(OOC: It's perfectly fine lol. Size doesn't matter to me.)
It seemed that Damien and Orion were in mutual, silent agreement. The two of them cared for Aiden's well being and that's what appeared to be keeping them at peace for now. How long it would last, one could only guess. For now, they weren't at each other's throats. Aiden had eventually popped up after hearing what Natalia had said. He wasn't sure how something like this could be viewed as a gift. The changes he had still needed some getting used to. Apparently, he was an elf but what elf had sharp teeth? That part made no sense if he was suppose to be an elf. On top of it, Damien was fairly certain none of the elves had their pupils contracting like cat-like slits from what he knew of.
"An...elf?" Aiden replied with a confused look on his face. His attention was brought back toward Orion when he had placed a hand on his shoulder, telling Aiden that he was an elf. Aiden furrowed his brows at him with obvious confusion. No doubt, Aiden didn't believe he was an elf. Damien could just see it in the teenager's eyes. It was that look he had when he was about to ask about something else. Orion, seemingly sensing this, had distracted them from it by asking Natalia about the elves not feeling sorry for themselves. Well, it worked...for a short time.
"But...you guys don't have sharp teeth, do you?" Aiden asked her. He was clearly just curious. Natalia didn't appear to have sharp teeth. Damien was somewhat relieved to hear Aiden bombarding someone with questions. It meant the teenager was returning to his normal self again.
"Don't worry about it, Aiden. You'll get used to what you are now. All in due time, of course and hopefully before we're all old and gray." Damien had ruffled Aiden's hair then to try and take his mind off of it for now. He had to agree though with Aiden's question about the teeth. Damien didn't think he had seen any of the elves with noticeably sharp teeth like that. He wasn't going to voice it though. No need to get into an argument with Natalia about what had happened when none of them really knew what had happened.
"Augh! Not the hair!" Aiden griped before hopping to his feet to get out of Damien's reach. The fashion he had done it though was overwhelming for him. He had overestimate just how much he had needed to hop and wound up faceplanting into the ground just before Natalia in the process. "Oof!" he exclaimed before pulling himself back up, spluttering. "I guess I...don't know what I can do and didn't need to have to put as much effort into that hop!" he said sheepishly. Damien gave a chuckle before getting to his feet. It was a first. Walking over to Aiden, he grabbed hold of the collar of his shirt and lifted him up back onto his feet.
"Yep, still the same old Aiden. What do you say...kiddo?" Damien said that last part on purpose.
Aiden frowned openly at him. Crossing his arms in a huff, Aiden retorted. "I'm not a kid!" Such a statement only really confirmed that fact. The fact that he was still the same old Aiden Wilder even if his appearance changed a bit.

Natalia didn't seem to have an answer to Aiden's question about the teeth. Orion could care less though. He was just happy to see the kid's head up. With that first step accomplished, Orion was certain it was only a matter of time before the kid was back to his old self.
Listening to the exchange between Aiden and Damien, Orion was full of smiles. Seeing Damien ruff up Aiden's hair and than the teen responding by leaping away, Orion was surprised by his sudden strength. Orion hadn't been expecting it and was taken aback by it. The teen certainly couldn't have done that before! "It must have been the change.." Orion thought. So far as he could tell he hadn't seen an elf leap like that yet.
As Damien and Aiden continued speaking with one another, a new voice appeared. "Is everything alright." Looking over his shoulder, Orion spotted the elder coming up behind them. The elder looked absolutely spent. He walked with his shoulder's hunched. As Orion made eye contact he spotted a tiredness in the elder that he had not noticed before. It seemed that this event had taken a toll on the elder.
"Mother Gaia has made the young human into one of her own!" Natalia declared with pride. The elder's eyebrows raised with interest. As he stood before the group he walked past Natalia, Orion, and Damien, and over to where Aiden was standing.
Coming up real close, the elder placed his hands on Aiden's shoulder and looked into Aiden's eyes. "Mother Gaia has indeed done something special for him." The elder said. But Orion noted that he had not mentioned whether or not Natalia was right about him being an elf. Releasing Aiden's shoulders, the elder turned to Natalia.
"Dear. Would you mind going and helping Ava. Your prayers could certainly be of use for those who were injured."
Natalia nodded. "Right away sir!" She said before turning about and running off towards the battlefield.
"Is everything alright?" Orion asked. He regretted asking it the moment after the words left his mouth. It was a silly question. Of course things weren't all right! They never were.
The elder sighed. "We've lost fifteen to those fires already. There are some twenty more who were nearest the fires when they appeared..." The elder turned his head to gaze off towards the battlefield. Even from here Orion could see the path the flames left on the scorched parts of the forest. The fires must have been pretty hot because much of the wood and greenery were now nothing but black and ash.
"We will have a passing ceremony tonight for the dead where the dead will be returned to the Mother. I must send word to the surrounding villages of what has happened. I have some heavy decisions to make that affect all of my people. After the passing ceremony I would like to speak to the three of you about your travels and what has happened here today if that is alright? Droth has volunteered his house as a place for you to stay for the time being. Food was delivered there for you to eat, so you are welcome too it."
Hearing the elder's words, Orion personally didn't mind staying. He needed a moment after all of this to rest. Plus he felt that talking to the elder might be beneficial. He seemed to know the Emperor, and the Emperor him. Still Orion didn't feel like he was the leader of the group. He didn't want to do anything the other two didn't want to do. For that reason he glanced at Damien to see what he would say in response to the elder.

The sound of a new voice had ceased Damien's and Aiden's exchanges. Whatever change came over Aiden, it was going to take some getting used to. There was no telling what the kid could do with his change. That hop earlier, in which Aiden had faceplanted into the ground, seemed rather springy. Aiden never had been able to do that before. None of the elves had jumped like that in that fashion either as far as Damien knew. Regardless, he was still the same Aiden Wilder. Damien wouldn't treat him any differently.
It had been the Chief Elder who had returned. Judging by his stance, the elder appeared to be tired. No doubt, everything had taken quite a toll on the elderly elf. It had been Natalia, out of them all, to answer the elder's question first. The elder passed all of them to approach where Aiden was. The elder had placed his hands on Aiden's shoulders, looking into his eyes as if he were looking into Aiden's soul or something. Aiden blinked up at the elderly elf questioningly. "I'm not sure what happened but...I'm no longer hurting."
The elder merely mentioned that Mother Gaia had done something special for Aiden. He hadn't confirmed though whether or not Aiden was an elf now. Aiden didn't think he was anyway considering the sharp teeth. The Chief Elder then turned to Natalia and requested that she go and help Ava claiming her prayers would help the injured. With that, Natalia had agreed and headed off. As soon as she had left, Orion asked if everything was alright. Damien looked over at the Chief Elder then wondering if he was. That battle hadn't been the best. If Damien hadn't intercepted that attack, the elder could have been wiped out by his own attack.
The Chief Elder mentioned that they had lost fifteen elves to the fire. Damien looked out at the battlefield, furrowing his brows at the scorched symbols that the fire had left behind. There were twenty ot so more that had been close to those very flames. There was a chance, from what the elder was saying, that they might lose more. The elder had a lot of decisions to make that would effect his people. It sounded like that must also be what was bothering the elder. Decision making was never an easy thing. One had to take in all the pros and cons before they made their decision and even then it didn't mean it was always the right course of action.
A ceremony for the dead would be held that night. The elder would like to speak with them afterwards about what had happened and their travels. Droth had volunteered to have them stay at his place during this time. Damien wasn't so sure about that idea. Still, Droth would be busy anyway with those out there that were injured. Droth wasn't as bad when Ava was around either.
"Alright, thank you, sir." Aiden gave a nod as well when Damien said that.
"Do you need help getting back to your home? You look really tired..." Aiden offered to the Chief Elder.

The chief elder shook his head. "Thank you for offering your help young one, but all of you have done enough for us. I will not be going home anytime soon anyway. Do you need a guide to Droth's house. I can have someone take you." The elder responded. He glanced around, looking for a nearby elf to accompany them back to Droth's house.
Feeling fairly certain that they could find the place on their own, Orion spoke up. "That's alright. We can manage on our own I think." The chief elder seemed relieved to hear this because Orion spotted his shoulders lowering in relaxation.
"Alright than. I will have someone come get you after the ceremony. Again thank you for your help." The elder turned to leave them then. Orion could tell that he still had a lot on his mind. As he watched him, Orion was reminded of his father all of a sudden. Often his father had walked with the same sort of posture that the elder did. His eyes had looked the same as well, full of burden.
"Is this what leadership does to you?" Orion wondered. If he was still going to be a Prince he might have walked the same way eventually. "I guess there's pros and cons to everything." He realized. All this time Orion had only seen the cons of no longer being a prince. He had never thought to look at the pros. Currently he was seeing one.
Figuring now was a good of time as any to head over to Droth's place, Orion made sure everyone was ready to go before he walked with Damien and Aiden to Droth's house. As the elder had said there were plates of food waiting for them. Orion helped himself to some food. From there it was just a matter of wasting time and waiting. All the while the events of his dream continued to occupy his mind. Had that been real? Or was it just a dream? Lakari was definitely bad news. He knew that for sure. But what could they do about it? They were just three people. A former prince, a former member of the Order of the Destroyer, and a kid. They were only three people against a former necromancer and his entire army.
Orion was not the type to bring up his worries to the group. He and Damien weren't exactly friends but they at least tolerated each other. Truthfully Orion didn't exactly trust him fully still either. He had yet to do something to earn Orion's trust completely. Still Orion was slowly warming up to him. It was probably only a matter of time before they became friends.

Aiden listened as the elder informed him that he wouldn't be going home anytime soon and that they had already helped the elves enough. Well, more so Damien than Aiden or Orion. Aiden hadn't done anything except get hurt by something that had been shot at him that was originally intended for the Chief Elder. Before either could answer the elf's question about having someone lead them back to Droth's home, Orion had answered for them. Yes, finding their way back to Droth's after being there, they should be able to find where it was again without much trouble. It wasn't like Droth's home was hidden. This seemed to take some weight off of the Chief Elder's shoulders as he had he informed them that he would have someone come and get them once the ceremony was over. With that, he thanked them one last time before leaving their company.
Damien and Aiden watched him go before they decided to leave. Damien said nothing as Aiden seemed to scamper ahead of them. As they went, Damien watched the teenager's back. His movements were a bit different. It's as if he were much lighter on his feet due to the change that he went through. In fact, Damien wouldn't be surprised if the kid decided to suddenly start springing instead of normal walking. It just seemed that way since the kid had quite a spring in his step now. It were almost as if the gravity's pull on him didn't burden him as much as it did them.
As soon as the three of them got to Droth's house, they saw food ready for them all. Quietly, Damien placed himself at a seat and helped himself to some of the food as well. Aiden looked at his food curiously. He wasn't as willing to dig in as Damien or Orion for some reason. In fact, he seemed somewhat repulsed by anything that wasn't meat. He couldn't easily chew anything plant by the looks of it either. Damien eyed him curiously for a moment wondering what Aiden had become.
"So...uh..." Aiden spoke, breaking the silence that had been taking over the room for a while. He looked between Damien and Orion. Neither of the elder males seemed intent on speaking all that much. For once, it had been a somewhat peaceful silence. The two weren't angry with each other from what he could gather. "Orion! Did you...were you...?" Aiden trailed off as he looked to Orion then. He was implying the poisoning that Orion had but he didn't think Orion or Damien would catch on. "Er...you know! Were you cured?" Aiden finally came out and asked it. He had been wondering since he saw Orion out on the battlefield. He didn't jeopardize his health over finding out what was going on, did he? Damien looked then, too, at Orion. It seemed like the coloring in Orion had returned. He didn't have a sickly look...well, that is if you didn't count the beard or the long, scraggly hair.

Overall Orion was feeling all right. For the first time in a while he was feeling both mentally and physically well. His mind was somewhat at ease and at the same time he felt well enough to stand on his own. Droth had done great with his healing arts. Now that Orion had gotten something to eat he felt somewhat more on par. [clor=purple]"I was cured."[/color]
Orion then proceeded to tell the two of them what exactly had happened within that white light. He started from the beginning, going into detail about the appearance of an eye on the elf's forehead and being whisked away inside his own body. The emotional level of his tale went up and down as he described the confusion of first being there and the annoyance of Droth as he made his way towards where the poison was. As he reached the climax he said, "I had no choice than. It was either be defeated or summon the armor. So I summoned the armor..."
It was hard for him to describe what it was like when he put on that armor. It was a feeling that Orion still wasn't used too. It was almost as if there was an angry demon inside of him that became unleashed when he put on that armor. "I don't know how to tell friend from foe when I use that armor. Don't get me wrong I feel great when I use it. I feel so much more powerful, almost like nothing can stop me. But with it comes this... rage. I get so angry at everything and everyone. That's why I attacked you guys back then." Orion knew that he had brought up attacking Damien and Aiden before, but this was the first time he had ever gone into detail about what it was like to wear that armor.
Honestly it scared him a bit. He never knew if he would be able to completely control his actions when wearing that armor. He wished there was something he could do to change it. "I sort of miss my old armor." He said to himself. Before the appearance of the dark armor, Orion had been able to summon a weak form of armor. He had no abilities with said armor, like he did now, but it had protected him in some tough situations. It had been a part of him as surely as this new armor was a part of him now.
Orion didn't even know how he had gotten this armor really in the first place. He still did not remember the interaction he had with Lakari back in the Land of Dragons. That was how this whole mess with the armor and poison had started, by shaking the elf's hand and accepting his help. Additionally Orion had no recollection of another fact. He owed Lakari a life. If he did not take that life when it was asked of him, he would die via the magic of the dark armor. But none of this was really known to Orion so it didn't bother him. Well it didn't bother him yet anyway.
Sighing, Orion stood. Stretching his arms over his head and following that up with a few leg stretches, he finished by doing some chest twists. "So what do you guys think we should do after we meet with the elder? I... You guys are the only people I really am close to now. I'd like our group to stay together if you guys don't have any better things to do." What Orion just said was not something that he easily admitted too. All his life Orion had been taught to do things as a leader. A leader never requests, he makes orders and demands. Additionally a leader is never supposed to admit any sort of downfall before his subordinates. His statement went against everything that he had been taught. Yet Orion felt like it was something he should ask and say.

Aiden nearly jumped out of his seat when Orion had informed them that he had been cured of his illness. The poison in his system was gone. Orion would live as far as they knew. Seeing the looks on their faces, Orion went on to explain how the process had been done. Damien rose his eyebrows a bit at the mention of a third eye. That kind of thing wasn't normally seen. Then again, neither was what happened with Aiden normally seen and hardly anyone knew what was normal in the elven kingdom.
By the time Orion reached the end of his story, he told them that within he had the choice to either be defeated or eliminate the poison. In order to do so, he had summoned the armor. Damien looked over at him with a raised eyebrow. If Orion had returned in the armor, Damien wouldn't have been in a good predicament and neither would have Droth. Just like Orion said, the armor made him not able to distinguish from friend or foe. As if remembering that, Aiden rubbed the side of his jaw.
"That explains a lot!" Damien gave a nod at what Aiden said.
"From what I know, there are forms of armor out there that cannot be explained but give the wearer powers they normally wouldn't have. Some good...some bad." Damien said that last part slowly. This topic seemed to really interest Aiden as he had sat up more in his seat.
"OH! My family has those! Er, well, only a few of us can summon the old armor we have on what used to be the old Wilder estate. Not sure why but it's good armor."
As Orion got to his feet doing a series of stretches and chest twists, it were as if he had been renewed. No doubt, a great weight had been lifted off Orion's shoulders. It was good to see that he was alright. It was a small thing but Damien viewed him helping Orion and Aiden make it here as one small step to atoning for what wrongs he had done. Damien wouldn't admit it to Aiden or Orion but Damien decided that what he would do with his time now was atone for what he had done in the past. No one regretted what he did more than he had. All this time, he had been brainwashed into thinking he was being a hero when in reality, he wasn't. He wasn't even a Quentin...only partly. His true genes came from that of the Stark family.
Out of the blue, Orion asked Aiden and Damien what they would do after meeting with the elder. Apparently, he had considered him the only ones close to him. Orion wanted them to stick together. Aiden was the first to speak, as usual. "Pfft, you think I'm going back home? No way! I'm sticking with you guys." Once again, Aiden had the habit of volunteering people. He had referred to Damien as one of the guys which meant he expected Damien to agree to stick around.
Damien took a bit longer to say anything but not because he hated either of them. Orion, he wasn't sure of despite what had been said but it seemed they were on better terms. "...I'll stay. I've nothing better to do." Damien then remembered the woman he saw in Land of Dragons speaking with a voice that hadn't been her own. It had been that elf's voice. "Should we look into that dream of your's? I think I found something today a bit earlier that might hold some proof to what you said. That woman from Land of Dragons had appeared. She was the one attacking the village here...her mind was not her own it seemed. She spoke with a male's voice...that elf's voice. The one that stopped us from defeating Ivan." Damien had looked right at Orion when he said it. Aiden looked between the two curiously.

Orion should have known that he could count on Aiden to stick around. Ever since the teen had first introduced himself to them he had the uncanny knack of appearing at the most random times. He had seemingly invited himself into their party and hadn't left since. So his reply came with no surprise. Hearing him lump Damien together with him wasn't that surprising either given that Aiden had known Damien before he met Orion.
Whether or not Damien would agree to what Aiden was saying was a bit more up in the air. As Damien had proved back in Cornelia, the former son of Ivan was not afraid of going off and doing his own thing. There was no guarantee that he would choose to stay with them. As Orion waited for Damien's answer he couldn't help but glance over at him. The two really were more alike than they knew.
Listening to Damien's answer and what he said after that brought Orion to silence. He had not been focusing on the battle between the elder and the hooded figure not to long ago. It made him wonder just why the elf had been here in the first place. Orion had not witnessed any of the conversation between the elder and the figure, Damien was the only one in their party who had.
"Why do we keep running into that darn elf everywhere we go? He helped us back in the Land of Dragons, but here your saying he's the one responsible for everything that happened and Aiden getting hurt?" The whole thing confused Orion. None of them knew who that elf really was. Their only knowledge about came from their interactions with him.
A sudden knock on the door shifted Orion's attention. Glancing at the door, Orion spotted Ava waiting in the door frame. "Hello everyone." She said as she entered Droth's home.
Orion gave Ava a nod in greeting. "I was asked to fetch you. The elder would like to speak with you." She told them. ((OOC: Feel free to get them to the elder))

There really was no getting rid of Aiden. Even if Damien and Orion really wanted the kid out of their company, there was no way of them doing so. The teenager was persistent, stubborn and could be resourceful if he had to be. The kid had basically invited himself into their midst and ever since then, he had been a part of their group. It wasn't to Damien's surprise that he would pit him in with the rest of them. Damien took his time answering. He wanted Aiden to know that he still had a choice in the matter regardless if the kid wanted him to come along or not.
"You can ask the Chief Elder if you don't believe me but after what happened today, I'm certain of it. Even if he was controlling someone else in his stead, he was responsible for what happened here. Like you, I'm not sure why we seem to keep running into him. I wouldn't say he had helped us back there in that fight...merely used that opportune moment to bring attention unto himself and also come into contact with one of our...er, the Organization's Heads..."
Damien wasn't used to talking about the Organization in the past tense. That was why he had slipped up and had a hard time saying who he was to someone else now. He had called himself one of them for so long and a Quentin for so long that it felt somewhat alien to him, this change. Aiden gave a start when there was a knock on the door. In came Ava as she greeted them, informing them that the elder would like to speak to them now. Casting one last glance over at Orion and Aiden, Damien gave a nod and headed out after Ava.
"Well, looks like we've got some talking to do!" Aiden stated before heading out after Damien and Ava. The trip to the Chief Elder's home hadn't been all that difficult. After that battle, Damien hoped the elderly elf would have gotten some rest in the meantime. He had seemed so drained when they had last seen him. As soon as they were ushered inside, Aiden looked around. There had been that strange horse-like creature again. "Hello again!" Aiden greeted it.
The Chief Elder had been already seated at his table. Motioning for them to sit down, he began. "Thank you for coming upon my request."

Orion followed in tow behind Damien and Aiden as they made their way over to the elder's house. After the long that they had no doubt the elder definitely could use some time to rest. The moment they entered his home, Orion could tell that the elder was absolutely exhausted. The weariness and stress of the day were double what they had been when they last saw him. In fact when they entered his eyes were shutting of their own accord until Ava had opened the door, waking him back up.
Seeing the elder in such a state, Orion wondered if perhaps they should just allow the elder to rest and come back another time. These matters were pressing, but not to the degree that they couldn't wait one more night. However the elder seemed ready to talk, as he thanked them for coming upon his request.
He was seated at the table and invited Orion, Aiden, and Damien to take a seat as well. Approaching the opposite end of where the elder sat, Orion took a seat at the other head of the table. "Before all the mess that had occurred earlier today I had been speaking with your young friend over here. He has told me some of what you have encountered on your trails. Would you mind telling me about yourselves Orion and Damien?"
Glancing over at Damien, Orion paused before speaking. Where should he begin? Orion figured he might as well start from where all of this began with him. "My name is Orion Lotus. I am the former heir to the Throne of the Enchanted Domain. My travels began in Twilight Town where I was to fulfill a mission given to me by my father. You see he I was put in charge of infiltrating the Order of the Destroyer..." And so began the story of how he met Damien and Aiden. Orion held nothing back, except about the events surrounding that night of drunkenness which he still didn't remember.
The elder remained silent while he listened. He did not interrupt or ask any questions. When Orion came to the events surrounding their break from the organization, when the dark armor had appeared for the first time, a stern look overcame the elder. To Orion he seemed to be deep in thought. This expression continued through the rest of the story as Orion came to today's events. "And that's how we ended up here..." Orion concluded. Now it was Damien's turn, if he so chose to speak.

Upon entry, Damien could see the Chief Elder nodding off. It was apparent just how tired the elder was. Was it really necessary for them to come and see him now when he was so tired? Damien glanced toward Aiden and then Orion. He said nothing but he wondered if any of them were thinking the same thing. Maybe they should leave? However, their entry had woken him up. Upon seeing them, the elder seemed like he had wanted to talk and was prepared to. What could be so urgent for them to speak with him, Damien wasn't sure. As the elder thanked them for coming, he had gestured for them to sit. Damien and Aiden placed themselves in seats.
The three of them listened as the elder spoke to them. Aiden, he had apparently spoken to about some things. Now, the Chief Elder wished to learn more about them. Namely, Orion and himself. Damien wasn't sure how he would answer the elder. Orion had started first thought and since he held nothing back, Damien couldn't exactly try to hide anything. Maybe the Chief Elder would base his judgment on Damien's help earlier today rather than viewing him as a villain? That was a big fat maybe.
Sitting in silence, Damien had allowed Orion to tell his story. When Orion had finished, Damien knew then that it was his turn. Watching the Chief Elder closely, if only to see what the elder elf had been thinking knowing now what Damien had once been, Damien started as soon as Orion had finished. "Know that as a child, I was raised to know nothing more than what I had been taught and to be nothing but a killing machine brainwashed into thinking what I was doing was heroic under the name of Damien Quentin. I had been...taken from my home, wherever that is, and raised by Ivan, one of the organization's four heads. I was always raised on the idea that if the worlds were destroyed then the universe would be renewed by a deity that would bring all of the worlds back. That's what Ivan believed and as a kid, he fed me this lie. I had no idea of the extent of just how many lies he had kept from me." He sat back a bit, keeping his gaze focused on the Chief Elder.
"Through the many years of harsh training, I eventually made it high enough in the Organization's ranks and was what people would consider as Ivan's right hand...in reality I was nothing more than his errand boy and his attack dog. He told me nothing as to why he sent me out or why I was doing the things he had wanted. Believing I was his son, I believed in what he did and did things without question. All the tasks I did, I always thought I was doing things for the greater good when in reality...I was helping a monster with his dirty work and by extension, proved to be a monster myself unknowingly. Eventually, I began to question why I was doing the things I did...and he wasn't pleased." Damien then went into how Ivan had ordered him to get that book and how he had eventually encountered Orion and eventually, the elves and then Aiden. The events in Land of the Dragons. How he had learned that he wasn't a descendant of Darius Quentin but that of the Starks. What his first name really was, he didn't even know but revealed that he was now "Damien Stark" as far as he knew.
Next, Damien went on about how things went in Cornelia just before they got here. How he had first encountered Maggie sort of explaining what Damien had been doing when he had been away from Aiden and Orion. How the others interpreted what he said was another matter entirely. Finally, Damien explained how they reunited and then wound up where they were now.
"And that's all."

The elder listened to Damien's story in the same silence that he given Orion. His manner remained set in an expression of study as Damien began his story. Orion had pieced together some of Damien's past on his own, but it was different from actually hearing him speak it. To hear Damien talk about his upbringing, with all the lies and misfortunes, it really brought Orion into a feeling of guilt.
"I judged him based off his past." Orion realized. Since the beginning Orion had a pretty negative view of Damien. While that view had slowly changed as they had spent time together, Orion felt bad now for not giving him a chance in the beginning. "I just clumped him in with Ivan and the rest."
As Damien's story continued Orion could see how the teen was slowly changing as the lies of his past unraveled. Orion had more respect for Damien now. "He deserves a second chance... We all do." Orion came to the conclusion as Damien finished his tale.
With all their stories told the elder paused for a moment before replying. "Thank you for telling me your tales. As you can probably tell we have not interacted with the outside world in quite some time. Now I am afraid that I must lead my people into the outside world once more..." As the elder trailed off, Orion decided to ask a question that had been on his mind.
"Excuse me, Sir Elder... But do you know of the elf who we seem to keep running into? Damien said it was his voice that the woman had today."
The elder sighed as his stern studied expression broke into a tired look. "Sadly I do. That voice belonged to an elf that I used to call my best friend. His name was Lakari. However the Lakari I knew is not the creature that inhabits its body. Times back then were different than they are now. Before we made the forest our kingdom we inhabited the entirety of this world. We are the natural natives of this world. When the humans came they forced us off our lands and war broke out between our peoples. Both our people and your people lost many in the bloodbath. To end the war we signed a treaty with the humans. We split the world in two, using this enchanted forest as the dividing line. Both sides agreed to not enter the lands of the other without permission.
"Of course neither side trusted the other so scouting parties were stationed by both sides to look for anyone crossing the border. Both Lakari and I were children when we first entered the forests. My parents were scholars, and Lakari's were scouters. When his parents perished about thirty years later in a skirmish between scouting parties my friend began to change. Prior to his parents death Lakari was a gifted scholar. The magic that Gaia bestowed upon him was something that no other elf has ever had, walls of protection. When his parents were killed Lakari took it personally. He felt that if we had some sort of way to protect our boundaries there would have been no need for scouting parties. Thus he devoted the next hundred years studying scrolls of magic in search of some way to amplify his magic.
"Needless to say many people thought it was a waste of time. Lakari's entire life became studying magic. Personally I thought that his devotion was a good thing. It was good to see my friend focus on something besides the death of his parents. I wish I had the wisdom back then that I do now. I would have known that he was simply running away from what happened, and using the search to do so.
"One day Lakari found a very old scroll that mentioned a sort of power that could be found in a different world. He told me that he was going to venture out past the border in search for gummi ships and access to this "new world". I tried to convince him to stay, but he was having none of it. He left that very night and I never got a chance to say goodbye..."
Lost in his own memories, the elder trailed off. He could see the sorrow that took hold of the elder than. His lips quivered for a moment while his eye lids blinked away tears. "Three hundred years passed before he randomly returned. My friend came back different. He was cheerful, happy, the Lakari I had grown up with, not the crazed researcher that had ran away in the night. He had come back with stronger abilities as well. He put up the wall that he had just destroyed earlier today.
"I shouldn't have been so gullible! I shouldn't have been so trusting. I did not ask about his travels. I did not ask how he had increased his abilities. I was too happy to have my friend back. One night I went to his home to return a book he had brought for me from a different world. When I entered his study I found him there standing in the room alone. He was speaking to himself in a strange language that was not elvan. It was the language of your people. I wish I had known your language as I can speak it now. I might have remembered exactly what he said. But one thing was clear to me. He was speaking to something else.
The elder paused again as he rose. "Excuse me, my legs were falling asleep." Strolling back and forth as fast as his feet could carry him, the elder walked over to the strange horse like creature and scratched underneath the animal's chin. "His favorite spot. This creature is actually older than myself believe it or not. It is one of the few of its kind left."

Damien hoped his story would suffice. He had also hoped that the Chief Elder wasn't going to toss him into shackles for what he had once been a part of. He had made it clear that he had left the Organization of the Destroyer. On top of that, he had helped the elder during the fight earlier today. That, surely, should be enough to redeem him. Even if it didn't, Damien was at least trying to live more honestly. He had, after all, brought Aiden and Orion to this world in search of a cure for Orion's poisoning. Where it gave Damien something to do it also helped him take one step towards making himself find a new means of living his life. He intended to fight Ivan and exact revenge on him but there were many steps he had to take before then and much work to do as well. After all, alone, he wasn't strong enough to take on Ivan yet.
Of course, he had no idea what had been running through Orion's head. He didn't really care to try to read anyone's minds then. Instead, he chose to keep his gaze fixed on the Chief Elder. Not that he was searching for a reaction but to keep himself from daring to look then at the others who were present. He didn't want to see what looks they might have been giving him. He wasn't sure how he would react to them if he did. Were they still thinking ill of him now or were they pitying him? Honestly, he didn't wish to know. He wasn't one that expected a reaction other than people wanting to dispose of him or capturing him whenever they found out about his origin. He wasn't intent on returning to the kingdom of Cornelia anytime soon. Maggie had made it clear what her intentions would be if she had managed to get a hold of him again. If he ever had to face her again, well, Damien wasn't sure how it would turn out. At least no one could contain him because of how handy his portal ability was for others. Right now, Damien wondered if the Chief Elder was going to do capture him. He hoped not.
The Chief Elder broke the silence then, thanking them for telling him their stories. It appeared as though the elder had no intention of containing Damien. From what it sounded like, the elder was curious of the outside world and feared that he would have to lead his people out into the outside world again. As the Chief Elder trailed off, Orion had asked a question that Damien wondered too. Well, of course, Damien hadn't been wondering that just now. He had just didn't know who those elves were. They knew Lakari only by name and what encounters they had with that elf. Other than that, they knew next to nothing about him.
The Chief Elder went on to explain to them who Lakari was. He was an elf the elder had once been best friends with. A tragic incident had happened where Lakari's parents had been killed. The death of his parents had been what changed Lakari since he had studied deeply in magic, eventually leaving his world. When he had returned, he had seemed the same. Lakari had been the one to put up the wall which may have explained why it had been taken down so easily. Eventually, the Chief Elder realized something had overcome his friend when he had noticed him speaking to something else. Just what had he been speaking to?
What that had been though, the Chief Elder didn't say as he had gotten to his feet and walked over to the horse-like creature from before. Aiden was especially curious of the thing. Ever since he had seen it he had wondered what it was called and what it was. "He's older than you?!" Aiden exclaimed. Damien gave a slight sigh as the teenager spoke up. He'd probably lead the conversation in another direction until his questions were answered. "Just what is he, sir?" Aiden then followed up with that question. It wasn't to Damien's surprise that Aiden would ask the Chief Elder this. Even Damien wondered what the thing was when he had spotted it.

Listening to the elder's story it was easy to get lost in his words and simply follow along. The elder had a gift for story telling, which made a lot of sense given his role in the community that he lived in. When the story had stopped, it was like a nail bitter for Orion. He still hadn't really heard the answers to any of his questions. He now knew that the elf and the elder had been close, but that didn't tell him anything about why he kept running into them or what he was doing now.
"Why did he bring me to that place?" Orion wondered, thinking about the dream he had. Seeing the elder stand up and go over to the beast, it should have come to no surprise to hear Aiden asking questions about it. Normally the change in topic would have annoyed Orion, but it didn't today. After everything that had happened to Aiden it further proved that Aiden was back to his curious, talkative self.
The elder smiled as he felt welcomed to talk about something else for a short while. "He is a Yaara Heriryar. They are magical creatures that predate back to before even the first elf was born. They are the true natives of this land. It is said that they made a pact with Gaia to watch over our people. In return we would protect their land. This one's name is Gisir." As the elder spoke the creature's name it let out a neighing sound as if it recognized it.
Smiling the elder, turned to the horse and scratched behind the creature's ears. "He is actually the only one of his kind that I have ever seen before. As far as I know the rest of his kind might not actually exist." If anyone had been paying attention to the mythical creature instead of the elder they would have noticed that the horse actually rolled its eyes in response to what the elder just said. Orion had not been paying attention to the horse so he had not seen it.
Seemingly finished with the creature, the elder lowered his arm and then returned back over to where their party sat at the table. "Getting back to what I was saying before though, things became clear that night. Having walked in on him speaking to something, he immediately stopped and then turned towards me. The eyes that starred back at me were not the eyes of my friend. They were the eyes of a predator. He then told me the grand scheme he had conducted that would fulfill the prophecy. I told him he was crazy of course. The elder at the time had explained to us that what we had experienced had not been real. But Lakari would not listen. He was determined to fulfill that prophecy."
As Orion listened to the elder he had no clue as to what prophecy the elder was talking about. The elder had failed to mention anything about a prophecy during the beginning explanation of the story. "Um... what prophecy are you talking about?" Even though Orion felt bad for interrupting, he felt that it was necessary. How could he understand what the elder was saying without having all the details?
Realizing that he must not have mentioned the prophecy before the elder shook his head as he apologized. "Oh sorry! I forgot to mention that. When we were kids, before your kind came, we embarked on a journey into the mountains. We ended up sleeping in a strange cave during a storm one night near one of the peeks. Turns out the cave actually belonged to a dragon. Long story short the dragon wasn't actually mean or anything like that. In fact it was happy to share its cave with us. Before we left it gave both the two of us three prophecies. One for just my ears. Another just for Lakari's. And the third for both of us to share with the world.
"Turns out the dragon wasn't actually real. The elder at the time told us that the miasma in those caves have hallucinogenic properties. Everything we heard and saw wasn't real. Lakari though never believed that."

(OOC: Love your siggy to go with your avi btw!)
The Chief Elder hadn't really answered Orion's question about why they kept running into that elf. The subject, for the time being, had been turned onto the horse-like creature. As Aiden questioned the elder about it, the elf seemed happy about the change of subject. Hopefully, the change wouldn't stay that way. Damien might get annoyed with Aiden if that were the case. For now, he remained patient and calm as he kept himself back for the time being. The Chief Elder went into an explanation of what the horse creature was.
"Whoa! That's certainly a mouthful!" Aiden had been looking at the horse creature closely as the Chief Elder explained that the horse thing was a species that had been here long before even the elves and were much older. The Chief Elder introduced the horse creature as Gisir. Aiden smiled over at the horse creature, not even aware that his sharp teeth when he smiled could be seen. "Wow, nice to meet you, Gisir!" Aiden greeted the creature.
While the Chief Elder continued about Gisir, Aiden had been watching the creature closely out of interest. He had never seen something like this before. As the elder went on to say that Gisir might be the only one of his kind. The others might actually not be but the way the elder said it, Aiden couldn't help but blink back at Gisir in wonder. Had the creature just rolled its eyes? Aiden was too surprised to even mention it as the Chief Elder finally returned onto the subject they had been talking about earlier. While he had wandered away from Gisir, Aiden had remained fixed on the creature in wonder. Had it really done that?
Damien listened as the elder continued the story. It was an interesting one. The old elf was very good at telling others stories. No doubt, he had obtained it from many years of experience. Apparently, the Chief Elder had caught his friend speaking to something. When Lakari had looked back over at the elf, he had told him something about a prophecy. That Lakari had planned to fulfill it. Before Damien or Aiden could question the man why, Orion had asked it.
The Chief Elder and Lakari, during their travels, had happened upon a cave. In this cave, there had been a dragon. The dragon was said to have been friendly and had given the two prophecies. There had been three of them. One for Lakari's ears only, one for the Chief Elder's ears only and then a third for them to tell to the world. However, the Chief Elder during that time, not the current one, had told them that it hadn't been real. That the young elves had hallucinated the whole thing.
"So what was the prophecy for the world to hear anyway even if it was just a hallucination?" Aiden turned his head then to look over at the adults as Damien had spoke.

((OOC: Thanks I did it meself lol))
The elder returned to his chair at the table. Orion watched him carefully as he waited for him to answer Aiden's question. Personally Orion didn't believe in such silly things as prophecies. "There just ways for people to try and guess what's in store for the future." The reason for this line of thinking is because Orion had never heard a prophecy yet see one come true. There was no reason for him to believe that telling the truth was possible.
"For the light to thrive there must also be darkness. So it must be that the dark one will rise again. He shall spread his hands and the death will follow. The walls of the worlds will break as the stars fall from the sky above. The world will be cast into the clouds of war once more. To defeat the four heads of destruction, the four bearers of light must put aside their differences and join together in harmony. But be weary oh heroes of the light. The Serpent has poisoned that which was meant for light. If the poison is allowed to go uncured the light will fail and darkness will rule."
As the elder came to the end of the prophecy he let out a sigh. "I have always believed that prophecy was nothing but hogwash. When war broke out twenty years ago my belief was put to the test. So many worlds fell to the Empire. I started to worry that perhaps that occurrence with the dragon wasn't just a hallucination. But then the war ended. We received word that the Empire and the Emperor had been defeated and killed in battle. It was easy to seclude ourselves from the rest of the world. Now though... I fear that war is coming, and this time I don't think my people can just sit by while the worlds battle against the darkness."
Crossing his arms Orion stayed silent in thought. The way the elder was speaking it was obvious that he thought was was inevitable. But was it really? What could one man or elf do against the soldiers and heroes of light. Orion highly doubted that one elf could stand against the entire army of the Enchanted Domain. Even if it was more than one person, how could anyone stand against all the combined forces of light?
"But who was Lakari talking too?" Someone asked. Orion looked up, missing who exactly had asked the question. He thought it might have been Aiden but he wasn't sure.
The elder's first response was to shrug. "I don't know. I never found out. He was gone though by that morning. This is the first time I've heard his voice in two hundred years. I will tell you this though. The Lakari that I knew is gone. Whoever that thing is, he is not Lakari. I believe that to the fullest degree. The friend I grew up with is gone."
"Chief elder there is something I would like your opinion on." Orion then proceeded to tell the elder about the dream he had. It had involved the elf and the four heads of the order of the destroyer. From the look on the elder's face, it wasn't good news. His expression continued to grow gradually into a troubled look as Orion's story came to an end. "And now were left wondering just what we should do next. If what happened was real then we probably should go to the Land of Dragons. But it also could have just been a dream."
The elder shook his head. "That doesn't sound like just a dream to me human. That sounds like your heart was whisked away in your sleep and ended up somewhere else. I think you are right. You three should go to the Land of Dragons."
Orion glanced over at Damien and Aiden. Well they had gotten the elder's opinion on the matter. Now they just needed to figure out if they were going to go through with it. "What do you guys think? What should we do?"

(OOC: You did a great job on it. I love it xD)
Damien waited for the Chief Elder to answer his question. Finally, the elderly elf spoke. There was talk about the light and the darkness. There had to be darkness just as much as there had to be light. Without one, nothing could exist properly. There was talk of someone that would rise again, a dark being. This being would spread his hands and much death would follow. The walls between the worlds would break and war would break out again. The four heads of destruction were to be defeated by the four bearers of light. However, those of the light had to put aside their differences at first. Then, something about either someone or something poisoning what was meant for the light. If uncured, the light would fail and the dark would win. Not a very settling thing to hear, that was for sure.
After the Chief Elder finished, he gave out a sigh. He hadn't believed in the prophecy. Just like before, the elder believed that war would break out again. The elder couldn't permit his people to hide and just stand by and watch the worlds battle against the darkness. Damien sat up in his seat then, looking thoughtful. Would a war break out again? He couldn't be sure but if it were enough to worry the elderly elf, there was a chance it could be possible. Damien's gaze shifted from the elder toward Aiden and then Orion. Just what had either of them been thinking?
As for who Lakari was speaking to, the Chief Elder never found out. Who asked, well that was left up for debate. After that, Lakari had left and the elder never saw his friend again. The friend he once had, he claimed, was no longer there. Out of them, it had been Orion to speak. Damien and Aiden looked over at him then as he brought up the subject of his dream. It was something they had considered to investigate once their business here was done and over with. Where it was just a dream, there was a chance something from it could be proven true. The look on the face of the Chief Elder proved that such a dream was troubling.
"Alright, so back to the Land of Dragons it is then..." Damien trailed off, looking over at Aiden then. Just what would they return to? Would things be seemingly normal again? Had something worse happened? Only time would tell but Damien wasn't sure if it would be wise to take Aiden along. After all, the kid's home was there. What if something happened to his family? "I don't care where we go...if you think this is something worth looking into then I won't argue. Better to be safe than sorry."
Aiden got to his feet, rather quickly. He hadn't intended to move that fast, actually. "Whoa! Er...yeah! I'm coming! Can't let the bad guys win, right?" Aiden said, looking from one face to the next. So, it was decided then. Getting to his feet, Damien looked ready to head out now. "Is there anything more you'd like to discuss with us or would it be fine that we head out now?" Damien asked the Chief Elder.

Orion was glad to see that everyone was taking his dream seriously. "There was no way that was just a dream! Especially with what happened here today." He thought to himself. Hearing everyone agreeing and eager to get going had Orion's blood pumping. What would they find at the Land of Dragons? How many days had it been since that dream had occurred? Three? Four? It was pretty easy to loose count with everything happening.
The elder seemed slightly surprised that they were so eager to leave, for he said, "Oh no. By all means do not let me keep you. However it is late, and after a day such as today I would feel awful if I did not at least extend the invitation for you to stay the night. You have all helped my people considerably." Orion wasn't quite sure what exactly he and Aiden had managed to do to help the elves, but he wasn't about to contradict the elder.
The only real person who had helped the elves today had been Damien. If anyone should be thanked it should have been him. But neither Orion or anyone else could read the elder's mind. If they could they might have realized that just providing the elder with the information about what was happening in the world had helped the elder to make his decision.
As for the elder's offer... Well Orion didn't know what to do. He would probably just go with the flow on this one. Taking the rest of the night to sleep in a bed might be a nice change of pace. However did they really have the time to wait? "What do you think we should do Damien?" Orion asked.

Damien hadn't meant the Chief Elder any insult when he had been ready to head out. It was just second nature for him to just up and leave. When the elderly elf had spoken, Damien realized how they must have sounded. It was Aiden, out of them, who apologized. "Er...sorry, sir. It's not that we want to just up and leave. Just that we thought it was that important to look into." In other words, the three of them were reacting out of haste.
As for what the Chief Elder said about all of them, Damien didn't take the credit. Sure, he had helped the Chief Elder but he didn't take the credit. He wasn't sure what Orion or Aiden had done when he hadn't been with them but they probably did something. Now that he thought of it, rushing off as they were now might not do them any good. After all, they had to be tired, right? Running off into a battle or what might be a dangerous mission without much sleep would be foolish. Aiden just looked between the elders in confusion. He was especially confused when Orion had asked Damien what he thought he would do.
Since when did the others look to him on what they should do next? Orion was no longer in the Organization and neither was he. So why was Orion looking to him about what they should do next? Maybe it was just something to take into account? He didn't think his decision would be the deciding factor on what they would do next. Quietly, Damien thought it over. They would need to rest. After what Aiden went through and what Orion had experienced, a rest would do them good. Looking between the other two, Damien then looked back over at Orion. He was the only other one in the room who would qualify as an adult and have the mindset of one. No offense to Aiden but he wasn't mentally mature just yet. Knowing Aiden, he would have them running on their last legs to that world.
"On second thought...I think we should rest. Taking off now as we are might not be such a good idea. We're not sure what we might be facing when we get there. Besides...after what you and Aiden went through, it might be best to rest first." Damien looked then toward the Chief Elder. "If you wouldn't mind, and if your offer still stands, we would like to stay the night." Aiden just looked taken aback. One moment, they were raring to go and the next, they were staying. Aiden was so confused. Before he knew it, the Chief Elder had them sent to where they would stay for the night.
"Why re we staying?" Aiden had asked them curiously. Damien wasn't sure why but it felt as if Aiden had become much more hyper since the change that came over him. If this proved to be true, they were in for more trouble than they already had been when Aiden first joined their group.
"Because, if we went as we are now, we'd be tired. If we were tired, if we ran into trouble, we'd not do as well. It's a good idea to get rest while we can so that we can prepare for the day ahead of us." Aiden gave a huge groan then, falling into step behind the two elder boys. Damien didn't seem to hear him as they were finally taken to where it was they were staying. It wasn't much but it would suffice. Damien didn't care about quality so long as the area served its purpose. "Alright, once we're ready, I suggest we set out as soon as we're able. Any questions?" Aiden raised his hand, and hopped on his feet. "Yes?"
Aiden looked around the area they were in where they were suppose to sleep. "Which room am I sleeping in?" Damien gave a sigh, shaking his head at the teenager. Of all the things, he thought that was the most important thing.
"Whatever room you want. It shouldn't matter." Damien watched as Aiden randomly picked a room and went inside. It took the teenager a total of five minutes just to pick one of the three rooms. Damien glanced over at Orion with a raised eyebrow. No doubt, trying to convey to Orion how ridiculous the kid was being and how annoyed he was with Aiden. No doubt, they had their hands full with Aiden. Regardless, it seemed Aiden had finally settled himself in a room and it was decided then.
"Well...night." Damien started to head for one of the other rooms.

Orion only nodded in response to the decision that was made. As he followed Damien to the sleeping quarters his mind went over all that had happened today. The battle within himself against the poison had been tough. For a while he had his doubts about being able to make it out of this world alive. The poison had spread so rapidly throughout his system. But where had it come from? How had he come in contact with it in the first place? Was it something he ate in the Land of Dragons? Was it because of the armor? With no memory about that drunken night, Orion was clueless. He hadn't really had much time to give it any thought either.
Then there was the battle that had taken place today. For a while there Orion was afraid that they might not be able to help Aiden. That made him angry. To think that Lakari would do something to a person just for some prophecy! It was enough to make him want to capture the elf just for being so stupid!
As they made it to the sleeping quarters, Orion watched Aiden's decision making ordeal with content. It was good to see the kid back to his normal self... Watching him go from one room and back into a room he had just been in to reconsider it Orion thought, "Perhaps a bit more... energetic than his normal self." Was that because of the changes he had gone through? There was no way to know for sure, but Orion assumed that it was.
After Aiden finally chose a room and Damien said goodnight, Orion headed back to the only remaining room left. Opening the closed door and entering Orion was shocked by what awaited for him inside. It was obviously a childs room, given that there was a childs side bed, dresser, and scribbled drawings along the wall.
Spotting the pink bed cover, the white painted drawers, a doll house in the corner, Orion wondered just how he had gotten stuck with the kids room. And a girls one at that! Sighing, Orion shut the door behind him. "No wonder Aiden didn't pick this room." He thought to himself.
Walking over to the bed, Orion took a seat on it. The mattress was comfortable enough at least. Though Orion was a bit tall for this size of a bed. "Probably won't be getting that much sleep tonight." Orion figured. Glancing over at the nightstand next to the bed, his eyes rested on a small black book.
Curious, Orion picked it up. The book seemed to thin to be a novel or story book. Additionally there was no title or words on the front, back, or side of the book. Opening the front page, Orion realized that he was holding a stationary notebook. The front page read, "Halt! This diary belongs to Amber Firyn! If you are not Amber Firyn than I highly warn you that turning the next page will cause a magic spell that will shoot ink at you! So don't even think of reading my diary Alvi!" At the bottom of the page Amber Firyn was scribbled in cursive.
"Well I don't want to incur the wrath of this Amber person." Orion thought as he shut the book. Placing it back on the nightstand, Orion quickly pulled out of his clothes and then proceeded to lay his head down. It was only a matter of moments before he fell asleep. When he woke up he would be all ready to get on his way.
----------------------------
He was now complete. Lakari could feel the thirteen vessels that sat in the chairs around him. They were all cloaked from head to toe with their hoods pulled up. They did not move, simply breathed. At any moment Lakari knew he could simply shift from this body to one of the vessels and command the body.
With these vessels he didn't need to worry about death. This was the reason that he was not afraid of the dark god. Even if the dark god somehow managed to kill him he would simply shift to a different vessel. And so long as some of his body still existed it could always be resurrected with necromancy.
This was how Lakari had managed to live time after time. Lakari had never died, even when they thought that he had. Six hundred years ago when he had battled against Rowan he had used that said same technique to transfer his heart. Then it was a simple matter of finding a necromancer to bring his body back to life.
"I love how you give me no credit when without me you wouldn't be able to do half of the things that you can." A voice said in his mind. Lakari was infuriated to hear it.
"You are not allowed to speak! So long as my heart lives I remain in control as was our agreement!" Lakari spoke aloud.
A maniacal laughter sounded in his mind. "Your days are numbered elf. Our agreement was six hundred and sixty six years. As thanks for saving me and bringing my body back to health I saved your heart. But when that day passes our agreement is at an end. I hope your ready to join the voices? They're excited to have you join them! You better hurry Lakari! The clock is ticking. Can't you hear it? Tick! Tick! Tick!"
Lakari shut the voice from his mind! How dare he talk to him! This had been the second time in the last two hundred years that he had heard the creature. The first had been the day his body had been killed by Red Wilder the III at the end of the war. "I won't make that mistake again. I'll make sure I keep one of the vessels here instead of bringing them all to the battle field." That was what had cost him the war last time.
Still what the creature had said did worry him. His time was running out! And he still hadn't figured out a way to save his heart. "You fool! There is no saving your heart. It is already ours! OURS! OURS! OURS!" The laughter of the single presence was suddenly joined by the laughter of thousands of other voices. Lakari could feel them all in his mind. They pulled at his heart, trying to drag them into a pool of madness.
"No! I will not succumb to you!" Lakari screamed.
Slowly the voices drifted away. "Thirty days Lakari! Thirty dayssssss!" There was a hiss that accompanied the last "s" in days. Slowly though the hiss drifted off until Lakari's mind was silent once more. He had thirty days. Thirty days to save his heart and start, wage, and win a war.
