Captain Justin smiled when Rekka shook his hand. Lara noticed the smiles of everyone else, especially the one on Billy's face. "Welcome to the army then Rekka. Why don't you accompany us back to the barracks. We'll have you sign up with the head recruiter."
Lara also added, "And I'll get you the waiver. Once you sign up they give you a day to get your things in order." Hopefully that would be long enough for Rekka to get the medicine to her mother. Otherwise, perhaps Lara could talk to Timothy. He was the head of the new recruits. A hard man, but Lara stood over him in terms of rank. She'd just use some of her charm if she had too.
"Alright ya scally wags! Were headin back to the barracks!" Captain Justin informed everyone. He started off, Lara walking beside him. The journey back to the barracks would take a couple of hours. They had to go through the middle class district, the upper district, and around the castle palace to get to the barracks and the main office hall. That's where Rekka would be heading first. That was where Lara's office was as well.
((OOC: You can have them move all the way through the city if you want in your next post. ^_^))

Rekka could see the smile on the captain's face as she shook his hand. She meant what she said. If they could do that for her mother then she was more than willing to become a part of them. Not only that but she was eager to learn more. When next she met that person who removed her eye, she would no longer be the victim in the fight to come. Her father and her eye would be avenged. At least, that's what she was hoping for. Rekka wasn't stupid enough to think she'd make it right off. It was going to take time and effort. So long as she worked hard at it, she thought she could manage.
The captain welcomed her to their army and then suggested she accompany them back to the barracks. There, they would have her sign up with the head recruiter there. Rekka gave a nod, smiling as she did so. Everyone seemed pleased at her joining. It was after the captain spoke when the Commander spoke. Turning to her, Rekka listened as she told her that she would get her the waiver and that once she signed up, she had a day to get her things in order.
"Okay, I'll be sure to do so immediately." Really, they hadn't much to move. It wouldn't take her long. It really looked like she was going to make her mother get better. A huge weight felt like it had been lifted from her shoulders. She was sure her mother would be happy to hear it too. Rekka and she were getting worried about her condition. Now, it looked like their worries were over.
After that, it was time to head out. Turning back to the captain, she watched as the Commander took up the position next to the captain and they began the trek back to the barracks. Rekka followed along the others, occasionally looking around the area as they went. She was trying to familiarize herself with the lay of the place since she had never been to this world before. Despite the poor section of it, the world was rather interesting and beautiful. Of course, she wasn't even outside of the castle or kingdom to see the wilderness and other things the world had to offer. Yet, the more time she spent walking with the others, she noticed how nice it was just inside the kingdom once they managed to make it into the middle class district.
People, though they weren't rich in this district, seemed at peace and were very welcoming. As they passed, they gave the armored knights waves or calls in greeting. It put a smile on Rekka's face. It was like what Radiant Garden used to be like. There was no doubt in Rekka's mind though that this kingdom was massive. As they continued to trek through the streets of just the middle class, only an hour had gone by for them and they still hadn't reached the end of this district.
By the time they did, Rekka wondered how much longer their walk was going to take them. She didn't mind it though. It were as if she were walking through the marketplace back home and the district where the homes were gathered. Those took quite a trek in their own right and even longer if someone had to buy something or find their way around the place. As she went, Rekka enjoyed the sight of the district. It was pretty. If she thought that was nice though, the next one was even far more stunning. No doubt, this district was for the upper class. She could tell because everything was what appeared to be the best of everything and even in decor.
People here, though slightly more standoffish, did smile upon seeing them and even greeted them as they passed. For the moment, Rekka was able to forget about her appearance. It didn't occur to her that some had actually been looking at her with some concern or distaste. After all, she hadn't exactly fixed her eye patch's wear just yet. By the time they were in the middle of the upper class district was when Rekka took a short moment to right it. Now that her eye patch felt normal again, she was able to better focus on her surroundings without her hair feeling weird on her head.
Once they finally got to the kingdom, Rekka was eager to find a good place to sit. Her legs were tired from the long walk. No doubt, these knights had to be in good shape to be able to withstand this trek so often. At least, she had thought they had to travel a lot around here. She was a bit surprised, as she glanced over at them, that none of them looked remotely tired from the walk except her. Rekka was a tad embarrassed about that fact. Oh well, with time she may get more used to it like they were. Only time could tell.
The palace was truly astonishing. Rekka couldn't help but gape at it in awe as they traveled around it to get to where the barracks were said to be. 'None of our castles are that beautiful!' Rekka thought. Radiant Garden had two castles. Both had been restored to their original beauty but that was a long time ago. Time had worn them down again even after their restoration. Due to the overpopulation in the world, the castles had long since become run down again and were neglected. It was a pity since they were nice in their own right even if one used to harbor Heartless in its walls.
Finally, when they reached the barracks, Rekka didn't think she wished to walk anymore. She was relieved to have a bit of a reprieve once they arrived since they had come to a stop for a moment. It was short lived though before they were finally in the center of the barracks. "Whew!" she said to herself. Glancing around, she could see a number of other soldiers. Some were in the thick of their training and didn't notice them while others were peering over at them curiously. One appeared to be approaching them. Probably an official that the captain and commander knew.

It was good to be back in the Army Grounds. There were several builds that made up this district sized place. There were the barracks, three large dormitories two of them being for men while the last and smallest being for the women in the army. There was the weapons house which lay right next to a fenced off training grounds. In the training grounds were a section for archers, a single paved circle for one on one combat, and a large obstacle course with various different items. On the other side of the training grounds was a stable that led to a trail that circled around the entire area where even now new recruits ran along side it. Finally the largest building, about as big as the warehouse, closest to the entrance was the main office hall. In it were the various offices, academic classrooms, and the mess hall.
They stopped before the barracks. Captain Justin turned to his men. "Alright ya scally wags! Get out your armor and I want you back here on the double! Laps time!" There were grunts as the men began to turn towards the barracks. "Do I hear I want to run triples?" The men grew silent then.
"Come with me Rekka." Lara waved goodbye to her friend and stared towards the Main Hall. "It's a large place, but you will get used to it. We'll talk to the head of the recruits and sign you up. He'll inform you on the protocol. Not all people make it through the first few weeks, but don't let that dishearten you. I think you'll be a good soldier."
Coming to a stop in front of the large white main hall, Lara felt like she was home. "Turning full human now aren't ya!" Alvi mocked Amber.
This was her home now. And if that meant living with and working with humans... well they had been nicer to her here then back where she grew up. Lara led Rekka into the building. Once inside they were greeted with a long hallway. This was the side entrance, directly into the main offices. The soldier's entrance, was at the center of the building. There were various names and titles on each door as they passed them by. Some were open, where different individuals worked at different tasks. The one they stopped at though read Captain Timothy L.
Lara knocked on the door. A stern hard voice on the other side said, "Come in."

As they came to the barracks, Rekka could see already what some parts of the barracks were. She rose her brows in wonder. It was pretty large and she didn't think it would be this big but it was. Rekka couldn't help but try her best to soak it all in. Her single eye, even if she had two, Rekka could never be able to take it all in at once right now. As they came to a stop before the barracks, it was here where their group would depart.
The captain turned to his men and then told them that they were to get out their armor and get back here on the double. It was time for them to do their laps. Of course, this earned him a few disgruntled grunts in response as the reluctant men turned to do as they were told. The captain spoke again in response asking if he heard someone say they wanted to do triples. It was at this point that the men grew silent. Rekka watched them take their leave before the Commander turned to speak to her.
Rekka gave her all of her attention as she listened to what she was saying to her. After telling her to follow her, the woman gave the captain a wave before starting towards one of the large buildings. Rekka followed after her, keeping up with her as she heard the Commander speak. They were going to talk to the head of the recruits and get her signed up. He will inform her on the protocol of the area. Not everyone made it through the first few weeks but the Commander tried to reassure her that she believed Rekka would be a good soldier.
"Thank you. I hope I will be too." She really did. Rekka didn't want to be a failure if she could bare it. It wouldn't be good for her especially if her mom's case turned out to be an incurable illness. The first few weeks sounded rough though. Rekka hoped that she had enough resolve and endurance to make it through. She was determined to keep going if she could. In her eyes, there was no backing out or giving up. Unlike most, Rekka had something she needed to support and she couldn't back out. She had no option otherwise her mother would be left in a terrible state should her illness be incurable. Rekka truly hoped her mother didn't have one of those. It would dishearten her greatly.
Unaware of the things going through Lara's mind, Rekka looked at the large white hall before them. Why were they standing here? It wasn't long before the Commander lead the way in, Rekka following her closely. As they went, she got a glance at the offices they passed. Name plates were placed above each doorway telling them who was inside and whose offices they were. Eventually, the pair of them came to a stop before one that read above the doorway "Captain Timothy L."
As the Commander knocked on it, a voice that sounded rather firm was heard on the other side telling them to come in. This must be the head recruiter's office. Bracing herself, Rekka followed Lara inside and looked upon the face of the leader of the recruits. He was a firm looking man and the way he was looking at them, Rekka felt a little intimidated. This was the kind of man that took no nonsense. No doubt, he might find her as a recruit as something amusing rather than taking her seriously.

"Commander Lara." Captain Timothy said with a nod of the head.
Lara did her best to give him a smile. Captain Timothy was indeed a firm man. Even how he dressed was firm. While at the moment he wore no armor, his clothes were all very set and ironed to perfection. He was dressed in a red long sleeved shirt and tan colored pants. His head was bald except for a single long black braid that flowed down to his neck line. His skin was a warm caramel color and eyes almost on the verge of black.
Lara stepped forward and closed the door behind her. "I have a new recruit for you Captain. I'm going to give her a medical waiver for some medicine, but I figured you could get started with the protocol and contract."
Captain Timothy was the same recruiter who had trained Lara. He did not like her, only passing her because he could not deny her ability. However he had done everything to make her life miserable. He claimed he did it to everyone, but Lara had seen the way he treated the women recruits. The majority of them left. Lara was very sure that the Captain was sexist in the way that he did not think that women should be in the army. He thought it was a man's job. It was why the First Commander always kept a close eye on him. The man was good at what he did. His training had made her hard and ready for the missions she had been put on. But that didn't mean she liked the man.
"Oh of course." The Captain responded sarcastically. Lara rested a hand on Rekka's shoulder before leaving and closing the door behind her.
------------------------
Captain Timothy sighed. He took a seat behind his desk. The room was pretty much set up like a typical military man's office with a desk, cabinets, chair, and papers and pens lying on the desk. He opened a drawer to his desk and pulled out a long sheet of paper. "Sign this. Protocol is pretty simple. You have till 8 am tomorrow morning to be here or your contract is null. The moment you step here tomorrow morning you are mine. You do what I say when I say. You do nothing unless told. I do not need to know your name because I do not expect you to make it through the first few days. You will be joining a class of thirty. Only half will make the cut to graduation in four weeks. Where you place at graduation depends on your physical and mental abilities. What happens after you graduate is not for me to tell you. Now any questions?"
Timothy reached to his desk and pulled out a pen. "And when you are ready sign."
-----------------------
Lara headed past Timothy's office and further down the hall. She passed by several people and gave a casual wave before reaching her office. When she reached into her pocket and pulled out her key she put it into the key hole. She was surprised to find though that her door was already unlocked. Why would it be unlocked?
"We can't trust humans and we can't trust you!" Alvi again... She had bigger things to think about. Readying for anything, Lara slowly opened the door. There the First Commander, the person in charge of everything that happened here, waited in Lara's office chair.
The First Commander was a woman of average height. She had a young face with blue eyes, but long gray hair. Currently she was dressed in purple robes with gold sleeves and a golden necklace with a red ruby. Rosy lips and annoyed eyes looked back at Lara. "I did tell you to wait here didn't I Commander Lara?" She asked.
Lara gulped. "Don't just stand there child. Close the door we have things to discuss." Lara did as she was told. The moment she closed the door, Lara saw a clear orb fall from the sealing above and enclose her office. The First Commander was a Mage Warrior. One of the strongest in the army. She could probably send some of the best elven mages running with her ability. What she had just done was out an orb of silence around them, preventing any hearing ears.
"Sorry First Commander. I just wanted to clear my head and I heard Justin was going out for a mission in the city. I just needed some time to think."
First Commander sighed and rubbed her temples. "I gave your report to His Majesty..." The First Commander began before Lara cut her off.
"What did he say?"
"There is no actual proof that what you said is true. He cannot declare a war conference on a shear whim, and I must say I understand his point. However he trusts me, and I trust you. He sent an envoy to each of the worlds to share your report and a letter he has addressed to each letter. However he has asked me to get together a small group for a special mission... Amber I would like you to head that mission."
Lara's head whipped up at that. How did she know?! Lara had told no one of her actual name, or her relationship with the elves. No... she couldn't know! "Never good at hiding your emotions are you, stupid half elf!" Alvi taunted.
The First Commander stood. "Don't fret child. I knew your name all along. As does his majesty."
"But...how?"
"Your mother came looking for you. Being a human from Elfhiem his majesty met with her separately. She described your circumstances to us. She just wanted to make sure you were alright. Once she saw that you were she headed back to your home. His Majesty shared the information with me, and together that was why we selected you to go to The Keyblade Graveyard."
Her mother had been here? And Amber had never even known? Beyond that, Lara felt sad. She had thought that she had been chosen for that mission because of the name she had made for herself. Not because of Amber. "I don't care! I'm not Amber anymore. I'm Lara."[/i]
"Keep telling yourself that crazy." Alvi mocked again.
"Don't worry. No one else will be told. I just wanted to let you know that I knew."
"What is this mission then? Is it for me?... Or Amber?"
The First Commander seemed confused by what she just said, but she didn't speak about it. "I need you to go to Elfhiem. I need you to speak with the Head Elder and bring him his majesty's note and your mission report to him. You will leave in three days."
Return to Elfhiem?! It was like the worst thing anyone could ever ask Lara... no Amber. For Amber to return... It had been three years since she had been to Elfhiem. The Head Elder was located in the central village, the village she had never even been too. "Surely there is someone better..."
The First Commander cut her off. "You know only those approved by the elves can enter the Enchanted Forest. If you lead the company then you can get your party in. You are the only person we have and trust to do this."
There was no choice... "Alright... I guess I have no choice."
The First Commander smiled. Lara could tell she was relieved that Lara had accepted. Not that there really was much of a choice in any of this. "Take a party of four with you. You have free reign from any of the Captains and below."
Lara knew who she wanted. "Justin of course. Captain Ty as well." Both were the remaining Captains who had worked under her when she had been Captain. She trusted both with her life. But as for the other two... Lara had to think. "Also Soldier Lucas... And there is a new recruit that is signing up today. I would like to take her..."
The First Commander raised an eyebrow. "A new recruit? I understand Lucas. He's the best archer I've seen in years... But why the new recruit?"
"Something about her... I just know she's the one."
"Timothy won't be happy." Lara shared a laugh with the First Commander on that one. Oh he would be absolutely pissed. But there wasn't anything could do about it. "I'll inform them all." The First Commander rose and gave Lara a solute. Lara returned it. "This mission is very important Lara. Do not mess it up." With that she closed the door.
Lara headed to her chair and sank down into it. In three days she would begin the journey home... It would have excited almost everyone. It frightened her to the core. Reaching into her desk, Lara pulled out the medical waiver and began to fill it out.

Rekka could sense something wasn't right about this Timothy. Not that he was an evil man or anything like that. It was just that it was quite obvious he was the sort that didn't take any nonsense. Getting on his bad side told her that might not be such a good idea. As she stepped into the room along with Lara, she looked back at Timothy in silence. He had acknowledged Lara's presence. After a moment, Lara stepped forward and closed the door behind her. Once that was done, she sprung into talking about why they were here.
In the background, Rekka remained respectively quiet as she listened to what was being said. She informed him that she had a new recruit and would be giving her a medical waiver so that Rekka could get some medicine. At least right now, she figured that Rekka could get started with the protocol and contract. After a short moment, the man replied with what sounded to Rekka like sarcasm.
At this, Lara had suddenly placed a hand on her shoulder as if trying to reassure her before leaving the room. Rekka watched her go before turning her attention back onto Timothy. The man had given a sigh and took a seat at his desk. Rekka had the feeling right now that if she spoke up that she might push the wrong buttons on this man. So, she remained respectfully quiet until he would address her. Not speaking to her just yet, the man pulled out a long sheet of paper from a drawer. Once he had, Captain Timothy went into explaining things to her.
That paper was for Rekka to sign. Rekka had until 8 AM tomorrow or her contract would be null. The moment she came back and stepped in here tomorrow was when she was this captain's recruit to train under. She was to do what he said when he said it. She wasn't to do anything unless she was told to. The way he stated that he didn't need to know her name made Rekka wonder. Apparently, she had been right from her first impression of the man. He sounded severe and tough. Definitely not the type to get on the wrong side of. He didn't even expect her to make it through the first few days! She would be joining a class of thirty people. Only half were expected to graduate. How one ranked based on their graduation depended on the person's physical and mental abilities. Whatever happens after that wasn't for him to tell her. Maybe her rank was based off of how well she did during this class? It was then that he had asked her if there were any questions.
Honestly, Rekka couldn't think of any questions for this. It seemed pretty straight forward. There weren't any questions that she could think of right now. "No, sir." She shook her head to confirm that she hadn't anything to ask at this point. Timothy didn't seem to really care whether she did or not as he had gone to fish out a pen from his desk. Once he got the pen, he informed her that once she was ready, she was to sign that paper. In response, Rekka gave a nod as she walked over to the desk and took the pen from him.
Rekka skimmed the paper for a short moment before locating where she was to sign. Unlike people with two eyes, reading was a little harder for someone with just one. Of course, she could read without glasses. That wasn't a problem at all. Once she was sure where to sign, she scribbled her name in her penmanship on the line and handed Timothy back his pen. She wasn't aware of the fact that Lara was speaking to the head Commander right now or what assignment she had in store for Lara and that Lara had chosen her to accompany Lara and the other three on the mission.
Patiently, Rekka waited for Timothy's response. Was there more or could she leave? Until she knew for certain, she remained put and politely waited for the captain to tell her that she was dismissed or carry on with what other task he had for her to do.

After signing the contract, Timothy rolled it up and got up out of the chair. He headed over to the file cabinet and placed the contract with thirty others in one of the drawers. Closing it, he opened another and took out three sheets of paper. Each was a waiver for different things. "These are three waivers. Do not loose them and I won't be giving you another copy." Giving her the first he said, "This is a waiver for the female barracks. It will get you a room to stay in. Bring it to Captain Golding, she is in charge of the new recruits in the female barracks. At the moment we have an odd number of female recruits so you'll have a room to yourself I would imagine." The second waiver was also important. "This waiver is for armor, the army uniform, and the practice sword. Only those who have passed graduation are allowed to wear weapons around here. You are to keep that weapon of yours in your room. You bring this waiver to Captain Golding as well. She'll see to it you get everything you need. New recruits are required to wear there army uniform at all times. Armor will be used in the following weeks." "This third waiver will let you into the gates after dark. New recruits are not allowed to go outside these grounds until after graduation or unless you leave for good. However if you return tonight, you'll need this to get in..." He handed her the third waiver. It was at about this time that Lara knocked on the door. Timothy rolled his eyes. "Come in." He said. Stepping in Lara glanced at Rekka and Captain Timothy. The man was getting tired of her visits. She could already tell. "I'll let the First Commander inform the Captain. Rekka will learn probably the last minute."[/i] Lara wasn't about to open pandora's box just yet. "Here's the waiver. The medical center is in this building. Is she all free to go Captain?" Captain Timothy, with his face stuck in a frown and eyes condescending just motioned for them to get out with his hand. "Don't loose those waivers recruit." Was the last thing he said as Lara headed out of the room. The fastest way to the medical office was actually going back outside and then through the soldier's entrance. But Lara figured it would be better to just go the slightly longer way. Besides this way she could show Rekka where her office was. Heading down the hallway and turning the corner she stopped at her office. It read Captain Lara F. "This is my office in case you ever need to find me. I'm a pretty busy person, so I might not always be here. But if you need to get in touch with me you could always slip something under the door." Lara had made sure to lock the door this time. From there it was only a matter of going to the end the hall and through a side door. This led to a much larger hallway, the back of the soldier's facilities. They were in the classroom sections of the building. There were a large amount of lockers and classrooms that they passed. "Eventually you'll be taking classes here. Probably not for a while though. Until your here for more then a year, even after you graduate, you'll be called new recruit. You won't earn your name for those above you until you either become a Captain. You'll always be soldier or new recruit until then." It was just the way of things here in His Majesties Army. "If you have any questions feel free to ask me." Lara also informed her as they walked passed the last section of classrooms and were now walking pass the large dining hall. Two large doors served as an entrance for the soldiers, and if Rekka peeked in she'd see large lines of tables and chairs with a buffet like style area at the back of the room. The food was all cooked in a room that connected to the other side of the mess hall. Finally they came to the medical office. It was set up pretty much like any doctor's office. Except it was mostly empty. A clear glass door was the entrance, and Lara opened it and led them in. There a woman in a nurses outfit stood behind a desk looking at papers. "Captain Lara, how can I help you?" "I have a new recruit here who needs some medicine. You can tell her whatever it is you need or the symptoms if you are not sure."((OOC: Feel free to control the nurse. I don't know if you want Rekka's mother to have the medicine or not so I thought this would give you the opportunity to decide or wateves ))

Rekka watched as the captain took the sheet of paper, rolled it up and headed toward the file cabinet. In one of the drawers, he plopped it in amongst a set of others before taking out three more sheets of paper from another drawer. As she stood there, Timothy spoke to her informing her that the sheets of papers he had were all waivers. He informed her then to not lose them and that he wouldn't be giving her any copies.
"Yes, sir."
As Timothy handed her the first waiver, Rekka listened to him as he explained that it was a waiver for the female barracks. She was to hand Captain Golding this waiver so that Rekka could get a room amongst the other women in the barracks. Supposedly, due to the odd number, Rekka would most likely end up with a room to herself. Even if she had a room mate, Rekka didn't mind. It wasn't like she had a lot to lose anyways should the room mate turn out to be a thief. She doubted though that she'd deal with that sort of situation since this was the kingdom's army and barracks. This was nothing like school.
As Timothy handed her the second waiver, he explained that it was a waiver for armor, the army uniform and the practice sword. As for wearing weapons, only graduates are allowed to walk around with a weapon on them. Her personal weapon would have to remain in her room for the time being. Rekka gave an understanding nod in response to this. This waiver was to be brought before Captain Golding as well so that she would see to it what Rekka needed. New recruits were required to wear their army uniform at all times. As for the armor, it would be used in the following weeks.
Now, the third waiver. The third and final waiver was to let Rekka back into the gates after dark. New recruits weren't allowed to go outside the grounds until after graduation or unless she intended to leave for good. If she returned tonight, Rekka would need this waiver to get back in. She gave another nod of understanding as she took the final waiver. Just after this was when a knock was heard. Timothy informed the knocker to come in and sure enough, there was Commander Lara again. Rekka looked over at her, noticing the tension in the air again. Timothy definitely didn't seem to like her or Rekka.
Oblivious to what might happen later in three days' time, Rekka was handed the waiver that Lara claimed she would get for her. She then told her that the medical center was here inside this building. After saying this, she then turned to Captain Timothy and asked him if Rekka was free to go. Not even answering verbally, the Captain simply motioned for them to go. Careful to make sure she had all of the waivers she had been handed, as Captain Timothy reminded her to not lose them, Rekka headed out with Commander Lara.
Following Commander Lara, Rekka looked at her surroundings as they went. They passed many offices along the way. Once they rounded the corner, they came to a stop. Curious about why they had stopped, Rekka looked over at the office before them. It read "Commander Lara F". As soon as Rekka started to wonder if this was the Commander's office, Lara said that it was. It was here that Rekka should be able to find her. However, as was obvious, Lara would be busy at times. If Rekka needed to get in touch with her, she could slip something under the door.
"Yes, ma'am."
After this, they continued on their way. This time, they went down a larger hallway. Here, Rekka could see a large amount of lockers and rooms that looked like some sort of lecture halls or classrooms. No doubt, this must be the school portion of the building. It would be in here, it seemed, where Rekka would be taking her classes. Sure enough, Lara explained this was the area where she would be taking her classes but not for a while though. If she makes it to a year being here and graduates, she will still be referred to as a new recruit. Her name, even, wouldn't be earned by those higher than her and she would be called soldier or new recruit unless she was lucky enough to make it to Captain status. That explained how Captain Timothy acted when referring to her name. It was just after this explanation that Commander Lara told her that if she should have any questions then she could feel free to ask her.
"Understood."
Finally, they went past what appeared to be some kind of cafeteria. Then, they came to what appeared to be a glass door. Entering through this, they found the medical center. Rekka looked around in wonder. Could this finally be the end of her troubles with her mother's health? She really hoped so. In fact, Rekka was feeling pretty optimistic about the idea.
As soon as they had stepped inside, the woman who looked like a nurse looked over at them. Addressing Commander Lara, the nurse asked her if there was anything that she could get for her. It was here when Lara told her that Rekka was here for medicine. Then, Lara directed the rest of what she had to say to Rekka about addressing what illness that her mother had or symptoms if she wasn't sure. Rekka thought for a moment about her mother's illness. It was pretty severe but she felt if she could just find a healer or some kind of medicine for the right stuff, she'd be golden.
"Well, she's constantly bedridden. I can't get her out of bed unless she has to go to the bathroom. I have to bring everything to her bed so that she can eat and drink. She seems to have a very raspy breathing and always coughing as if she has a lot of phlegm in her lungs but can't get rid of it. Almost always, she's bundled in a blanket if she can help it." Rekka wasn't sure what to call it but she figured it had to be some sort of illness that bothered the lungs. It wasn't the flu though. Even when the nurse had asked that, Rekka had shook her head.
As if in thought, the nurse turned, getting out of her seat and headed over to what appeared to be her pharmacy section of the hospital wing or medical center. Patiently, Rekka stood there as she bit her lip. Maybe they couldn't help her mother? That fear was creeping up on her again. After a moment, the nurse came back with what appeared to be some kind of pill bottle. Handing it to her, the nurse told her that it was for what sounded like pneumonia and that what she had given Rekka was an anitbiotic. However, she wanted Rekka to know that there were two types of pneumonia. Hopefully, it was the bacterial rather than the viral. The viral form was far more difficult to treat.
"Oh, alright...thank you!" Rekka said, smiling over at the nurse despite her inner dread of it being the viral form. Pneumonia was bad enough as the bacterial form. It didn't need to be the other one. Rekka didn't want to lose her sole surviving family member. Now, Rekka was ready to either fill in the rest of the waivers she had been handed or to head out if Lara didn't have anything in mind for her after this. (OOC: It's fine lol. I'm kinda teetering on whether to enable her to have her mother well after this or not cuz I'm evil lol. Sorry this took me so long, proboards kept crashing.)

Lara was glad to see everything was taken care of. This was all she could really do for Rekka at the moment. "This building is kind of confusing, so I'll walk you out of it. From there you are on your own." Lara gave an appreciative nod to the nurse before exiting out of the medical office.
Instead of going back the way they came, Lara decided it would be better to just go out the soldier's entrance. It wasn't too far from here. Continuing down the hallway, Lara walked past a couple of more office like doors. The armies weapons and armors were located in a separate building outside of the training grounds. They were closer to the actual castle, for easy access to the Royal Watch.
The Royal Watch was another one of those elite group of soldiers and captains who worked in the castle itself. Only the best made the Royal Watch. There was also an aggravating selection process. Lara originally had thought about trying for the Royal Watch, but she decided she liked the freedom of the Army better.
Finally Lara came to the soldier's entrance. They were two large red doors. Opening them and stepping outside, Lara breathed in the fresh air. "This is where we part. It was nice meeting you Rekka. I'll be seeing you again really soon." Of course Rekka had no clue as to how soon that would really be.

Rekka turned to Lara after thanking the nurse. Commander Lara told her the building was kind of confusing and that she'd walk her out of it. Once they were out of it, Rekka would be on her own again. Rekka gave an understanding nod. "Thank you, Commander Lara." With that, the pair of them left the nurse's office. Once again, they headed down the hallway passing more offices.
There were two large, red double doors that lay before them. It appeared as if they were headed right for them. No doubt, this had to be the exit they would be taking. Sure enough, Rekka could see what looked to be the outside. As Commander Lara opened the door, she got a whiff of fresh air. It was refreshing to be outside again.
Lara spoke to her. Rekka looked over at her as she listened to her. This was where they would part. Rekka smiled over at her and nodded in agreement. "Yes, it was nice meeting you too despite how odd the circumstance was. I guess fate works in strange ways. Glad we could meet. I will see you too. Farewell, Commander Lara." She wasn't sure of how soon she'd see her again but she knew being in the same area that she would eventually. Since Commander Lara was a busy person, Rekka couldn't see her often like she would a friend. Still, it was a pleasure to have met her.
Rekka gave Lara a friendly farewell wave and headed out, carrying the medicine full of hope. Finally, an answer to her worries. This time, she could do something to help her mother and no longer worry. It was a very good feeling considering how unlucky they had been in the past. Walking a certain distance away from the building, Rekka went all the way to the gates so that she could familiarize herself with them. She didn't want to use the portal beans too early and not recognize where the gates were. She figured there were some sort of wards or what not that protected this place from getting teleported into via such methods. If she did, she didn't want to alarm the guards here into action.
Once reaching the gates, she glanced over at the guards guarding it. They glanced over at her before simply opening them up, as if her presence and exiting didn't phase them. Relieved that she wouldn't be questioned about it, Rekka exited the gates and watched as the guards shut them behind her. Taking in the sight of the gates, Rekka made sure she committed them to memory before taking out a portal bean from her little bag. Tossing it in front of her, Rekka watched as a portal sparked up right where the bean had made impact with the ground. It extended upward six feet into the air before her, opening wide. As soon as it did this, Rekka stepped through and into the portal.
It didn't take long before she stepped out into Radiant Garden right before her home. It wasn't like it used to be, showing signs of negligence but it couldn't be helped. The house went down a bit ever since that incident. Walking up to the lonely door, Rekka took out her key, unlocked it and stepped inside. It was quiet save for the distant rasps. It was her mother's lungs and even now, the pneumonia wasn't relenting.
Hoping for the best, Rekka approached where her mother rested. She wasn't doing very well. If this kept going on for much longer, Rekka was sure her mother would die without medicine. Thankfully, she had an antibiotic that should remedy it. At least, that's what she was hoping for. Entering her mother's room, Rekka looked down at her sickly mother. Yes, she was very sickly indeed.
"Mother?" Rekka spoke to her mother. Rekka's mother looked over at her from her bed and gave her a weak smile despite how she was feeling. "I've got medicine for you, mom!" Rekka told her, smiling back down at her as she approached the edge of her mother's bed. This caused Rekka's mother to sit up and look at her daughter in wonder.
"How did you get it, Rekka?" she asked her.
"I went to Cornelia. There, I ran into some friends. They want me to work for them, mom and gave me this medicine to give to you so you can get better." Rekka's mother raised her eyebrows as she took the medicine from Rekka's hand. Reading the side of the medicine's label, Rekka's mother took out a tablet and popped it into her mouth. Rekka fetched her mother a glass of water and she drank it down. From what the medicine read, it would take her mother two to three days to start feeling better.
"Thank you so much, Rekka. I'm glad that you found some friends for once after...well, I'm happy you have found some friends now. I'll get better but I want you to give me a means of contacting you while you're there. I can't go to that world in my condition. You said you'll be working there? Well, take care honey. Don't worry about me. With that medicine, I know I'll get better."
Rekka gave a nod, smiling at her mother. "I will mom. If you need to find me, I will be at the castle's barracks there. You've the portal beans and should be able to reach me if you need to. I'm sure they will take letters from you. I'll see you when I have time, mother but that won't be for a while..." Rekka went silent then as she realized that she might be spending more time away from here than she thought. Her mother couldn't travel, that much was true. Especially when they didn't have a means to get a home there. Traveling would be easy, of course, it's just the finding a home thing. No doubt, once well enough, her mother would have to do that on her own if she could. Rekka couldn't help her anymore than she already did and her mother told her that. Still, it did make Rekka feel a little sad. Parting with her mother wouldn't be for too long but it was always something to feel sorry about.
"Alright then...I'll get some of my things and head out. I have to be there before the next day for that world and I don't know how soon their time flies there compared to here. I'll send you letters, mom!" With that, the two gave each other a hug as Rekka made her way to her room. There, she picked up several pairs of clothes and other essentials she believed that she would need while in Cornelia. Once done, she headed back.
"Goodbye, mom. Take care!" With that, Rekka headed out, unaware of the things she would return to back at the barracks. Having ensured that she signed where she needed to with the waivers, Rekka portaled before the gates. It was already nightfall compared to Radiant Garden. Heading over to the guards, Rekka held out the waiver that Timothy had given her. Inspecting it, the guard that got it nodded at the other guard and they opened it. Rekka made her way in and was escorted by one of the guards there. He took her all the way to where the female barracks were and to Captain Golding's office. There, Captain Golding saw to it that she got what she needed via the waivers Rekka handed to her and lead her to her room.
It was a small building compared to the larger ones next to it but it was pretty decently sized inside too. It was far larger than Rekka's home, that was for sure. Being taken to room 125, Rekka entered her dormitory room. She was the only resident in this room. Apparently, it was like what Captain Timothy had said. Setting her things down in the appropriate areas, Rekka headed to the bed and went to sleep. Unaware of the trouble that would be taking place three days from now.

Commander Lara watched her go, keeping an eye on her until she turned the corner towards the gates and out of sight. "Guess, I better start on paper work then." She said to herself aloud. Truthfully there was much for her to do in the office. Work for a Division Commander was endless. Thinking back to her first day as a new recruit Lara knew what would Rekka would be in store for. The early wake ups, the endless running and physical training. Captain Timothy spared no one, and he would push Rekka all the harder. The first week was nothing but screams in your face, ridiculous pointless tasks, and endless training. By the end of the night she'd be exhausted. But it would train her. It would help boost her own physique. Not by too much in three days, but it would help.
Heading back inside, Commander Lara made her way to her office and started on that paperwork.
-----------------------------
Night had fallen on the Central Village in Elfhiem. The sound of the forest was mixed with the voices of the largest village in Elfhiem. The Chief Elder stood before his home, a large palace made into the natural formations of the largest oak tree in the forest. The tree towered over the others, and its base was as wide as any house. It was the only home of its kind left, having been created thousands of years ago by the first elves.
Around the large oak, other smaller homes were made, using the trees naturally. The elves respected the nature of the trees, and did there best to work with them and not cut them down. Around a hundred people made there home in this central village, and all looked to the elder for his wisdom. It was a aggravating task, but it had its perks as it did now. The village elder stood surrounded by the children elves and some of their parents. They all listened to the story he was telling.
"Tell me what he did children? What did the Great Falhorn do when he learned that his enchanted horn was stolen?" The Chief Elder was an elf that stood at about six feet. He held the youthfulness of his thirties, but his hair was long and white as snow. His eyes held a deep wisdom, and face a smile. Dressed in green robes, brown sandals, and a crown with a fox emblem on the sides of his head, he seemed very much an average elf except for the crown.
"I know! He chased after them!" One of the elven children stated.
"Is that right?" The Chief Elder asked the other children. They all seemed to agree with their peers.
"Look at him telling stories like a little child! The chief elder has more to do then just stand and tell foolish myths!" Kanam thought as he passed by the scene. He stood shorter then the Chief Elder, with a slim body, black spectacles, and dressed in white pants, a long blue coat, and a black cape around his shoulders. The hood was pulled back revealing his long hair. Part of it, the area immediately around his head, was black while the part flowing down his shoulder had turned white.
Kanam was a scholar. At one point in his life he had been something... else... But that time had long passed. Now he was a simple scholar. But he was one of the strongest elves in Elfhiem in terms of magic and smarts. He did not have much physical power, but his knowledge and magic was his strength. "You should die already ya foolish elf!" Kanam thought as he continued past the Great Oak. He should be the Chief Elder!
"I would have been too...." He started to think, but just shook his head of the thought. There was no point in thinking of those things now. Kanam had moved on from his past. For now he continued to study his books. He had actually spent the majority of the day looking at his books. He had just gone out for an evening stroll to stretch his legs when he had crossed the scene with the Chief Elder.
Currently he was heading slightly away from the many homes. He was walking towards the path and exit of the village. "Best go back I guess. Perhaps a bit more reading before bed." Kanam said aloud. Thankfully no one was around him to hear. They were all either in their homes or by the Giant Oak.
Turning around, Kanam started to walk back. But periodically every few steps he paused because of a rustling sound behind him. "What was that?" He asked himself. Was it an animal? Glancing back he saw nothing but the darkness and the trees near him. "This is what I have been reduced too now? Jumping at the slightest sounds?" Oh how far he had fallen!
Sighing, he turned his head back and froze. A hooded figure stood in front of him about ten feet away. "Lofar is that you?" Kanam asked. Lofar was one of his fellow scholars. He was always treating the books so unkindly though. They often swapped books, but the books that Kanam lent him were never the same after Lofar read them.
"No I believe not." A voice said... A familiar voice.
Kanam knew that voice! He couldn't believe it! His heart beat so loud that he was sure that the figure could hear it. "...It cannot be!" Kanam said in total disbelief. This must be some sorcery!
The figure reached forward and pulled back the hood. A young elvan face greeted Kanam. With long black hair, sharp features, and olive skin, Kanam knew then that what he was seeing could only be the real thing. He fell to his knees in blind obedience. "My Prince!"
Kanam made sure to keep his head bent down. What did this mean? He had thought that the black haired prince had died with the emperor, his father. Kanam himself had watched the emperor die before he had fleed. "Are you here to take my life?" Perhaps this was vengeance. Kanam had run. He had fleeded disgracefully.
"Rise you fool! And keep your voice down." Kanam did as he was told. "I have a message for you from my father."
Now Kanam's heart was really beating! It couldn't be! But how?! He had watched him die! "I..."
The Prince's eyes narrowed. "My father wishes you to know that he would like you by his side again as one of his trusted generals. He is creating a new Eleven. And he knew you would love to join him."
Kanam replied in a heartbeat. "Of course sir! I am ready to go right this moment! Take me to his magnificence! I am ready!"
The Prince shook his head. "Not so hasty Kanam. You must prove yourself first. A party of humans will be entering Elfhiem. They are coming here. You must not let that happen! They must perish before so. Watch the entrance, and make sure they do not pass. We will be watching you Kanam. Do not fail, or there will be consequences."
Kanam was not scared of any humans. He had killed hundreds of them in the Universal War. "I fear no human." He said with confidence.
The Prince nodded. "Good... We will be watching." The Prince pulled the hood over his head, turned, and then Kanam watched him just disappear in the darkness. One moment he was there walking, the next the darkness seemed to consume him and he was gone.

Rekka's next three days were pretty busy. Still, she didn't give up. Rekka was thrown into a lot of things, shouting in her face, being told to do really odd tasks that she thought were pointless but did them without complaint, and a lot of physical training. Of course, compared to those who had been at it much longer than herself, Rekka still had a ways to go. Just three days alone wouldn't make her an expert. Rekka knew this and bore with it. It was all necessary to learn more about the sword her father had given her.
Determined, Rekka did as she could. There were plenty of times where she wondered if she was even making it but she didn't give up. It was just three days but she had come far from home. Rekka also believed that there would be no backing out if her mother needed more help. She hoped her mother was doing well. The two had yet to exchange letters. Either way, Rekka couldn't back out now. There was no time to give up.
Captain Timothy didn't seem to like that either. The guy was extremely tough on them but even more so, it seemed, if you were a girl. It were as if he singled the women out on purpose. Never the less, Rekka took what was thrown at her quietly without complaint. There were times, she was sure, where she half considered smacking the Captain but thought better of it every time. She knew better than to let anger get the best of her. Eventually, she'd be free of this captain. For now, she was just going to have to stick through it all and keep going despite his dislike of her doing so.
By the time three days was reached, Rekka had no idea that she would get a brief, momentary reprieve from Captain Timothy's evil clutches. Well, maybe not evil but he certainly wasn't a friendly fellow. Rekka had been out during their usual early morning routine. They would get screamed at after being woken up with a loud horn, then sent out to run the tracks and other sorts of obstacles. Only then were they allowed back in to eat breakfast and even that was a task. If you didn't eat a certain way, you would get yelled at and get told to do fifty push ups. Rekka always seemed to, for some reason despite how hard she tried, ended up with said fifty push ups without failure. It was frustrating but the physical training helped her focus on that rather than focusing on fantasizing what she'd do to the Captain to vent her frustration on him.
If anyone were looking for her, they'd soon find Rekka outside again during a second physical training right after breakfast. Outside, she would be forced to run the track again. It was a good thing she didn't have asthma. Rekka didn't think anyone with breathing problems could withstand this training regimen.

"No you cannot do this! She is only three days old! You have no right!" Captain Timothy shouted. He stood by the recruits as they began to gather after breakfast for another round of running. His back was facing the gathering recruits, who were all watching so silently that you could hear a pin drop.
In front of him was someone that they most likely had never seen before. They might have heard of her long gray hair and blue eyes though. The First Commander raised an eyebrow at the Captain's words. "I'd watch yourself Captain." She threatened openly.
Captain Timothy was beat red and clearly livid. Whatever it was that they were talking about, it couldn't be good. Mumbling under his breath he shouted, "Rekka! Get your but over here."
The First Commander smiled in return. There was nothing Captain Timothy could do. He could not ignore a direct command from her. Not if he wanted to loose his job. When she finally did arrive, there would be no needed for her to fetch her things. The First Commander had already gone and had her secretary grab them.
"Listen up recruit. You've been selected to go on a mission. I have no idea why! But those are the orders. The First Commander here will take you to the front gate." The Captain continued to mumble under his breath as he turned around and The First Commander began to lead the way towards the front gate. From behind she heard the man shout, "What are you standing around here for?! Double laps!"
Ah he was a funny one! The First Commander smiled. "He's a hard man, but a good trainer. He can be just a tad stuck up sometimes." She said with a chuckle. Commander Lara waited at the gate with five horses. Each horse had a pack by its saddle and one had Rekka's sword. She spotted the First Commander, who no doubt was bringing the first member of her party.

Rekka, along with the other recruits, turned at the sound of the Captain's shouting. Wondering what the fuss was about, everyone had turned their heads to look over at Captain Timothy. There was a woman standing there that she didn't recognize. Rekka had never seen her before but by the way she was speaking to Timothy, it sounded as if she were some sort of superior. It was clear by the way she had addressed the man, telling him to watch himself.
Glancing over at the captain, it was easy to see that he was rather furious over something. It was much to Rekka's surprise when Captain Timothy suddenly shouted out for her to get her butt over there. Confused beyond anything, Rekka scurried over wondering why he wanted her to come over here. As she looked from him to the woman, she waited for either to speak. As soon as she had gotten there, Captain Timothy spoke to her. She was to be sent out on a mission and that this woman was the First Commander. Rekka's eyebrows rose at this. Why was she being sent out so soon? Timothy seemed to wonder the same thing. Oh well, nothing could be done about it. Hopefully, wherever she was going, wasn't going to be as unpleasant as a fire breathing Captain Timothy here now that he was angry.
The First Commander already turned to lead the way. Rekka, saluting Captain Timothy as she reminded herself of her manners, headed after the First Commander. Would Captain Timothy make her pay for something someone else made her do? Oh well, nothing could be helped at this point. She would brave it out if she had to. That is, if she came back alive. Rekka was still new to battle, after all. As they walked, she heard the First Commander speaking to her. According to her, Timothy was a hard man but a good trainer but one that could be stuck up at times. Not sure if what she'd say would reach back to Timothy, Rekka chose to be quiet about her opinion but merely nodded to show she had heard her speaking.
Outside, she could see at the front gates five horses. One of them had Commander Lara astride it. Rekka's eyebrows rose. Was there something that Lara thought she could do? Either way, her spirits lifted. Commander Lara was a good person. It looked like they were meeting up much sooner than Rekka had thought. One of the horses, she could see, had a sword packed onto it. As if it were calling over to her, Rekka guessed that it was her father's sword. It had to be considering she always had that feeling whenever she was within twenty or so feet of it.
"Commander Lara!" she greeted, saluting her.

Commander Lara nodded to Rekka's salute, returning it as well. She also gave the First Commander a salute and received the save. "He's furious. Once he finds out you're the one leading this he's going to be on you like a dog." The First Commander was telling Lara.
She just rolled her eyes. She wasn't afraid of Captain Timothy. "Well then he'll find that I'm not some kitten he can bark at." This made the First Commander smile.
"Be careful out there. Heartless have increased on the roads. A bad omen surely." Lara could only nod. She wasn't afraid of heartless, but she would be careful. There wasn't anything more to say, so the First Commander took her leave, heading back the way she came. Leaving only Lara and Rekka, Lara gave her a smile as well.
"You can head over to your horse. Were waiting on three others. Then we'll be heading out. It's going to be a bit of a journey before we reach our destination. And it won't necessarily be a safe one. You'll be using that sword of yours by the time this is through." Lara wasn't lying.
Back when Amber had first made her way from Elfhiem she had encountered all kinds of enemies. Heartless, nobodies, goblins and orcs, bandits and thieves, even some undead enemies. Being only one person she had managed to sneak by most enemies unnoticed. But she had seen her battles on the way. Particularly through the mountain pass. It was the hardest part of their upcoming journey. But once they got through that, they would be just miles away from the Enchanted forest.

Rekka watched as Lara exchanged a similar salute before saluting the First Commander as well. After the exchanges, the First Commander spoke to Lara stating that Captain Timothy was angry and that he would be after her over this once he found out. It had been obvious he was upset. Rekka was sure that she probably had hell to pay herself. She didn't complain though. This wasn't something she had expected but she would go with it.
Commander Lara simply replied that Captain Timothy would find that she's not some kitten for him to bark at. This seemed to amuse the First Commander since she had smiled in return hearing that. Afterward, the First Commander warranted for them to be careful and that there were more Heartless on the road ahead of them. No doubt, something was going on in wherever it was they were going. Rekka wasn't sure what help she would be in such a mission. She was brand new and though she learned some new things, she wasn't anywhere near where she should be for someone going on a mission like this one.
"Thank you, ma'am. I'll keep that in mind while we're out there." Rekka gave a nod to confirm this. After that, the First Commander had left the two of them behind with the five horses. Turning her attention back toward Lara who was smiling over at her. When she spoke, Rekka gave a nod and headed over to the horse where she could feel her father's sword seemingly calling out to her. Why she had such a sense with the sword, she didn't know. It always seemed to call out to her though. Even when she was young, when her father kept it up on display on the mantelpiece in the past, she always was drawn to look at it. It was the only thing she had that reminded her of her father and home.
As she climbed astride the horse, she looked over at Lara wondering who she had come along with them on this mission. Maybe some familiar faces? Whatever the case, she didn't mind which. Rekka just hoped that she would be of some use and help on this mission. "Alright, I just hope I'll be of some help in this..." she replied to Lara. After all, she still had her blind spot and it wasn't easy for her to detect things since she hadn't the proper training to prepare her enough to sense things better.
"I'll try to be careful, Commander Lara." (OOC: Sorry for taking so long, I'm extremely ill so posting is tough on my end.)

((OOC: Oh no probs. Take your time I m in no rush))
Lara watched Rekka climb onto her horse. Listening to her Lara just rolled her eyes and shook her head. "I don't make mistakes in making partys very often Soldier Rekka. Even though you're a new recruit, on this mission you will be a soldier. Everyone brings something to a group. Sometimes we don't even realize it ourselves."
As she finished speaking to her, the second member of their party arrived. Captain Justin was dressed pretty similar to before, just without armor. Instead he donned a sleeveless shirt and black pants. He had a traveling pack on his back, along with his large sword in hand. "I shoulda known it was you!" He said as he noticed Lara on top of her horse.
"They told me I was joining a party in a mission outside of the kingdom. I thought to myself, could only be one person!"
Commander Lara couldn't help but laugh. It was good to have Captain Justin in the party. He headed over to one of the horses, and placed his pack in a rope securely attached to the back. "And good to see you too Rekka. I didn't think you'd be going on this mission too. Miss Bossy hasn't told you where were going yet has she?" He asked Rekka.
Commander Lara woulda slugged him if he wasn't out of her range. "Hey! That's Captain for this mission!"
Captain Justin rolled his eyes, though with his front facing Rekka and back facing Lara, she couldn't see it. "My bad. Has Captain Miss Bossy told you where were going yet?"
"What's it matter where were going Tiny?! Either way we're together for the first time in years!" If Rekka was watching Justin they would have seen his shoulders literally bounce up and his eyes go wide.
"Oh no you didn't!" Captain Justin said as he slowly turned around. Standing behind him was literally a seven foot tiger. Standing on two legs and dressed in a white sleeveless shirt, red pants, and golden armor that matched the fur on his skin except for the occasional black, Captain Ty was a living breathing tiger. His arms were muscled and his claws were just as deadly as the kantana on his hip. He did not bring a traveling pack, nor did he need it. His eyes were brown and cheeks were dotted with black dots and white whiskers.
Captain Ty was like a monster compared to Captain Justin. "Oh yes she did!" With one hand Ty grabbed Justin by the collar, picked him up, and placed him onto his horse.
"I hope you don't mind that I didn't get you a horse, Captain."
Ty raised an eyebrow as he glanced at Lara. "Why would I want to ride one of these stupid animals. They have a brain the size of a peanut!"
Lara really was all smiles. These were her friends. The closest people she had in her company. It had been two years since they were last together. Captain Ty was not under her division, and she barley saw the tiger because he was often working somewhere outside of the city. His animalistic attributes were very helpful for the army.
Captain Ty finally looked at Rekka. He walked over to her, his mouth curved in a smile. "And look at who we have here! I might be a tiger, but I can control these claws very well for... delicate purposes." He told her with a wink. "Just give it a thought."
"Ty stop it! You're scaring her." Captain Ty was a womanizer too and through.
"Once you go kitty you won't ever want any other diddly."
Lara's mouth opened in shock. Apparently Ty's raise to Captain had only made his womanizing worse through the years. "Ty!"
The Captain let out a chuckle, and Lara heard Justin joining in too. "She ain't afraid of me. I'm just a pussy cat." Thankfully though the Captain went over to stand by Justin. Lara mouthed sorry to Rekka. Now they were just waiting on the last member of their party.
They didn't have to wait long before Soldier Lucas joined them. He was a young man, perhaps the same age as Rekka and Lara, with shaggy silver hair tied in a red bandana over his forehead. Dressed without a shirt, he did however carry a pack just as Justin had and was dressed in baggy red pants, brown tall boots, and brown gloves. His hazel eyes locked on Lara as he gave her a salute as he approached. "Reporting for duty mam." His voice was soft yet, sincere.
"Thank you for coming. Thank you all for coming. Today we will be heading out of the kingdom for quite some time. We travel through much of the land, through the mountain pass, and finally to the Enchanted Forest." Lara waited for Lucas to pack his horse and stride it before she turned hers as she prepared to leave.
Next to her both Captain Ty and Captain Justin looked worried at the news that they had just heard. "This isn't going to be good. Were going to get ourselves killed going there." Captain Justin said.
Captain Ty nodded in turn. Lucas seemed confused, as probably anyone would who didn't know what awaited them there.

Rekka, as she settled onto the saddle of her horse, looked back over at Lara when she spoke. Rekka hoped that she was right. Not that Rekka believed she was wrong. It's just Rekka didn't have confidence in herself being so new compared to the Commander and whomever else she had chosen for this assignment. They had yet to see who else was coming along. Honestly, Rekka didn't think anyone else would be as new as herself in this mission anyway.
'I hope so, Lara. I wouldn't want to disappoint you,' Rekka thought to herself. "I trust your decision, Commander Lara." She left it at that. Inside, she honestly didn't trust herself. What could the Commander possibly see in someone like her? A half blind person with barely any training with her sword?
No sooner had the two finished talking when another figure arrived on the scene. It was a familiar face. It was none other than Captain Justin. The way he addressed the Commander was amusing. The two clearly had a history once before. Lara laughed in response to his words. Justin knew Lara well enough to know that someone like her would request his participation on a mission. As he was securing a rope to his horse to put his pack on its back, Rekka gave the captain a salute when he greeted her.
"Good to see you too, Captain Justin." What he said next caught Rekka off guard a bit. The way he addressed Commander Lara made her raise her eyebrows. It was at this moment that Lara objected to that, telling him that she was captain in this mission. Justin rolled his eyes at this where Lara couldn't see him before proceeding to call Lara, "Captain Miss Bossy".
"Well, no-!" Rekka made to say before the arrival of someone else drew their attention away. Apparently, Justin recognized the voice as he sat straight up, eyes wide with surprise. Turning away, he looked over at who else arrived on the scene. Rekka looked up...quite literally. There was a seven foot tall tiger walking on two legs! Rekka had never seen such a being before on Radiant Garden. Granted, they did have walking and talking ducks or Moogles on occasion but nothing to this extent. Figures that such a large world here though would be so diverse anyways with races and species.
The tiger simply responded that Lara had and plucked Captain Justin from the ground and placed him on his horse as if he were simply a toy or small child. As he did so, Lara spoke to the tiger, calling him captain and saying that she hoped he didn't mind that she hadn't gotten him a horse. In response, the tiger simply stated that he wouldn't ride a horse anyway since they didn't have a very large brain. It seemed that the three knew each other very well. Rekka felt a little out of place since she didn't exactly know them. Lara and Justin she had only met yesterday, after all.
It was after these brief exchanges when the tiger finally turned its attention on her. Nothing could have prepared her for the greeting that the feline gave her. Rekka blinked up at him rather obliviously. She wasn't accustom to being hit on, after all. So, she didn't exactly recognize it at first. As she gave the tiger a confused look, she heard Lara's response about how he was scaring her. Scaring her with what? Rekka didn't even know what to make of the response he gave her until she thought over it for a moment and realized it was actually a lewd comment. The realization made her ears redden in embarrassment. Especially with what he went on to say next.
The tiger's name was soon revealed to be Ty and despite Lara's protests, he was still quite the lewd one. Throughout, Rekka was struck speechless. How the heck did someone even respond to that? The tiger didn't seem to care whether or not she replied as he simply went to stand beside Captain Justin. The two seemed to find it funny. Confused and shocked, Rekka could do nothing except look over at Commander Lara then. The woman simply mouthed an apology to her before finally, the last member to their group arrived on the scene.
Rekka looked over at what appeared to be a shirtless youth around Lara's and her age. He had given Commander Lara a salute and told her that he was reporting for duty. With that, Lara thanked them all for coming here. Apparently, they were going on quite a journey together. They would be going through much of the land, then through a mountain pass and finally to the Enchanted Forest. Rekka had no idea where it was that they were going but as she looked over at Captains Justin and Ty, she could see that the thought unsettled them. Even what they said sounded foreboding. It must be a bad area where they were heading.
Rekka looked over then at Captain Lara. She wasn't sure how long the journey would be but she would do her best. If they were really going into such a setting, Rekka could only wonder what help she would be compared to these more seasoned looking warriors. Yes, Rekka really felt out of place but she wouldn't complain. As she glanced over at Lara, she could see that she was leading the way already. The other and last member that joined their group simply appeared to be confused. Shrugging her shoulders, Rekka had her horse follow where Lara's was going.

Going through the rest of the large city was the easy part. With horses they stuck to the main roads and managed to get to the front gates within an hour. It wasn't until they reached the front gate that the real adventure part of this mission began. "How am I supposed to do this? Return to Elfhiem, this whole thing seems impossible."
"We will all see you for who you are Amber. Even your so called friends. You will be truly alone in this world then. You fit no where."Alvi taunted her.
Captain Ty was easily able to keep up with the horses pace with his long legs. "Ah the world outside the city! I've never understood the city. How can you humans put up with such cramped conditions. I need a place where I can run on all fours and sink my paws into the earth." He said to no one in particular.
Justin rolled his eyes. "That's because you are a cat."
Ty raised an eyebrow. "Are you comparing me to one of those house critters you humans weigh on with hand and foot?"
Justin crossed his arms. "We do not weigh on them like they are some king! We are the masters,"
"Ha!" Ty said his voice having a beast like component to the shout. "You feed them, bathe them, let them wander wherever they want. Really sounds like a master to me!"
Their argument continued, unknown mostly to Lara for she was speaking to one of the guards at the gate. She had informed him of their mission and their reason for leaving the city. They took her pass and let them pass. There they were greeted by a long paved road that traveled along side green hills. In the distance, Lara made out the vast series of mountains that covered the horizon. On the other side would be the Enchanted Forest.
"Let's go guys!" She said, shaking her reigns and sending her horse into a gallop.
As he road along side Rekka, Lucas spoke up. "Are you a new soldier? I've not seen you before."

The trip through the city on horseback went much faster than it did going back in on foot with the soldiers, Justin and Lara the first time Rekka had come here. It took them at least an hour and if not, within a single hour. At least, that's what it seemed. For the most part, Rekka was enjoying the horseback ride. It wasn't often that she got to ride a horse. Not that she didn't know how to ride a horse. She had been taught as a kid and even watched how others did it.
As they came up to the gates, Rekka could hear Captains Ty and Justin conversing. The tiger seemed to like the idea of being outside the kingdom, stating that he couldn't understand how humans could live in such cramped conditions. He needed to be able to walk on all fours. Justin, whom had been listening, piped in that it was because Ty was a cat. Ty, hearing him, looked over and asked him if he was comparing Ty to cats that people technically waited on hand and foot. Now that Rekka thought about it, cats were technically being waited on by humans without humans realizing it.
Justin was adamant though that cats weren't like kings and that humans were the masters. Of course, Ty was of different opinion and the two proceeded to bicker amongst themselves about cats and humans. Rekka soon lost interst in keeping up with what they were saying as she focused on Lara ahead of them. The guards that took her pass seemed satisfied with what she presented them. No sooner was that established and the gates were opened up for them. Once that was done, they were able to see what looked like a long road leading out towards the mountains in the distance. Where their destination was, Rekka only knew that if they made it, it would be beyond the mountains somewhere.
At Lara's beckoning, Rekka made her horse move forward out onto the long road. Justin and Ty still bickering as they went. With her good eye, Rekka could tell that someone was riding alongside her. Since Justice and Ty were on their own side and Lara was in front of her, Rekka guessed it was the other person who had joined their team. She never learned of his name though. Most of the trip, Rekka had been quiet, not really feeling inclined to speak much only because she was contemplating what their journey was going to entail. How dangerous their journey was going to really be.
After a moment of traveling, on the road, she heard the guy speaking to her. Turning her head to look over at him, hearing his question, she gave a nod. "I'm a new recruit. Just joined three days ago."
