twice before... I nearly killed innocent people I care about very much in the mere attempt to kill Martieve," the keybearer admitted, biting his lower lip.
"The first time it happened wasn't of my choice... Martieve had stolen an ancient relic designed to bring out the deepest darkness in a person's heart. The man used it on me, and the dragon was born... The second time I chose to take on the form to fight a dark keybearer by the name of Shade. I met him in Castle Oblivion, and he helped me... for a time. The man quickly turned on me though, leaving me with no other choice but to die or become the beast. I was worried that I would never change back, but I knew that ... she would rather have me in that form than not at all..." Arkyron explained, a sadder smile crossing his face now.
"In the end, I've become what you see before you. I'm just a kid... who was forced to grow up too fast..." the keybearer commented, a sincere smile replacing his more gloomy expressions. "I suppose I have them to thank for it... Organization Twilight... They're my family, though I don't share blood with a single one of them," Arkyron said, a toothy grin actually crossing his serious face as he laughed a bit.

Organization Twilight. Kay had heard mention of this Organization in passing once before, but she had never thought much of it. What was it really? She had thought that it had just been a sort of story amongst a group of people. Perhaps a story that someone had made up long ago. It wasn't every day that things turned out to be true. Especially organizations of all things. Kay hadn't heard talk of any, except for one. The most popular organization she had ever heard of. Possibly the start of all organizations - Organization XIII.
She had thought, like some others, that organizations liked to stay concealed - hidden from the outside world. It seemed that most didn't want just anyone know about them. Kay assumed that this would be the case with Organization Twilight.
Studying Arkyron's face as he spoke, Kay whiped a trail of dirt on her white skirt as she allowed the dirt to free itself from her finger. With her arms, Kay hoisted herself off of the boulder, allowing her skirt to fall into place once more. Standing on her feet, she began to pace back and forth. She studied the cave and pondered everything that Arkyron had been saying to her.
Finally, she spoke. "Don't you see though?" Studying his expression, she continued. "You've only become this beast, this dragon, twice before. Once out of the goodness of your heart; the other from your will to live. Even though you've had to do so, to become this beast, you didn't want to. You're not engulfed by the darkness inside of you and it can be released."
Kay had faith in Arkyron. Perhaps too much being that she had just met him mere hours ago. She was already plotting and scheming through ways in which she would help him. Ways in which he could be released from his life with Organization Twilight and the beast within him. Each thing would follow and fall into place after time. The first thing that needed to be done was getting the beast to be rid of him. Everything that followed would be all Arkyron's choice. Whether he wanted to stay with Organization Twilight or not was his complete choice. She would not aid him with that in anyway. She would help him so that he could live his life with Hikari, the way that they wanted to live.
"The two of us together can be strong enough to do this task for you. You wont have to become the darkness that's inside you. You can leave that behind starting now. There will never be a need for you to become that again." Kay didn't mention the fact that he could always be forced to become the beast again. It was all with a simple blink of Martieve's eye that this task could be completed. Kay didn't know anything about Martieve, but she knew that he wouldn't just leave Arkyron alone. He would do anything to keep the darkness within him; or so Kay thought.
Nodding, Kay studied Arkyron once more. She knew he wanted to be rid of the darkness within him. She just didn't know if he would allow her to do this for him. A small smile came across her face. Whether anything bad happened, they would meet that when the time came. For now, all they would have to do would be to talk and to prepare - If Arkyron agreed.

Arkyron listened with an odd expression upon his face. It wasn't an expression of excitement, nor one of joy or sorrow. It was more of a mixed expression, showing the piles of emotions that lay within the keybearer's heart. Kay made a great point... but the youth couldn't help the fact that he knew the great beast would always be there, waiting and tempting him to use its power.
Kay was an interesting girl though... She pierced into Arkyron's heart as if she'd known him all their lives and they'd been best friends, despite the fact that they'd known each other all but maybe a few hours. Arkyron saw many things in Kay. The girl seemed as if she could be a great friend, and as if she were willing to go to great lengths just to help him with his situation. However, the keybearer couldn't help but see a trace of what he remembered of Crystal within Kay...
It was an odd feeling, barely knowing someone yet feeling you could trust them with anything, even your life. It was the very feeling that Arkyron felt for Kay. The keybearer and girl barely knew each other, yet they knew everything. It left Arkyron feeling oddly at ease. Was it really so odd though? Kay had shown him immense kindness and understanding thusfar... why would it be any different?
Kay spoke of the beast within Arkyron as if it were just something completely apart from him that he could find a way to get rid of... Perhaps it was, but that wasn't what the young man believed. No, Arkyron believed the dark dragon to be the very darkness that sat within his heart, waiting to strike at any time with the slightest provocation. However... Kay's views struck Arkyron with hope; hope that he could rid himself of the beast some day.
Finally, as Kay finished speaking, Arkyron remained silent and closed his eyes. Thoughts flowed through his head at rapid rates, leaving him indecisive. The youth hated the feeling; he viewed it as a weakness. After a moment, Arkyron raised his head once more to speak. "Martieve's days are numbered. It won't be long until I don't have to worry about him, of that I'm sure," the keybearer said with confidence.
"As for the dragon... I can contain it, so long as I'm not provoked... I think..." the youth added with uncertainty. Arkyron was determined to finish off Martieve, but he doubted his ability to eliminate the darkness within him. Suppress it, perhaps... but could he really rid himself of that foul aura his heart wreaked of?

Martieve. A variable that Kay hadn't fully considered. She didn't know anything about this man. She knew nothing of his hopes, his weaknesses, nor his strengths. She could not expect to fight someone that she didn't know. She would have to leave the fighting up to Arkyron. Though, she was sure, that if she left it to Arkyron, he might be either killed or possibly unleash the beast within his body; which she knew he did not want. Kay wasn't sure what she could do to help Arkyron within this area. All she could do was help him to get there and then perhaps he would be able to finish the job from that point on. She had told Arkyron that she would help him, and she would - for as long as possible.
'As for the dragon...I can contain it, so long as I'm not provoked... I think.' Studying his expression, Kay nodded.
She knew that Arkyron wanted to be rid of the beast within his body so desperately, but he would have to control it in order for this to be done. She couldn't help Arkyron along his way if he were a danger to her in this form. If he hurt her, then she couldn't help him any longer - depending on how badly hurt she could become. Kay did not know of the beast because she had never experienced it, but she knew that it would be powerful. Martieve had obviously intended for the beast to consume Arkyron. However, due to Arkyron's will, Kay could see that he had not allowed it to overtake him. Kay knew no more than what Arkyron had told her, but she was still willing to help him.
He was a friend in need and she would help him.
Kay blinked for a moment as if she were swallowing all of her thoughts. It wasn't going to be easy. Watching Arkyron, she spoke.
"What does it all come down to?" She had her suspicions on how this would end, but she could hardly be accurate. They were only ideas. She knew that there would be fighting, searching and hurt; but beyond that, she had no assumptions.
