Lara glanced back over to Rekka when she issued her question to Bartimaeus. That was a good question. The bard seemed to know a lot about things. Just where did he learn all of this? In answer to her direct question, Bartimaeus replied. "Around the camp fire on the first day I met you Rekka. The way the fire leaned towards you that night, it was clear that you were interacting with the fire. Perhaps not even to your knowledge."
"The Theory of Element Interaction." Infusca added to Bartimaeus's explanation.
Lara just sort of blinked. She had no clue as to what this theory of element interaction was. "According to the theory of element interaction when a person is around an element in its purest form that element will interact with them. It was a theory purposed by the greatest wizard alive. To not only know that... but to be able to witness it in practice..." The necromancer's eyes fell on Bartimaeus. Her eyes were really studying him now.
Even Lara glanced over to him. Bartimaeus didn't say anything. He simply blinked and looked on with a confused expression. "Why is everyone looking at me?" He asked.
Lara sighed. Bartimaeus had his secrets it seemed. But most likely they all did. "Nothing Bartimaeus. Miss Infusca. We were sent here by accident from my home world, Cornelia. Is there anyway you can open a portal back to the world?"
Infusca turned to Lara. "Sorry Lara, but I do not have the magic to open portals. Your best bet would be to buy a portal box in the Enchanted Domain. Or catch a ride on a gummi ship there. Currently though the way to the Enchanted Domain is blocked. The king of the Enchanted Domain is not a friend of necromancers. Heck the entire universe has outlawed necromancy. The only reason I remain alive is because of a magic that was put here by mother and some of her....friends. I can release that magic, but I could never recreate it. I would have no way of protecting myself."
Listening to the necromancer, Lara could understand where she was coming from. She knew what it was like to be different. During her entire childhood she had been Amber, the half elf. She was the round ears among pointy. Still... she couldn't even imagine what it might be hunted to the degree that Infusca was. The necromancer living in a spooky place, but she was currently being nice to them. She seemed like a decent person.
"I... see." Lara responded. While she respected and understood the necromancer she also was slightly disappointed. Just how the heck were they going to get out of here. If anyone else had any suggestions or questions now would be the time to ask them.

Rekka listened as Bartimaeus answered her question. According to him, she had been reacting with the fire. "...So that...explained why I didn't feel good looking directly at the fire..." Rekka trailed off before looking back over at the bard. Then, when she had been able to suddenly summon the armor without realizing it, the fire no longer made her feel ill. Of course, she didn't know the armor was the real reason just that her powers had awakened and had stopped making her feel queasy looking at the flames. At this, Infusca spoke up. Rekka looked over at the necromancer as she went on to explain what it was.
Due to her being around an open flame, Rekka's powers had reacted to the flames. Infusca's words, as she went on to mention that the hteory had been purposed by the greatest wizard alive, sounded like she was implying her suspicions of Bartimaeus. Rekka looked over at the bard in wonder then too. Could it be possible? Maybe.
Apparently, everyone had taken that moment to look directly at Bartimaeus. He had reacted, asking them all why they were looking at him then. Either he was feinting obliviousness and hiding that or was genuinely unsure why they were looking at him. Rekka could understand if Bartimaeus would like to keep his past a secret. All of them had their secrets, after all. Lars dismissed it, letting Bartimaeus keep his secret if he would. Now that their attention was off of him, Lara had directed the question they were all wondering to Infusca. Could they please leave this world?
It was a major disappointment though when Infusca had given them their answer. The only way they could leave would be to go through the blocked path. If Infusca uncovered that area though, she wouldn't have any form of protection from the king on the other side and his people. Rekka could also understand why Infusca would want to keep the path blocked. Still, it couldn't be fun being cooped up in this place. Infusca may have seemed intimidating at first but after they had amused her, she seemed like a decent person. What could they do?
"Well, I can understand you not wanting to jeopardize your own safety. I wouldn't ask you to. It must be...lonely to remain like this." She glanced over at Lara and Bartimaeus. It really looked like they were all stuck here. "Guess we're stuck." Rekka then chose that moment to sit upon the floor. She could think of them suggesting the necormancer going along with them, crazy as it sounds and speak with the king but she didn't want to jeopardize the necromancer's life in that case. After all, necromancy had been banned and the laws would surely harm Infusca.
"...Maybe we could just try to uh...do phasing through?"

Rekka had hit the nail on the head. They were stuck it seemed. Lara agreed with what Rekka was saying as well. It really must have been lonely to be stuck like the necromancer was. Infusca did not comment to indicate whether or not Rekka was right. Instead she remained silent as Rekka continued.
Lara glanced at her in slight confusion. "What do you mean phasing through? Like somehow go through the barrier with it remaining up?" That was the only thing Lara could think of. If she was misunderstanding Rekka she'd have to see.
Bartimaeus didn't seem to have something to add on the matter. He did finally close up his notebook though. Infusca took a moment before responding. "It might be possible. However I do not feel comfortable tempering with it. If it let's you through what is to stop it from letting through someone else?"
Lara wanted to add that if they were able to portal here what was preventing other people from portaling. She chose not to share that opinion because she didn't want to push the issue. They did not know the necromancer that well after all. She didn't trust her not to turn on them just yet.
"What if you came with us?" Bartimaeus asked. "If we changed your appearance to be unrecognizable I doubt you'd be hunted."
Infusca turned to Bartimaeus. She seemed to consider the option. "They would know though. If I take down the barrier they will search for me. They have ways of finding necromancers."
Bartimaeus picked himself off the floor and crossed his arms. "Miss necromancer if the kingdom of the Enchanted Domain really wanted you dead couldn't they just portal in here like we did?"
"Well there went not pushing that matter." Lara thought as she mentally cursed. Leave it to Bartimaeus to put them all into dangerous topics. Lara held her breath, waiting to see what the necromancer would say.
Infusca narrowed her eyes and shot daggers at Bartimaeus. Lara was not picking up rays of sunshine from the necromancer in response to Bartimaeus. Surprisingly though she did say, "True..." Her voice trailed off but her eyes continued to lock on the bard. After a moment more they seemed to soften before she let out a sigh. "Perhaps there is a way to go with you and keep the barrier in tact... Phase through as you said. I will think on it. There are some rooms that you can stay in for the night past this ball room. There's a kitchen as well if you are hungry. I will give you an answer on the morrow."

Rekka remained on the floor then not sure what Infusca must have been thinking. She wasn't trying to pry into how the necromancer must have truly felt nor trying to remind her of her isolation. It was just something she figured was lonely. Rekka would have gone mad if she had been isolated. Infusca had only managed to keep herself sane by making undead come to life to entertain her. Even then, it had to have bothered her. No wonder she had found what they had to say boring.
When Rekka mentioned phasing through, Rekka looked over at Lara when she had questioned what she meant. She gave a nod in response to Lara's second question about if that was what she had meant. "Yeah, that's what I mean. That way, the barrier's still up and can keep out most invaders." She didn't want to point out to Infusca that they had all been portalled to here and someone else could just as easily do the same exact thing.
Infusca answered it stating that it might be possible but she didn't want to tamper with the barrier. Her question was a viable one at that. "You're right..." Rekka trailed off before Bartimaeus finally spoke up. Rekka glanced over at him as he offered that Infusca go along with them. What he was suggesting sounded like a good idea but Infusca shot it down stating that the enemy had ways of finding her. Then, Bartimaeus brought up a point that Rekka nor Lara wanted to bring up for the sake of not being rude toward Infusca or inconsiderate. Even Rekka was uneasy on the subject since they couldn't know for sure how Infusca would react. At this point, she wouldn't blame her if she decided to do away with them over what Bartimaeus had said.
Oddly enough, despite the glaring daggers she was giving Bartimaeus she agreed with him. She didn't like it but eventually, she caved with a sigh, her expression no longer venomous. After a moment, she agreed that there probably was a way for them to phase through that barrier permitting her to go along with them as well as keep up that barrier. Infusca stated that she would think on the matter. In the meantime, she offered them rooms to stay in for the night and a kitchen to eat in if they should find themselves hungry. That had surprised Rekka. Infusca didn't have to feel obligated to let them stay in her castle but she had.
"Thank you, Infusca. That is very kind of you." Really, Rekka genuinely meant it.

Infusca glanced over to Rekka. "Despite what many people say, I consider myself a genuinely fair person. I'm not my mother." Lara did not understand what that meant, and she doubted that anyone else did either.
"That is good to hear. Thank you Miss Infusca." Lara wanted to make sure that she thanked the necromancer as well.
"It is no problem." Infusca raised her staff and lightly tapped it on the floor again. On command a living skeleton walked over to them. "He will show you the way to the rooms and kitchen. I do not mean to push you, but I would like some time to think on my own."
Lara nodded and followed the skeleton. Alvi and Bartimaeus both followed the skeleton as it led them to the back of the room. Lara could not tell if it was a male or female skeleton, nor did it seem the type to really answer if she had asked. The skeleton led them through a door and into another hallway. Once the door closed behind them all, Alvi rushed forward.
"Ah! So glad to be away from that necromancer lady! You don't know what it's like to be a spirit Amber. I was so bored! Following you around was annoying as heck! But you were the only living person who could hear me. Thankfully that evil lady allowed me into this plane. I bet now I can actually find a way to pass on."
Lara glanced over at Alvi. Even though he was older than her, his body was still that of a fifteen year old elf. His personality matched his body's age. "Mr. Spirit. I was wondering if we could have a chat sometime before the end of today? I would love to record your adventures since your death!" Bartimaeus asked.
Lara just rolled her eyes. Leaning over to Rekka, Lara quietly mumbled. "That bard is going to be the end of us! Did you see how close we got back there?" Alvi and Bartimaeus were too busy speaking with one another to hear Lara's statement to Rekka.

Rekka looked back at Infusca as she informed her that she was a fair person despite what others said. The necromancer, though seemingly intimidating appearance wise, seemed actually the opposite. Maybe they made a new friend out of her? It was possible. Rekka was inwardly relieved that Infusca was different than what she appeared. It just goes to show others shouldn't always judge others by their appearance. As for what Infusca meant about her mother, Rekka had wondered if the woman meant that her mother had been what people believed was a stereotypical necromancer and violent. She didn't question Infusca about it and chose to smile and nod in acknowledgement of what Infusca had said.
Lara thanked Infusca as well before the woman summoned a skeleton with a tap of her staff. It walked over to them as Infusca informed them that the skeleton would show them the way to the rooms and the kitchen. She hadn't meant to push them along but she wanted time to think on her own. Rekka gave an understanding nod. It was a tough decision that Infusca needed to make. Rekka respected that since she, too would like to have time to think herself on such a matter as well.
"Alright, thank you, Infusca."
With that, Rekka followed Lara's lead behind the skeleton. When they were out of the ballroom, which Rekka was surprised to find out it had been since it looked more like a dungeon than a ballroom, Alvi started speaking to Lara about how being a spirit by himself was boring. He really was young looking especially for an elf. Rekka was left with the impression that most looked young but were wiser beyond their years suggested. Now that they met Infusca, Alvi was certain that he could now find a way to pass on.
Bartimaeus then chose that moment to speak to Alvi, stating that they should speak of Alvi's adventures since his death. Rekka gave a bit of a sigh at this. The bard wouldn't be able to pass up an opportunity such as this one. Seeing Lara leaning toward her in the corner of her eye, Rekka didn't jump. Instead, she remained put to hear Lara mumble in her ear about Bartimaeus being the end of them. A slightly amused but grim expression appeared then on Rekka's face at that. The bard certainly could have risked their lives back there with how bold he had been with Infusca. Rekka answered Lara in a low town but only enough so that Lara could hear her.
"Yeah, Infusca could have easily turned us to toast because of his forwardness. Maybe next time we should duct tape his mouth?"

Lara couldn't help but giggle at Rekka's comment. "I was thinking more along the lines of sewing it together for good. But we can try the taping his mouth option first."
Behind them, Lara picked up a bit of what the bard and Alvi were speaking about behind them. Alvi was apparently describing his adventures. "And then the next thing I knew I was wandering through the town!"
"How interesting. So you mean to say that if you wanted to you could do it right now?" Bartimaeus asked.
Alvi's next comment came off confident and cocky. "Oh ya. I'm not limited by tiring muscles or any of that crap. I can zoom!"
Lara just shook her head. Well it seemed that those two were hitting it off at least. The skeleton suddenly came to a stop at a door. It turned to the door and opened it, but did not enter. Pointing inside, Lara took it to mean that the skeleton wanted them to go that way.
Approaching the open doorway Lara laid eyes on the vast kitchen inside. It was very much what one would expect out of a kitchen in this place. Lara spotted ovens, fridges, tables, and a variety of different utensils used for cooking and eating. What she had not expected to see was a large pig of a man inside.
The man was very much dead, with decayed green skin, hollow eyes, wet looking black hair, and a black goatee. He portrayed a large round stomach hidden behind a white apron around his neck and a chef's hat on his head. "Oh me! Oh my! We have guests I see! I see! I had just received word from the master that you would be coming this way! This way!" The large man said with a large smile that would have been warming if a hanging piece of his lip didn't look like it was about to fall off from decay.
As his mouth moved the piece of lip moved with it. "My friends you must give me time to prepare! to prepare! Give me thirty minutes good sirs and misses and I'll cook you up a feast. I will. I will. Now skeleton close that door!" The jolly good nature of the man vanished as the door slammed by the skeleton. It made Lara jump.
Bartimaeus and Alvi were too busy talking to have heard the conversation, but they turned when the door slammed. Lara didn't know if Rekka had heard the conversation, but she might have given that she was so close to Lara at the moment. "Okie Dokie then." Lara said with a shrug.
The skeleton turned and continued on down the hallway.

Rekka gave a bit of a giggle of her own in response to what Lara said about sewing Bartimaeus's mouth shut for good. "Always a nice plan if the previous one fails. I like your's better." If the bard had any notion about their plan, he would have been horrified or had run by now. Since he was preoccupied with Alvi, Bartimaeus hadn't caught a word of what had been said between the two young women. It was obvious by the chattering behind the two that the bard and the spirit were getting along great.
Rekka stopped abruptly when Lara had and the skeleton did. It had paused before a door, turned and opened it for them. It looked like it was trying to tell them to head inside. Lara began to lead the way, Rekka following close behind. The two never actually entered the room, however. Inside, it was clearly a kitchen but that's not what caught Rekka's attention. Her single eye had immediately picked up on the large figure in the room. The large, decaying figure of a man. No doubt, he was a chef and even though he spoke in a warm manner, Rekka couldn't help but feel queasy. That piece of dangling lip didn't help matters much either. Hopefully, they wouldn't have to eat in front of this undead chef or Rekka might have problems eating.
Eventually, after informing them that he would have a feast for them in thirty minutes, the chef told the skeleton to shut the door. His attitude had changed completely as if his work concerning food was more important and couldn't be disturbed any further. Without hesitation, the skeleton simply responded by slamming the door shut on him. The slam was so loud that it had stopped Alvi and Bartimaeus's conversation as they turned to look over at the door. Without further to do, the skeleton continued onward as if nothing had happened. No doubt, intending to show them where the bedrooms were.
Hearing Lara's words, Rekka gave a nod at that. "...Unexpected. Guess we're headed to our rooms now?" Rekka had guessed. With a long walk down the hallway, they eventually came upon a set of doors. They were evenly spread with there being at least six or more on either side of the hallway. The skeleton gestured towards a room, walked over to it and opened it. When it did, it gestured for the bard to enter it. If he did, the skeleton would then turn away from that room and head over to another one and gesture for Lara to enter. If she did, it would then open another door and gesture for Rekka. Rekka would then head into the room to inspect it. (OOC: Can fix this if you'd rather something else happen.)

((OOC: Not at all. Speeds things along nicely. Your more than welcome to speed / add your own influences you know that haha.))
Lara was surprised to see that they would have their own rooms. Though she should have expected it given how big this castle looked. No doubt there were plenty of rooms in this castle. Lara watched Bartimaeus give the skeleton a nod of thanks before heading into the room. The skeleton continued on and indicated for Lara to enter.
"Thank you." She said. Giving the skeleton a nod of thanks she eyed Rekka. "If anything happens just shout. You hear that Bartimaeus!" She shouted the second sentence.
"Loud and clear, Captain!" Lara heard the bard's voice a bit distance off. Alvi had chosen to accompany the bard through the door, continuing whatever part of the conversation the bard and spirit were having. Lara would have to spend some time with Alvi later. She hadn't seen another elf from her village in years. Even though Alvi probably died not too much later after she left she still wanted to know what had happened. Perhaps he had even visited the village too.
Inside, Lara found a small comfort room attached to a bedroom through a door. She eyed an open closet with no door in the bedroom in the left wall. Additionally the bedroom had been kept in good condition. The blankets looked fairly new with no dust clinging to the side table next to it, or the dresser across from it. Lara couldn't help but wonder why. After all she doubted the dead really needed to sleep. Did they? That was another thing she'd have to ask Alvi.
Taking time to look around the room, open the dresser drawers, and even lay down for a moment, Lara didn't feel the time past. But before she knew it the sound of the chef's voice came from the hallway. "It's complete, complete! Come my friends! my friends! I have prepared thee a feast! A feast!
Picking herself up off the bed, Lara returned to the doorway to see the chef pass her doorway on his way back to the kitchen. He had probably walked past all their doors as he shouted before turning around. His large back was to Lara as he walked back, not waiting for them it seemed. Bartimaeus appeared out of his doorway not a moment later, with Alvi appearing next to him. The ghost elf actually walked through the wall next to the doorway.
"Did I hear that man say dinner was ready?!" Bartimaeus asked.
Lara nodded. "Yep... You're not going to be bringing your notebook again are you?" Lara asked.
Bartimaeus gave her a smile. "Oh that big thing! Heck no. I'd not have my notes get food on them."
Lara nodded and even smiled at that answer. She was ready to head back to the kitchen whenever Rekka showed up.

(OOC: Okies! lol)
Rekka wasn't too surprised when they were split off into separate rooms. Honestly, the castle was large enough. She sort of liked the idea of having a separate room. Not that she had anything against the others. She just preferred to sleep by herself when she could. Only because she got more rest that way. In a crowd, it wasn't easy for her to slip into sleep. She knew that right now, she couldn't sleep just yet. It was too creepy for her to sleep, especially with the knowledge of undead things roaming the halls. Of course, nothing presented itself as pure evil. It's just the fact undead things were alive again that creeped her out.
Rekka almost jumped out of her skin when Lara spoke up. She had walked into her own room to look at it in wonder. Surprisingly, the room was very clean and didn't seem to be as aged as certain areas of the castle. Infusca, no doubt, had some means of keeping her home cleanly. At least there wasn't moss dangling from the ceiling like that staircase they had come down from when they first came here. Realizing what Lara had said, Rekka turned to her to better see her with her only eye and nodded.
"I will!" Rekka had answered Lara. She listened as Lara shouted the second sentence to Bartimaeus. He sounded distant. No doubt, he had ventured into his room already and was inspecting it in wonder possibly. No doubt, he and Alvi had a long night to talk. The bard was rather interested in the spirit and the young elf spirit seemed just as eager to tell his tales. 'Well, at least someone's happy!' Rekka thought to herself before closing her door to walk further into her room. It was rather nice. It had a sort of waiting room before going into an actual bedroom. The bed itself was rather surprisingly large and wide. She wasn't used to this kind of luxury.
During the time that Rekka had spent investigating the room for anything strange, a significant amount of time had passed. She had seated herself in one of the seats in the waiting room, patiently waiting for when they would head out to the kitchen again. As she sat there, she had removed the bandage covering her injured eye socket where an eye should have been. The bandage had felt a bit loose. Gently, she placed it back on as her mind sifted through thoughts. What would they do if they were left here forever? She did not think ill of Infusca but the thought of being isolated here with it just being them felt depressing. If only she had brought her portal beans!
'This sucks...survived two instances only to get stuck in here...' Rekka thought with a sigh.
Then, she heard it. The voice of the chef was calling out to them all announcing that he had finished making them a feast. Mentally, Rekka gave a sigh before she got up out of her seat and walked up to the door. Opening it up, she stepped out to find that the others were already there. 'Hm, they move fast,' Rekka thought. She had heard the bard and Lara taking. As she stood there, Rekka almost had a heart attack when Alvi had suddenly walked through the wall! Doing her best to get her heart beat under control, she walked out toward the others.
"Wonder how dinner's going to be." With that, she followed the rest into where the chef would lead them. He hadn't bee lying about it being a feast. It certainly was a feast as she placed her eyes on the food the undead chef had labored over.

Lara was wondering the exact thing that Rekka voiced. Given the appearance of the chief, Lara was slightly worried that they would be eating rotten food or something. But what awaited them truly was a feast. A long table had been prepared. There were several dishes of food to choose from. They could have probably sat at this table for hours and never really finish one whole dish.
The chief smiled as they came in, giving each of them a nod and smile as they took a seat. "Enjoy! Enjoy!" He told them before retreating.
"Well I'll be!" Bartimaeus exclaimed. He didn't wait to dig in. The bard took a hold of his plate and started filling it with some of the various types of foods.
"It is awfully kind of them to prepare all this food for us." Lara said as she began to put food on her own plate.
"A little to kind if you ask me... They could be poisoning you guys." Alvi said. The spirit couldn't eat but he was sitting in one of the chairs.
Lara just rolled her eyes. "I don't think so Alvi. Infusca seemed nice enough. I don't think she'd do that."
"Wouldn't that make for an interesting story though!" Bartimaeus chipped in, between bites of his food.

Rekka walked with the rest toward where the chef took them. Once they got inside, Rekka's eyebrows rose at the sight of what met them. It really was a feast. She was surprised since she had thought they would be given rotting food. Well, that was a relief. Rekka couldn't help but feel hungry as her eye surveyed the foods the chef had prepared for them. There was plenty of it too. No way could they all possibly finish the feast set for them. The chef had really outdone himself. Even though he was undead, he knew his stuff. Already, she seemed to forget the fact that someone undead had made this meal for them.
As they filtered in, the chef smiled at each of them and nodded at them as they all took a seat. With that, he told them to enjoy and then left their presence to eat the feast he had provided for them. Rekka picked up her own plate as the other started to help themselves. It was nice to live somewhat of a life of luxury, she supposed. Rekka never experienced anything of the sort but it was nice. She didn't have to struggle to make ends meet. Now, she no longer had to worry about her mother. As she began to plop food on her plate, she wondered how her mother was doing and if she'd ever see her again. Her mother had always sent her letters while she had been training as a soldier in the kingdom. Last she knew, her mother had been almost well again.
Lara's voice tore Rekka from her thoughts of her mother when she said how nice it was for them to prepare a feast for them. "Yes, it was. We should thank them once we're done." At least, that's what Rekka figured. They didn't, after all, have to go through all of this trouble for them. Then, Alvi mentioned how it was too kind and that they could be poisoning them right now. Hearing Lara's words, Rekka gave a nod in agreement. What Bartimaeus said made Rekka give a sigh.
"Why go through all this trouble just to kill us when they could have earlier? It wouldn't make any sense..." As she said this, Rekka dug her fork into her plate and helped herself at the pasta she had scooped up from before.

Lara agreed with Rekka. They certainly needed to thank their host after all of this, and the chief of course. Continuing with her meal, Lara noticed Bartimaeus in the corner of her eye with a pen in his hand and writing on something next to his plate. "Bartimaeus! I thought you left your notebook back in the room?"
Bartimaeus looked up. "I did!" Placing the pen down he lifted a small flip notebook. "This is my notepad. It's pocket size."
Lara rolled her eyes at that one. Truly the bard was just unchangeable. Who knew what exactly he was writing down. Alvi on the other hand answered Rekka's question with a snotty mimick of her words. "It wouldn't make any sense." Lara shot him a look which caused him to lower in his chair, cross his arms, and pout.
Continuing her meal, Lara ate her full. It was a great meal. The food was better than anything she ever had in the barracks. The chief returned after they had finished. "Any room for deserts? For deserts?" Lara then noticed he had a black chocolate cake in his hand. It looked scrumptious! Sadly though her stomach made a noise in its fullness.
"Thank you so much for the meal chief! It looks great but I'm too full for more."
"I'll have a piece!" Bartimaeus said.
"You ate more food than anyone else. You had three plates!" Alvi said. It was true. The bard had eaten quite alot.
Bartimaeus just shrugged. "I'm a growing man. What can I say?"

Rekka was far too hungry to care that Bartimaeus was writing in a notebook or the fact that Alvi was being a brat toward her. The food was too good for her mood to be anything else but content knowing she was eating. There was no telling what they would have to experience depending on what Infusca's decision would be in the end. Regardless, she wasn't going to let herself think about their tough situation right now. They were in a seemingly hospitable environment for now and there was no telling when things could easily get taken away again. It was best to enjoy the moment while it lasted.
The food was truly exquisite. She hadn't had anything like this before so she was eager to savor it as best she could. It was delicious and she seemed to eat so much that she didn't realize how many plates she went through. Of course, not a ton of plates since she was a small girl. If anything, she would probably have had three plates of food as well. She was really hungry. By the time she had finished her third, the chef had returned asking them if they had any room for desserts. Looking up, she could see a chocolate cake in the chef's hand.
Lara stated she was too full where Bartimaeus was eager for more. What the bard said in repsonse to Alvi though made Rekka wonder if he was joking about his appetite or if he was being serious. Bartimaeus certainly didn't act his age and if there was some odd chance that he was a different age than he appeared to be, well then it would be quite a shocker. Then again, would it really be a shocker? The bard certainly acted like a kid so if it were revealed he were younger then it shouldn't really be a surprise.
"I would like a piece, too, please. The food was delicious! Thank you for the meal and the dessert!" Rekka had thanked the chef.
Before long, their meal was done and over with. The dessert hadn't been entirely finished but Bartimaeus proved to be the one with the most room in his stomach out of them all. Rekka couldn't have another bite. After thanking the chef again, they were lead out of the kitchen into the hall. Heading the direction they had come, they all split off into their separate rooms and one by one, in their own way, eventually drifted off into sleep.
Rekka woke with a start when morning came.

That Night: Infusca sat upon her throne of living skeleton’s in thought. She was vaguely aware of her mother’s voice as she berated her for allowing the new comers into the castle. “It is a disgrace!” Infusca picked up from her voice. Her mother was not happy with their “guests”.
”Enough mother! I’m tired of being trapped her like a child, and nothing you say will change my mind. I will go with them.” Infusca had already made up her mind and no one was going to change her answer. Infusca was not an evil person. If anything she was just very lonely. It had been years since she had actual interaction with someone who wasn’t dead.
The bard, the captain and the spirit that accompanied her, and the one eyed girl all interested her. She had no clue as to why they were teleported her of all places. But she would help them. Besides there was the chance that the old king didn’t even remember her. She might be able to live a normal life for once. The first thing Infusca was going to do when she got out of here was go for ice cream. It was something that had been a privilege when she was a child. They didn’t have it on this world though.
“I cannot protect you if you leave. I am bound to this castle Infusca. I warn you that there is only trouble if you leave.” Her mother once again tried to convince her.
Infusca glanced over to her mother’s spirit. ”I don’t need you to protect me. I’m a grown woman mother. It is time that I made my way out of this world.”
“But Infusca…” Her mother started, but Infusca cut her off.
“Enough mother. Leave me.” Infusca willed her magic into her staff and tapped it on the floor. She forced her mother out of the room with a large gust of wind. Infusca was not going to be her mother’s little daughter any longer. It was time to leave this place. When the newcomers returned in the morning she would share the good news with them.
------------------------------------ Morning Comes:
On the other side of the world, within the enchanted kingdom of the Enchanted Domain, Julian Lotus stood before the opening doors of the castle. His eyes peered up at the large doors his mind feeling a nervousness he hadn’t felt in quite some time. He always felt this way when he returned home. For the most part the enchanted castle had remained unchanged since he left four years ago. ”You might have not changed, but I surely have.” Julian thought.
When he had arrived at the front gates Julian had surprised everyone. None of them recognized the nineteen year old young prince. His normal short cut hair was now a variety of curls on his head. His body was much leaner than before with the majority of baby fat turned to muscle. He still looked a scholar with those round glasses on his face.
“Surely this cannot be Prince Julian?!” The Captain of the Guard had said when the soldiers at the front gate had refused Julian entry. Julian had responded with just a slight smile and a blush. The Captain, a bear of a man, had wrapped his arms around Julian and engulfed him in a bear’s hug.
They had taken care of his belongings and Julian had promised the Captain that he would come and tell him of his studies at a later time. Then it had been a walk through the castle grounds until he had arrived here. Everything inside of Julian told him to turn back. This wasn’t his place. Orion was supposed to be the heir, not he.
The sudden opening of the doors from the inside made Julian pause and even caused him to take a step back. His eyes laid upon the golden armor of the royal guard as Julius locked eyes on the two in front, the two on the side, and two in the back. They formed a circle around a single man in the center. Long gray colored hair reached the top of his shoulders. He was an older man, in his mid-sixties, yet he looked perhaps two times older. Hard and worn eyes locked their gaze on Julian. His response was to immediately look away, as it had always been. “Hello father.” Julian said as he just then remembered to go to one knee in a formal bow.
King Lion bore no smile of warmth for his son. In fact he didn’t say a single word, instead making a sound of annoyance as he turned around and began to make his way inside. Rising Julian watched his father’s back. “Back to hell.” Julian said quietly to himself as he followed.
----------------------
Lara awoke from a knock on the door. It had been so wonderful to finally sleep in a bed for once that she had instantly fallen asleep the night before. She could have definitely stayed asleep for a couple more hours. "Awake everyone! I have prepared a breakfast! A breakfast! The queen bids you join her for a feast! a feast!" The familiar sound of the chief's voice shouted from the closed door.
Sighing Lara forced herself up. She quickly put on her clothes and made her way over towards where they were before. She hadn't seen anyone when she stepped outside, so she just headed towards the kitchens. Either people weren't up yet or they would meet her at the kitchens.
When she arrived there, Lara found a familiar site to yesterday. A bunch of food had once again prepared for them. Bartimaeus was already sitting at the table next to Alvi. He was chatting away with Infusca, who continued to sit in a chair made of skeletons. Lara wondered how she had managed to get her giant throne chair into this room. She didn't know that it was made of living skeletons.
"Ah Captain! Good to see you are awake!" Bartimaeus said as he put down his fork. "Our host here was just sharing the good news with us! We'll be able to travel through the shield with her after breakfast."
Lara smiled. That really was good news.

Rekka looked around, flustered. She didn't realize where she was at first until she heard the sound of the chef's voice from the night before. Apparently, the queen of this castle wished they attend a breakfast feast with her this morning. Infusca, no doubt, had made her decision. What it would be, Rekka wasn't sure but she appreciated Infusca's hospitality. Pushing herself up off of the bed, she reached toward the small end table and picked up her eye patch. She normally tried to keep it on but some nights it was just too annoying to have on when she was trying to sleep. So, she sometimes took it off at night.
Putting it on the appropriate spot after making sure it was with the help of a large, long mirror for her to see, Rekka headed out of the room. Ahead of her, she could just see Lara's figure. She was headed in the direction where they were to have their breakfast feast with Infusca and from the look of things, it would be in the same area they had been last night. Quietly, Rekka had followed Lara's lead. Eventually, Lara took a turn in and left Rekka behind to make the trek toward where everyone else is.
By the time Rekka had stepped inside, she had caught the last part of what Bartimaeus had announced to Lara. Infusca had decided to go along with them by going through the shield once breakfast was finished. A smile appeared upon Rekka's face then as she had stepped inside. It was good to know that Infusca had chosen to go with them rather than have them all stay here forever. Not that Infusca had a bad home. It's just being isolated from the rest of the worlds was depressing.
"That's good news to hear!" Rekka stated as she had found a place for her to take a seat and placed herself at the table. Only then did she noticed that Infusca had brought along, somehow, her throen of skeletons. Since there didn't appear to be any dangling or rotting flesh on them, Rekka was able to not feel queasy then.

Breakfast passed by awfully quickly. At least it seemed so to Lara. The food was good as the night before. The chief was truly talented. Conversation was kept light, with Infusca even joining in at certain points. The topic of conversation was what would happen once they went through the barrier. Infusca informed them that from what she could tell the old watchtower posts had been abandoned. With no one able to go in or out there had not been signs of life from the edges of the enchanted lands for some time.
"Our biggest obstacle will be entering the city. As you guys finish your preparations to leave, I'll be changing my appearance. I've decided to cut my hair, and I have an old traveler's cloak my mother use to wear. I figure some make up is in order as well. I hope that will be enough to not rouse any suspicions."
Lara had tried to assure their host that it would work. After all she didn't want to throw Infusca under the bus if they did rouse any suspicions. "If we get into the city it will be quite easy. I've got plenty of munny for myself. I'll show you to the gummi ship and you'll be able to get on your way."
"What will you do after we leave?" Bartimaeus has asked.
Infusca had returned the answer with a small smile. "I'm not positive, but I have plenty of munny as I said. I'm thinking of hiring a gummi ship to the old battle grounds actually. My mother died there, and I've heard that they built a memorial. I'd like to visit it."
After breakfast, Lara returned to her room to gather the belongings she had. Really the only thing she had with her small pack that attached to her belt. She hadn't thought to bring it to breakfast because she doubted she'd need it. Once packed she joined the others in the great hall. There Infusca awaited them. This time the room was empty except for her.
She had cut her hair super short in a boyish style. Gone were the several skeleton bones that had seemed like armor on her and in their place was a simple travelers hooded cape with sweat like pants around her hips and a black tank top with a pink skeleton on her chest. As for make up, Lara noticed sapphire blue eye shadow, a red lip stick, and a hint of blush. Infusca looked different enough.
"Are you all ready to go?" She asked. Lara glanced at the rest of them. She smiled and nodded. "Were ready."
((OOC: Feel free to speed things along farther))

Breakfast went by quickly. Rekka didn't seem to realize she had gobbled down her food so fast until they came to the point of conversation about what they were going to d out of the barrier. Infusca was going to change her appearance while they were busy making preparations to leave. Rekka heard Lara reassuring Infusca that it would work. Rekka wasn't sure how the kingdom would detect a Necromancer but she hoped that things would work out. She didn't want Infusca to get hurt because of them.
Infusca would take them to the Gummi Ship and then they could be on their way. The way Infusca said it told them that she didn't plan on going along with them. Bartimaeus asked the very question that was on Rekka's mind. Infusca informed them that she planned on hiring a ship t take her to the battlegrounds to see the memorial there. Rekka smiled a bit at that.
"I hope you will get the chance to then and have a nice trip."
Once breakfast was done, everyone headed off to prepare. Infusca would change her appearance while they were busy gathering their things. Honestly, all Rekka had on her was just her father's sword and the armor she was given from the kingdom of Cornelia. Putting the armor back on, sheathing her father's sword at her side, Rekka walked out of her room and into the hallway where everyone was gathering.
Infusca had cut her hair rather short and her appearance looked rather different than her previous. It looked like the change would throw off any would-be-pursuers of Infusca. soon as everyone was there, Infusca had asked them if they were ready to go. Rekka nodded in agreement as Lara stated that they were ready. At that, they headed down the hallway. It wasn't too long of a trek before they were finally outside again. Rekka recognized the long land bridge. Once again, she felt a sense of doubt. Heights of that magnitude bothered Rekka but she bore with it as they traveled from the castle all the way to the barrier again.
Rekka looked up at the barrier for a moment before turning to the rest. Infusca approached the barrier.

"Follow me." Infusca told them as she approached the barrier. Lara remembered what she had encountered last time when she came to that barrier. She was slightly afraid of running into that sort of invisible wall again. Still she did as Infusca instructed and followed behind her.
Leading the way, Infusca approached the barrier. With her staff in hand she titled it slightly forward towards the barrier. When it touched the barrier a sort of ripple appeared in the air. Lara could actually see the air peel back like a curtain as a semi hole was made. "How interesting." Bartimaues remarked.
Infusca instructed them further. "Make sure you follow directly behind me. Step only where the person behind you did. There is a complex path we must follow to go through the barrier in order to keep it together. I cannot guarantee your safety if you do not follow the path I take." And without a moment of wait, Infusca headed into the barrier.
She led them into a very complex path. In fact Lara could hear the woman counting steps as she went straight, left, straight, right, straight, left, straight, etc. Lara stopped trying to keep in touch with the exact process of the way they took. There were points during the walk that they even headed back the way they came. More then one Lara was sure they had already gone that way.
The barrier only covered about thirty feet in front of the entrance to the cave. It ended at the foot of the cave, with Infusca leading them through it. While in the barrier, Lara could also hear a humming sound around them. It was the barrier protesting against their travels. Needless to say she was happy when they were finally in the cave.
"We made it!" Bartimaeus told Rekka, clear delight on his face. Lara could feel some of that delight as well. She had been worried the night before that they were going to be stuck there.
"How far is it through the cave?" Lara asked Rekka as they started down into the cavern.
"If I am remembering correctly the path is pretty straight forward. It leads right to the main road. As I said early this morning the old sentry posts await right at the other end of the cave. Though I've not picked up any life or movement in them for a couple of years now."
Lara nodded in understanding. She was excited to go through the cave and get on the main road.

Rekka heard Infusca tell them to follow her as she approached the barrier. Silently, Rekka watched as the necromancer walked right up to the barrier and then touch the barrier with her staff. As Infusca did so, the barrier seemed to ripple and open up a hole for them all to travel through. It was a unique sight to see, that was for sure. Rekka didn't think she'd ever see something again like this so long as she lived. She heard the bard mention how interesting the sight had been in response to what Infusca did, voicing Rekka's thoughts on it.
Once she had finished doing this, Infusca informed them that they were to follow her directly. They were to step only where the person behind them did. Rekka wondered how they were going to travel through the barrier backwards but nodded her head in understanding. She would do what Infusca had instructed them. They were to follow a complex path in order to keep the barrier up. Infusca couldn't guarantee their safety should they not follo the path she took. Rekka understood. She had no intentions of straying from the path Infusca would take them down. She just hoped she wouldn't have a clumsy moment in the barrier. That wouldn't end well if what Infusca said were true.
After warning them, Infusca had stepped into the hole she had made through the barrier. As the necromancer did so, all of them filed in after her closely in silence. Rekka focused on the steps those in front of her had taken doing her best to mimic the step as best she could. She was also careful to keep a steady enough pace for those behind her to follow closely without risk of losing them in here. All the while, Rekka had focused on the steps others took without taking in the scenery around her. She didn't notice that a couple of times, they seemed to have reached a similar area as if they had been going in circles.
It wasn't until she heard Bartimaeus that Rekka had finally looked up upon stepping out of the barrier. They had all come out into what appeared to be a cave. They had made it through! Rekka felt so relieved knowing they were all safe and sound outside of the barrier. Infusca hadn't been kidding when she said the path they were going to take would be complex. At least they managed to keep that barrier up for Infusca's protection whenever she would return here. Rekka looked just as delighted to be out of the barrier as the bard did. They had made it!
Lara questioned Infusca then about the cave and how long it would take to get out. According to Infusca, the path was pretty straight forward from here on out. Rekka was relieved to hear that. The sooner they got out of here the better. After Infusca had answered Lara's question, they walked through the cavern without incident. There had been a time or two where Rekka had accidentally wandered to the side because of the cave being so dark in some areas that she couldn't see but she managed alright. Eventually, they came out onto the other end of the cave. Rekka winced, shielding her eye as the sudden light stung it. When it adjusted, she slowly removed her arm and opened her eye to look out.
The main road was in sight from where they were and like Infusca said, there were towers that would have held sentries but nothing appeared to be moving or even living in there. It looked deserted. "...Should one of us risk going out first so if something should happen, the others have a chance of escaping?" Rekka suggested to Lara, looking to her since Lara was still technically her leader in all of this. She would follow Lara's orders.
