The others were making their way across the river, although they were a lot slowly than David was getting across. That was for all of them besides Seamus. He was timing when the lava was coming up. After it went down he would teleport as far as he could to the next few platforms. After reapeating for two more times he made it to the door. The guardian already went under the door when he got there. The heat was getting to him, his armor making him hotter than most of the others.
When the others finally made it across he ooened the door. This was the last floor. They were now in an all white room, it was similar to the cave they fought the dragon in. The room started changing into something completely different. It turned into the first village they went to, then the courtyard that was behind the castle. It then turned into the city of the dead, spirits and all including the golem. When the golem saw them it's arms starting spinning again. It apeared right in front of David about to swing at his face when the room changed again. The golem disappeared when the room changed.
The room was now the cloud floor of the tower. The Guardian was on a cloud in the center. It was holding shurikens like Seamus uses. They started sparking with lighting. It threw them at them but it did not hit them. It went right past them. On the cloud behind them was the golem again. They hit it and it's arms started spinning again. It was now covered in a lighting aura again. The shurikens returned to the Guardian.

David quickly followed Seamus through the door into the blank room. Once it finished changing, the guardian was revealed in the center. The creature launched its shurikens, but David could already tell they weren't going to hit them. Then he noticed what they WERE going to hit, right after they did. "AW HELL NO! I'll take care of big ugly, y'all focus on the other one."
Within a second he was back in his Aspect form ready to do battle once more. He disappeared again as he moved to the golem, only to slice into the thing's leg just above the knee. He instantly put a few feet's distance between them, and swung his Twilight-forged blade down. "Twilit Sickle!" A sickle shaped blast of pure Twilight erupted from the edge, quickly expanding to match the golem's height, and covered the distance in under two seconds. The damage was purely based of of the target's aura, which the golem didn't have much of. David expected the attack to easily cut the thing in two again.

Then the shurikens powered the golem up it seemed they were going to relive hell again. But there was no need to fear, aspect David was here! He transformed again and went off to fight the golem, leaving the others to deal with the Guardian. There were three rows of clouds that led to the Guardian. The three of them looked at each other and a plan was formed in an instant.
Seamus and Kai went on the row in the middle, while Zero took the left. Seamus leaped kff the cloud and was heading towards the Guardian from above. Their shurikens clashed, leaving them both at a standstill. Soon Seamus kicked the Guardian and front flipped over it. With that opening Kai came at it. He actived his fie charge before hitting it on its side. After that Kai jumoed to the cloud beside it, getting out of the way of the shurikens.
Kai's fire charge had left the Guardian burned. Soon a fire erupted and it was damaged by it. That's when Zero came in for the third strike. He jumped onto the platform and slashed the Guardian's side. The Guardian counterattacked with its shuriken going into Zero's leg. That's when one of Seamus's shurikens cut the Guardian's arm almost off. Clearly this battle was going a bit better than their last battle.
When its leg was slashed the golem turned around to where David was going. That's when David launched hus twili sickle. The sickle went straight through the golem, splitting it in half. The two parts fell on the cloud, bits of it falling off. When it seemed over something happened. The two halves started regenerating. Soon two Golems were formed. They both stood back up, facing David.
Then something else unexpected happened. Something flew right over David's head. It had hit one of the golems, nearly knocking it off balance. It then flipped onto the cloud David was on. It was Elizabeth who's aura seemed to be clamer than before. She growled at the golems. She slowly inched forward, about to strike. She then leaped off the cloud and slashed one of the golems with her claws. It's head came off and fell off the cloud, falling down to the ground that could not be seen. As it tried to regenerate it's head Elizabeth knocked the thing over with her tail, knocking it off the cloud. It grapped her by her tail and tried to take her down with her. By she was quick, she held on to the cloud using her claws. The golem's aphand slipped and it fell to the ground. After quite some time there was a loud crash sound from below. Elizabeth slowly pulled herself up back onto the platform.

David growled as he saw the golem's halves regenerating. Apparently, this one was tougher than the last. Still, nothing could have prepared him for what he saw next. Namely, Elizabeth launching herself at one of the beasts, ripped its head off and kicked the rest off of the cloud. It was a close thing though, which snapped him out of the shock he was currently in.
David glared at the remaining golem, then vanished from sight once more. He reappeared directly in front of the beast, all of his considerable momentum focused into a single punch to its chest. The golem would easily be sent flying from the impact, while David landed and made sure Elizabeth was safe. Once he was certain, he called over to the others. "Hey, y'all need me over there?"

When David disappeared the golem was getting ready ti attack Elizabeth, who was ready to counterattack. Then he reappeared right in front of the golem. When he ounched it's chest it was sent flying off the cloud, and then it fell just like the other one. Elizabeth looked over the edge of the cloud, watching the golem fall to its death. She then looked back at David, her eyes stopped glowing.
When David asked did the others needed help it looked like they did. The Guardian had knocked Zero off the cloud. Kai had caught his arm just in time, and was struggling to lift him back up. Meanwhile Seamus was keeping the thing away from them. It seemed the Guardian was stronger than him, nearly pushing him off the cloud. It seemed there was only one way out of this, Seamus knew what he had to do. He was covered in a dark aura, his aura was changing as well. When the aura faded Seamus had transformed into his dark form. His hair was now black and red and his eyes were red. His aura had completely changed, now very dark.
Seamus kicked the thing back and got ready to end it. He shot an orb of darkness above them. Soon it rained down twenty smaller dark orbs. It did not hit the Guardian, instead4 it hit the cloud. Before the cloud was destroyed he kicked off the Guardian, jumping onto another cloud. When the Guardian fell the key came out of it, and Seamus caught it. Soon Kai pulled Zero back up and Seamus turned back to normal. " We're good over here!" He called back to David.

David watched the remainder of the other fight, then reversed his Aspect. "Great job guys! That leaves just one key!" His euphoria was shattered when he realized that one fight still wasn't over. His eyes widened as he looked back to the entrance of that level. "Crap, we forgot about Riley!"
With the tower masking everything, David couldn't even tell whether they were done fighting, let alone how they were doing. He concentrated for a few moments, then another Corridor appeared next to him. "I kept the original up, so I don't know how stable this one will be." Without heeding his own advice, he jumped through...
And landed face first on the floor. Apparently, he had managed to screw up the orientation of the landing portal, so it was facing down. He braced himself under it, planning to catch the next one through and having them help catch the rest. Behind him the original Corridor still swirled ominously.

With the key Seamus had, that left only one key left, the one in the wasteland. Things were going well for them, every problem they faced was soon resolved. When Seamus defeated the Guardian he felt different, like there was more to that battle. The Guardian took the shape of his dark form, and didn't transform like the others. He felt like he had just defeated his darkness, with his darkness. His aura was a bit lighter.
With the Guardian gone that only left one thing; Riley's battle with the other keyblader. Hopefully Riley had won, or was winning. David had opened up a new corridor and went in it. Soon the others went in after him aftering jumping from cloud to cloud. The first one to get through was Elizabeth, she was worried abiut Riley the most. When she landed on David she quickly rolled off if him. She was waiting in front of the door again. She then looked at the original corridor, not liking the ominous feeling. Next came Kai, then Zero then finally Seamus. They looked at where they landed and saw that David had the corridor facing down.
After the others had gotten through Elizabeth slashed through the door. She than ran into the floor. The place was a mess. There were craters everywhere and different marks on the ground from attacks. Slash marks and blood covered most of the floor. In the middle of the room was Riley, who was back to normal. He was covered in blood, though soon of it wasn't his. His aura felt normal as well. With blood running down his face he looked at the others, he was obviously tired. Elizabeth ran to him and he picked her up. There was no sign of the other keyblader.
" Riley, what happened?" Seamus asked.
" She got the best of me," he told them. " She is an experienced keyblader, she could make her keyblades transform. I never saw anything like it. But luckily with me in the form I gave her hell. Her blood tasted good when I was like that, all blood does. But I changed back to normal towards the end of the fight. She got away, if I stayed like that for just a bit longer...."

David quickly moved closer to Riley. "If you had stayed like that longer, you might have won, but at what cost? You obviously don't like how you think or act in that form, so the memory probably would have haunted you for awhile." He glanced around at the destruction and blood, then shook his head. "Enough about that though. We got the key, so we need to get out of here now."
Unfortunately, flicking his wrist did nothing this time. Puzzled, he tried it again, but still no Corridor appeared. He rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment. "I guess I need to recharge a little while before I can do that again. Looks like we're gonna have to walk out of here."

When David asked him at what cost would he have won the battle Riley sighed. " I guess you're right," he said. " I just wished she didn't get away. Now the prince still has a chance to get the last key, if that happens then it will be a very bad day." Since they had the key they now had to get to the wasteland. David tried to open a corridor, but no matter how hard he tried he couldn't. " Looks like we're walking."
" Oh joy," Seamus said sarcastically. It was many floors until they reached the ground again. Pasted all the tricks and turns and ice. When they finally got outside they could see that the aura around the tower was gone. " Guess the key was the source of its power," Seamus said. " Just like the keys seem to power the Guardians."
When Seamus said that Zero thought about something. " Hang on Seamus I think you're on to something there," he said. He was remembering all the guardians they fought. " It seems like all of them had the key inside them, even the one from the prison. Do you think the keys give off some sort of power when they are absorbed? Or are they apart of something bigger? That reminds me, the beast from the prison is still on the loose! Where do you think it went?"

David followed the others out of the tower, then groaned silently at the absence of the aura. Now he wouldn't even be able to recharge a bit. Still, they were pretty far from the wasteland, so hopefully he could get some energy back along the way. He paid particular attention to Seamus' and Zero's discussion though. It reminded him of something Yuffie had mentioned before.
"So these keys are like Materia then?" He paused for a moment, then realized they probably had no clue what he was talking about. "Materia are gem-like spheres that can be put into things like weapons and armor. When equipped, they can give the user magic-like abilities or simply strengthen existing ones." He then turned to Zero. "Also, chances are that the thing from the prison is either waiting for us in the wasteland or the floating city. I seriously doubt we've seen the last of it."

When David explained what meteria was Zero scratched his head. " Well it sounds like they act the same way," he said. Then he thought about how the keys first appeared. " The keys seemed to give them power on contact. You Seamus and Riley have been holding onto the keys for some time now, and it doesn't seem to be reacting with you. Maybe they only react with the guardians, since they were made to protect them."
Riley laughed when David said the beast was waiting for them. " From what has already happened, you might be right." He said. The things that got away always turned up towards the end. " Then again the keyblader and the prince are probably heading to one of those places. Not to mention the horseman and whatever else I might be forgetting. Even if they beat us there, which is likely, we still have all the other keys." He pointed to where he was keeping the ones he had. " I don't know about you, but I'm not letting them anywhere near the ones I have."

David laughed at Riley's comments. "Yeah, with your speed I doubt they'll be able to catch you." He then looked back over at Zero again. "Well, the Materia only work when they're put in special slots, but you're most likely right. It would make sense for the keys to give their protectors power boosts."
He was silent for a little while as he though about the keys some more. He then brightened a bit as he got another idea. "Maybe the keys combine into something when they are all together. That would explain why there's so many, other than making it hard to get them all."

" Well when all the keys come together the gateway is suppose to open," Kai said. " Maybe they transform to something, or maybe they were once one thing but then they got split up. Which reminds me, I don't remember anything telling us where this gateway is. The city is up in the clouds, so the gateway could be anywhere." Kai didn't like the idea of having to look for the gateway. He had a feeling that's what it had to happen though.
Soon they came to the tree David had marked. There was only one way to go, pasted the valley, into the very center of the country. That's where the wasteland was, and the very kast key. " If you ask me we won't have to worry about that Kai," Riley said. " When the keys come together the gateway opens right? I think they will also led us to the gateway after it opens somehow." He pointed pasted the valley. " That's where we go for now. Dead center of this country. I have a feelings whatever is waiting for us is going to prove to be a challenge. "

David nodded in response to Kai's thoughts. The gateway really COULD be anywhere, especially if it was some sort of portal. From what he had seen here though, it was more likely that the gateway would carry them to the city. There hadn't been any portals besides the ones he made.
"I agree with both of you, actually. I do think that the gateway will be somewhere north of here though. The closer it is to the actual city, the less magic it need to get us there. Speaking of which..." He closed his eyes and turned his focus inward for a moment, then opened them again. "I've recovered enough to use my normal abilities, but I've only got about half the energy I need to use my Aspect right now. Unless we find something I can use as a battery like that aura before, I doubt I'll be able to use it before the next fight."

When David said the gateway was probably north Kai thought about the painting they saw some time ago. It did show the city in the sky to be north of everything else. The castle they went to was very south, and they always came back to the very middle after getting a key. It couldn't be as far as the castle was, that would be too much walking. Where ever it was, they would find it. There was no doubt about that.
" Well we might not need aspect fkr the next fight," Riley said. " We do still have our secret weapon, Elizabeth." Hours later they found the wasteland. It lived up to the name that was for sure. There was sand all around. Remains of what could have been a great town were sticking out of the sand. There were no plants or any other sign of life in the area. There was only one other thing, footprints in the sand. They seemed to be heading towards the center of the wasteland up north. From where they were, it seemed like there was a gaint sinkhole in the middle of the wasteland.

David glanced over at the young Elizabeth as Riley mentioned her. "That's true. She actually managed to take out one of the golems during the last fight. She might actually be stronger than any of us in our base states." It puzzled him that someone so young could be so powerful. Then again, she did mention that she was genetically engineered, so it was entirely possible she was created for that purpose.
David groaned once they reached the wasteland. "This is a desert, not a wasteland! Man, I'm gonna have sand EVERYWHERE..." Still grumbling inaudibly, he started searching the area. It didn't take long for him to notice the massive sinkhole and the footprints leading to it. There was literally almost nothing else to see. "Hey, who else wants to go find out what made the big hole over there? Well, I don't think any of us really want to, but I bet that's where the key is."

It seemed that there was only one place to go, the sink hole. " Well everyone is down in the dumps at one point or another," Seamus said. " Guess it's our turn." He looked into the hole. Nothing could be seen, not even a ladder. Knowing this world, there was something at the bottom. " Well here goes nothing!" He was about to jump in when he stopped. He looked at Riley. " Ladies first."
" He has a point." Kai said.
" We can't fotrget our manners now." Zero said.
Riley rolled his eyes. " Oh sure NOW you all want to treat me like a girl!"
" Well look at it this way Riley," Seamus said. " You always survive falling out of the sky and hitting the ground face first. This is safe compared to what you do."
" Whatever," Riley sighed. He put Elizabeth down and winked at her. He slowly got to the edge of the hole and looked down. " Hey what's that down there?!" He yelled. The others looked over the edge. Riley's hands started glowing with a blue aura, and so did Kai Zero and Seamus. He used his telekinesis to put them over the hole and dropped them. After some time there was a loud crash sound followed by moans of pain.
" Well looks like they hit rock bottom," Riley laughed and looked at David. " We should go after them." He picked up Elizabeth and put her on his shoulders. Wings then came out of Elizabeth's back. Riley jumped and Elizabeth used her wings to make them glide down. It was some time before they came to the ground. The sinkhole led them to a tunnel of some kind. Kai, Zero and Seamus were in a pile on the ground, in pain but still alive. Riley gently landed on the ground and Elizabeth's wings went back into her body.

David nearly fell over laughing as Riley tossed the other three into the hole. Their antics reminded him of his childhood on Celderat, alongside his sister and best friend. There was always some kind of trouble for them to get into, even back when David couldn't use any powers. He finally stopped just after Riley and Elizabeth started their decent.
David looked down into the hole, but couldn't see the bottom at all. Still, if Zero, Kai, and Seamus survived the fall it shouldn't be too deep, probably not even a thirty foot drop. At first, he was planning on sliding down using his keyblade, but then he got an even better idea. Better still, it was guaranteed to annoy the others. He focused on Seamus' heart, since it was the easiest for him to sense, and created a Corridor right next to him. As he walked out at the bottom of the hole, he chuckled again. "If you wanted to get down here, all you had to do was ask, you know."

When David appeared next to Seamus Riley laughed. It seemed they all forgot that he could use corridors. " Well at least we have a way out of here," he giggled. " I was thinking of launching you guys up with my telekinesis, but if David wants to do it the unfun way fine." The tunnel they were in went two ways, and they were in the center of it. Riley looked at Elizabeth. " Do you think you can sense any auras here? If there are any they are most likely going towards the stone."
Elizabeth nodded. Her eyes started glowing as she looked down the tunnel. After a while she pointed down one of the ways. " There's a lot of auras that way." She said. She then pointed the other way. " There's also a strong one that's coming this way. The keyblader that fought daddy is down with the others. She seems hurt, but she is recovering."
Seamus groaned when David appeared next to him. " Now you remind us!" He sighed. He then looked the ways Elizabeth was pointing to. " If the keyblader is down that way she must be heading for the stone. If there are others they are most likely working for the prince as she is. As for the other aura is could be anything at this point."

David glanced in both directions as Elizabeth pointed. Sure enough, there were several one way and one powerful one the other. But he could only barely sense the smaller ones, let alone identify one as the keyblade wielder. Somehow she was even more talented than he was, and he'd been using auras for six years!
He shook his head and refocused on the situation. "I'm not too sure the keyblader is going the right way." He pointed down the path leading to the one strong aura. "If we're right about the keys powering up the guardians, then the guardian should have the most powerful aura here."
