"I couldn't agree more," Arkyron replied smiling. It was hot here... The memories clung true to their nature. "I'm amazed at how well the cards replicate everything..." he commented, walking silently. How well indeed... but he'd forgotten one thing... the quick sand. Suddenly, he began sinking. "SHADE! IT'S QUICKSAND!" he shouted, as it began quickly pulling him in. Just before it took him, he summoned Fate's Crossing, and drove it into the earth with both hands, holding on for dear life.

Arkyron glared at Shade as he held on, trying to pull himself free. It was near impossible though. It was pulling him in fast, and he could only hold on so long. Then he smirked and laughed. "If you let me die, you let all my secrets die with me though," he retorted. "There are things I haven't told you, and I have far stranger memories that could prove useful for the information you want."

Arkyron smirked, and laughed a bit after Shade pulled him out. "Ah, but that's just it. I won't give you the information until we reach the top," he said, a sly grin on his face. "My brother said that Martieve guy is here... that means that once we reach a certain point he'll confront us. Trust me, you don't want to take him on alone," he said, his expression turning to one of disgust at the thought of the man. And hopefully by that time I'll be strong enough to defend myself against you... he thought to himself.

Arkyron slowly regained his composure, and stood up, dismissing Fate's Crossing. "He's more than just a threat to me. He's a threat to the existence of everything. He's brought very worlds to their knees... He's not to be taken lightly in the least. He's a master of not only darkness, but of all the other elements, and to make matters worse, he's deft of blade," he explained, concern in his eyes. "He brought the world I remember as home to the brink of destruction..." he added, a sad tone in his voice.

Arkyron followed Shade, watching him closely. He didn't like where this was going at all. Especially the way he was toying around with the cards... "I'm coming, just be patient. I want to get to the top just as badly as you do," he retorted sharply. "The exit should be near..." he muttered, glancing around. Sure enough, it was in the exact spot he'd used a dark portal in to leave this place. "There!" he exclaimed, pointing.

(Sorry for the long wait)
Arkyron was still uneasy, but opened the door nonetheless. Unfortunately for him, as it turned out. As he stepped through the doorway, he was welcomed by a blast of dark energy. The keybearer braced himself, but was singed nonetheless. "Martieve..." he muttered, looking about for who he knew the source of the blast to be. "Shade, be on guard... there's a powerful being about..." Arkyron warned as he walked forward.

Arkyron grunted, somewhat irritated by Shade's response. The keybearer all but hated the man... Yet, Arkyron was using Shade just as much as the man was using him. It was only a few more floors now... three at most until they arrived at the top. "We're almost there Shade... but be warned, everything will be potentially lethal from now on with Martieve involved... The darkness isn't the only thing we'll have to fear from him. His other powers are just as dangerous," the young man explained. If all goes accordingly, maybe I can pit him against Martieve and just sit back... I've gotten alot of what I came to learn... Arkyron thought slyly.

Arkyron didn't like where this was going. Though it put him in an advantage where he could manipulate Shade, it also put him in a predicament that forced him to trust the man for now. Once I rid the worlds of Martieve, you're next on my list... the keybearer thought with disdain. Regardless, he let out a sigh, and folded his arms across his chest as he leaned against the wall. The young man quickly drifted into thought, wondering what they should do... "We have to have a plan of some sort from now on. If we don't, we're heartless fodder," he said, nearly out of the blue. "Please, do share any suggestions," the keybearer added with slight venom.

A certain someone will pay the price.
It was words like that that made Arkyron despise this man. Regardless, he smiled and shrugged. "Works for me so long as I get to slice and dice some Heartless and Nobodies," he replied curtly. And you, if I get the chance... the keybearer thought bitterly. Regardless, he sighed, and stood straight up again, arms at his sides. "Well, we'd best stop loitering and continue, eh?" he suggested as he started for the stairs.
Arkyron didn't like this situation still... It made Shade and himself too dependent on each other for his liking. Arkyron could leave Shade to fend for himself, but he doubted he could take on the challenges ahead alone. With Martieve pulling the strings, he was only so much more doubtful... The keybearer refused to give up though. He had to press onwards and learn the harsh truth behind his life.

Arkyron took the card from the air, holding it between his index and middle finger. As he reached the top of the stairs, he threw it to the door, and watched as a light flooded out of it on the previous floors. What awaited within this one though? Was it for his good, or would it destroy him? More importantly, would it give Shade reason to turn on him? The keybearer supposed he wouldn't know until he went inside.
As he stepped up the last stairs and into the doorway, he glanced around. Everything was white. In the epicenter of the room sat a figure from his memories. As he stepped forward, he recognized her immediately. It was Kyla, the girl he remembered as his slain girlfriend before Martieve siezed his heart. "Hello Arkyron," she said briefly as her long blonde hair swayed in the winds, and her blue eyes reflected the multitude of light in the room. "Do you now know why you are here? Why you were created?" the girl asked in a calm demeanor.
"Wha-... what do you mean? There's a reason why I'm here? What do you mean I was created?" Arkyron asked, a puzzled expression on his face.
"I thought not..." Kyla replied, smiling weakly. "You see, I've never existed outside of your heart and the memories within them. I guess you could say... I'm the light in you. I'm the reason that the darkness never took you. I'm the light part of your heart that the darkness could never overtake. Yet I'm not part of your heart at all. Not anymore, anyway. When you met her, you didn't need a false light to keep going. Hikari showed you love, and the true light that you weild against the dark," the girl explained cryptically.
Arkyron's expression was one of bewilderment. "Still, I was created? I wasn't born like a normal human?"
Kyla shook her head in response. "No, you were born. You were taken at a young age in an attempt to create the ultimate warrior of the dark," she replied. "That's why you have such powers as you do, and why you became the Serpent in The End of The World. You were gifted with the power of wind at birth, but the darkness tempered it. I guess you could say you're as close to being an artificial heartless as you can get without being one," the girl explained calmly with a smile. "Goodbye," she finished, and faded... forever.
"Wait!" Arkyrons shouted after her, but it was too late. "What do I do now...?" he asked, a confused expression on his face, as he reached out to where she'd been.

Arkyron now felt very uneasy since Shade had learned his past at the same time he did... What if Shade helped Martieve in an attempt to harness his power? The keybearer let out a sigh, and crossed his arms across his chest, thinking. As much as he hated it, he couldn't go on in the castle without Shade. It seemed futile to prod around in the memories here... Yet, Arkyron felt a powerful presence... shortly accompanied by a roar.
The young man looked across the room to see his worst nightmare... himself, in his experiment form: the Dark Serpent. The keybearer watched in horror as the creature spiraled through the air, roaring as it went. "Shade... that's... it's futile to fight it! Run for the exit!" Arkyron declared, fearing for both their lives. The creature was whipping up multiple tornadoes throughout the massive room, as well as unleashing multiple volleys of dark flames. "It won't hesitate to kill us... we can't stay here! We have to find the door!" Arkyron exclaimed, only to be knocked to the ground moments later by a dark blast.
The young man rose to his feet, slightly scorched, but okay. "Go! Now!" the keybearer ordered, pointing to the far end of the room.

(Whoa, sorry for the delay. Never saw the post until like... 5 minutes ago. ._. On another note, I thought this music was fitting to this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHoF7ftRW18)Arkyron nodded to Shade, and quickly tried to open the door, but to no avvail. "It must be sealed!" the keybearer exclaimed, turning to face the serpent. The foul beast was quickly closing in. Though Arkyron despised Shade so strongly, he wasn't about to let someone else die for what he was. The young man quickly ran to face the beast, keyblades in hand. With great speed and agility, he leapt onto the serpent's head, narrowly, evading its jaws, then proceeded to run down its back. "I'll distract it! You find a way to breach the seal! See if any of the cards do the trick!" Arkyron shouted back to Shade, repeating his exercise.

(Just so you know Replica, I'm not ignoring the thread, but I've simply been suffering from a lack of a response... I'll get to this as soon as I've decided on a course of action, I promise.)

(Finally over stupid writer's block! lol )
Nodding to his antagonist and ally, Arkyron made a run for the door, narrowly dodging a lunge from the dark serpent that lurked within his memories. After several repititions of the feat, the serpent launched a blast of fiery energy at the youth, striking him dead on. Arkyron fell to the ground from the impact, and looked up at the serpent looming over him. Regaining his footing, Arkyron watched closely as the serpent prepared another lunge. As the creature dove at him yet again, Arkyron waited until the last moment, then leaped up and struck the creature on top of the head, smiling as it wailed in agony.
Stunned, the creature lay limply on the ground, trying to regain its composure. Seeing his chance, Arkyron made a mad dash for the door. "Whatever your plan is, now's the time!" the youth shouted as he reached the door.

A bit confused at first, Arkyron gave Shade a quizzical look, but acknowledged the man and waited. As the card hit it's mark, Arkyron slammed his palm against the card. The impact threw the door open and the youth stepped through quickly. "Shade! C'mon! The beast is only stunned, and I can't go on in the castle without you!" the keybearer shouted back in desperation. As Arkyron looked around in anticipation, he could see they were in fact in the halls of the castle yet again. However... he could only see one staircase. "It's... the last floor..." the young man whispered to himself under his breath before turning back to wait for Shade.

Taking the final card from Shade, Arkyron proceeded forward. Hesitating just before the door, the keybearer's face twisted into a sad and angry expression. "This is it... this is the end... the last place of my memories... Will we confront Martieve, or is he no longer here? I can only wonder..." the youth muttered to himself in a tone that carried his great emotional weight. "What... what lies beyond this door? Will we find the truth about me? Or will I only find more questions? It's a frightening thought, to be honest, Shade... I guess it's not fair to delay destiny though," Arkyron finished, his expression shifting to a joking smile as he glanced at Shade out of the corner of his eye.
As Arkyron put the card to the door, a bright light emanated from behind it. As the keybearer opened the door and stepped through, he found himself at a strange field. Four roads intersected at its epicenter, creating a cross roads. Memories quickly flooded through Arkyron's mind at the sight of the place, each one flashing before him. This was where it all started. This was where Martieve had abducted him and his siblings, as he now recalled. This was the place where the three had been stolen away from their home to become the subject of some twisted experiments. "Shade... I... I remember everything now... This is the cross roads I reached... the one that changed me into who I am now..." Arkyron said quietly, almost in a whisper.

Arkyron laughed at Shade's sudden threat. "No such event will take place. You don't need to worry... about my memory anyway..." the keybearer replied, leaping away from the man. "Two years ago, I was abducted here by Martieve. He took me to a laboratory within this very castle. I wasn't just the subject of darkness experiments though... I was the test for the effects of the castle upon the memories of the heart. Martieve got cocky though. I escaped from his grasp about a year ago. Since then, I've been fighting him and my brother. They'll both fall... but what about you? Are you really going to challenge the host of the dark serpent?" Arkyron threatened, a red and purple aura surrounding him.

At the very sound of Shade's words, a menacing laughter echoed through the air, and the ground began to split and tear apart, dividing the cross roads into four corners with a gaping hole in the middle. Above the southernmost one floated a figure all too familiar to Arkyron. "The dark serpent will reign supreme within you Arkyron. All of your memories have led up to it! Now, give in, and let its blood flow through your veins once more!" Martieve demanded, laughing with madness.
No, this was no memory... it was the real deal. "Shade... this isn't a memory... this is real," Arkyron warned, rearing his keyblades in anticipation. "He'll kill you, but he needs me..." the keybearer added, concern in his eyes as he strategized how to go about this. Grunting, Arkyron leapt at the old man, only to be forced to slide backwards by a dark aura. "It's no good...!" the youth exclaimed in surprise.

Arkyron saw this coming all along, though he hoped it would not be so sudden. Unable to move, and barely able to breathe... the darkness in his heart began to stir, weaving, bending, until Arkyron's eyes turned red. "Big mistake, Shade," the youth proclaimed, his form shifting. "Though you may live to fight another day..." A dark shadow loomed over Arkyron's body as his figure twisted and turned, making strange crackling noises as Martieve gazed upon the keybearer in amazement.
After a few moments, the crackling ceased, and a dark mist ensued. When the mist cleared, Arkyron was no more, nor were the chains. In place of the boy and the trap was a large, serpentine, green, black, and red dragon. A roar escaped the throat of the beast, sending shockwaves throughout the area. Without hesitation, Arkyron swiped at Martieve with a massive claw, leaving a huge gash upon the man's chest and knocking him to the ground, unconscious. Now it was only the keybearer's experiment form against his betrayer.

Arkyron's sub-conscious beast form was confused by the display of clones, but more surprised still when Shade was forced to recall them. Guard Armor was attacking instead though, and the beast was struck along the shoulder... to little effect. A large gash was made, but the dragon smirked in triumph, flames gathering in its mouth as it unleashed a strange black and blue flame. Rather than attacking the Heartless directly though, the beast aimed the strange blast of energy towards the feet. This was going to be a fierce battle of titans, that much was certain.
Rearing its head back, the experiment form of Arkyron readied another volley of flames, but this time shot them straight up into the sky, awaiting them to fall. Fall they did. However, the flames now encased a strange rock; a meteor fell quickly to the earth. Though they didn't hit the Guard Armor, the rock fell fast, striking with great force and splitting the ground further apart.
