Damien wanted to get away if he could from everything but he knew that he couldn't. He owed it to Romi and Bradley to find who had done this to the orphanage. On top of it, Damien couldn't rest knowing the fiend was out there somewhere, ready to do it again. Who were they? He knew the Order had its enemies but this was something more serious. This second incident was smaller scar sure but it was still serious. Not many were that skilled with magic, after all. Could it really be an elf?
As Damien gave the two recruits the order, Chloe had saluted him respectfully stating that she was ready right away. He gave her a salute in return. It was tradition for those of rank and below to exchange this type of salute. It was a sign of respect amongst comrades. Orion, on the other hand, didn't look as optimistic. Damien didn't think he was a fool. He didn't blame him if he thought otherwise but what else could be done? Sending out an army to search would be obvious. He had sent some inside to look but nothing had turned up. No matter what he did, things just didn't seem right. Maybe with a smaller group, they would be able to find something. Hopefully, very soon before something else happened.
When Orion asked him what they should do, Damien turned to him. Well, wandering around wouldn't do them much good. It would spark suspicion if they were wandering around constantly. "I think our best bet would be to act like we normally would. Wandering around constantly would only spark suspicion. I'm sure with our smaller scale group, we might be able to learn something compared to a much larger one. A larger one would only give it away. The less there is of us, the easier it will be to pick up on something. We should, for now, switch between wandering the barracks back at base and listening to conversations and visiting the village here. Something is better than nothing."

Chloe nodded. Orion kinda just waited. "Alright, sir. Let's all split up then. I'm sure people will be talking about it, so the more information we can gather the better. Perhaps we should meet up again by sunset?"
It seemed the day was going to be spent outside of the barracks again. That was alright by Orion. "Fine by me. Where should I go?" Orion doubted he'd run into anything, but this gave him an opportunity to think about things some more. He really needed to organize his thoughts anyway.
"I can check the barracks and the southern sections of the village. But I don't think princy should be in the market district. That way he doesn't have any temptations." Chloe told him. Orion gave her an annoyed look. He didn't even want to think about alcohol right now. No way he'd be going back to the pub anytime soon.
"Then how about I look around the northern parts of the village. And stop calling me that already!"

Damien looked to Chloe and gave a nod at what she had said. "Yes, people will be talking. We can regroup here at sunset. Be on your guard."
It was just after this when Orion had asked where should he go. No sooner had he said that when Chloe suggested that she would take the southern areas of the village and check the barracks. As for the marketplace, Orion might not be the best option to go there. Where Damien knew Orion was sober now, there was no telling if he would be tempted to drink again. No offense to Orion but he had really let himself go that night. Chloe made it a point to not let Orion go to the marketplace to which Orion seemed annoyed about.
Orion, in turn, suggested that he would investigate the northern area of the village. "Sounds fine to me. I'll investigate the market area and around it. See you two later then." With a nod, Damien indicated now was time that they set out.
Without another word, bidding them farewell, Damien turned and left them for the market area. What he would find, he wasn't sure. If they had targeted him, he knew any enemies would probably recognize him on the spot. If he wore a hood over his head though, he would only seem suspicious. 'Hm...suspicious...' he thought. His mind went right to the time when he had entered that pub chasing after Aiden. That would be a perfect spot to spy on people while wearing a hood in there. The cloak he wore over his cape could easily conceal his identity. He would look there near the end of his investigation though. More people went to the pub later in the day and it would be a waste to go there now.
So, there was Damien, walking amidst the sea of people acting normal. His ears listening to conversations he passed and his eyes scanning for anyone that might seem suspicious in the sea of heads.

Orion headed north. He really wasn't the best type of person for this job. "This is pointless." His demeanor was the exact reason why. The northern section of this world was composed of what was once the palace grounds. Here the emperor had once ruled the World of Dragons. Now the ancient palace was occupied by whatever was left of the Wilder Family. They were in charge of this world now. Orion had met the old leader back during the leader's conference a year ago.
The palace was the northern most point you could go. Only those on official visit could actually enter the palace. Before that were a few of the richer and more expensive houses. And then of course there was the Wilder Dojo. The large school was of course one of the great four schools initiated after the Great War. Each world had one.
Orion chose to stay away from the school. He didn't want to take any risks running into his brother. The palace was out. Not that anyone would recognize him now. Not with his white shaggy hair and scruffy white beard that was beginning to grow with each passing day. Instead he walked the streets of the richer households. They were much larger in comparison to the ones by the market district.
There weren't many people about and that suited him just fine. Spotting a bench, Orion just took a seat. He really didn't expect to hear or see anything. So he sat and waited and time continued to go by.
----------------------
As the sun just began to set, Mara stepped out of her hiding place. She was donned in the same garbs she had worn last night, a black cloak that covered her from head to toe. With the hood pulled up, she currently stood on top of someones house.
Moving during the day was not something she was used too, but her orders had been specific. The moment the sun began to set she was to unleash her attack. Well she was not going to fail. Looking down and into the main center of the market place, Mara made out the many different people below. Even at this time of day people were still about shopping.
Holding out her arms, Mara felt the blue fire begin to form around her stretched out arms. They moved like spinning wheels, growing larger by the moment. Then all at once the flames flew from her arms in the form of two blue dragons made of flame. They were easily ten feet tall and they had to be at least fifteen feet long and six feet across. The first screams that came were from the towns people.
The first flaming blue dragon had a living aspect to it, flying past stands and people. The people who had the unfortunate luck of being directly in the line of the flames were burnt instantly. Those who were just to close found fire sprouting on their body. The second flaming blue dragon crashed directly into the ground, causing blue flames to expand along the ground outward. From here Mara could make out the symbol that the second blue dragon had made on the ground as the fires burned. It was the same symbol as the one she had lit the orphanage with.

Damien didn't expect anything to happen immediately. Walking amidst the sea of heads in the marketplace, he had no idea what was to take place at that very moment. It had happened when he took pause before a store that was selling small trinkets that women would find more appealing than men. As he glanced this way and that, he heard a commotion suddenly break out ahead of him. Things, for a time, had gone without event up until now.
"Oh great, did it happen again?" Damien murmured to himself. People in the street had turned at the commotion they were hearing. At first, there was just mild confusion and curiosity amongst them. It wasn't until flames coming down the street in the shape of dragons, with people running and screaming trying to get away from them, when the area Damien was in had been thrown into a panic. Damien's eyebrows rose considerably as he saw them coming his way.
Immediately, Damien tore open a portal and leaped through it. When he did, he had brought himself upon the top of a roof to overlook the scene. Whomever had done it had conjured two dragons made of flames. Those the dragons passed, if people were in close proximity to them, were burned along with those that had been in the wake of them. Damien's eyebrows furrowed. This wasn't any of the Order's doing.
The second dragon didn't seem as lively as the first as it crashed into the ground. Damien watched as the flames burst outward, and then, where the dragon had landed sprung up the same symbol that had been sprouted on the rooftop of the orphanage. An anger swelled up inside of Damien then as he searched the crowd to find who looked responsible for the mess. Then, he saw it, a hooded figure standing on one of the houses. Turning toward it, Damien's eyes narrowed. Those were no garments of the Order but it was clear to Damien that this person may have something to do with that symbol.
If the other two were alerted or not to the chaos going on, Damien wasn't aware. His sight was fixed on the hooded figure standing on that house. Ripping open another portal, Damien rushed into it and came out on the roof next to the home the figure was standing on.
"So, there you are! The rodent behind all of this!" Damien growled. It was obvious he was angry and as he held out a hand, he summoned his sword. If the figure knew what was best for them, they would probably try to escape at this point. Judging by the figure, it was obviously female. No male had curves like that. It was physically impossible. That and well, the figure clearly had a chest to boot.

Orion was pretty bored. There just wasn't anything to do but sit and look around. He watched a couple different people pass by. They all gave him a curious look as they passed. Orion was dressed in his same dirty clothing as usual. He had changed his shirt, but it was wrinkled and unkempt. It didn't occur to Orion that they might think he was a bum.
"I'm supposed to wait here till sunset?" Man this was boring. Getting up, he headed down the street. He sort of just walked aimlessly with no real destination. There was no problem with staying in the north district, but Orion didn't want to go north by the palace. He'd stay away from that place.
His feet brought him around a corner and Orion found himself back in front of the gates of the Dojo. Coming out of them the other way was a young man with black short cut hair, brown eyes, and dressed in khaki pants and a sleeveless green shirt. Orion recognized Julian immediately. The nose, the eyes, the hair, he was older. Two years older. But he was still the same Julian, Orion had known.
His younger brother came to a stop and titled his head and narrowed his eyes. "Do I know you?" He asked.
-----------------------
Mara paused for a moment to watch the destruction. Then she turned around to head off the roof. She wasn't about to get caught. Of course that was right when a young man walked out of some sort of portal onto the rooftop. Hearing him call her a rodent made her tighten her eyes in annoyance. She had been caught. Mara was never caught!
The cloak she wore and the hood over her head would hide the top half of her face. Mara had no plans on talking. Thrusting her arm forward she shot red hot flames in a single spiral column towards this newcomer. She didn't wait though to watch her attack. The attack wasn't meant really to damage. It was her weakest fire, capable to burn moderately but only under good conditions. Her real goal was leaping off the roof. Running to the edge, Mara leaped off the roof towards the alley to her right.

Damien was like a predatory feline as he stood on the rooftop with his sword at the ready. He was expecting some sort of retaliation and that was what he had received. He extended his hand out, tearing open a portal in front of him just as the girl shot out her flames. He sent them off to a spot where nobody was. Seeing the girl leap off the rooftop, Damien ran over and jumped off as well. He refused to let her get away, not after the deaths she had caused. The children, those people...no one deserved that.
"Don't think you're going to get away so easily!" he called after her, hot on her trail. No way was he going to let her get away. Ripping open another portal, he leaped through it and came out in a path just ahead of her. Of course, she would have time to slip down a side passage but it was clear his portalling was a thorn in anyone's side who was trying to contain him or escape him.
"We can do this the easy way or the hard way," Damien told her upon appearing out of the portal just ahead of her path.

Mara dashed down the alley, putting as much distance between her and the opponent. Running down the side walk she was forced to become to a stop when her opponent suddenly ripped through a portal in front of her path. Mara had never seen such a portaliing ability before. She knew of portals that could travel from place to place, but not of one that could travel across distances.
Her mouth frowned in a snarl as she came to a stop. Listening to her opponent, Mara had no intention of going down without a fight. This time she summoned her blue flames, the magical fire that she had used to create dragons and the symbol of the enemy. Shooting out of both of her raised arms, two cyclones of fire spun towards the enemy. They were easily the size of a building and revolved like a true spinning cyclone. It just happened to be made out of fire.
Mara then turned the other way and went that way.
--------------------------------
"This is what I didn't want to happen!" Orion panicked. He didn't know what to say, simply staring at his brother.
"You... seem familiar for some reason." Julian said, leaning forward just slightly to study him.
Orion reacted, lowering his face to the ground and out of the gaze of Julian's eyes. Making his tone slightly deeper so not to be recognized, Orion responded. "N...no sir. I was just passing through sir." He took a step back slightly as well.
Julian smiled. "No need for the sirs. I'm just a student here... was a student here. Sorry about that, I just thought you looked like someone I knew." Orion didn't say anything. He even flinched as Julian walked past him.
Tears were beginning to swell up in his eyes, and Orion had to blink them away. He watched his brother's back as he walked. Only now did Orion notice a nap sack on his shoulder. "I don't know where you are going brother... But I'll fix this."

Damien had been born with the ability to open portals like he did. It was in his blood. He didn't know where his abilities came from but he knew portals were naturally his ability he had since childhood. He had discovered them on accident. Now that he knew how to utilize them, he used them whenever he could and when it was necessary. It made travel very convenient for him and a pain for those after him or those he was after.
He was well aware that he was taunting his enemy. Taunting, he knew, would result in retaliation once more but after the fact this figure was responsible or associated with who had killed those children and burned down Romi's orphanage, Damien intended to play with his prey a bit. That was why he kept popping out of portals abruptly like he had. He would avenge those children for Romi's sake even if she wouldn't want him to. Watching the stance the girl took on, Damien smiled at her. It was a casual smile that simply appeared and remained on his face as she seemed to get ready to conjure something up.
Sure enough, the woman produced two large pillars of flames. They were headed right for him! Damien frowned a little at this before leaping back into a portal to escape what looked like certain death. He didn't know that he had somewhat of an advantage against fire just yet since in response to the arrival of the flames, a symbol had appeared on Damien's forehead colored in a florescent blue color. It was a kanji letter that stood for water. Damien, who only used portal abilities up until now, didn't know that something had sparked inside of himself. He wouldn't know for a while yet anyway.
After evading the attack, Damien watched as the cyclones tore through where he had last been. 'Damn it, I need to stop messing around before more collateral damage takes place!' he mentally scolded himself. He would have stopped to try and put the flames out in the cyclones' wake but he couldn't afford to lose that girl now. Last he saw her, the woman had turned down another alley. Gritting his teeth, Damien hurried down after her. He could hear her some distance ahead running. Once again, a smile crept up on his face. He didn't know why but he always seemed to find himself smiling during confrontations like this. It was an odd habit of his. Nothing was amusing about the situation and yet, he was smiling. The woman's shadow came into view. A little faster and he just might be able to catch her in his sight again.

Orion was walking down a slightly busier street when he saw a group of people in black clothes rush past him. They all wore garb of the Wilder Guard with a sword resting in a sheath on their side. "I wonder where they're off too." Orion thought to himself. They seemed to be in quite a hurry to wherever they were going.
The question Orion was now asking himself though was if he should follow them. If the Guard was out that meant there was trouble somewhere. He had said he'd stick to the northern district, but this was a chance that might lead to something. Despite his orders, Orion charged after them. He would follow them.
---------------
He watched her run towards him while he continued to lean against a side to the building. His long black hair was tied in a familiar pony tail revealing his sharp pointed ears. His face was fixed in nonchalant expression and set in stone. Seeing the other youth running behind her he waited just until she passed to step forward and in the way of the familiar youth.
Damien would no doubt recognize his young face, seeming probably no older then Damien himself, the black robe like item he wore, and the two kantanas that rested in two sheaths on his left hip. The girl had not seen him and had continued to run past, quickly turning around another corner. He however was not interested in the girl. His father had given him specific orders.
"I am sorry but I cannot allow you to pass." He told Damien as he neared. Aware of his portal abilities, he formed three invisible walls of energy. One behind Damien, cutting off his return, one behind himself to prevent Damien from passing, and one on top of them to seal them both within. -------------------
Mara on the other hand continued to run. She was absolutely livid! How dare someone dodge her attack like that! "Who the hell does he think he is?!" She thought. She didn't dare risk looking back. The faster she got away the better. As she rounded a corner, she came to a stop as an elf stood in the middle of the street.
She had never seen an elf before, and found herself mesmerized by his beauty. He had medium to long yellow hair, sharp green eyes, and was dressed in a black cloak similar to herself except for what looked like an outline of a red hawk on the front and back of the cloak.
"Seems like you need some help?" He asked her.
This shook Mara out of her silly female fancies. She had no clue as to who this was. This was probably another enemy! Where was she to go now! With one behind her and one in front of her it looked like she was surrounded. Unless she took to the roof! Mara's eyed the nearest building to her out of the corner of her eye. If she ran, she might just make it.
When the elf took as step forward, Mara ran towards the building. Then she found herself flying backwards as she ran into some invisible force. It knocked her right off her feet and even threw her back with the same momentum that she had run at it.
"You don't have a choice darling. Besides you already work for me. I've just come to collect what is mine." Mara looked at the elf now slightly confused and afraid. Trying to stand back up, she hit her head on another invisible wall of energy. It threw her back down and gave her a headache as well.
The elf had reached her by now. "Believe it or not, I have a proposition for you. However such things are not to be talked about here." Then suddenly Mara was falling as a portal ripped open below her feet.

Damien would have probably caught up to that girl again to take her more seriously but something else happened. As he had come down the path after her, someone suddenly stepped into his path. Damien had no choice but to come to an abrupt halt. His eyebrows furrowed as he found himself looking at a familiar looking dark haired elf. It was one of the two elves again! Damien's eyes narrowed when the elf spoke to him.
"Can't let me pass?!" Damien repeated. Due to this elf, the girl was getting away! Damien's eyes narrowed as he looked back at the dark haired elf. Who were they and why were they doing this?
"And why is that? Are you associated with her?" Damien growled. He had his sword at the ready since, well, how else would anyone react to the arrival of an elf after suspecting they were responsible? Was this elf going to fight him?
"Who are you anyway and what do you want with us?" Damien demanded. "I know I saw you back in Twilight Town...you...and that other one."

Orion followed the guards as they made their way towards the market place. He didn't follow directly behind them, preferring to stay a couple of paces behind. They were running at an increased pace, practically sprinting through the areas. It took simply focusing on where they were going to follow.
"Something must have happened for them to be running at such a brisk pace." He figured as they came into the center area of the village. Orion passed several people who were heading the opposite way as him. There was a sense of urgency among the people as they all seemed to push forward.
The guards had drawn swords while forcing their way through the running people. Looking up Orion could see why. A dragon made of flames stalked the center of the market square, which was also burning fiercely. The entire market place seemed to be a blazed! Just what had happened here?! Wasn't Damien supposed to be watching this place?
-----------------------
His expression never changed as Damien demanded questions from him. The reason they did not was because he simply didn't care. His father had said that he was not to kill this young human. He was just to keep him busy while he took care of the human girl. The Prince didn't see what his father wanted about her either. He would follow his father because that was what was right. That didn't mean that he always understood his actions though.
"Father needs me. As long as I am needed I will always stay by his side." The Prince drew one of his kantanas. Drawing two on this young man was dangerous, especially if he was not to kill him. "You want answers? Defeat me in sword combat and I will answer them." The Prince would test this man and see what was so special that he could not feed the Prince's blood frenzy. Even from here the Prince could feel the blood inside the young man. It called to him as all blood did. But there would be no magic attacks now. He wanted to test the training of this young man, not his abilities.

Damien didn't try his portal abilities just yet because he felt if this elf were associated with the girl that he, too, had to be stopped. Also, there was a chance that this being might be able to counter his portals or impede them somehow. That's why, for now, he hadn't tried. He especially didn't try if he was going into an actual battle. The girl had merely been running away from him rather than sticking around and fighting him. If she had stopped to actually fight rather than run, he wouldn't have been using his portals so much. Damien liked fights where both stopped to clash blades or something, not run away like a coward.
Now that he was faced with this elf that looked to be an ally of that girl's, Damien intended to fight him. He wasn't sure how powerful this elf could be but he would see. It was his job to, after all. Well, not so much as his job. No, he didn't consider this as his job. He considered the attack on the orphanage as personal. It was Romi's orphanage and Romi had been like his adoptive sister. He would fight for her and the children that were killed or traumatized by that event.
Damien watched as the expression of the elf didn't seem to change. Instead, he simply replied with how his father needed him and until he was no longer needed, he would be with him always. Ironically, that sounded a lot like how Damien used to feel. It gave Damien pause for a short moment but he managed to pull himself out of it to focus again on the elf. Regardless of how alike they might have been he couldn't let that stop him.
What the elf did though confused Damien. Why wasn't he unleashing his power on him? Why was he simply choosing to use only one katana on him? Was he that arrogant? Damien heard the elf's offer. If he wanted answers then he was to defeat this elf in sword combat. Was he just simply evening the odds by only drawing one katana?
"Just sword combat? No magic at all?" Damien inquired. Even if the elf seemed intent on using magic, Damien figured that he would know when it happened anyway. "If that's the way you want it then so be it." They were going to fight it out anyway. Damien got into a battle ready stance when he did so. He wasn't sure how this would end but it was a fight none the less.
"Ready when you are."

Orion hadn't seen so much destruction before. He had seen death. Witnessed it during the battle in Twilight Town. But watching the burning dragon incinerate people as they ran was something very different. It continued to rampage in the district, out of control and seemingly unstoppable. Even the guard that Orion had followed were backing off.
How did you stop a fire like this? "Someone bring water." A voice called in the throng of things. Orion did not see its originator. But he doubted a bucket of fire was going to do much against this.
Fires were one of the most dangerous things to a kingdom. There was a special group of people who dealt with fires back in the Enchanted Domain. Orion knew them well, having spent some time with the leader of their band. They all were water controllers, humans who could summon water like he could wind.
In addition to the dragon, the fire continued to spread along the ground and spread towards nearby buildings. Some of the guards were working hard on keeping people away from the area, while others headed into the throng of the fire to try and rescue anyone still in it. Orion didn't know what to do. He felt like he should be doing something, not just observing. But what could he do? He wasn't a Prince anymore. He was no hero.
"Sir you should get back. We have to evacuate this area." One of the guards had made his way over to him. He put a hand on his shoulder and started to escort him away.
-------------------
Smoke rose from the market place not too far away. To The Prince it meant nothing. The battle would not last long. He said nothing, not even to answer Damien's questions. He didn't know what Damien would do when it came to magic or such like that. In all reality he didn't care. Damien could use whatever he needed too. Perhaps the battle would last longer if he did.
The Prince did wait to the moment the words "ready" left Damien's lips. Then he charged. The speed and grace of an elf in combat was a marvel to behold the first time it was witnessed. Elfs had a way to their walking and moving that had the elegance of a deer, but the predatory feeling of a lion. He came at Damien with all of the speed behind his legs, swinging his kantana with the all the strength he could muster in his single hand. The strike came horizantally and aimed at Damien's chest. To an average human it would probably be like a pro-baseball player swinging a baseball bat.

When Damien had seen the elf the last time back in Twilight Town, he had thought of them as lithe. No doubt, this was a warrior built for speed. Elves were especially known for their magical capabilities. Since he had never fought one before, Damien wondered just what he would be in for. The guy was probably really fast. Now, Damien, himself was naturally swifter footed as well. Instead of the usual 35 miles per hour a human could run at, Damien was 45 miles per hour. It wasn't too dramatic but he was definitely a little more faster than the average human being.
The moment he had readied himself, telling the elf he was ready, the elf had charged. The elf had at least given him a chance to get ready which was odd. Damien was used to getting thrown into situations right away. Maybe it was the elf being respectful of his opponent? Either way, Damien knew he may be in for some serious trouble.
The elf's speed was amazing. He moved like a deer with the vibe of a lion. Damien found himself taking on the defensive as he just barely brought his sword up to parry the elf's attack. The swing the elf made, even though he had parried the attack, had been surprisingly strong. It was clear that the elf's appearance was deceiving. Where elves were lithe and swift, they also had a strength about them too. 'This guy's like an alien!' Damien thought to himself as he side stepped away from the elf.
Damien took that moment to try to retaliate by making a downward slash at him. It was a downward vertical slash.

He moved with the flexibility of a cat as Damien's sword came at him in a downward vertical slash. The elf literally let himself fall downwards underneath the sword as it came down from on top. He had to actually plant his sword on the ground and use that hand to keep himself from literally just falling on the spot. The momentum of his fall caused his feet to slide outward along the ground. However he had turned his body so that when his feet flew forward along the ground they would run into Damien's left leg. The action was a risky one because the Prince aimed to cause Damien to fall back before he could finish his downward strike. On the other hand if the Prince missed he would find a blade coming right at his own right shoulder. It had been going for his head, but the slide kick maneuver had moved him.
------------------
"Wait! No! I want to help!" Orion called out suddenly. The guard didn't bother to stop moving him.
"Sir we don't want you to get hurt. Please leave this to professionals. The best way you can help is by moving on." Orion mentally swore.
"Screw that!" He thought to himself. Orion wanted to see the Order destroyed, but burning and killing innocent people was not how to do it. There was no getting around the guard though. At least not with him leading him away. So Orion let himself be led away and then followed a moving crowd. The guard had stopped directly forcing him to lead so to help others who might be struggling. There were only about two guards leading the group of maybe thirty people away from the scene.
Picking up the pace, Orion actually cut further into the crowd. He had to push past a few not so happy people, but once he ventured into the middle of the retreating group he made his way over to the edge of them. On the furthest eastern side he waited until they came to the doorway of a shop and backed into it. He hugged the wall as the crowd walked past him, the guards leading the stragglers. They did not notice him off to the left in the doorway.
Soon as they walked past, he dashed back towards the fire. Like hell he was going to sit by when people needed help. "I might not be a Prince anymore, but I'm still a warrior." Unaware of the glowing green kanji letter on his forehead or what it might mean, he came to a stop in front of the blazing blue fire. He could hear screams inside. "Probably not the stupidest decision I've ever made." Orion headed into the flames.

Damien, while he had been making that vertical downward slash, did not expect the elf to do what he just did. Most people tended to roll out of the way or parry the attack with their own weapons. The flexibility and agility of this elf was remarkable. Since it was an attack Damien did not expect for the elf to try considering the risky business it gave someone, he found himself getting struck backward after his left leg had been hit.
Having been knocked onto the ground, Damien quickly rolled to move aside in order to recover from that fall. His leg hurt him but he had to get back up. So, he pushed himself back up onto his right leg, putting more weight on that for the time being as he faced his foe once again.
'This bastard's crazy!' he thought, focusing on the elf carefully. He couldn't allow him to knock him over like that again. Once again, Damien was put on the defensive.

With his attack succeeding, it gave the Prince the opportunity to rise back to his feet. At about the same time Damien rolled back to recover from the fall. The intentions of this fight were not revealed by the Prince's expressions. It remained mostly calm and blank. There was no boredom, or joy, or even anger at his opponent rolling back and pushing himself back again.
Was the Prince crazy? Well perhaps. Many who saw him in battle thought him crazy. Of course when the Prince fell into the dance of death not many people survived long enough to really reveal if he was or not. The Prince's mind was solid. In the terms of mentality he was not crazy. He knew very well the things he did and the repercussions they had. But that was something very different then being truly sane.
Given what the Prince was he could not claim that he was sane. One did not become a blood revear and maintain their sanity. It was the same for necromancy. His father was probably the only "true" necromancer alive. There might be some who might claim to have the power of necromancy, but none of them were near the par of the original eleven. With only eleven individuals the empire was able to destroy world after world, and build and unlimited army of the undead.
Soon the eleven would rise again. But the Prince had his own worried about his father's plans. For now though there was no point in focusing on them. His mind was focused solely on Damien. It was time to see how Damien would respond to a more advanced sword strike. Using the same speed as before, the Prince charged towards the opponent. However instead of simply running straight ahead, the Prince lowered himself into a low stance as he ran. He literally ran with the same speed with his knees bent low to the ground as if in a crouch, and his head titled towards the opponent with the main focus of his eyes on the ground. His sword was held with his arm extended at a ninety degree angle from his body. Given that Damien was to his immediate left, this might come off as a bit of an odd thing to do.
As he closed the distance to within striking distance, the Prince extended his knees into a jump. The right hand that held his sword came arching in an upward diagonal slash arcing towards Damien's hurt leg and ending at his opposite hip. To add power to the attack his other arm began to arc. The attack was normally used in battle situations where you were being surrounded by an enemy because at the end of the swing your body is turning ninety degrees. One would charge at one of the enclosing enemies, do a quick strike at the opponents legs and hips causing them to fall, and then turning the body to take on the next enemy. However the Prince had combined it with a low stance and a jump. The result was a slash towards Damien, then leaping into the air about three feet. For good measure, the Prince kicked out with his free foot towards Damien's chest.

Fire sucked. No it really sucked! First of all it was hot. Not like your summer day hot. It was burning hot. Add that with brown smoke and the smell of things burning and you had a nasty fire. Orion had just ran into that. The entire time he swore periodically.
He was having a hard time seeing anything in this mess of bright lights and smoke. Orion hadn't really known just what he was going to be able to do by running into the fire. But gosh darn it he had to do something. He couldn't stay in here long, not if he wanted to avoid burns anyway.
"Go leaping in to be a hero, and you don't even know the first thing to do." Orion berated himself. He kept to the less intense sections of the fire as he tried to look for any survivors. "I think that's the bakery." Orion was by one of the buildings where the fire had just begun to spread from the roof to the actual floors and roof inside.
Smoke filled the inside of the place making it hard to see anything really inside. There was currently more smoke then actual fire though. Glancing around just for a moment, Orion eyed the flaming dragon. It was attacking nearby buildings at the other end of the marketplace about thirty feet away. "Gotta keep an eye on that thing."
Approaching the open doorway Orion decided to shout out. "Anyone in here? I'm here to help!" Shutting his mouth Orion titled his head to hear if anyone answered. He waited for a moment, but he didn't hear anything. So he decided to repeat himself once more. "Yo! Anyone here!" This time he heard what sounded like a cough from inside.

It was almost daunting to be facing an enemy that didn't show the least bit of emotion. Damien always found himself smiling if he knew the upperhand or frowning or showing anger. This elf, on the other hand, remained expressionless. No doubt, he was an icy cold killer. Yet, he wasn't doing anything to kill Damien at the given moment. It seemed like this elf was merely toying with him. Just how much power besides the blood magic he saw did this elf have behind him? He had no idea this elf was a prince. Why did Damien always seem to run into royals anyway?
The elf, after having put Damien on the defensive again, had run at him. The way he did though was totally alien to Damien. It looked as if he were crouching while rushing for him and yet didn't appear to be aiming directly at him. 'The hell kind of an attack is that?' Damien wondered, preparing himself for the unknown.
Sure enough, the elf made a diagonal slash at Damien's hurt left leg in an ark that would have slashed its way up to the end of his hip on the opposite side if he hadn't reacted in time. Since he had been preparing himself for the slightest movement, Damien just barely managed to block this. However, the kick to the chest was what made him stagger back. Staggering back a few paces, wincing as he had been forced to step on his left leg, Damien couldn't help but feel anger towards this elf. It was frustrating having to fight someone that felt like they were just toying with you and not even putting much effort into their attack.
Recovering, Damien decided to change tactic a little. He feinted aiming a slash for the elf's arm but then jabbed for his right leg at the last minute. A leg for a leg, if he managed to hit him. It wasn't a lethal blow of course if it did hit since it was only the leg he was jabbing at.

Coming back down, the Prince was left standing to the side. With Damien being forced back by his kick, it allowed him time to return back to his original position. He waited to see how Damien would next attack. One was able to tell a lot about an opponent from the types of attacks they tried.
The Prince took Damien for a moderate swordsman. Perhaps he had some minor training at battling with a sword, but his form seemed more of the work of a trainer then actual battle experience. For example, blocking with a weapon wasn't everything. Why risk raising the sword to deflect a strike that might just be a feint by an opponent? Of course a true swords master would be able to see through the majority of feints by the amount of space they put into it.
The Prince wasn't a sword master. Some might give him that title, but he himself had never earned it. To become a sword master you had to kill a sword master. The Prince had yet to find an actual sword master to kill. He looked forward to the day he could test his blade against one.
Watching Damien come in with a feint towards his arm, the Prince actually stepped forward and to the left to try and dodge the feint. When the Prince focused on Damien's sword arm, and watched the change in it. It thrust forward towards his leg. Well that worked for the Prince. Having stepped actually forward closer to the Prince he was able to move his sword across his body to deflect the attack. Then he followed it up with a punch towards his opponent's face since he was in reaching distance.

Smoke filled the inside of the bakery in a steady haze. Orion had to keep his shoulder up over his mouth in an attempt to just keep the smoke from entering to much of his lungs. Still it was hard, making his eyes already water. He couldn't see anything in this.
"You have to look! There's someone inside here!" He had definitely heard coughing.
Orion headed forward deeper into the smoke, keeping as low as he could. The flames were mostly along the top of the walls and above, burning from the second floor down into the first. If Orion could see through the smoke he'd be able to see that parts of the second floor had actually crashed down onto this level.
The first place he headed for though was the counter. He thought that maybe someone might be there. He roughly knew that it was straight ahead so he did his best to continue in a straight path. But the deeper he went the harder it was to see through the smoke. "Where are you?!" He tried to shout through his muffled mouth.
He listened but only heard the sound of the fire above. "Damn! Did I imagine it?" He hoped not or this would have been a complete waste.
A rumble was the only warning he had before a piece of floorboard came crashing down next to him. The board was a two by four and missed his head by mere inches. It made Orion leap, flap his arms, shout out, and engulf a bunch of smoke that sent him coughing.
