Aiden had pulled a fast one on the older boys. He took one look at the kid's room and zipped back out. Damien and Orion were none the wiser. Smiling to himself, Aiden took one of the see seemingly adult rooms. He was also careful to lock the door behind him. Aiden didn't realize that Damien could just portal through if he wanted to. It was a detail that was usually overlooked because Damien didn't use these abilities on him for a while. Boy, was he going to be surprised depending on how upset Orion was with Aiden pulling that fast one once morning came!
As Damien stepped into the bedroom that he had randomly picked, he wasn't aware of the problem that Orion had. He did, however, raise an eyebrow at what looked like an old person's room. Aiden was always reminding them that he wasn't a kid but apparently he wouldn't take an old person's room either. Shaking his head at the thought, Damien went toward the bed. Removing his cloak and armor, Damien settled down on it almost restlessly. What would he do if something terrible had happened when they got back? Damien couldn't live with himself if something worse happened. Reme and Bradley...the orphans...he didn't want anything to happen to them. He also hoped that, even though Aiden claimed he had run away from home because of an incompetent family, nothing happened to them either for Aiden's sake. While Orion was also possibly having a sleepless night, Damien drifted off into a fitful sleep. He had repetitive nightmares that kept getting worse and worse as the hours slipped by in the waking world. All of them had contained Ivan trying to kill them. The final one had really unsettled Damien. It seemed so real. He thought that he had finally woken up but when he went to check on the other rooms, he found them each dead in their beds. Ivan appearing and stabbing him through the back Damien woke with a start. Realizing it was just a dream, Damien gave a sigh of relief. Tentatively, he headed out to make sure as he knocked on Orion's door first.
"Orion? It's me!" Damien called, knocking on the door and waiting for the other male to answer it.

Smoke... There was smoke everywhere! It was so heavy that Orion couldn't see past three feet! Covering his mouth and nose with his hand, Orion knew that he couldn't stay here. He could barely even breathe in this mess! Vaguely he heard the sounds of screams coming from around him.
What was happening? Where was he? All these questions and more filled his mind. 'There must be a fire somewhere!' Orion could feel the heat intensifying as he moved forward. That was the only conclusion he could think of!
Orion came to a sudden halt when a screaming woman ran towards him. The poor woman was on fire! Orion jumped out of the way instinctively as the woman ran passed. Her screaming sent a chill up his spine as he broke out of the roll he had done to get out of the way.
Bringing his hand back up to cover his mouth, Orion didn't have time to think about that woman. He had to get out of this! Continuing onward, Orion headed towards a shouting voice. As he came closer he could make out the words being said. "Rekka! Bartimaeus! Anybody! Help me!"
Moving slightly more west Orion headed towards that voice! Feeling the rush of adrenaline and the sense of urgency, Orion broke out of the thick portion of smoke. The vapor still hung to the air, but not nearly as thick as before. A gray haze tinted his vision, but he could see much farther now.
Orion spotted the owner of the voice! It was a woman dressed in brown padded armor. She lay on the ground with the lower half of her body trapped in the heap of what was once a tall standing wooden house.
Arms pumping Orion rushed in her direction. 'Orion? It's me!' A voice said in Orion's head, which greatly confused the young man. It was followed by the sound of knocking as well. Trying to ignore it, Orion pumped his legs harder. But there was nothing Orion could do! It was as if he was running backwards! The woman grew farther and farther away instead of getting closer!
'No! I have to help her!'
With a start Orion sat up in his bed shouting, "No!" at the top of his lungs. It was surely enough to waken almost anyone in the household if they were not already.

Damien didn't expect to get the kind of response that he did. In fact, the sudden yell made him tear open a portal as he summoned his sword to his side. Upon entry into the room Orion had been sleeping in for the night, he had found...nothing. Damien, confusedly, looked around as he found himself looking back over at Orion. He had sounded as if he had been under attack just now. Yet, there appeared to be no enemy. Blinking, Damien lowered his sword and looked back over at an obviously frightened looking Orion.
"Um...you...alright?" Damien questioned him slowly. The look of the room hadn't quite registered just yet since he was focused on Orion. Aiden, whom had been sleeping, woke from his sleep with a start and had scurried out half dressed. The only hint that he had found out was when Aiden opened the door and looked over at Damien with a lowered sword and Orion. Had Damien tried to attack him? Aiden frowned between them then.
"Look, I know you guys hate each other but this is ridiculous!" Aiden stated. Damien, turned to look over at Aiden with a shake of his head before dismissing his weapon.
"I wasn't trying to kill Orion. He screamed so I thought he was under attack...and found him like this..." Damien trailed off as he looked back over at Orion. Just what had overcome him? A bad dream? Damien could understand bad dreams. He had far too many last night.
"Have a nightmare, Orion?" Aiden questioned Orion then.

Orion's sense of urgency didn't stop when he awoke. Screaming no at the top of his lungs combined with the sudden appearance of Damien with a sword in his hand made him jump right out of his bed. Where was the girl? Where was the smoke?
Once again Orion had been plagued by a lifelike dream. Though this one was more of a nightmare than a dream. Seeing Damien lower his sword and question his well being Orion slowly nodded. He supposed he was alright. There was no smoke or fire or trapped girl here. Just the room he had fallen asleep in.
"These nightmares are ridiculous!" He thought to himself. Seeing Aiden come in a moment later, Orion returned to sitting on the bed.
What Aiden said broke the tension that had been building in Orion's shoulders. Nope Damien wasn't here to stab him in the night. Surprisingly the young man was actually worried about Orion. "Oh no he didn't..." Orion started before he was cut off by Damien's comment back at Aiden.
"Something like that. This is strange. I'm not used to nightmares and dreams. I never use to have them while growing up. Now all of a sudden I'm dreaming all the time." Orion responded. Growing up Orion could count on one hand the amount of dreams that he remembered having. Having two in a week was an entirely new experience for him!
Yawning, Orion wondered what time it was. It had to be near dawn. There was no way to tell in this place though. Orion had found no windows in the tree fashioned to be a home.
"Anyone know what time it is?" Orion was uncertain about returning to slumber. He didn't want another dream or nightmare. Two in one week were enough. Perhaps if they were all up to it they could even get on their way and head to the Land of Dragons. An early start might do them some good. At least Orion thought so anyway.

Damien was greatly puzzled by Orion's actions. Maybe it was just a bad dream? It was the only thing that Damien could think of. It made him feel ridiculous coming into the room the way that he did if that were the case. He couldn't blame his reaction, however. They could be attacked at any moment for all they knew. So, it was still somewhat a good thing to go rushing into a room if someone heard the other screaming like that. It was a relief in itself that no one was in any real danger right now.
When Orion answered Aiden's question, it was clear now that it had all been a nightmare of Orion's. Whether or not it was something to be worried about was another matter entirely. "Ah, so you think you're having dreams that come true?" Aiden stated. Damien looked side long at Aiden then before bringing his gaze back onto Orion. If that were the case then the situation was troubling. It would be unwise to not take heed. "Well, hopefully this isn't one that will come true and was just a bad dream." Damien nodded in agreement to that one.
It didn't take long for Orion to question what time it was. "Time for us to head out," Damien had answered him.
"And definitely time for you to put your clothes back on!" Aiden added with an obvious snicker. It was only then that Damien had realized that Orion had been in nothing but his birthday suit. Well, that was certainly embarrassing. Shaking his head with a sigh, Damien grabbed Aiden by the ear as the pair of them left Orion's room so that he could put his clothes back on, Damien shutting the door behind them as they went. Patiently, the pair of them waited outside of the room for Orion. Once he was outside, they would head out of the building, most likely running into an elf that would probably bring them to the home of the Chief Elder one last time.

Orion surely hoped that his dreams weren't a premonition of the future. Only time would tell though. Sighing, Orion stood letting the whole world see his mighty jewels. Aiden was nice to point out that Orion was completely in the buff. Feeling slightly embarrassed, Orion's eyes flickered to the left as he awkwardly sat back down and crossed his legs.
After Damien and Aiden took there leave of the room, Orion went ahead and pulled his clothes back on. He joined them in the living room once he gathered all his belongings. It was finally time to get out of this world. "I'm slowly starting to change." Orion realized. His personality was slowly starting to shine now that the whole poison deal was done with. He felt a bit happier, and there was even a bit of a kick in his step.
"Ready!" Orion told his two companions as they headed out of the home. As they made their way over to the chief elder's house they found Ava and Natalia waiting for them at the front of the house.
"The elder wishes me to give you his regrets that he cannot see you off. He was pulled away earlier this morning to deal with some business. He did however want me to express his thanks to you three once more. Additionally he has prepared something for each of you as well as a request." Ava told them.
Natalia turned around and headed inside. She returned a short moment later with three small rectangle boxes, each about a foot long, a foot wide, and six inches in depth. Natalia approached them. Opening the first box she glanced inside before handing it over to Aiden.
Inside the box she handed Aiden was a simple silver ring. If Aiden were to put it on it would fit his finger perfectly. "The elder wished for you to have that ring. I don't know exactly what it does, but supposedly it belonged to a dragon when dragons really did roam the worlds. The elder said that it would bring good luck to you." Ava informed him.
Next Natalia opened the next box. Inside was a golden bracelet. Natalia's eyes widened in shock when she spotted the golden bracelet. Ava stepped forward, took the bracelet out of the box and handed it to Damien. "The elder wanted to give you this as thank you for helping him yesterday. This bracelet dates back to the times before we settled in the forest. It was worn by the warrior elves of various tribes. It will increase the strength of anyone who wears it."
Finally Natalia opened the last box. Inside were a pair of earrings with two strange looking pendents attached to them. Next to each other both formed a perfect circle with half of it being white and the other half being black. Orion recognized it as the symbol for yin and yang. Though he was mighty confused when Ava picked them up and stood next to him.
"I don't wear earrings..." He thought. Why on earth would these be for him?
"The elder wished for you to have these. I'm not exactly sure what they do. He told me to say this though, 'When your lost and forgotten put these on.'"
Trying his best not to roll his eyes at the cryptic message, Orion forced a smile and placed them in his pocket. "Everyone else gets cool items and I'm stuck with something I can't even use!"
With the elder's items handed out, there was one last thing for Ava to say. "Finally the elder wished for me to ask this of you three. Out there is a human by the name of Amber Firyn. If you ever meet her on your travels please give her this letter. It is from her mother." Ava held out the letter for Damien to take.
"Thank you for your hospitality. And thank the elder for me as well." Orion said. After nods of goodbye and promises that they would return some day Orion turned to Aiden and Damien.
"Back to the Land of the Dragons. I hope things are better than when we left." As soon as Damien opened a portal he'd follow Damien and Aiden out of this world for good hopefully.

Damien had ignored Aiden's protests when he had grabbed him by the ear and pulled him out of the room. When they got outside, Damien gave Aiden a bit of a firm look. It were as if he were conveying to the boy to not cross him. He wasn't in the mood for the teenager's antics right now. Thankfully, during the time that it took for Orion to pull his clothes back on, Aiden seemed to get the hint since it had been quiet until Orion came back out of the room. Orion, oddly enough, seemed rather chipper. No doubt, he must have felt better no longer poisoned and burdened with the thought of death on his shoulders.
"Alright, let's head out."
Just as they had left they had made their way to the Chief Elder's home. When they got there, the three of them were met with Natalia and Ava. It was Ava who spoke to them first. In place of the Chief Elder, they were to give them the elder's regret of not seeing them off. However, the Chief Elder had wished to give them his thanks again and prepared something for each of them, including a request. Aiden's eyebrows rose as he spoke.
"Okay!"
Once again, the teenager was volunteering them again. Damien didn't object though. If he could make things right as he went out of habit, then he would in hopes that he could turn over a new leaf. He was trying, of course. After all, he wasn't inherently evil. Just someone who had been raised under the wrong side. Natalia, as Ava was speaking to them, had turned to head inside. When she returned, she was carrying three individual boxes. As Natalia approached them, it was Aiden she went up to first. Opening one of the boxes, she took out what looked to be a silver ring. Aiden looked at it curiously as she handed it to him and spoke. The ring had belonged to a dragon when dragons once roamed the worlds. It wasn't certain what the ring did but it was said to bring him good luck.
"Wow, really? Thanks!" Aiden replied before Natalia moved down along the line to Damien next. As Natalia went over to Damien, Aiden had put the silver ring on his right ring finger. It certainly did fit perfectly. Even now, it were as if Aiden could feel something linked with the ring but he couldn't understand why. It felt familiar for some strange reason. It were as if the dragon's blood in him were reacting to it. Of course, Aiden wouldn't know any of this since he wasn't aware of the change that Gaia had done to him outside of the strange appearance it had given him or the seemingly increased flexibility and agility.
Damien watched in puzzlement as Natalia opened the next box. The look on her eyes made him wonder before Ava came over taking the bracelet and handing it to Damien. As he gently took it from Ava, he looked back up at Ava when she spoke. The Chief Elder had wanted to thank him for helping him yesterday and in doing so, he had given Damien this bracelet that was said to increase the strength of its wearer. It was worn by various warrior elves back in the day.
"I...thank you." Damien was too mystified by such a gift. He didn't feel that he deserved such a thing. He had only done what anyone should have done in his position. Still, it was rude to not accept a gift someone was giving to you. So, he had placed it around his right wrist. There certainly was a strength that Damien had suddenly felt. Definitely not something to be abused, that was for sure.
Then, the final box was brought over to Orion. Aiden and Damien both looked over and watched as Natalia opened the box. Ava took out what looked to be earrings with the Yin and Yang symbol on them. As Ava spoke, Aiden furrowed his brows and looked over at Damien questioningly. Damien didn't glance in the teenager's way but could feel the youth's gaze on him. Just like Aiden, Damien wasn't sure why Orion was given earrings of that nature. Maybe it was something that the Chief Elder foresaw that neither of them could until it happened later?
Damien's attention was returned to Ava when she spoke of the request that the Chief Elder had. He had wished for them to give a letter to a human by the name of Amber Firyn. The letter was from her mother and he'd like it if they gave the letter to her if they ever came across her. Ava had handed the letter to Damien. He wasn't sure why the elf had handed it to him but he took it anyway. Damien gave a nod of understanding. He wouldn't try to open it or anything.
"If we see her then we will. Thank you for your help with Orion and your hospitality toward us. It was greatly appreciated. Thank the Chief Elder for us."
Aiden gave a nod at what Orion and Damien said. "Yeah! Thank you a lot! Thanks to you too, Natalia!" Aiden had thanked the younger looking elf. He was referring to her prayer to Gaia and what the prayer had done. It was a sign that he was accepting of what happened. Now, after giving promises of return at one point to visit, the three of them headed away from the Chief Elder's home. Now, it was just the three of them like it had been from the start. It was Orion that spoke first. Damien said nothing in response. He dreaded what he might find when they returned.
"Yeah, I hope everything's still okay..." Aiden trailed off. Damien extended a hand and tore open a portal. Wordlessly, he nodded to each of them before stepping into the portal. Aiden followed suite and then Orion most likely. Now that they had all stepped through the portal, they would find themselves in Land of Dragons.
