Damien had only been testing with the elf instead of using other things he was more accustomed to. After all, he was technically fighting the unknown here. He had never encountered an elf in battle before like this one. The elf, as mentioned before, was alien to him. After guessing this elf would take odd attacks to try and surprise Damien, he had decided that he had enough of that and to bring himself more up to snuff. The advantage the elf had over him was possibly more experience and agility. Damien was swift for a human but that wasn't like he could match the speed of an elf. He had to guess more so what the elf was going to do in order to counter and that wasn't always a good guess. He had so far been kicked twice. It was frustrating to say the least and he knew this elf had to be going lightly with him.
'No more games!' Damien had thought. That's when he made the feint. The elf had come in closer to him to block the attack. Having seen the elf try physical attacks along with his own weapon strikes, Damien was expecting at this angle a punch. Sure enough, the elf went for it and Damien had brought up his free hand to block it.
As soon as he blocked the punch, Damien pushed at the elf's sword while attempting to head butt him in response for trying to punch Damien. He hadn't exactly been too thrilled when he had been kicked twice. Whether or not the head butt made it's mark, Damien would then attempt to swing his sword in a vertical fashion toward the elf's middle.

The Prince hadn't expected Damien to focus on his physical attacks. For the most part they had come to the human as a surprise. At least that was how the Prince had taken it. When his fist was caught, the Prince's eyes betrayed him in a slight widened movement. What followed next was also surprising. The Prince maintained his grip on the sword and met Damien's push with equal strength.
He did not anticipate Damien's headbutt and it connected with his mouth and forced him back a step. Freeing their blades, the Prince just managed to bring his sword up to block the strike at his middle. He held the blade there and pushed against Damien's sword the same way Damien had done to him. He tasted blood at the corner of his lips, and licked it with his tongue.
"It seems you learn well. However I will show you the difference between experience and training." The fire in the background had spread pretty far now. It was only a couple of blocks away now. It was time to end this. His father would be looking for him if he didn't return soon.
The Prince shoved hard against the sword that was locked with Damien's. It was a sudden new level of strength that he had not shown before. The hope was that the strength would overcome Damien and surprise him to back off a step. With the sudden new burst in power, the Prince actually tried to turn it into a downward swing aimed right at Damien's shoulder. Of course what he did next would seem even more of a surprise and perhaps even seem a bit crazy and suicidal. The attack was never meant to hit Damien. Instead as the blade closed the distance, the elf let go of the blade while he pivoted on his foot ninety degrees to the left of Damien. He followed this up with a quickdraw slash with his other sword. This special move was a sword technique where the user focused their attack on a speedy quickdraw slash. This one was aimed right at Damien's left side. It was not a killing blow, aimed only to cause a deep cut in Damien's side. The second blade that he drew was a kantana that was black as night, and slightly longer then the other kantana that he drew.
-------------------
Orion fought to get his coughing under control, but it was so hard with all this smoke! Even when he thought he had stopped coughing the sound of it in his ears showed that he hadn't. "Wait a minute! I'm not coughing! That's someone else!" The coughing came from somewhere to his right!
There was definitely someone here! Following the fit of coughing, Orion came upon the bakery girl. He hadn't remembered her until he saw her now. She was laid out on the ground and Orion immediately saw the pile of burnt wood that had fallen on the bottom half of her body! She was coughing when he came up to her.
She looked up and her eyes suddenly filled with hope upon seeing him. They quickly though turned back to a pain and her mouth let out a scream but none came out. Instead she gulfed down more smoke."Just hold on! I'm going to try and get you out!" He said through his shoulder. She seemed to tired to even say anything. She didn't seem to have to much strength left in her. Orion had to do something about the pile of wood. There was just one problem. The wood was burnt and hot to the touch. In fact he could feel the heat just from here. He had no doubt that the girl underneath it was probably in excruciating pain.
Orion went to try and touch it and couldn't even make himself touch it with his free hand. What was he going to do about it? He had to do something. "Why am I always so powerless to do anything! I was never trained to do anything like this. I'm supposed to be a Prince and lead kingdoms not rescue people from fires."
Perhaps he could do something with his sword. He'd have to hold his breath though to not breath in the smoke! Orion summoned his armor. For a moment a faint outline of a green kanji letter began to glow on his forehead. It did not continue to brighten though and instead Orion's purple armor formed on his body. He summoned his sword of storms in his hand, and started to use it like a levy to move the pieces of wood off of her and to the side.

It was a bit rewarding to see the change of expression, even though slightly, upon that elf's face. There had been a look of obvious surprise given away by the slight widening of the elf's eyes. He hadn't expected Damien to catch his fist or head butt him. At least he managed to finally get a hit on the elf. After having been kicked twice it didn't leave Damien as a happy camper. Those kicks, though not fatal, certainly had hurt. Not only that but the kicks had also angered him. The anger he was feeling had encouraged him with what he had just done to the elf. However, it only managed to catch him offguard a little bit.
The elf, though surprised and had been knocked back a step, managed to recover in time to block Damien's slash that he had followed up with after he had made the headbutt. The elf had pushed back on the blade much like Damien had earlier. The two were holding their weapons between one another, pushing against each other with their blades. Damien had locked eyes with the elf. He could see a noticeable dribble of blood escaping the edge of the elf's mouth.
As Damien stood there forcing his blade against the other's, holding it there, he didn't put into the account that compared to the elf he wasn't in as good of a shape right now. He had been hurt from his encounter he had with his father still and his endurance wasn't the best. He had held up to this point but when the elf suddenly pushed at their blades with a strength he hadn't used before, Damien could feel his sides scream in protest as his recuperating muscles were suddenly met with a force that hurt them. Damien winced and even though he tried, he couldn't have maintained his stance against the elf's push. Thus, he ended up staggering back a few paces.
He didn't have much time to react by the time the elf had come for him. Seeing the slash coming, Damien had thought that's what the elf was trying to do but he was once again being a slippery bastard. Damien considered him that because he was annoying to fight. Having tossed aside the other blade, which greatly confused Damien he had realized a second too late what the elf was doing. As he brought up his blade to try to block the other katana, Damien only managed to not let it cut as deep as the hilt of his sword lightly bumped the katana. He didn't realize the elf only intended for it to cut deep and to not kill him with the blow. So, Damien thought he had deterred his would be fatal injury. So, even if his sword bumped the elf's slightly, the elf still managed to cut him bad on the left side.
Damien saw a burst of yellow as his side suddenly felt as if it were on fire. He staggered away from the strike, landing on his right side then. Blood dripped from his left side in small rivulets. If the elf had intended to kill him right then and there, he could easily had done it. Even with the attack the elf had made, Damien thought he could have killed Damien. It was angering to know that his foe was still just toying with him even up to this point. It left him a little wiser though. Elves weren't easy to do battle with. He would need to be more diligent with his training if he hoped to contend with not just elves but one of the four heads even. That is, if he even survived this mess.
As he looked over at the elf, the sudden loss of blood blurring his vision a bit, Damien gritted his teeth. Only then did he noticed the appearance of the other blade. What did he cut him with? Would it be detrimental to his health? Either way, Damien knew he had been cut bad in this fight. Getting up would be very painful and even then, he would be slow at it since he was injured. The elf could probably already tell that this fight was now over with.
"You may have defeated me...as was decided I will not get answers to my questions now...but can you at least answer me this one question? Why the orphanage?" he demanded. The elf could choose to just leave now and not answer his single question. Damien had believed it to be a personal attack on the orphanage to get to him. If it had been the case, he had to wonder why. It could be his rank but it could be something else entirely. Damien just wanted to know for sure if his suspicion about it had been correct or not.

Watching his strike succeed and cause his opponent to stagger back and fall on his side, the Prince proclaimed this battle over. He had tested his blade against this man. Sheathing his black colored kantana he fought back the urge to go into a blood frenzy. He used his walking over back to his other sword and picking it up to disguise the look of a steady squint and hardened face. It was the blood that was flowing from Damien that was really causing it.
The Prince was a blood reaver. When his black blade tasted blood it normally began the blood frenzy. It allowed him to use the many offensive abilities of a blood reaver. But by putting the blade away and being silent if just for a moment he was able to regain control and calm his face. If Damien noticed this at all, it didn't matter to him too much. His face was calm once more when he returned the other blade to it's sheath.
Questioning the Prince was a smart thing. Any man might do it, especially after what had happened. Truthfully the Prince had no problems with answering. He turned to him. "It was not we who chose the orphanage, but the woman you chased. We merely told our subordinate to cause destruction in the name of your order. We did not specify how. It didn't matter how to us. I will tell you this swordsman. I am Zaffre Firyn. Tell the leaders of your order that The Prince of the Red Hawk lives."
The Prince didn't know if Damien would recognize the title. But the leaders of his order should. The Prince of the Red Hawk was the title that the Prince had gone by during the Great Universal War. The title came from the symbol that the Empire had always used as its crest, the shape of a red hawk. The Red Hawk himself was the Emperor, his father. So that made him Prince of the Red Hawk. None really knew his actual name in the war. Giving it to Damien was actually a special thing. It meant that the Prince respected Damien enough to tell him it.
"Till we cross swords again soldier..." The Prince trailed off. He opened a portal next to him and walked into it. It would be up to Damien to get himself to safety.
----------------------
It wasn't an easy task, but finally Orion was able to get enough of the wood off that he pulled the bakery girl out of the rest. She was no longer conscious when he did so. It was a good thing too. The bottom half of her body was burnt pretty badly. Orion could see some of the works even through the pants she had worn. They were burnt for the most part though.
"No way I can carry her with this armor." Reluctantly Orion dispersed his armor and sword. He did his best to gently pick up the girl. She was probably close to his age and he had to carry all of her weight. This wasn't an easy thing with all the smoke in his lungs either.
The journey to the door seemed to take longer then it should, but he did make it. Coming outside Orion found more people on the scene near the fire. Three water elemental users were fighting the flaming dragon, doing their best to put it out, while about probably seven or eight water users fought the other fires. It seemed that the "fire fighters" had arrived.
One of them spotted Orion as he came out and rushed over to him. He helped lighten the load of the girl and together they moved her away from the remaining fire. "Medic!" He shouted as he helped them over. A woman in white robes came rushing forward from the sidelines.
Orion didn't have time to look at her grey hair, wrinkled brown eyes, and petite figure. His attention was on the bakery girl. Together with the fire fighter they laid the girl down on the side walk and the medic practically shoved them out of the way. "Move! Move! I need to see what I'm dealing with." Orion stepped back.

As Damien lay there, he knew that at this point he was at the mercy of this elf. Still, if the elf wished to kill him then he could have done more than just cross blades with him. A lot of blood was flowing from his wound. All Damien could do to stem the flow was to hold his right arm over the injury. When he focused on the elf, he could see some sort of strange look on his face. It were as if he were struggling with himself. He didn't realize his blood was what had caused it.
When he asked the elf that question, he learned that only the woman had made the decision to attack the orphanage. The elf couldn't possibly know why else she would have chosen it. He had been right in thinking these elves were associated with her somehow. After that, the elf then told him who he was. The elf's name was Zaffre Firyn and that he was the Prince of the Red Hawk. Why did that title sound familiar? The name hadn't sparked any bells but the title sounded familiar.
After answering him, the elf tore open a portal and left. Their battle was done and over with. Mentally cursing to himself, Damien did the excruciating means of getting to his feet. It hadn't been an easy process since his whole left leg didn't want to move with the piercing pain he had on his left. Struggling for a good few minutes, he realized the fire was now much closer than it had before. Seeing the smoke, Damien cursed inwardly at it. He had tried to stop those responsible for it but he had failed. If those elves hadn't interferred, he might've gotten a hold of that girl.
Limping, Damien wondered how the other two were doing. Orion and Chloe surely may have learned of what happened here? If not Chloe, Orion surely must have since he was probably a bit closer to the market area than Chloe. Ripping open a portal, Damien limped through it. When he came back out, he found himself in the midst of total chaos. People were fighting to put out the flames and it didn't look too good.
'Shit!' he thought. Limping out of the portal, Damien looked up to see water elementals all over the place, fighting the flames. As he watched, a kanji letter appeared on his forehead for water once again. Damien, even though he was injured, wanted to help. It was partially his fault that the fire got to be this bad. If he hadn't taunted that girl earlier she wouldn't have resorted to cyclones of blue flames. If the others were here, Damien would try to locate them first before returning to base and after trying to help.
Extending a hand at one building nearest of him, Damien felt something within suddenly surge forth. Water had spouted from his hand as if it were being dispensed from a garden house on full blast. This, of course, startled him since he had never done anything like this before. Imediately, Damien had jerked his hand back and the stream stopped just as abruptly. 'I'm...a water elemental?' he thought, puzzled.

Orion watched the medic do her work. She worked her hands up and down the injured areas of the bakery girl. From her hands a light blue wave washed over the areas as they passed. Back home... well what was his home anyway... The royal physician was an old man with healing magic as well. His though did not come out in the same blue wave that this medic used. Orion remembered the green sparks that came from his fingertips. Orion wondered the difference between him and this woman. Was their healing magic different?
"Child don't lean over me like that." The healer said suddenly. Orion had been peering over her shoulder while she was working. His eyes squinted in response to her "child" comment. In addition he had to fight back the urge to say something too.
Well he'd back off then. Perhaps there was more work he could do to help. Looking back over to the market place, he was glad to see that the mission to battle the fire was at least continuing. Whether or not one could say that the fire fighters were winning was hard to say. The flaming dragon had finally been put out. That was a good start at least. However the fire fighters were doing their best to combat the already burning buildings. They managed to get a couple of the buildings under control, but the fire was still spread to many surrounding buildings. They would be working into the night to put out all the fires!
Eyes glancing around, Orion found himself looking at a familiar figure not to far away. It was Damien! For once Orion was actually glad to see the despicable man. He was shooting out a stream of water. "A water elemental user then." Orion thought to himself.
Running over to Damien, Orion stood by him. He didn't want to startle him or anything, as to not get that spray of water directed at him. "When did you get here?" He asked him.

Damien looked at his hand in wonder for a brief moment. How did he even do that? It came to him naturally as if he were breathing. Something had made it possible. What could have made it possible, he wasn't sure. Well, at least he would be of some more use here. The flames were still raging in the village. It would take quite some time to put the fire out. Damien, however, might not be able to last the whole time. His wound, after all, still held him down considerably. While he had been pondering how he had been able to produce the water, a familiar voice asked when he had gotten there.
As Damien turned to face Orion, he did his best to move enough where attention wouldn't be directed at the blood dribbling out of his left side and down it to the ground. He still had time before it would effect his vision and consciousness. Until then, he didn't want to spark alarm or anything. Not that it would alarm Orion. At least that's what he figured since Orion hated him. Admittedly, their times spent encountering one another hadn't been on the best of terms. Stoically, Damien thought of an appropriate answer and to catch his breath without seeming like he was.
"If you mean this part of the village, just now. I have been here in the Marketplace since the fire started..." he breathed for a moment to allow himself to catch his breath. His wound made it hard to breathe because of the pain. "I found out who did it. It was a woman in a dark cloak. She was able to conjure blue colored flames. She's also the one I feel responsible for the orphanage's burning. I saw her make the symbol with my own eyes. I tried to stop her." Damien kept stopping at odd moments to breathe despite trying to hide his pain.
"I almost got the weasel but I was stopped midway. She's affiliated with those damn elves we met back on Twilight Town. I crossed blades with the dark haired one. His name is Zaffre Firyn and claims the Red Hawk Prince still lives." After reporting this, Damien coughed though it could be easily mistaken for the intake of smoke just then. When he got control over the cough, Damien continued.
"They got away though. I could not defeat him..." Damien trailed off then before focusing on Orion now. What had he been through just now? It was clear to Damien the guy had gone through flames somewhere because he had soot on him. "Are you injured?"

Orion was surprised by what Damien was telling him. He had found the people behind it?! According to him a woman had been responsible for the fire. They were also associated with the elves they had met in Twilight Town. It was surprising to Orion to hear that Damien actually fought one.
"Just my luck! If I had run into them I'd have been able to ally myself with them." Orion thought.
He hadn't taken time to really notice Damien's condition, but hearing him cough made him look up. Taking in Orion, he could tell that the man had been hurt by the battle with this Zaffre elf person. He didn't know the extent of the damage that he had taken though.
"I ran into one of the buildings to save someone. I really think I'm going to have to finally change these clothes now. The smoke was pretty bad. There's a healer working on the girl I rescued now."
For now Orion had nothing against Damien. This fire it seemed would bring them to work together in a way. Though there wasn't much he could do to really help. He wasn't a fire elemental user.
"There you guys are! I came here as soon as we received word at the barracks." The voice came from Chloe, who appeared on the other side of Damien. He hadn't seen her approach, so he had no clue as to the actual place she came from. "Is is true? There already talking about a flaming dragon from the order... Sir are you bleeding?" She asked Damien.

Damien remained stoic. If Orion noticed or not, he didn't reveal it. Reading the other's face, Damien could tell that Orion was surprised by those revelations. As for the fight with the elf, Damien didn't think much of it. He had pretty much been toyed with rather than actually fighting the elf. It had been a lucky thing the elf didn't kill him. After all, Damien wouldn't have stood a chance if the elf decided to use his full power. It was odd the way the elf told Damien his full name. Well, at least he had a name to one of the elves.
As he focused on Orion, Damien listened to what he was saying. Orion had gone into a burning building to save someone. Well, that explained the soot all over him. Damien had to agree with Orion that he needed to change those clothes of his. Orion's overall appearance looked akin to a bum on the streets. Of course, Damien was wise enough not to say that observation. That would only earn him a punch to the face or worse. For once, he hadn't anything against Orion right now. They were pretty much in the same boat.
"No worries, you can obtain clothes back at the base. If no one gives you any let me know...and good work."
He observed Orion trying to assess if he were injured. It honestly looked as though he were unharmed. "Seeing as you are unharmed, we should-!" he was cut off by the sudden arrival of Chloe. Turning his head, Damien found Chloe speaking to them at his opposite side. Word had traveled fast and the barracks were now aware of the fire dragons that had formed the symbols of the order. No doubt, alarm was sprung at the base. Considering that she was on the side where Damien's blood could be seen it wasn't to Damien's surprise that she would take notice of it.
"Never mind that now. The dragons have been conjured up by the one responsible for the orphanage's burning. It was a woman clad in a black cloak. I tried to stop her and almost had her if it weren't for the elf getting in my way. They're associated with one another. I fought with the elf and managed to get his name. Zaffre Firyn and he claims that the Red Hawk Prince still lives. Unfortunately, I could not defeat him and thanks to the elf's interference I was unable to capture the girl." Damien took a moment to breathe again. That took a lot of energy to repeat. Damn it, why did he have to go and get himself hurt?
"Anyways, we should try to put these flames out. Try to help anyone that needs it since they got caught up in this mess between us and those trying to expose us." He started to walk purposefully ahead toward another nearby burning building. His gait though was awkward and it had an obvious limp in it. His left leg felt heavier than usual. Spots of blood on the ground had trailed after him. Extending a hand out at the building, Damien once again sent out a burst of water. It wasn't much since it was akin to a garden hose but it did fight the flames after a good couple of minutes. Although he were injured, he was determined to keep going.

Orion watched Chloe, but she seemed thoughtful at Damien's response. She didn't seem to offer much of a response until Damien said that they should try and help out. "Alright. I don't know what I can really do, but if anyone needs help I'll help out." She responded. Orion just nodded.
He wanted to go and check on that bakery girl, while Damien headed over to another house. Orion didn't think to much on Chloe's silence. She was a strange girl though, that was for sure.
Coming to a stop in front of the girl, Orion noticed that she was now in a sitting position and awake. Her legs were healed and the medic her head against her chest. "Oh your..."
Orion started to say with a smile before the elderly medic cut him off. "Hush!" She said. Orion wondered just what she was doing with her head against her chest like that. It wasn't proper for another women to hold her head up against a woman's bosom. The bakery girl looked up and noticed Orion starring at her chest. His face reddened in embarrassment and his eyes shifted away.
"Seems alright to me child. Just don't put to much pressure on those legs for a while." The elderly woman was saying as she stood back up. "And you boy! It isn't proper to stare at a woman's breast." Orion was stunned as she walked away to help someone else. Did he seriously just get called out like that?!
"Um..." Orion looked back down to the girl. She was smiling. "Thanks for saving me."
Orion couldn't help but smile back. "Don't mention it. I'm just glad you are alright."

Damien was thankful that neither of the two tried to stop him. At least, that's what he had thought. He didn't want to be forced back to the barracks just yet over the injury he had obtained. He could endure it a little longer. If his vision got too bad then he would return to the base before he would pass out. Until then, he intended to help with some of the fire. Not only that but he wanted a chance to test this newly found power of his. He never knew that he could use anything with water before. Was this something also that had been in his blood?
Once the flames were out, Damien repeated the process. He had a good line of homes and buildings that he managed to either put out or help aid in putting out. In a way, he felt responsible for the flames. The people here didn't deserve this at all. Romi's orphanage didn't deserve it either. Once he found that girl, he'd show her a thing or two about harming children like that. About harming innocent lives needlessly.
Ignoring his pain, the blood still flowing from his injury, Damien continued helping with the fire. He was too proud to let himself head back just yet. He couldn't afford not helping since Romi lived in this village. He owed her a lot for being his adoptive sister. Damien felt obligated and wanted to help put the flames out.
As he went, he mulled over the events that took place. Why had the Red Hawk Prince clanged a bell in his mind? 'I could have sworn I heard it somewhere before...' he thought as he worked. Eventually, Damien had to come to a stop. He was sweating from pain, fatigue and the amount of blood he had lost. He needed to leave soon and have that wound of his tended to. He was stubborn though. He didn't want to leave just yet.

Apparently Orion and Chloe were of very similar mind to Damien because both of them continued to stay to help out. They were not water users like Damien, but they could help in other ways. Once the fires had been put out of some of the buildings, there was still the need to check for survivors or the dead.
Orion personally helped a small group of guards who had arrived to move the burnt, and often dead bodies. A small medical area had been made right in the middle of the market place. The elderly woman worked hard to heal the worse while the others waited their turn. Orion checked over there once in a while to see if she needed anything.
Often she just told him to move out of her way. As the day wore on and the last fire was finally put out Orion took a moment to gaze around the place. He had counted thirty bodies. Thirty unfortunate souls who had perished because of the fire in this square. The attack couldn't have come at a worse time, the middle of a busy day. A few guards continued to hold off a crowd of people who had gathered to watch.
Orion stayed away from that crowd. He focused on just helping any way he could. He met up with Chloe near the other side of the houses. He had lost track of Damien though. "What happens now?" He asked her.
She shrugged. "The Commander seems to know who did it. He'll probably inform the heads and they'll have to take an action. At least that's what I'd do anyway. Things are looking very bad for us though. I'm surprised the Wilder Family hasn't made any announcements about these attacks yet."

Damien had all but spent what energy he had left. Now, he was just struggling to keep going and his vision was getting bad. A sign that he'd better head back to the base. They had fought the flames hard. In the midst of everything, Damien had seemingly lost where Orion and Chloe had gone. Considering his condition, he couldn't wait for them for much longer. His left leg felt like he had an anvil on it or something it was so heavy now. Breathing was difficult for him too.
'Alright, I did what I could. I can't keep doing this or I'll kill myself. Romi would be pissed if she found out.' He didn't see the smaller figure coming up from behind. No, not an enemy although everyone might as well be considering what Damien had been through all day. No, it was Aiden. Aiden had come over spotting Damien and would have said something if the older guy hadn't torn open a portal. Seeing Damien head into it, Aiden dived off the nearby building he had been standing on and dived in after him. Damien would not be pleased once he discovered on the other end his visitor.
Indeed he wasn't pleased for as soon as Damien had stepped out, he barely stepped away from the portal when Aiden landed on a heap on the floor directly behind him. "What-?" Damien exclaimed before glancing down. There was Aiden, pushing himself up looking sheepish.
"Hey, Damien!" Aiden greeted him as if it were prefectly normal to pop up behind Damien like that. Damien, wounded and tired, glowered down at him.

Unaware that Damien had already left, Orion let a small yawn escape and stretched his arms. "Perhaps we should head back to base then?"
Chloe nodded in agreement. "I agree. I heard that they're going to let the people start coming forward to see if they can identify some of the dead." Orion didn't want to stick around for that. It would be to sad to watch.
He followed Chloe as they headed down one of the alley ways. Orion didn't know this place to well, but Chloe seemed to because she followed the alley to a side street that Orion recognized as the road they could walk back to the barracks. The sun above was already beginning to set and for the most part there were very few people on the road. This area was made of mostly homes and apartment complexes.
"Something needs to be done about the person who is framing the order." Chloe told Orion. Personally Orion was a bit torn on that matter. He didn't like the matter that they were going around publicizing the order, however it was making it easier to take down the order.
"I need to take down one of the heads." Orion reminded himself. However to Chloe he actually said, "I'm sure Damien will be doing just that." He really didn't care what Damien did, but he had to admit the guy wasn't too bad. He had helped out with the fire after all. Heck even Chloe had helped out with the fire.
It made Orion wonder just how the Order planned to bring about the supposed end of worlds when their members were helping to keep it alive. It didn't make much sense to him. "I wonder if their all just soldiers. Wait for the moment that the heads come in to tell them where to stick their blade." Orion went over this thought for the rest of the way until at last the barracks came into sight.

Damien openly frowned with displeasure at Aiden. The idiot must have hopped through the portal before it closed up behind him. Damien blamed himself for letting it happen. Well, no use now. Aiden was in their midst whether he liked it or not. When he got the chance, he'd have to portal the kid back out of the base so he wouldn't be able to find his way back here. Just as he was considering this, those that were in their immediate area dropped what they were doing to come over and see who had just arrived. Ever since they received word with what happened in the village, the base had become similar to that of a hive full of angry bees. Everyone was on the alert for anything suspicious.
When Damien had arrived with Aiden in tow, they had thought an enemy had just entered the base. As people rushed over, they soon realized it was only Damien. However, they did not recognize the teenager that was still on the floor, sitting in a heap on it looking foolish. Damien was forced to take his gaze from Aiden when someone approached him.
It had been the same young man that Damien had spoken to the first time he came to this base after the Twilight Town incident. There was a look of concern on his face when he noted the appearance of Damien. After all, crimson red blood was still steadily flowing down his left side where the sword had injured him. It was a wonder how Damien had still been able to stand. Although, it was becoming obvious that he wouldn't be able to for much longer, already Damien's eyes appeared unfocused when he turned his attention to him. It was unsettling to think someone had done this to one of their commanding officers.
"Sir, we've received word about what happened in the village." Damien had given a nod at that. When he said nothing, the man looked at Damien's injury again. The amount of blood was chilling. Where the wound might not have been initially fatal, it could easily become fatal if it didn't get looked at soon. "Shall we er...fetch you a stretcher and take you to the medical ward?" he asked Damien then.
"Is it really that necessary?" Damien inquired with a sigh. Being tended to like he were something fragile didn't rest well with him. He'd rather walk to the ward himself. However, at his current state, he knew that he couldn't make it on his own without fainting.
"Sir, your wound is bleeding rather steadily. You might faint if we allowed you to walk there by yourself." Damien gave an exasperated sigh as he shook his head. No matter how he looked at it, he would have to comply or people would put up a fuss with him. He hated to do it though,it made him feel weak. If anything he hated it was appearing as though he were in a vulnerable state.
"Alright, fine. The kid here-" he indicated Aiden then "is to be taken care of while I'm being tended to. Don't let him out of your sight. He's not a prisoner but I don't want any harm to come to him while I'm away. Make sure that you see to it." The young man gave a nod while Aiden groaned. He was going to be babysat like some sort of child. Already, he had folded his arms stubbornly and mumbled about not being a child. Damien ignored this as he continued to gaze at the young man before him.
"Know that Chloe and Orion have assisted me. I want you to let them back into the base if they should arrive. As for the details of what happened tonight, know that the Red Hawk Prince is still alive. Know that the one responsible for the burning of the orphanage is a woman. I wasn't able to fully identify her since an elf blocked my way. This elf I had seen on Twilight Town. I can confirm that they were responsible for the Twilight Town Massacre and are responsible for trying to expose us to the public here on this world now." It had been a lot to say and Damien found himself pausing to catch his breath. His breathing wasn't easy with his wound and it was painful. When he had finished, Damien could feel his knees starting to weaken. Any longer and he would surely faint. He knew because the sound around him sounded muffled as if his head were underwater at the time. His vision, where originally blurry, was now seeing yellow overcome his sight.
"I-I need to rest." Before he finished, already a stretcher had arrived and as Damien was escorted toward it and instructed to lay down on it, he just about blacked out as they carried him away. By the time the others would get back, Damien would be in the medical ward already.

When they reached the base, Orion was surprised to be welcomed in without much of a hassle. He had been expecting it from what Chloe had been saying about everyone being alert. The time that they arrived was after Damien would have been brought to the medical ward. For that reason they didn't see him nor the young boy that seemed to follow him around like a puppy.
Once inside Chloe received several nods and even smiles from among peers. Orion on the other hand could feel their stares on his back. His popularity here was still bad. People didn't respect him or want anything to do with him.
"Guess I'll just head back to my room then." Orion thought. God forbid that people actually question him being with someone. That seemed taboo here.
Sighing aloud and running his hand through his hair he spoke. "Guess I'll see you later then. I'm going to my room to change out of these clothes."
Chloe stopped suddenly and turned to him. "Don't be a stranger now, Black Prince."
She really needed to stop calling him that. He wasn't the prince of anything anymore. "Sure." He agreed but their was no heart to his words. Chloe seemed to gaze at him for a moment longer. Orion wondered if she was going to say something more, but instead she just nodded and walked away.
Leaving Orion on his own, he made his way over towards the barracks.

Aiden certainly did seem to follow Damien around a lot. Why for, Damien didn't know but the kid was hard to shake off it seemed. He didn't understand why. Damien didn't know anything more as soon as he had laid down on the stretcher to be carried off to the medical ward. Aiden was taken to the barracks. Aiden didn't particularly like it though. However, he hadn't much of a choice. He sat on the bench he was escorted to with his arms crossed.
As Damien was carted into the medical ward, his consciousness was somewhere else. The blood loss made him see odd things. There was a thing about people wearing armor, he was adorned in blue and the others of varying colors. They were all clustered together talking about something pertaining to "Dark God". From what Damien knew of, the Order was supposedly associated with a god, some dark god? He couldn't remember but it seemed familiar.
The people around him, Damien didn't know them by name or face but for some reason he felt that he knew them. Why would he know people he had never met in his entire life? Damien was fairly certain that he had never seen them before. That was the only part of his consciousness's traveling that made any sense. The rest was...strange to say the least, far more strange than the armored people. Then, Damien's consciousness switched to something odd. He saw two twins with matching eyes and hair color. The two were fueding about something. One was a boy and the other a girl. Something about betrayal. Before he could really grasp much of it, his consciousness changed to something else again.
This time, Damien found himself in an endless void of nothing. It seemed like he was the only one in this odd void. "Where the hell am I?" he wondered. Damien didn't expect anyone to answer him since it very much felt like he was alone and talking to himself. No matter where he looked, he could see nothing but an endless void of what appeared to be the darkness that of which one saw just before drifting off into their dreams. He didn't know how much time he spent unconscious but he had to wonder if he had lost too much blood. Did he die from blood loss? That didn't feel right. He couldn't have.
In the world where everyone was currently awake, outside of Damien's mind, Damien was in the process of being stiched up. His left side had obtained quite a slice to it. His kindey on that side just narrowly avoided getting injured. Whomever had attacked him knew what they were doing or Damien had just been lucky enough to stop it. Only the elf knew though what he had been doing when he cut Damien in that fight. As the medical ward's doctor tended to Damien, he muttered to himself in his work. "How the hell did he manage to be still standing throughout the time he had been cut?"
As Orion entered the barracks, Aiden was seated at one of the long benches with a chin resting on his arms, hunched over the bench's table before him, looking bored. Honestly, he followed Damien around because he was one of the only people that had given him much attention and not hurt him. He was like his brother before...well, Aiden shook his head to free himself of the bitter memories. Aiden considered Romi as his family, much like how Damien viewed her. Hearing footsteps, boredly, Aiden glanced over at who was coming over to the barracks.

Orion laid eyes on Aiden right as he came up to the barracks. He hadn't noticed the youth until he was practically next to him. "Oh you're that one kid that ran off... Why are you in a place like this?" The last Orion had known the Order didn't allow kids into the organization. If they started too this could be a whole different problem. Children were easily influenced.
---------------
She hung to the shadows as she traveled away from the Order. She would not be missed for the remainder of the night so there was no worry of being missed. Traveling through shadows at night made it easy for her to stay unnoticed. Even when she was forced to leave a shadow the dark suit she wore made it easy for her to blend in with the natural darkness of night. The moon still shone in the sky in a sideways grin, but the light it offered was minimal with a cloudy overcast.
Making her way back to the market district, she came to a pause in an alley. Unknown to her it was the same alley that Darius had battled Zaffre in. She waited in the shadows until a portal opened in front of the wall. Out of it walked the Emperor and Mara. The girl looked the same as before, but she now stood with a new found smugness to her. The way she looked at the Emperor made her want to knock the seductive longing off of Mara's face.
"I better watch her closely." She thought. The Emperor waited and she wasn't going to make her liege wait any longer then he had too. Stepping out of the darkness she let Mara see her for the first time. The female looked at her with disapproving eyes. The look meant nothing to her.
Going down on one knee, she bent her head and waited for the Emperor to tell her to raise. "Rise." He said and she complied. The Emperor looked as he always did. His medium length blond hair, knowing eyes that had wisdom that was beyond his body, and the black cloak he always wore. "Mara is now officially a part of the cause. How goes things on the end of the order?"
"The Prince has made himself known to Damien. I figure it is only a matter of time before he tells his father. With the increased exploitation to the order I believe a head should be coming here soon."
The Emperor said nothing in response to what she had just informed him about. He was never one to share his thoughts with really anyone. His words were usually always questions and orders. Very seldom were their explanations.
"What about the book?"
Her head sank at that question. "I have had no leads my Lord. I have not had any opportunity to get a hold of it."
The Emperor nodded once again. "That book is your number one priority. I must have it. Follow that ward of one of the Four Heads. Meanwhile Mara you are to continue to cause destruction here in the name of the Order. Do not fail me either of you. The powers I gave you, I can surely take away."
She fell to a knee in respect as did Mara. She listened to the sound of a portal opening and closing before she stood up. Mara walked over to her and looked her up and down. She could feel the young woman sizing her up. "To think that I was taking orders from a brat..." She said to her.
Chloe didn't wait. She acted. She bent the shadow that Mara's left foot was stepping on and suddenly the young woman found herself falling backwards closer into the shadows. The shadow that Chloe had bent had sprouted in the form of a hand that grabbed Mara's foot, causing her to fall on her face. With half of her legs now in the shadows, more hands grabbed Mara until she was fully in the shadow.
Walking over to her, Chloe stepped in the shadow. The shadows were her domain. When she was in their proximity she controlled anything they covered. Chloe's appearance changed when she stepped into the shadow. Gone was the young sixteen year old girl, and in its place was nothing but a shadow of a naked woman with two pointed horns on her head and two black bat wings sprouting from her back. She pulled out a dagger made of dagger out of her sleeve and pointed it right at Mara's throat.
"You are never safe. The moment you loose favor with The Emperor I will kill you." Chloe left it at that. She left a stunned Mara on her ass as she walked through the shadows back to the barracks.

One would probably consider Damien blissfully unaware but he was pretty much uneasy where he found himself. There looked like nothing that stretched on and on all around him. For once, he actually felt like the only human being there. Why he was here, he hadn't a clue. He didn't even know where he was. Damien didn't think that he was trapped in his own consciousness right now while his body was recovering. Outside, the doctor had just finished stitching Damien's side and was now dabbing at the wound one final time to clean it up.
Aiden's boredom had quickly left him when he took notice of Orion, who in turn took notice of him. As if surprised to see Aiden there, Orion had questioned him about what he was doing in the barracks. His excitement though dwindled fast when he heard what Orion had called him. A disgruntled look spread on his face then as he folded his arms unhappily. "I'm not a kid! How many times do I gotta tell you guys that? And the name's Aiden not kid!" he grumbled.
After a brief moment of silence, whether or not Orion apologized, Aiden didn't seem to be able to be silent for long. It seemed like he had decided to dismiss it for a moment to answer Orion's question. "For your information, I dived into that fancy shmancy portal thingy that Damien dude can use. He didn't even know I did so until we ended up here. Man, was he bleeding!" he had sat up more fully then. Stretching a little, he continued. "I dunno how he did it but he only just managed to make it here before fainting. Not sure how he can do those portal thingies but I sort of got stuck here until he's conscious again...but he did manage to say some odd things. Dunno what he was talking about but yeah. He's the reason why I am left here being babysat by old snaggle tooth over there!" Aiden had whispered that last part, using his hand to cup the side of his lips so that the other wouldn't hear him when he spoke, pointing at a disgruntled looking blond haired guy who had to be in his early thirties. He was openly frowning at Aiden, knowing the teenager had just said something about him.
After a moment, Aiden then peered back over at Orion curiously. He definitely wasn't bored anymore by the looks of him. "So...Orion, was it? Are you really a prince or was that just a title you were being called?" Oh no, the odd questions began. If Orion was smart, he'd avoid interaction with Aiden if he could help it. Aiden was full of questions and he never seemed to shut up either. It seemed as though in place of Damien, he had latched onto Orion here.

Orion was somewhat surprised to hear that Damien had been injured. He hadn't seemed to be that injured back at the fire. "No reason to care about him though. He's nothing but a thug." Orion tried telling himself as he listened to "Aiden" continue on.
Unlike Damien, Orion had no clue as to how old this kid was. Heck he even found himself smiling when Aiden gestured to his personal guard. Orion was never one to make smart decisions. He took a seat on the ground next to Aiden. There wasn't really a rush for him to get back to his room really. Aiden would have to put up with the unfortunate smell of fire though. It clung to Orion's mucky clothing.
"I was a prince. Technically, by blood, I still am. Kind of threw away my whole royal name and everything though. Now I'm a nobody." Orion found himself looking away at the last sentence. He didn't like admitting that out loud but it was the truth. He wasn't anybody anymore.
