Lara thought that Rekka had a good point. After going through the cave she was just about to go ahead and step right out on the road. She hadn't thought about making sure it was safe. "And your supposed to be the captain." Alvi told her. Seeing the spirit say it out loud to her right made Lara jump. Did he just read her mind?!
Glancing down at the elf, she saw his smile. Alvi had told her that he couldn't read her thoughts before. Lara went to bop Alvi on the head but her hand passed right through him. She settled for just glaring. "What?" He asked as if innocent.
Infusca though was the one to speak up now. "I... I don't know. I'm... I think you guys should lead now. I don't..."
Seeing an apparent stress on the woman, Lara stepped forward. Well she was the captain. It was time to lead. "This is what we'll do. I'll go first. Look for my signal." Without hesitation, Lara went ahead and stepped out of the remaining darkness and into the light.
Standing and walking tall her eyes gazed at the surrounding hilly scene, the ancient abandoned looking watch towers about half a mile away down the road, and what could only be the large Enchanted City not more than a half a days away in the distance. Even from here she could see the towering enchanted castle and the surrounding city.
Lara, though she acted tough, was cautious. Her eyes and senses were peered open for anything and everything. As she came right up to the watch towers she gazed up. She couldn't see anything inside them. Lara decided to risk a, "Hello! Anyone here!" Shouting loud enough that Lara was sure anyone inside would have surely heard her.
After a few seconds with no response, Lara let out a held in breath. It looked like these towers really were abandoned. At least that was what she thought until out of the corner of her eye she saw movement from one of the towers. Instinctively she summoned her axe and raised it. But it appeared that she had summoned it for naught. Lara watched a black crow from the top of the watchtower take flight into the air. "Your getting way to jumpy, Lara." She told herself. Lara waved at the rest of them back in the cave, inviting them to join her.

Rekka made no comment hen Alvi spoke to Lara in such a way. She didn't think any less of Lara about not considering the checking for safety issue. Everyone forgot things here and there. Sure, it could have wound up worse than this but it had been prevented since Rekka had merely spoken up to help the others. After all, they were all a team. It was up to the others to help plan things. Not everything should just fall onto the leader of the group after all. Rekka watched as Lara made to bop Alvi on the head only to pass through the spirit's head whom was smiling up at her innocently pretending that what he said hadn't been provoking.
Infusca spoke and from what Rekka could guess, it sounded like the necromancer was unsure of herself or starting to become panicky. "It'll be alright, Infusca." Rekka had wanted to reassure her more but she couldn't think of what else to say to her. Rekka didn't have any special sensory abilities to her as far as she knew it. There were no fires nearby, at least not from what she could tell. Everything just depended now on what the scout would detect that they sent out to make sure nothing bad happened to them all. Se hard Lara state that she would go first and that they should wait for her signal. Rekka nodded to confirm that she had heard this.
"Alright, good luck, Lara." Rekka hoped Lara would be alright as she watched her step out into the open.
For a time, Lara wandered about outside while they anxiously waited in the cave. It looked like so far, nothing was happening. Rekka felt her heart beat quicken a bit as Lara walked right up to the watch towers. As Lara did so, Rekka glanced at them with her one good eye and squinted to try and see if there was any movement in the sentry towers. Nothing seemed to stir, even when they heard Lara call up to them asking if anyone was there. Infusca's senses had been true then. At least, Rekka hoped things held true.
Then, Lara summoned her axe, raising it. Rekka tried to see if there was anything but there wasn't. Maybe she thought she saw something? After that, Lara eventually gestured for them to head over. "Coast appears to be clear...maybe one of us guards the rear while we head out?" Rekka suggested as she stepped out of the cave, hand on the hilt of her father's sword just in case. She walked confidently as she went so as to not spark suspicion if there really was anyone out here somewhere.

Lara waited for her friends to catch up with her. Infusca had pulled the traveler's cloak tightly around her to try and hide her appearance. With the hood pulled up to cover the top of her head, Lara decided it was better to not comment. It was clear that Infusca was notice. She kept gazing around like a baby deer out of the woods for the first time.
"Ahhh! The enchanted road! I thought we'd not be able to see it!" Bartimaeus commented.
As they walked past the watchtowers, Lara's eyebrow rose in interest to Bartimaeus's comment. "You've been here before Mr. Bartimaeus?" Alvi asked.
"Since when do you call anyone mister?" Lara thought to herself. With the way Alvi went on about humans she was surprised to hear the respect in his voice.
Bartimaeus returned Alvi's comment, "Why yes. I've been to all the world's that still exist. And even some that no longer do."
Behind Bartimaeus, Infusca turned to Rekka. "Who is that man really?" Infusca probably asked her because Rekka and the rest of them knew Bartimaeus longer.
If Bartimaeus heard Infusca's comment, he didn't show it or respond to it. Instead he and Alvi went into a conversation about what it was like to no longer have to go to the bathroom anymore. It was a conversation Lara was better off not listening too. Instead she focused on the road. Most likely they'd not start running into any homes or farms until they were more than half way there. Lara didn't expect anything to happen, and nothing would. That is, until they reached the front gate.
Ahead the hawk flew, its wings beating much faster than any of Lara and Rekka's party could walk. It flew as they walked, arriving in half the time it would take them to get to the city. As it landed on a specific window sill of the enchanted palace. The hawk tapped its yellow beak against the window, and two hands pulled it open.
A bandage wrapped hand stretched out towards the hawk, and the creature was more than happy to leap onto its master's hand. It's red eyes blinked as the hand drew the hawk into the room. There the man with all of his face except for a slit for eyes and mouth wrapped in medical bandages awaited him. "Good work my pet. Good work." The man told the hawk. The man's own matching red colored eyes blinked in unison with the hawk's own as he brought the creature up to his mouth and kissed it.

As they headed out of the cave, Rekka could tell that Infusca was nervous. No doubt, it was the first time that she had ever left the isolation of her home. It was understandable that she would be nervous. Rekka just hoped that Infusca wouldn't be spotted because of her tension. Anyone could tell that she was being obvious about hiding her appearance by holding the cloak the way she did. Of course, Rekka didn't comment. It would be insensitive of her to tell the necromancer to stop fidgeting like a frightened rabbit. Instead, she walked along with the others toward the enchanted road. They had learned the name of if when Bartimaeus suddenly spoke up calling it that.
The group passed the watch towers as Alvi asked the bard about having been here once before. The way he referenced Bartimaeus though made Rekka even raise an eyebrow. Since when was the elf child spirit calling someone like mister all of a sudden? Bartimaeus responded stating that he had been to all the world that still exist and even the ones that no longer did. It was depressing to know there were worlds gone. Now, there were only five known and all of them were greatly overpopulated due to the decrease in worlds to live on. That war, even though it had happened before her time, hadn't been a pleasant one. So many had died and a lot suffered as a result.
Rekka was pulled out of her thoughts then when Infusca suddenly spoke to her. Rekka walked alongside the necromancer and considered the woman's question. "We've met him back in our world. He claims to be a bard but there seems to be more to him than we really know. I'm sorry that I can't tell you anything more than that since even I don't know exactly what he could truly be other than a bard." It was an honest answer. Rekka wouldn't lie to Infusca about Bartimaeus. "He likes to keep his secrets it seems."
Ahead of them, Rekka wondered if Bartimaeus had heard them. If he did, he paid it no mind. Instead, he simply focused on Alvi and the two got into a conversation about what it was like to not go to the bathroom anymore. Rekka chose to ignore the conversation. Honestly, out of all the questions one had to ask a spirit, it was that! Well, if Alvi was answering him, she had guessed that the two were simply two peas in a pod. They got along swimmingly compared to the rest of their group.
Eventually, they reached the front gate. Rekka knew nothing of the hawk that had seen them or the man it returned to, apparently being tipped off by the hawk that company was around. The group was surely about to get one heck of a surprise, that was for sure, since bad luck always seemed to follow them wherever they went. They had been lucky in making a bit of a friend out of Infusca but bad luck always found them. One way, or another, it found them again. At least they got a bit of a break in Infusca's home before being plunged into danger once more.
It was somewhat odd that they met no one on the road as they made it all the way to the main gate. The city ahead of them was half of a day's travel or so it seemed. Once they reached the city, they could use a Gummi Ship to get off this world. Rekka hoped they would since she sorely missed her portal beans. The portal beans made traveling between worlds much quicker than traveling by ship. The only downside to portal beans was one found themselves in odd places at times. After all, technology wasn't always reliable.
"You know,I thought we'd run into fellow travelers by now...it's sort of deserted for a main road, don't you guys think so?" Rekka asked, glancing around with her one eye this way and that as she turned her head and even turned around to look at where they had come. She could not spot anyone or anything as far as she could tell. It was weird for a supposedly main road of what sounded like another big kingdom.

Walking down the road, Lara wondered just where all the people were. As they passed a couple of farms when they were still a few hours out of the city, Lara had expected to see some workers in the fields. Yet she hadn't see a one. Just where was everybody? Things just got even stranger when they neared the front gate. There were no people! Lara was used to seeing long lines waiting for people to get into a city back in the Kingdom of Cornelia. Some days there would be lines of people for miles awaiting to enter into the city. It was a task for the front gate guards that Lara thankfully never had to do.
As they paused in front of the gate, Lara heard Rekka's comment. "I agree... Something seems off." She commented with a pretty common response from both Bartimaeus and Alvi. Behind them all Infusca was doing her best it seemed to not be noticed. She had the cloak wrapped around her tight, and her eyes never left the ground.
"Well we mine as well try and see if anyone's home..." Bartimaeus said. He strolled forward, without a moment to converse about just what they should do. Lara watched with surprise as the bard walked up to the front gates and shouted out to the watchtower. "YOOHOO!!!"
"He is going to be the death of us!" Lara said in her shock.
It took a moment before a helmeted head popped out of a window from the watch tower. "Well look at that Buddy! We got us some guests! What are they doing here at the down gate?...What?...Oh right. What are you guys doing here? Don't you know the South Gate is closed today?"
Bartimaeus responded. "I did not good sirs. My fellow companions and I just arrived from the World of Cornelia. Which gate is um... open."
The helmeted head retreated, and Lara could hear the man shouting from inside. "They want to know which gate is open?... What?...Oh!" The helmeted head reappeared and glanced down at all of them. "There's five of um. Two woman, a man, a child, and... Hey you there with the hood. Pull that hood down!"
Lara glanced back at Infusca. From here Lara could see that the necromancer's hands were shaking. "It's alright. Go on." Lara whispered. Infusca slowly took off the hood of her cloak.
"Ah! Another woman with short hair too. How prettyy..." The helmeted head suddenly retreated again and this time a different man's head replaced it. From where she stood Lara could see that it was a man in his middle ages.
"Oh! My lieutenant says you guys are from Cornelia? What business do you have in Enchanted Domain?"
Lara hadn't thought that one through. Thankfully though Bartimaeus seemed to have an answer for everything. "I'm a banker from one of the banks in Cornelia. My subordinates and I have some business with some of the local banks."
"Oh a banker." They couldn't see it, but the man rolled his eyes. His voice though dropped an octave when he spoke of a banker coming into the city. "Well the gate here is supposed to be locked. But I'll let you guys through. I'd be another two hours travel to either the east or west gate."

Rekka wondered where people were. Even when they reached the gate, no one appeared to be anywhere in sight. Just what was going on? It worried Rekka that there wasn't anyone around considering the kingdom sounded like something big. Maybe nowhere as big as Cornelia but the way it was talked about, it sounded that way. When she spoke of it, she heard Lara's response about something seeming off. Were they walking into a trap or something worse? Considering their luck, Rekka wouldn't be surprised. She knew eventually they would run into trouble again. The rest of the group agreed that it was odd. Then, Bartimaeus stepped forward.
Before Rekka could even think of tackling the bard before he said anything, Bartimaeus called out to the watch tower. Hearing Lara's words of shock, Rekka replied in kind "That he is!"
There was a brief moment before a helmeted head from the watch tower appeared looking down at them. The figure spoke, most likely talking to someone nearby. It sounded like his friend said something to him since he had responded to someone they couldn't hear before asking what they were doing here and that the gate was closed. Bartimaeus responded saying that he did not know and that they had come from the world of Cornelia, asking which gate was open then. The helmeted head took a moment to retreat to talk to his companion.
The helmeted head was in no way quiet as he shouted to someone else telling all what they were probably saying. Seemingly, he had been asked about who had come since the helmeted head then peered over at them again and described them loudly to the other person he was talking to. He noticed Infusca with her hood and told her to lower it. Rekka looked slowly over at Infusca as Lara told her to go ahead and that it was alright. Rekka couldn't blame the woman for being nervous outside of her safe zone. Rekka would probably feel the same way as she if she had remained in one place cooped up for so long. Upon seeing Infusca, the helmeted head stated how cute Infusca was.
'Oookay?' Rekka thought with disbelief at the sudden comment. Well, at least Infusca's appearance was appealing and no one suspected her. Rekka hoped she wasn't. Suddenly, the helmeted head retreated and another head appeared over the edge to look down at them. When this new head appeared, it was easy to see it was a many in his middle age speaking to them now referring to the helmeted head as his lieutenant and then asked them what they were doing here in the Enchanted Domain.
None of them had an answer save for Bartimaeus. Rekka was glad he was quick thinking when it came to something such as this. His explanation though made Rekka wonder. A banker?! How the heck could Bartimaeus be a banker and standing there with obviously armed people? Lara and Rekka, most of all, looked armed compared to the rest. How could that be a perfectly good explanation? Never the less, the man above them seemed to let it go. His voice had dropped an octave as he answered them saying that the gate was suppose to be closed today but he would allow them through. Either way, the other gates would give them a two hour trek. Rekka was very grateful for the fact the man was kind enough to let them in and not have them walk around that long to the next open gate.
"Thank you, sir!" Rekka called up politely. Really, he could have them walk all the way around instead but he was kind enough not to.

Lara really wanted to smack Bartimaeus. How were they going to convince the guards of that lie? A banker? Lara knew nothing about being a banker! Though perhaps she wouldn't need to know too much since they were all Bartimaeus's subordinates. As Bartimaeus retreated to stand next to them Lara leaned forward. "I hope you know what you're doing."
The head up above had retreated, most likely to get the orders to open the gate across to whoever controlled it. Bartimaeus spoke in an even hushed tone. However given how close everyone was standing they could all hear it. "Don't worry everyone. I've dealt with bankers before. I can play their type."
Well Lara sure hoped so. She had no experience with bankers. But she did have experience with guards. Hopefully these guards weren't the suspicious sort. They didn't seem to be by the way they acted.
There was a clicking sound of something large being unlocked before the gates in front of them slowly began to open outward towards them. The gates opened slowly at first, opening at a snail pace at first. Bartimaeus started forward, leading their group, and Lara followed behind him. They all came to a stop though when the gate opened wide enough to reveal a cavalry soldier atop a black horse come riding out of the gate. He was followed by nine more cavalry soldiers who sat atop black horses. They rode out of the gate dressed in full armor with poll arms in their hands. Lara could only watch in surprise and confusion as the ten horseman circled around them in a closed formation. They had their pole arms all pointed in one direction, towards them!
Bartimaeus was as confused as Lara was. "What is the meaning of this?!" He asked.
In response a sudden caw of a raven sounded from above behind them. Turning about, Lara watched a black raven fly through the sky not more then ten feet over their heads. She followed the bird as it descended onto the shoulder of a single person walking out of the gate. With the armored cavalry soldiers surrounding them she had not seen the other person walk out.
A person, Lara could not tell the gender due to the shoulder length curly hair, reached a wrapped hand to stroke the raven's head. The person's hand along with his face, were wrapped in what appeared to be medical tape or bandages. The person had a single line missing for their eyes, and a line missing for parched lips. They were dressed in tan colored long sleeved robes and upon further examination sandals. Lara also noticed that his feet were wrapped in medical tape as well.
"Good work my darling." A man's voice said to the raven as he continued to pet it. Stretching out his hand, the raven hopped from his shoulder to the open hand. "Go rest now." He told the bird and tossed it in the air. Lara traced the bird only for a moment as it leaped into the air and flew away. Only after the raven had taken to the air did the wrapped man turn to them all. "You are all under arrest under suspicion of necromancy."

Rekka wondered if Bartimaeus's excuse had really worked. When the head above retreated, Rekka wasn't sure what to think at this point. Did they really believe that lie? She looked over at Lara ad Bartimaeus as she heard her captain speaking in a low tone to the bard. Rekka hoped the bard knew what he was doing too. She didn't think any bankers could possibly resemble either of them. Subordinates to a banker? It seemed too far fatched! Hearing Bartimaeus respond, Rekka sighed slightly. Just what kind of bankers had he ever run into before?
Rekka wasn't sure what to think as the gates clicked before them and gradually opened up. She furrowed a brow as a figure upon a horse appeared through the opening as the gates widened. Bartimaeus stepped forward leading the rest toward the oepning gate. The single soldier came riding out of the gate. At first, Rekka had thought it their fashion of greeting strangers. She was proven wrong though when ten more showed up. It didn't take a genius to figure out that they didn't believe Bartimaeus's story.
'Well, so much for the bankers story!' Rekka thought with a sigh. Hearing the bard ask what the meaning of this was, Rekka looked at the pole arms pointed at her and the others. She frowned at them, placing a hand carefully on the hilt of her sword but didn't draw it. The feeling of being threatened didn't come to her just yet as she remained in place. A raven suddenly cawed.
Rekka glanced at the bird finding it strange that a bird would appear at that instance. Following the bird's path, she soon saw it land on the shoulder of a heavily bandaged person. There was no telling the figure's gender because of how covered in bandages the figure had been. Rekka furrowed her brows as she looked back at the person whom had just reached up to stroke the head of the raven. She didn't know why but something didn't seem right about that person and it wasn't just because of the bandages or the bird. There had to be some kind of power this person had. As he dismissed the bird, Rekka half considered roasting it with a fireball when the man claimed they were all under arrest for them suspecting them of necromancy.
Rekka wasn't sure what to do or think right now. Instead, she just looked angrily at the bandaged person. Who wouldn't be angry about being arrested? She wasn't guilty of no such thing. On top of it, she worried about Infusca. What would tey do to her if they found out she was the one that had that power? Hopefully, Infusca wouldn't freak out and use her powers. If she didn't use them, they couldn't possibly find out, could they?
"Bartimaeus...Lara...?" Rekka spoke their names, not sure what to do as the units closed in on them, some even poking her with their weapons a bit to make her move forward, which she had no choice but to do so that they'd stop poking her.

Things were about to go from bad to worse. Lara didn't know what to say. She felt like an animal caught in a trap. Her normal fast thinking had gone out the window. Bartimaeus made an attempt to say something, "This is preposterous! Who are you to accuse us?" The soldiers around them though began to close in.
Lara was busy focusing on the guards, Bartimaeus, and the bandaged man. She did not see that Infusca had her skeleton staff in her hand. As one of the guards nudged his pole arm for her to move along, Infusca acted like a cornered animal might. She attacked. Her staff tapped the floor and a wave of energy traveled from below and into the ground.
Then all hell broke loose. It started with a skeleton hand forcing it's way out of the ground. A skeleton rose from the earth right underneath the horse's nose. In response the horse reacted as any frightened animal might. It fell on it's hind legs and threw it's rider from its back. Someone nearby shouted, "Necromancy!" And the surrounding soldiers began to close in on Infusca.
Lara reacted as was typical as well. She summoned the axe to her hand. A soldier who had a pull arm next to her raised his pole arm to thrust it at her. Nearby a soldier seemed ready to do the same to Rekka and Infusca and her skeleton. Bartimaeus found two soldiers near him about to do the same.
Lara readied to defend herself when all of a sudden she felt something very heavy force her to the ground. One by one everyone around them, including the soldiers, were pressed with four hundred pounds of weight. The sudden added weight threw her, Bartimaeus, Infusca, and the surrounding soldiers and even horses to be forced to the ground. The horses managed to stay somewhat upright, but there was an obvious weight on their shoulder that prevented them from moving.
"Now how is it a child is still standing?" The bandaged man asked. The only peoples not affected at all were the bandaged man and Alvi.
Alvi found himself glancing back and forth and then the young elf suddenly dived to the floor like there was a sudden added weight. He made fake grunts that Lara could clearly make out to be fake.
Lara could not lift her head, but a moment later a pair of sandals came into her vision. They walked past her and stopped at Alvi. "How interesting. You are not alive are you? I would suppose this is her doing as well. Don't you worry poor spirit. You too dead skeleton."
"You have no right to do this!" Lara spat out. She couldn't see the bandaged man but she knew he must be near.
"Ah but I can. I am Inspector Crudont, the man his highness has placed in charge of keeping watch of the southern road. I will be bringing you all straight to the dungeons to get your statement. You will then be tried by his royal highness and judgement shall be placed."

Rekka looked to Bartimaeus and Lara for help but none of them did anything. Instead, Infusca decided for them all what was going to happen. The bard attempted to protest but the soldiers didn't listen, they just closed in on them. As Rekka turned to see Infusca, her heart felt like it had just stopped as she saw the necromancer had taken out her staff. Like anyone that was frightened, even an animal, she had reacted by the fight response instead of the flight response. 'Looks like the cat's out of the bag now!' Rekka thought. Everything just went straight to hell. They didn't know of a necromancer being in their midst until now for certain as Infusca summoned her powers.
Seeing as everyone else was pulling out their weapons, Rekka turned on the soldier whom had just raised his weapon to attack her with. In response, Rekka narrowed her eye as she frowned at the man, her free hand becoming engulfed in flames. Before any of them could do anything, Rekka felt a sudden, heavy weight throwing her to the hard ground. The flames in her hand went out instantly as she hit the ground in a heap.
Everyone around her too had fallen to the ground as well. It seemed the sudden force had inflicted all of them to cease the fight that would have taken place. Rekka had been facing away from the bandaged figure so she didn't get the chance to see him. She could hear him speak, however. Just their luck, just their damn luck to run into trouble so soon! Rekka gritted her teeth as she tried to move but it was to no avail. What were they going to do now? Once again, they were thrown into a tough mess!
As she heard Lara tell the man he had no right, he informed him that he did since he had been appointed by the king to watch this gate. He had the right to arrest them and bring them to the castle's dungeons where they were to face trial. "Great, just great!" Rekka grumbled in response. Eventually, whatever the bandaged person did, they would be whisked away to the dungeons to wait for their most likely trial.

Infusca, within eye shot of Rekka, was attempting to break out of the weight that was pressing against her. Her staff had been thrown away when she hit the floor. Her eyes desperately looked to her staff. If she could grab it they might stand a chance! On the other side of things Lara had managed to keep her grip on her weapon. But the little good it could do when she couldn't even lift it up.
They sure were in a pickle! A part of Lara wanted to fight back. The enraged pissed off part of her that was. The logical part of her though was trying to work through a solution. There was no denying they were traveling with a necromancer. Infusca had let that fact out of the bag. But perhaps there was a way to save them all. It could be done, but it would mean turning on Infusca. Even if they did choose to do that there was no necessity that it might work.
"Goodnight everyone. I will speak with you all soon." The bandaged man said from somewhere. A moment later Lara heard a thump. This was quickly followed by another as the bandaged man walked in front of Infusca and dealt a swift chop to the back of her skull. It knocked the poor necromancer out in a moment.
Lara had no clue what was going on and was afraid! Was he killing her comrades?! "Were not necromancers I swear!" She pleaded. She didn't see the swift coming to the back of her head, things just simply went black.
---------------
The bandaged man strolled over to Rekka, the remaining member of the party still away besides Alvi. Of course Alvi had taken this time to run into a horse where he was hidding inside the animal. The poor creature could feel his presence and was shaking. It couldn't really shake to much though because of the weight pressed against it. Alvi watched the man aim a chop at Rekka. Preferring to look away rather then see the pain, Alvi heard a thump. Whether or not it would knock Rekka out or even succeed in hitting though would remain to be seen.
-----------------------
Anicula, the spirit of Infusca's mother, let out a shrilling scream. She could feel it! Deep down to the very essence of herself she could feel that her baby was in danger. Yet she could do nothing about it! She was just a spirit now and trapped in the lands of the Forbidden Mountain. Still so loud was her shrill that it made the very mountain slightly tremble. She flew through the castle, traveling across the land to the farthest places she could reach. There the portal that was supposed to protect her daughter stood before her.
She appeared on the physical plane, her entire essence shaking with rage. Her baby needed her! "I'll kill them! I'll send them all to their graves for taking her out." Those newcomers. They were probably the reason she was in danger. At least while she had been here, Anicula could watch over her. Now she knew nothing, just that she was in danger.
The spirit let out another shrill scream. Than she remembered. "My Master had sought a balance of darkness and light. He feared necromancy because there is no light in necromancy. Thus how can there be a balance. But he was wrong! They are all wrong! Don't you see my Generals?! All life begins and ends in darkness. There is life in darkness."
Anicula could feel the darkness of the forbidden mountain. If she could physically appear on this dimensional plane should she not be able to do more. The darkness was not something that could be seen. It was something that existed as surely as did the light. Anicula knew that occasionally darkness did take physical form, but it required a heart to do so. "Yet at my essence isn't that what I am now? Simply a heart, a will, a spirit that has yet to pass on?" Anicula reached for the darkness around her. She could actually see it now, being on a different dimensional plane then the living. It clawed at her very being tempting her to succumb. Deep down she knew she shouldn't. After all she knew not what would happen if she did. But she felt as if she had no other choice. She let the darkness take her and rip her to shreds.

Rekka didn't know what danger had been awakened when they were all captured under that unseen weight. She tried to struggle to get out of it but it remained on her. Anger was rising within her being. If this kept up, she would probably flare up for all she knew. Her friends were in danger and so was she. Unfortunately, she couldn't break free and ahead of her, she could see Infusca struggling to reach her staff. The sight of her doing that was heartbreaking because Rekka knew out of them all that only Infusca was a true necromancer. Lara was in just as much danger too because she had some sort of spirit energy in her being as well.
If she could glare at the one responsible for their capture she would have but she was facing away from the bandaged person. As thumps were heard, Rekka didn't like the sound of it. Just what was happening to those behind her? There had been at least a series of two thumps. Infusca, right before her very eyes, had been knocked out. At this time, Rekka had been able to turn her head to look over at the bandaged person as he made his way over to Lara next.
As she heard Lara's plead, Rekka felt the fire in her heart grow stronger. Of course the fire in her couldn't do anything yet but she was definitely angry for their mistreatment. Who were they to judge them when they came from another world? As Lara was knocked out, now it was Rekka's turn. Alvi couldn't do anything and since he was a spirit, it wasn't like he could stop the bandaged man from reaching where Rekka now lay. Her only good eye was able to see up to the man's bandaged face as she turned it more, painstakingly, to glare up at him.
"Yu will not contain us!" Rekka growled but it was all that she could do. If she had been allowed a moment's more to et angry, she might've lost control with the fire in her and might've done more than a simple fireball. Instead, like the others, Rekka received a thwack to the back of the head and she too was out cold. When she woke up though, there would be no telling how angry she would become.

When Lara gradually came about the first thing she noticed was that they were in a cell. Her head felt like someone had tried to split her temple in half. It was a nagging pain that slowly began to ease as she came more awake. They had all been placed in a single cell. Lara spotted both Rekka and Bartimaeus both on the floor. Inside the cell Lara spotted a chamber pot in the corner of the room. Other than that the room was empty except for them. Additionally Infusca was no where to be seen.
Glancing over at Rekka and Bartimaeus, Lara didn't see any visible injuries. Most likely they were hit in the same fashion she must have been. The headache that had been troubling her had finally gone away after a few passing moments. Going over to Bartimaeus first, Lara tried waking the bard up. It didn't take too much to do so.
"Wha... What's going on?" He asked her.
Lara gestured around them. "You're a banker remember." She said. The comment came off harsher than she had attended however. Bartimaeus had looked away from her after she said that. "Help me wake up Rekka."
Moving over to her friend, Lara tried to shake her awake. "Wake up Rekka. You alright?" Bartimaeus asked as they tried to wake her.
"I'm sorry Captain. I hadn't expected that... If I had known they were looking for necromancers..."
Lara shook her head. "It wasn't your fault Bartimaeus. They must have been waiting for us. Somehow they must have known we'd be coming. I just hope Infusca is alright. She's not here."
"I'll get us out of this. I... I don't think I can do anything to help Infusca. The penalty for necromancy in the Enchanted Domain is death. They will not let a necromancer live. But I'll get us out of this."

Rekka knew nothing after she was hit on the back of the head. Like everyone else, she lost consciousness and knew nothing afterward. By the time she did come to, they had already been moved to the dungeons of the Enchanted Domain's castle. When she began coming to, there was an awful lot of shaking. Since she had been hit on the head prior, she had such a terrible headache. Furrowing her brows, gritting her teeth, she sucked in air with a hiss of pain. In the distance, coming closer, she could hear someone asking her if she was alright. Opening her eyes, blinking but her vision not clear yet, she answered them.
"I...think...so..." she trailed off slowly, trying to assess where she was. Blinking a lot, she did her best to clear her vision. Her throbbing head didn't help her any as she tried to move it to look. Two figures were near her. At first, she didn't know who it was until her vision cleared to reveal Lara and Bartimaeus. Rekka blinked back at them in confusion as the two jumped into conversation.
Lara was saying it wasn't Bartimaeus's fault about the necromancer thing. Then, Lara mentioned Infusca which had made Rekka sit suddenly upward. She regretted doing it though since her head suddenly swam in protest from her abrupt movement. When the feeling passed, she examined the area they were in. All of them, save for Infusca, were in a cell of some sort. Where was Infusca? It scared Rekka to think where the necromancer had been taken. It didn't just scare her though, it angered her. Infusca had been nice to them and was helping them! She wasn't all that bad!
For the moment, Rekka remained in the background as her anger rose within her. Not a dark anger mind you but an anger of the fact that someone was being mistreated just because of the fact they were a necromancer. If what Bartimaeus said were true, the truth only fueled her anger further. It also didn't help that the bard was so quick to just give up on Infusca when they didn't even know whether or not she was dead or just being tortured somewhere about to face whatever these people were going to do to her. That was what probably had set Rekka off finally.
"So you're telling me that you're JUST GOING TO GIVE UP ON HER?!" Rekka snapped. The flame kanji letter appeared on her forehead then. When it did, tendrils of red flames appeared and wrapped about her body to encase her in a sort of half armor. Rekka didn't even realize she was even doing this right now. She was too angry by their mistreatment and what they were going to do to a person whom had been helpful toward them. Infusca never gave them reason to hate her at all. In fact, she had been kind enough to take them out here and was going to help them find that Gummi Ship. On top of it, she had even housed them temporarily in her own home!
Pushing herself up onto her feet, Rekka stormed her way towards the front of the cell as she glared out from behind the bars. If anyone touched her they might risk getting themselves burned because of how angry she was right now. Until she calmed down, no one should risk placing a hand on her unless they had a means of preventing themselves from getting burned. Instead of directing her anger on the bard for his words, Rekka focused on the bars. She wanted out and she wanted out now!
Focusing the flames that had been surrounding her immediate person, Rekka extended a hand out towards the iron bars directly in front of her and shot it forth in a burst of flames akin to a flamethrower. She was attempting to melt the iron bars blocking their escape.
"She helped us! We don't even know if she's dead and I will not abandon someone who doesn't deserve it!" Rekka growled. Sure, Infusca's ways were different but it was because she had been deprived of human social interaction. She didn't know how to react to other people since she hadn't been around them enough to know how to interact well. The first time she had even left that place, her isolation, she ends up imprisoned and who knows what just because of what she was. It wasn't fair! Infusca didn't deserve to die. Just like their other friends didn't deserve to die the way they did.
Once she was done trying to melt the bars, Rekka kicked at them full force to see if she had weakened the bars enough to make them fall outward or slosh harmlessly to the ground as melted iron. Well, harmless for Rekka since she was immune to flames and what she did with flames.

Lara was glad to see that Rekka was awake. She didn't seem too out of sorts... That was until Bartimaeus had made his comment about not being able to help Infusca. Lara then witnessed a side of Rekka that she had never seen before. The sudden appearance of a kanji letter followed by a surrounding of flames about Rekka's entire body made Lara step back. She didn't know what to say! In fact Lara wanted nothing more than to get away from Rekka. Fire scared her for some reason, and the fact that Rekka's anger was targeted at first at Bartimaeus made her retreat slightly away from the bard out of instinct. Bartimaeus said nothing in response at first. Glancing over at him, Lara was surprised to see that the bard didn't appear to be angry at all at the outburst. "Rekka..." He started. It was at that time that the girl turned her attention on the bars. Lara watched the display of power as flames shot out from her at the iron bars. "Rekka don't!" It wasn't a great idea to try and escape from prison. Who knew what the penalty for that was! But Lara's words came to late. Rekka had aimed a powerful kick at the bars. The fire had not exactly melted the iron of the bars, but it had weakened the earth that had been keeping the iron in place. In response the entire front gate fell right out with a clang! Bartimaeus rose. He didn't touch Rekka, and Lara was afraid of approaching her as well. What would she do now that the bars were knocked down? Lara waited to hear the guards. If this was anything like the prisons in Cornelia, they should be coming at any moment. -------------- No guards would come... But that was because they were all on a floor below Lara, Rekka, and Bartimaeus. The prison building was located right next to the barracks and made up of three floors. The first and second floors were for your typical every day prisoners and the prisoners being held for questioning. It was the third floor that the most dangerous of criminals were located. As such it was also host to the torture room. Word of a necromancer being captured had quickly began to spread among the guards in the city. All but the guards who worked at the entrances had made there way down here to get a look at the necromancer. Currently a group of ten individuals were crowding around the single cell. Inside that cell Infusca lay on the floor out cold. Inspector Crudont was one of the ten. He stood closest to the cell, watching the sleeping woman very carefully. Watching her he was filled with a seething hate for this woman he did not know. The cause of his hate came from a very specific memory that had periodically continued to haunt Crudont throughout his life. In fact he occasionally still suffered from nightmares of that event. An image came to him then. One where he could see nothing but red flames all about. He could hear nothing but his own screams and the crackle laughter of the necromancer that had created them. As the vision left him Crudont's skin tingled in memory of the pain. It made him reach for his neck and pull off the vial that was held on a chain around his neck. It was a small vial, only three inches, and held a blue liquid inside. Popping off the clip on top, Crudont raised it to his mouth and downed it in a gulp. The tingling passed after a moment. Sounds of footsteps to their right cut off all conversation from the surrounding other nine guards. Crudont had not even been aware that the guards had been conversing while he had stood there. The reason they chose to stop was because of the two newcomers. The first was a man in his mid thirties dressed in the regular armor of the Enchanted Domain officers. The regular armored uniform of a guard was made of a dark gray iron breast plate with the image of a blue and pink lotus flower on the right breast painted onto it, black pants, a chain scarf, light gray armored shoulder guards, light gray armored sleeves, black gloves, light gray lower leg guards, and dark gray knee guards. A matching light gray helmet usually accompanied the uniform, but it was not necessary unless going out into the field. The main difference in the uniform that this man wore in comparison to the other guards were three starts underneath the blue and pink lotus flower. The man had no helmet, displaying a very short cut black hair, grizzly facial hair, tired brown eyes, and pale white skin. He walked aside another man. This man had long strands of blonde hair, a short cut beard and mustache, and green eyes. This man was in his forties and also dressed in the uniform of the guard. One major difference in this man's uniform though were four blue colored stars underneath the lotus flour insignia painted onto the breastplate. Inspector Crudont recognized both of them. The first with the short cut hair was the Head Jailer, Sergeant Russel, or as many in the guard called him behind his back, Sergeant Rusty. Crudont never understood the nickname, but he had no reason too really. The second man was a man that was very respected. Sir Edward, Captain and Member of the Blue Guards, outranked them all. He was one of the most important men in the entire kingdom. Being that he was responsible for leading the Blue Guards, the group of nine men whose sole duty was to protect the royal family, his being here was most likely at the direct response of the king. Crudont respected both of these men. He would not call them friends, truthfully Crudont had no friends, but both men were very good soldiers. The nine guards made a pathway when the two approached. They came to a stop next to Inspector Crudont. "Sir Edward, this is Inspector Crudont." Sergeant Russel introduced him. Sir Edward gave a solemn nod to Crudont. "Good to see you again Inspector. I hear we have you to thank for the capture of the necromancer." Inspector Crudont nodded slowly. Yes he was responsible for the capture. Truthfully he was probably one of the only people who could capture a necromancer. After all he was the only inspector hired by the royal family. Inspector Crudont was not born in the Enchanted Domain. He had only been hired a year ago by the king after his majesty had disbanded the Necromancy Division within the guards. "And the witnesses of the display?" Sir Edward asked. Sergeant Russel answered for them. "Inspector Crudont, Laurence, Claudine, and Marx of the cavalry division." The three other guards that Russel named all stepped forward. "Have you given your statement's soldiers and Inspector." Sir Edward asked. The soldiers around Crudont all confirmed verbally that they had. Inspector Crudont nodded that he had. Sir Edward nodded in understanding. "And you all swear by oath that these accounts are correct to the best of your ability?" "Yes sir." This time Inspector Crudont did speak aloud. Sir Edward let out a held in breath. "Alright then. I will take those to the king where he will review them and pass judgement on the necromancer. Now I believe that you had said something about three others who were accompanying the necromancer?" The question was posed to Russel, but the Head Jailer indicated that Inspector Crudont should speak. "Yes Sir. We apprehended three other individuals who were traveling with the necromancer. They had not displayed any ability to indicate that they were necromancers, but they had been traveling with her since their appearance out of the cave." Inspector Crudont truthfully didn't know what to make of Bartimaeus, Lara, and Rekka. They clearly had been covering the necromancer. But if they were necromancers why hadn't they tried to fight back? Crudont refused to believe that these people were good. What kind of person traveled with necromancers? Additionally they all had been traveling with the necromancer from the start. "Where are they now Inspector?" The Head Jailer had the answer to that question. "We have them secured in a cell on the second floor. We have yet to question them." Sir Edward nodded. "Alright then. Inspector Crudont, Russel, let us go interview our guests. And the rest of you... The good people of the Enchanted Domain do not pay taxes so that you may stare at a necromancer. You would be smart to get back to work." Sergeant Russel looked back at the guards with loathe. Crudont could tell that he was embarrassed that the guards under him had been disciplined by a higher up. "Back to work all of ya! Flooey I want you to stand here and watch the necromancer. Knock her out if she beings to rouse. We can't afford her accessing magic." Flooey, a young guard of no real importance, saluted in understanding. "Right this away Sir Edward." Inspector Crudont followed behind the two as they walked. ((OOC: Sir Edward is the same man who had appeared at the end of our Twilight Town thread with Damien and Orion and Max that brought Orion's identity out to Damien and the rest of the org.))

Rekka couldn't help it when her anger surged immensely within her. Bartimaeus's words had only sent her off the edge. Considering how she had been boiling beforehand. Hearing that they were just going to give up on Infusca without so much as a second thought had ticked her off. Infusca had helped them and the though of leaving Infusca behind to die didn't sit well with her. They didn't even know if Infusca were alive or dead. How she made the others feel, Rekka didn't care right now. She was too angry to think clearly.
Bartimaeus had spoken her name but Rekka refused to listen. He was probably going to speak to her like there would be no helping the necromancer. Rekka didn't want to hear it. Having turned immediately away from them, Rekk focused her attention on the iron bars keeping them contained and used a new found part of her fire powers that she didn't know she had before. Her anger apparently brought out more of it than she knew she had. It surprised her a bit but she remained angry. She wanted out and she wanted out now. Nothing would hold her back. She refused to let anything stop her.
Even though flames had surrounded her immediate person, the flames went away and in place of the flames was the half armor appearing on her person. After flaming the bars, Rekka paid no heed to Lara's voice as she kicked full force at the bars. Instead of t bars falling out, she found herself looking at the whole gate falling outward. It caught her off guard a bit as she stared at what she did for a moment. They were out, they were free! Well, for now that is. No doubt, there would be guards heading their way after such a noise.
There was no movement, no sound after that. Knowing they were now free, Rekka walked ahead not even looking back. "If either of you were in her shoes, I would not turn my back on either of you." She had said this when she took pause for a moment before walking out of the dungeons leaving it all up to Lara and Bartimaeus if they wanted to follow her or not.

((OOC: Must say I am liking the avatar / signature Miss Sprow )) Lara didn't know what to do. Things never seemed to stay still long enough for them to ever get their heads wrapped around things. Seeing the half armor appear on Rekka, Lara figured that Rekka must be ready for battle. The way she walked out on them it seemed like it. Bartimaeus walked forward, intent it seemed on getting out of there as well. "I'd not stay here to long captain." With that Bartimaeus followed her, leaving only Lara. "Well I'm not going to just stay put..." Lara said to the empty walls. She quickly headed out of the cell, stepping over the bars cautiously. Who knew if they were still hot to the touch or not. Seeing Bartimaeus ahead of her, she spotted him catch up with Rekka and speak to her. "If you really want to free Infusca our best bet will be to go to the Prince. He'll listen to me. I don't think there is much I can really do to convince the King. I can't guarantee we can save her Rekka. But I'll try..." Lara had caught up with them by then and had caught the last two sentences that Bartimaeus had said. "I... I'm sorry. You're right. She wouldn't have abandoned us."As they came to an open doorway they walked right into the mid level of the staircase. From below them came the echo of footsteps and the sound of voices speaking. "Where do we go Miss Rekka? Down would lead us further into the jail. Up will lead us to the ground floor." Whatever she chose, Lara chose that Rekka chose quickly. Someone was coming right there way!

Rekka hadn't voluntarily summoned the half armor. It reacted to her emotions then and had wrapped itself about her to permit her to use a more stronger method of flame abilities. Not that Rekka would know this just yet. Even now, she was still discovering what she could do. Still, considering Rekka's anger right now, it was probably best that she had something protecting her from bodily harm. Walking out of the cell and the dungeons, she didn't pay any mind if the others had followed her out or not.
As she walked, Rekka didn't give pause until Bartimaeus had caught up with her. His sudden arrival had made her stop abruptly in her tracks. She looked over at the bard as he stated their best bets to free Infusca would be to contact the prince of this kingdom. Looking over at him hard for a moment, it was a wonder if Rekka was about to explode on him or not. It sounded a lot better than busting down all the doors in the castle and fighting one's way through it until they found Infusca which would have probably worn them all out by the time they reached her.
Simmering down, Rekka took a second to breathe. "You're right...instead of wasting all of our energy busting down doors and walls, it would probably be better to try and talk with the higher ups..." she relented. It was worth a shot, the other way would only get them all killed now that she had thought about it. In her anger, she hadn't thought of what consequences they would face. On top of it, they had...well, she had busted their way out. "Erm...sorry for uh...exploding us out of...there?" she apologized a little too late since they were now outside of the cell. Oh well, can't cry over spilled milk now.
Lara had caught up to them finally too. It was relieving to know the others were with her on this. Hearing Lara's words, that had helped Rekka simmer down considerably with her anger. s they came to the staircase, the mid level of it from what it seemed, Bartimaeus asked her where they should go. She blinked back at the bard as if she had never seen him before. Since when had she become the one to choose where it was that they should go? Oh well, best to make it snappy. Already, she could hear footsteps coming their way.
"Up!" was all she could utter before she made haste upwards. Hopefully, those coming would just miss them and they could try to find the prince. After all, why would a prince be located further in the dungeons? That wouldn't make any sense unless he had been arrested for something. No, more likely, they were somewhere above.
(OOC: Lol thank you! I put thought into that one and it came out as nicely as I had hoped xD It's pretty much Damien in a nutshell.)

Lara had no problems letting Rekka take the lead. Heck after the display back there Lara was a bit reluctant to go against her. Bartimaeus followed pretty much right next to her, leaving Lara to bring up the rear. They climbed the staircase where it led out into a long line of additional cells.
Bartimaeus suddenly stepped forward to take the lead then. "This way." He told them, leading them swiftly down the hall. As they walked they passed some occasional prisoners. The majority of them were dressed in their regular every day clothes. There were men and woman both and they were all a variety of size, shape, and age.
"I wonder what they did wrong?" Lara commented to herself more than anyone else. Her eyes didn't stay on any one prisoner for long. Lara was keeping an eye out for any guards. Oddly they hadn't run into any just yet.
"Minor offenses. Probably couldn't afford bail, so they'll be here till they see trial. That is unless they changed things since I've last been here. It's been a while."
Glancing over at Bartimaeus, Lara wondered just what he was doing here that he knew the layout of the prisons. If Lara had to guess she'd say that he was probably a prisoner. Knowing the amount of trouble that the bard always seemed to almost get them in it would certainly fit his personality.
As the line of prisons ended they came to a stop at a double sided door. Bartimaeus looked into a window in one of the doors as he tried to remain out of the vision of it. Lara followed suit, staying out of the way next to Rekka on the other side of the door. "What's are plan once we get out of here?" Lara hadn't caught onto the fact that Bartimaeus apparently knew the Prince. If she had she'd wonder just how the heck he knew him!
Bartimaues pulled away from the window and turned to the two of them. "Were in luck. I don't see any guards. Soon as we open these doors we run. This hall leads right to the end of the prison, which opens into the barracks. Prisoners come and go out of these halls every day. Once were outside we just have to act like we belong... Alright let's go!" Bartimaeus opened the doors and shot down the hall. Lara followed.

The fact that the others seemed to be letting her take the lead for now had confused her a bit. She didn't realize that she had frightened Lara and probably even Bartimaeus. In truth, she would have never harmed either of them despite her fit of rage back there. Not intentionally, anyway. Thankfully, neither of them had gotten close enough to get burned by accident. It was a good thing she had managed to simmer down even now for she probably would have worsened the situation if she were permitted to wander onward alone. She could have murdered people in her fit of rage. Rekka wasn't a murderer intentionally unless she was attacked first.
Having made the decision to go upward, they finally came to the very top of the stairs. When they reached it, they were met with the sight of another long line of cells before them. Here, Bartimaeus had taken the lead to show them where to go. It didn't even occur to Rekka just now that the bard actually knew where it is they were going. If she had time to think about it she would have been more curious about him but she hadn't caught that just yet. It might catch up with her later when there was a time for thinking. Right now, they needed to move before anyone spotted them and things got even crazier.
As they ran, Rekka hadn't stopped to look at any of the prisoners they passed. Lara must have caught a glimpse of them here and there for she had made a comment about wondering what they had done wrong. Passing a cell, Rekka had bothered to look at it as they passed. It was a normal looking elderly man standing there, watching them run by his cell. There seemed to have been a look of confusion on his face as they ran by.
'No time to think on it now!' Rekka mentally told herself. Hopefully, they weren't about to be thrown back into a jail cell again. Rekka didn't enjoy the idea of sleeping on hard stone or straw. She slept outside in the wild without sleeping bags before but she would rather avoid it if she could. It wasn't a pleasant feeling being all stiff the next day. As they ran, she heard Bartimaeus's response to Lara stating that the offenses had been minor and then suggesting what the people here might have done. Hopefully, the laws he stated were true and didn't change much. Then again, was it something that they wanted to hope stayed the same? Bartimaeus certainly appeared to know many things compared to them. Could he really have attained such knowledge over the course of the years he had spent alive traveling as a mere bard?
They finally came to a stop before what appeared to be two large double doors. There were windows in each of the doors, all three of them avoided the line of vision each window had to avoid detection. Bartimaeus peered through one carefully to try and see if anyone was there. As he did so, Lara questioned about what they were going to do once they were out of here. Once he was sure there were no guards, Bartimaeus turned to them and answered Lara's question. These doors opened up into the end of the prison and opened up into the barracks. Once they would be outside, they were to act normal and blend in. With that, the bard urged them to go and opened the doors. Not even waiting for either of them, the bard shot down the hall. Rekka and Lara followed him in close pursuit not even stopping to look at where it is they were going.
Just like Bartimaeus had said, it really did look like they had reached the end of the prison. Now, the hall opened up into the barracks through another set of doors. Like before, they had carefully peered through the windows to make sure the coast was clear before opening that set of doors and zipping down the barracks as well.
By the time they reached the outside, the three of them were forced to dart behind large pillars or columns that were holding up the far reaching ceiling above their very heads. People walked past, not even aware of the fact that three people had just escaped the dungeons. Some looked like servants while others appeared to be mere commoners or visitors. As long as the three of them acted normal, things couldn't go too drastically wrong, could they? Without a word, each of them slipped out into the crowd walking by and eventually met up with each other to talk. Them pulling off to the side, it really looked like they had all just stepped aside to merely converse and nothing more. Nothing at all looked suspicious of them unless someone who had seen them before spotted them.
"Okay, where would this prince of this place be?" Rekka asked Bartimaeus in a low tone so that only he and Lara could hear her. It really did look as though Rekka had returned back to her normal self again, over her fit of rage.
